We started with cocktails, I had one with a nod to the apple, complete with dehydrated apple slices and it was delish! Light and fruity but not too sweet. Refreshing and so flavorful. I love appetizers so we both got one, I tried the crab special and my husband got the seared scallops. The crab special was nice, a light crab salad, a larger portion than I expected, and it was lovely. I wasn't a big fan of the corn panna cotta base, it seemed a bit bitter to me, but no harm to enjoy the rest. My husband's choice however, was the bomb! The perfectly seared scallops lay atop banana polenta and were covered with a salty/sweet layer of mapley, bacony goodness! I had a small bite and it was rich and wonderful...definitely an app not to miss! I had to have the beet salad, as they are traditionally a fave of mine and that was my big win! Two or three different types of beets, the thinnest of sliced radishes, and tiny crunchy balls of creamy and tart goat cheese goodness...I took half home as it was huge and enjoyed it even more the next day, I think. For our meals, we ordered the fresh catch #2 and the duck...again, both were amazing - light white fish, cooked perfectly and laid on a bed of avocado crema, bulgar and green beans and his duck was atop a berm of creamy parsnip mash (which was heavenly) and accompanied by a multi fruit compote and the most melt-in-your-mouth duck lardons ever...I'm not sure how they simply dissolved on your tongue but they did, leaving just a whisper of rich decadence. My first visit was during the 2018 October Flavor! FLORIDA TODAY Dining Month, and we loved every bit of the experience. We recently came in for a midweek dinner date without a reservation, and potentially risked not being seated. The dining room isn't large, and from what I could tell there are only few tables that will accomodate a group larger than four. I strongly recommend getting in the habit of making reservations, for any day of the week. Drinks - Beer and wine only, however a nice selection. Great wines by the glass and some really nice bottles to choose from as well. Menu - Certainly a Florida seafood-oriented menu, though accommodating for the strictest carnivore as well. You can count on fresh seafood for the daily specials. Amuse - We were started off with an amuse of a delicate pastry puff with goat cheese, celery and red onion. Wonderfully presented and bite-size, and packed with flavor. Starters - Seared Jumbo Scallop and Roasted Beet Salad. The Seared Jumbo Scallops were perfectly cooked and the sear was well seasoned and on point. The accompanying banana polenta and bacon marmalade are what honestly, dreams are made of. Clearly we loved it! The Roasted Beet Salad was a delicately dressed and assembled. Lots of flavor is discovered in every bite. Entrees - Bombay Seafood Pie and Grilled Duck Breast. The Bombay Seafood Pie was every bit of comfort food we were looking for. It's a rather large portion and plenty of scallops in the pie. The Grilled Duck Breast stole the show, as it did for me back in October. The temperature was perfect and the parsnips puree and mostarda bring it all together every time. The cracklings are my guilty pleasure. Dessert - Nutella Chess Pie. Yeah, they basically had me at Nutella. To top this off, the pie is dressed with hazelnuts and an orange-scented whipped cream. Seriously, you can't make this up! Decor - Coastal contemporary. Dim-lit dining room with uncluttered tables and a substantially intimate setting. Service - Super passionate and knowledgeable staff. Again, small dining room and the staff certainly knows how to work the room in an efficient manner. With exception of the food expeditor, we interacted exclusively with our server. This is a gem on A1A in Cocoa Beach. Scratch kitchen with incredible food, especially the seafood and desserts, key lime is delicious. Atmosphere is cozy and upscale but kid friendly as well. Service has always been very good. Great selection of beer and wine, note they do not have full bar. Parking can be a bit of a challenge but usually you can find a spot. Our only hiccup was that the happy hour was not explained correctly, it was supposed to be all appetizer are half off EXCEPT the oysters. We ordered a few and when the bill came that wasn't the case, the mushroom bisque is "considered a soup and salad but in the appetizer section." Happy to report that this was hands down the finest meal I've had in all of Brevard County. In our party of 4 we had two swordfish specials, a snapper special, and a filet. All were executed perfectly. I was delighted with each plate that came - the blue crab croquette, the chef's take on deviled eggs, and the oysters were all delicious. I'm dreaming about the deviled eggs even as I write this. It's a must do if you go. Best swordfish I have had as well. You would be hard pressed to find quality cuts like this at a local Publix. One of the best restaurants we've been to in the area. Super cute coastal vibe inside and crazy delicious food. Like, so good I hugged our waiter when we left. All of the appetizers we got were fantastic (deviled eggs, blue crab feature, and mussels), and the entrees were amazing (duck, flat iron as part of the piece fixe, poblano shrimp, and creole shrimp & scallops). My partner and I wanted to try The Fat Snook due to good reviews we saw. We made a reservation for the restaurant and requested outdoor seating since we are not comfortable eating inside yet. Preface: Food rating is a four but knocked off a star due to our service experience. We show up for our reservation and were told by the host that our table still had guests sitting at it. We inquired about outdoor seating and said we requested it if possible for our reservation. The host sat us outside at a table that had no plate settings or glasses. The host did not bring us menus either. Her said someone would be with us shortly. The host never came back. My partner and I waited 15 minutes and not a server or the host came out to help us or bring us a plates and glasses etc. My partner had to go find someone to help us. The host was not at his stand but a waiter did ask my partner what he needed and we said we have been sitting outside for 15 minutes and nobody has helped us. The waiter came and helped us out! I do not know if we were even in his section or not but he stepped up and took care of us! The Food I would rate a 4. I knocked off a star due to our service experience. The food did not disappoint us! The food was good! For a starter we ordered the Crab Louis. It was delicious and we both got a great helping. The flavors were great! We would order this starter again. For entrees we ordered the poblano pesto shrimp and the creole shrimp and scallops. Both dishes were flavorful. I had a bunch of key west pink shrimp in my dish and the pumpkin grits tasted great. My partner liked the way his scallops were cooked and the sauce did not overpower the dish. The restaurant is located between Cocoa Beach and PAFB. Right off A1A. If you are visiting from out of state and looking for a good place to eat look no further. The restaurant is by no means a upscale place but rather a cozy local vibe type. Parking is available around to restaurants or right off A1A and it's free, no Valet parking, but tight. So if you want to go in your 488 GTB might want to go in your SUV. Seating is available inside for the most part and a few out door tables as well. Based on my calculations they have 6 tables set out door each of them sitting around 4 people. It is tight and can be a bit hot especially during summer months. It does have a small bar area and a women and men's bathroom. As far as location, style, and presentation the restaurant gets a 3/5. However, the food is awesome for the most part and this is the reason for going! We got the fish dip, coconut lobster bisque, duck, and shrimp with scallops. We also had desserts but this was not at the same level as our starters and main course. The fish dip was fresh and good, well balanced and was not overpowered by the sauce. The bisque was pleasantly different with a delightfully unique flavor. It had a touch of sour/lemon taste which was not overpowering but subtle to the taste buds. The grilled duck breast was well cooked and amazing! I also had the creole shrimp and scallops with rice. Overall the food was great and had a New Orleans vibe slightly spicy. My main course had a "jambalaya" vibe and I was very good but the spice was a bit too much for me. The dessert did fall short in comparison to the rest of the meal. We started with the seafood charcuterie, which turned out to be our favorite item of the night. While the octopus terrine wasn't particularly flavorful, all the other items--salmon rillette, smoked fish pate--and the accompanying salads and relishes were wonderful. The blue crab was also excellent. The single soft shell crab topped an amazing piece of cornbread. My wife's wet jerk pork ribeye was very good, better than the mahi mahi fish special I had.
