One of the top restaurants we have ever been to is in Cocoa Beach, Florida; a regular place for us, near our place in Cape Canaveral. Their menu (attached) lists the 3 items we enjoyed, plainly as: Wild Blue Crab Feature Fresh Catch 1 Fresh Catch 2 Allow me to elaborate... For a starter, we had the wild blue crab feature. It's their plate on crab rolls, prepared with crab, shrimp, herbs, and butter tightly wrapped into spring roll, sauce fried so they're nice and crispy. They're topped with a sweet jalapeno jam served alongside a corn creme as a sauce which really combines those flavors nicely. They finish it off with a shaved corn arugula salad, pickled Fresno peppers, eggs, onion, and citrus vinegar. For my meal, I had Fresh Catch 1, the big eyed tuna. It's tuna grilled to a sushi grade medium-rare, served over a cilantro emulsion, so it's very light. Then, top it off with a succotash of corn, roasted red pepper edamame, and tomatoes. Finally, it's finished with a citrus herb salad with fresh onion and shaved lemon. Emily had Fresh Catch 2, a Caribbean inspiration with Amber Jack. It's a hand seared white, mild fish. It's served over a coconut sriracha butter sauce, so you're getting a little bit of that sweetness, but also spiciness with some sauteed mussels and roasted potatoes, a little bit of pearl onion, and leeks, topped off with fresh herbs and candied lemon. Great chefs are artists, pairing ingredients to stimulate your palate, your olfactory system and your visual aesthetics. It's a remarkable profession. Gina performed her duties as one who truly loves helping people explore dining at its finest and not one under the guise of an ancient wedbedrip. My only regret is that I did not record her exemplary performance as a lesson to all who come after her. From menu knowledge to effective food presentation, Gina had it all. Maybe it helped that the food was so good, but I have a sneaky feeling Gina could turn a dining experience at your local Waffle House into a black-tie affair, though I find it hard to believe she would spend any amount of time jousting with an unreasonable customer request. I asked Gina for one order of the Yellow Fin Tuna and the Amber Jack Sriracha Mussels. Before I even try to describe the array of flavors laid before me, could you look at the pictures? If I rated on presentation alone, this would be 5 Stars, and I would be done. However, as we all know, all I care about is execution. Hey, someone has to taste this stuff! One bite of the Yellow Fin, and I knew I was in the presence of a master chef. I have rarely had any fish taste so extraordinary. The combination of the fresh vegetables and mandarin oranges assured me I had left the ordinary and stepped into the fine dining promised land. I don't know how else to explain it other than it was otherworldly, complex, delightful, and comprised of flavors I didn't know could be combined to achieve such edible bliss. Forcing myself to move on, I placed a forkful of the Amber Jack into my mouth and died a little right there. If the Yellow Fin was all that, this was the bag of chips. The chef used an orange peel to offset the heat of the sriracha and in so doing turned a mild fish into a dazzling array of flavor layers you would expect to find in a Big City seafood joint as opposed to mild-mannered Brevard County. Best dining experience during my three-month visit to the Space Coast from my home in Los Angeles. Went to celebrate a promotion. Sublime experience. So we've been coming here for some time. The restaurant recently reopened after a renovation. The service is still very good, the food is still delicious. The presentation is still appealing. Unfortunately the new interior resembles more of a diner atmosphere like "island pancake house" than what use to look like a fine dining restaurant. Also there is no liquor, so forget about fancy cocktails. At $200 or more for a couple, one wants to dress up, so a certain level of elegance is expected. With much finer environments in the area this oversight just might become a painful mistake. Only time will tell. read more

Wow! Hands down the best food my boyfriend and I have had since visiting the area. This place is perfect for a date night! We tried the gnocchi, cornbread, tuna, and the Creole shrimp and scallops. The gnocchi leaned a little heavy on the garlic for me, but the cornbread was absolutely out of this world. Every dish felt fresh and full of flavor. This is a solid spot. We dined outdoors and the patio ambiance was quite nice. The amuse bouche was a delicious start to the meal. We had the Wild Blue Crab for a starter and it was delicious. For mains my spouse had the Creole Shrimp and Scallops and I had the Swordfish special. My beloved LOVED the shrimp and scallops and said it brought the heat without being overpowering. My swordfish was...good. It was prepared perfectly, but the sauce was not complex and didn't feel seasoned. So, well cooked, just very forgettable. We came to the fat snook after some local recommendations. We didn't have a reservation but they did have bar and patio seating and we opted for the patio. We got the crab cake to start along with the fresh catch of the day for entrees. They also brought out a spoon with a taster on it to "open up our palates" before our entrees arrived. First time dinner her tonight. Mostly looking for some good seafood. They had fresh snapper with a bed of mushroom risotto and arctic char from Nova Scotia with some baby carrots and sweet potato purée as entrees. Adjacent table said the mushroom bisque was way too salty so we stayed away from that. We did try the Caribbean corn bread with sweet butter that was pretty good. Also had the maple candy glazed scallop starter that was way too sweet for me, but my wife used the leftover sauce for dipping her cornbread. They had a decent wine list, with a nice variety albeit over priced and lacking vintages. I had a glass of the house recommended red (too sweet) and the Malbec by the glass which was ok. We passed on the deserts. I kinda felt that the menu was well constructed, but the food was just ok. Never eaten here before, so maybe the A team had Sunday night off. Service from Kevin and front of the house was commendable. Ambiance was a bit austere and considering the location I would not call it a good date night experience. We spent about $250 for 4 glasses of wine the light starters and the 2 entrees with a $40 tip. Overall too much for an unmemorable meal. Probably won't go a second time. Bon appetite! read more

