Wow! This is a beautiful Hotel with such a friendly and helpful group of people! The common area is inviting and the bar is stocked with wonderful wines and draft beer! I had a local beef that I have been lo king for everywhere!!! It is black grout oatmeal stout-nitro We browsed through the menu and the selection was mouth watered! We were here for the Inspired Women 2017 Conference! The brunch served in the Firebrand dining area was fantastic! The staff not only handled this rowdy, wonderful and enthusiastic bunch they EMBRACED us and were so very accommodating and professional! The food was excellent and there was plenty for everyone!!!! We stopped in for a cocktail after an afternoon of sledding. The bar opens at 4 so we sat by the fire for 30 minutes waiting and chatting! Come 4:00 the waiter helped everyone who was walking up before even asking us for a drink order . We were the 1st ones in by 30 min. After asking to place a drink order it took 45 minutes for the drinks to arrive.. One drink was wrong and wasn't corrected until I had to walk up to the bartender specifically! We all know there is a staffing shortage so I understand things can happen but a quick apology or maybe just some effort would be appreciated.. Mostly my issue was a $20 tip added to 7 drinks with out telling us! That's a first for me where the waiter did not tell us the tip was added. No reason for that at all! Just a shady move if you ask me.. the tip being automatically added with no communication is my drive for the review . one star for ambiance because it's super cute and cozy in there! read more

Ohhhh Firebrand....you could be so good if you really wanted to..... A group of friends and I arrived at 8:45 on a Monday night looking for tapas, drinks and dessert. We were told by the waitress Allison that we only had 15 minutes to order til the kitchen closed, that we better order soon, that she was here eating dinner with her husband and usually worked the morning shift, that she had to be at work the following morning...but she was the only one there other than the bar tender and so she felt obligated to serve us..... Well, of course that didn't make us feel welcome...but we are all local foodies so of course we had to test this place out... We ordered the Wagyu Sliders, Crab Arancini, three Creme Brulees, a Cookie Skillet, several Chocolate Martinis, a Drunken Pumpkin, a couple of Manhattans, and an espresso. They we're out of the Huckleberry Mud Pie. The tapas we're outstanding. I would get them again. The Brulees were not well set up but very tasty. Compliments to the chef!! The service was, as described, questionable and confusing. Why aren't there enough staff? Why would Allison feel obligated to serve us off duty? What was up with the bar tender? The first Chocolate Martini was outstanding, the other two...not so much... chocolate swirl was forgotten, too much vodka....he was rude to my friend. The Drunken Pumpkin tasted, as described by my friend, nothing like it sounded. We asked to have it remade and it wasn't any better....the bar tender was irritated we asked... My most disappointing discovery....they advertise a Shrimple Monday Special online and they didn't offer it to us...what gives??? A far cry from the service and consistency we had just come from at Latitude 48. Attempted to eat here with my family on vacation & they refused to serve us. We had a party of 12 & told them we would split up into groups to make it easier on them & we were in no rush (they only had 3 other tables occupied in the restraunt). This is a tough one. I am a local girl and was out with my 6 friends on a Monday night for our 16th wedding anniversary. We strolled in "late" around 8:45p and instantly felt unwanted. We were quickly informed the kitchen was closing soon and it would even be difficult to get drinks. Now, if we were unruly or drunk or something this would make sense. But this was not the case. Then we were told that the bar was open till 11p. So...then I guess it would be okay to get a drink. ?? What about dessert? Such a mess. We apparently were being waited on by the morning manager who just came in for dinner with her husband...she wasn't even on shift and was drinking with her dinner. We did eventually see the bartender, but only when we walked up to the bar. There were about 10 people there. So, not so busy on a Monday that we couldn't have gotten adequate service. We ended up ordering (maybe out of spite) the arancini, wagyu sliders, three creme brûlées, and chocolate cookie. Then we got two manhattans, a cappuccino, 2 chocolate martinis and a drunken pumpkin. When we went to order a certain drink, he informed us all the things he couldn't make due to ingredients, so my sister ordered a drunken pumpkin. She did not like her drunken pumpkin, it tasted just not right, so I took it up to Keith who was pretty crappy about switching it out. He was rude. After I waited patiently for him, I told him it didn't taste right and he grabbed it and threw it down the drain. And charged me for that drink. The chocolate martini he made instead tasted terrible too. It's not about the alcohol its about the flavor. And he somehow thought that if he dumped a ton of vodka into it, we would somehow be okay with it. Nope. Tasted like vodka and some chocolate milk. While the first one made, was made the way it should have tasted. The food was actually super tasty. And if it wasn't for the service which as you know dominates a lot of your experience, I might consider returning. The sauce for the sliders was very tasty and so was the sauce for the arancini. I loved how they were with forbidden black rice. I liked this touch very much. The brûlées were so tasty and would have liked to have tried the huckleberry mudpie, but they were out. The kitchen is the star of this show, while service brings it down to crap level. Allison tried to make up for it, but it just didn't work. Once we told her we were local she tried to change her treatment of us, but that kinda made us irritated. See, we locals live off the service industry and the tourist industry. Many of us have jobs directly affected by tourists. Sure it can be sometimes annoying, but you want to live? you want to eat? Tourism. mic drop. There should not be a disparity between how we treat locals and how we treat out of towners. Not in Whitefish, not anywhere. The overwhelming horrible service, will bite these guys for years to come. See, I don't just come to visit once a summer, or once in my life, I live down the street. So, this is a sad review for me and a sad experience. I will not be wasting my time coming back and will not be bringing any more friends here. Sorry, because I would have liked to try that huck mudpie. read more

