Came here for Happy Hour and we enjoyed the food! The appetizers were so flavorful and amazing! We had the scallops, braised beef roja(?), mussels, and the beet salad. If the app were this good, the entrees should be amazing as well. Would recommend coming here when we come back to Cocoa Beach.

Authentic family-owned & run quaint cozy escape. Menu was creative and I dared to get grits (pumpkin/cheese) for my 1st time. DEElicious! The chef offered goat cheese & strawberry appetizer taste and that was WOW! Awesome service & atmosphere ... worth the $$$

Oh yes this is the place! A must stop spot in Cocoa Beach. Coastal chic meets elevated dining. We highly recommend the Farmers Market Pasta, and ask for the entree size. The brussel sprouts were great. I always try the fresh catch that is swordfish, they put a fun spin on it each time. The service is great. We tried a horrible wine but our waitress definitely gave us a fair warning!

We had a fantastic meal at The Fat Snook tonight after doing careful research of the best seafood restaurant to eat in Cocoa Beach and hit the jackpot. The food was excellent, the vibe was local, and the service was friendly. We ordered several dishes from starters, the salads, to main courses, to dessert and enjoyed our entire meal. I will keep this review short and just say, this is a solid seafood restaurant with a local vibe and high quality ingredients and very flavorful dishes. Not too many options so you won't be overwhelmed with choices so that's a plus. I'd say to go with the recommendations from the waiter if you're unsure and pair it with a draft beer and/or glass of pinot noir. 5 stars easily and two very enthusiastic thumbs up! Thank you for a fantastic final meal in Florida before we head back to Georgia!

We were really looking forward to dinner tonight. I'd been there about 6 months ago and it was great. We started with 2 apps - scallops on top of pyre and braised beef in a corn shell. Both were awesome! Unfortunately our dinners were not. We each had 1 of the fresh catch specials. Jess liked the one with vinegar (that I ordered) and neither of us liked the other. Our server was great, but told us the fish was buttery and light and we found it dense and dry. Also both were very high priced and not worth it at all. Again, our server was excellent and the place is nice inside, but not what we expected at all.

    Crab cake

My husband and I had a wonderful dinner date at The Fat Snook, and every bite lived up to the reputation. We started with the crab cake appetizer nestled in their crack sauce--perfectly crisp on the outside, tender inside, and packed with incredible flavor. The beet and goat cheese salad was fresh and beautifully balanced, while the truffle Caesar was rich without being heavy. We couldn't resist the cornbread either, which was comforting, flavorful, and absolutely worth ordering. For our entrée, we shared the scallops and shrimp served over the most delicious dirty rice--honestly unforgettable. The seafood was cooked perfectly and paired so well with the depth of flavor in the rice. We ended the night with the pecan, bacon, maple cheesecake, and it was the perfect finale--sweet, savory, and indulgent without being overwhelming. The staff were knowledgeable and polished in their service. I truly appreciated the professionalism they presented as a team--it was clear they take pride in their commitment to providing the best possible experience for their guests. An amazing dining experience from start to finish. Thoughtful dishes, incredible flavors, and a perfect spot for a special night out. We'll absolutely be back. Casey was a delight to have as our server. He was knowledgeable and able to describe each offering we asked about. Unfortunately we had a hiccup on our end and had a delayed arrival- he was still able to get us out on time to make our next event of the evening.

Dinner for 3. - Ambiance (3*) Spacing of tables was a little tight, and while clean, it felt nondescript. - Service (2*) It started off really strong, but a few major issues in the second half. First, one of the servers, who seemed to know the guests seated right behind me, decided he would stay and chit chat. Because the tables are so close together, he was quite literally almost in my space. And he was talking really loudly, making it very difficult for people at my table to hear each other. Second, our waitress seemed to disappear after the entrees. We probably waited about 20 mins for her to clear out and ask if we wanted dessert. - Amuse: Arancini, Lemon Burrata (5*) Perfect bite size. Delicate arancini, great texture contrast with the burrata. A slight hint of lemon. Great start. - Cornbread, $9 (4*) Great texture and crumb, loved the butter. While I kind of liked that it was sweet, it bordered too sweet for me. - She Crab Soup, $18 (4*) Great flavor, velvety texture in the soup. Found a few pieces of shell in my crab meat- clearly fresh picked but harder to eat! - Scallops, $18 (3*) Beautiful presentation, but the scallops were a tad mushy, and the bacon marmalade ever slightly burned. - Queen Snapper, $55 (4*) Loved that the catch was something other than red snapper or grouper. Beautifully grilled piece of fish. The accompaniments were a little lackluster? And one note. Kind of just a sour undertone. It needed some other flavor element. - Value (3*) Entrees were a tad expensive, but with us starting dinner at 5:30, we qualified for happy hour half off starters, which was pretty great. While the happy hour pricing took away some of the sting, taking a step back, the original prices are pretty elevated considering the portions. - Final Word Beautiful presentations all around. Clearly gifted chefs inside. Some small execution flaws. Hopefully the service improves. Will definitely return to see what the Fresh Catch is next time!