They measured EVERYONE'S temperature upon entering, which wow!! Could not have felt more comfortable anywhere else. They answered all our questions, made suggestions. They suggested a sour mango beer, that on a hot night it was a perfect pairing. I had the lobster bisque with coconut milk, which was a different take and a surprisingly superb outcome. Our table ordered 1 of all the appetizers, and shared. The rock shrimp poutine was off the charts. The Mexican street corn was the chefs take on what's sold on the streets, but much more refined. Also had the Bulgoki, which is a sort pancake with steak, delicious. Seared scallop with polenta, was beyond good, I could eat this breakfast lunch and dinner. I had just a side order of the Brussels because honestly, I knew it was way too much food for the table. The sprouts, were ridiculous good. My husband had the Thai steak salad, and of course he could not finish. So I had a taste, and I only wish I wasn't so full so I could have had it. It was really tasty. Our friend had the lobster BLT and she said it was amazing. We ordered pasta for this kids and one of them asked for seconds, so yeah that says it all. My husband wouldn't stop raving about how clever the chef pair his/her food and how delicate everything tasted. For example, the poblano pesto shrimp was great. Not because of the pesto or poblano but how well the shrimp tasted as it pairs with the grits. We also tried one of their specials, the crab cake. Wow, it totally blew my mind. Blue crab mixed with an Asian flare. It was subtle yet flavourful. The sweet and sour sauce was on point. I wish we. An find something like this back home. We started with cocktails, I had one with a nod to the apple, complete with dehydrated apple slices and it was delish! Light and fruity but not too sweet. Refreshing and so flavorful. I love appetizers so we both got one, I tried the crab special and my husband got the seared scallops. The crab special was nice, a light crab salad, a larger portion than I expected, and it was lovely. I wasn't a big fan of the corn panna cotta base, it seemed a bit bitter to me, but no harm to enjoy the rest. My husband's choice however, was the bomb! The perfectly seared scallops lay atop banana polenta and were covered with a salty/sweet layer of mapley, bacony goodness! I had a small bite and it was rich and wonderful...definitely an app not to miss! I had to have the beet salad, as they are traditionally a fave of mine and that was my big win! Two or three different types of beets, the thinnest of sliced radishes, and tiny crunchy balls of creamy and tart goat cheese goodness...I took half home as it was huge and enjoyed it even more the next day, I think. For our meals, we ordered the fresh catch #2 and the duck...again, both were amazing - light white fish, cooked perfectly and laid on a bed of avocado crema, bulgar and green beans and his duck was atop a berm of creamy parsnip mash (which was heavenly) and accompanied by a multi fruit compote and the most melt-in-your-mouth duck lardons ever...I'm not sure how they simply dissolved on your tongue but they did, leaving just a whisper of rich decadence. After all that, we were stuffed, but we grabbed a banana tart to go and noshed on it at midnight - from the box with two forks, it was WELL enjoyed! The food here is amazing!!! The Is Place is mainly only known by locals but is just minutes form downtown coco and a must try. Food was incredible and had a great ambiance as well. They have a very nice wine selection to chose from featuring many different whites and reds. Beer selection is a bit limited but still very good. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great seafood option close to the beach. This will will be my new go to seafood restaurant when visiting Coco Beach. The Mango filet mignon appetizer was exceptional and Tanner our server was awesome!! He made some really good recommendations and I will definitely be back. read more

They did a great job distancing us but providing a great experience at the same time. We ordered the Bulgogi , Coconut Lobster Bisque, Brussels, Corn Bread, Duck, The Market Fish - Grouper, Chocolate Pound Cake & Key-lime Pie. Everything was AMAZING. I would describe myself as a steak person but for health reason trying to eat more fish. The grouper could easily replace my steak. It was so buttery and good. We were pleased with everything! What a wonderful find! This place exudes top notch. We stopped in for a glass of wine and an appetizer to begin my husbands 73rd birthday. Unfortunately we didn't stay for full dinner service.