Homemade Caribbean cornbread - worth it.

From the time I was through the door, server was welcoming and pleasant. Family owned and everyone there is friendly and attentive to your needs. I love how quaint this place is - definitely worth visiting. I had the Thai Style Local Fish Soup (amazing, the coconut milk and bell pepper balanced the red curry) and couldn't help but have the corn bread - delicious. The only thing parking can be challenging but you are allowed to park along the street. Oh yeah it's pricey so be prepared to pay.

Before walking in, we knew we were going to have a nice dinner. Once we sat, we knew we were in for an exquisite dining experience. First, a plethora of wine options- we chose the Love Red and were not disappointed. An amuse bouche came our way and I'll tell you- my mouth was happy. We followed with the oysters and scallops- obviously if you come here, I'd assume you like seafood- but if you don't... I promise you will after these dishes. Those oysters were to die for, I'm not even exaggerating in the slightest. Our entrees were the fresh catch 2- halibut that day, and duck. The halibut was paired beautifully with coconut and bok choy, and the duck with a yummy parsnip purée. Even with as much food as we had, I finished my meal. For dessert, we had the rum cake and key lime pie. As a sweet oriented person, I'm almost afraid to say that I wish I had left off at the entrees. The desserts were delicious, but in retrospect- the meal was made in its own. If you aren't already convinced, the staff was incredibly intelligible of their menu options and the overall atmosphere was pleasant and chic. This will be a nice conversation piece for the following weeks.

    Blue crab salsa with tulips

Oooh that was special! Go to happy hour and go indulge yourself! Sexy tiger prawn special with a pineapple salsa set the bar high. The blue crab special was super yum and the Pannacotta base with a spicey tulle popped. The mussels were a great shared plate. But the star were the tiger prawns and we ordered a last plate for dessert. Grab a couple glasses of happy hour wine and say hellos to the marvelous Crystal our server!

We recently did a Florida staycation for my man's birthday that landed us in the Space Coast. With an array of divey beachfront joints to choose from, we decided to go against the tide and venture out for an intimate casually elegant affair at the Fat Snook. I really didn't know what to expect, but the menu stood out and looked compelling for this sleepy surfside town. The inside is eclectic and beach chic with servers in sailor stripes. After tasting a few wines we settled on a couple glasses of a Riesling and were greeted with a tasting spoon of a unique interpretation of the classic tuna tartare. We started with the roasted beet salad which was a work of art on the plate, and on the tastebuds and we also had the Caribbean corn bread which if you're going to go in for the carbs, this is a MUST. For dinner, in a departure from the norm the for us, we couldn't pass up on getting the same dish - their Fresh Catch #1 - a Mediterranean inspired preparation of Halibut with a falafel cake, blistered tomatoes, and a basil reduction if memory serves me right. Their plating is thoughtful and eye-catching. For dessert, the birthday boy couldn't make a decision, so we went with two: a key lime pie with a towering meringue and a chocolate coconut crust, and a decadent chocolate cake with a (tamarind?) caramel and interesting ice cream. This was not just our favorite meal in Cocoa Beach, it's also one of my favorite meals of all time. If you find yourself in the area, don't hesitate to check out this gem of a restaurant!

Crispy, flavorful, and a great way to kick off the meal. We also ordered the signature nachos with half pork and half beef. The meats were delicious, but the nachos are served in a bowl, which caused most of the liquid cheese to settle at the bottom. That left quite a few chips dry by the end. I also wish they had been a little more generous with their signature sauces because they're one of the highlights of the menu and I think a bit more of them would have really brought everything together and helped the drier chips. The PB&J BBQ sliders were a total flavor explosion. Such a creative combination, and it absolutely worked! My only suggestion would be a little more sauce and a few more peppers to really let those flavors shine (they were dry in some areas). The prices were fair for the quality of the food, and we really appreciated that they offer a military discount. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal and would likely come back to try some other options. With just a little more generosity on the sauces, this place would be outstanding. If you're looking for something different from the usual beach fare, Tiny Turtle is definitely worth a visit.

Inside is a tiki bar vibe, it is very small business and the waitress is super nice (and must deal with a lot). It was virtually empty when we went for dinner. Mussel and clam in white wine: okay the bread was not even grilled (I had expected some buttery smoked grill mark situation) and the clams had a lot of sand in them. There was a handful of dead mussels. And overall it was a bit salty and lacking in freshness. Mahi taco- inside was good but idk if orlando doesn't have a good bread place cuz the tortilla was soo bad. Like no moisture, fake tasting tortilla. Otherwise the fish and toppings are yummy and I can see why its recommended. Again not really the blackened grill flavor. The fries were real potato (russet) but also felt a overfried/fried too long at a low temperature because they were greasy and some were burnt.. The fried oysters were okay, on the smaller side. Overall, this place might be better for fried baskets and like fish and chips rather than fresh seafood experience. Also considering it is on the cape/island you do have to drive out a long way on a single road to get to it, so that might have also influenced my expectations. Again the service is good and nice if you do want to support a local business. Just for the price and repertoire, maybe I had higher expectations.