If I could give this hotel more than five stars, I would in a heartbeat. My boyfriend & I came here for our Thanksgiving vacation to spend the Holidays with my family. This hotel has a stylish rustic twist throughout which made it feel like you were staying in an upscale winter lodge. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with a smile! The restaurant & bar had a cozy, modern ambiance with a fireplace and upbeat music in the background. Their coffee bar makes fresh muffins every morning & just warning you in advance, the huckleberry ones are dangerously good! The rooms are inviting with the options of moody lighting. A "don't want to get out of bed" mattress, large walk-in shower, and spacey closets. Also, three words... rooftop hot tub. Relaxing while enjoying the stunning views of the surrounding mountains is the perfect way to unwind. Unexpectedly, my grandma on the East Coast had passed away during our stay & we had to leave immediately. The staff was more than sympathetic & accommodating to our situation and refunded our money for the days we were unable to be there. Being in a state of duress, I can't thank the Firebrand enough for their hospitality. Receiving this type of above-and-beyond customer service during a difficult time is rare & appreciate it more than they know. We are already looking forward to staying here again. French toast with Marion berries was phenomenal. The bacon was perfectly crispy and delightfully crunchy and their over easy eggs were cooked to perfection with just the yolk being runny. The buckwheat pancakes might need more tweaking as I wasn't too delighted by the unsalted butter and the pancakes were a little bland but man the French toast made up for it in spades. I think the pancakes are a good kids item as kids usually don't like too much complexity. Their customer service is also phenomenal and the atmosphere is perfect for a family gathering. We weren't thinking about the time and arrived right before the kitchen closed but they were gracious enough to let us still put in orders and even got us a latte when by all accounts their kitchen and cafe were closed. We have been waiting for this place to open...and it has and the decor is rustic elegant! We sat at beautiful concrete bar and ordered drinks. They have beer and wine but a great assortment! We had the Calamari and Wagyu Sliders were excellent! Lara the bartender was personable and knowledgable! We enjoyed the entire experience. The sliders were sooooo good! Be careful giving Lexi your credit card. My husband and I have gone here a few times. This last time, Lexi refused to charge us the advertised price for happy hour drinks, told other customers she had worked there for a year, and then added a FRAUDULENT tip of $32.00 onto our bill without our knowledge. I have spoken to McKenzie, the day manager, and Ricky, the food and beverage manager, and they support these actions by continuing to employ Lexi. So I can't give it a low rating because I didn't like the food. I love this hotel it's exquisite. I have been wanting to try this restaurant, it was happy hour on the holiday weekend do why not. Should have left. Came for a NYE dinner. After being seated it took the waitress forever to come to the table. I regret not walking out. The waitress claimed she didn't see us which was not correct as she looked right at us on more that one occasion. Never acknowledged us. The service was poor took forever and the food was average. My wife sent back her fish entree because it was under cooked and had an off smell. There are to many other good places to go so no need to come here. We will never return. read more

We were pleasantly surprised with this restaurant. We stayed at the hotel and ate here several times as it was very convenient and we were allowed to sit in the lobby with our dog. We pretty much tried everything on the menu that wasn't seafood or fish and enjoyed it all. My favorites included the pot stickers, the patatas, the baby wedge, and queso. The staff was always extremely friendly and they have a great wine selection. The atmosphere is cozy but contemporary. I would definitely return on the future. read more

We stopped by for happy hour on a Thursday night and were excited to give this place a shot. The $6 duck wings (4 total) were pretty tasty and the $6 Brie platter was also fairly decent-- nothing "wow" worthy, but nice to snack on. We were surprised to hear that many of the beers on tap were out of stock (missed a shipment somehow?!) but were still happy to grab one of the others for $4. The honey Hefeweizen tasted more like a slightly spiked apple juice than a beer, but the scotch ale was rich and flavorful. I have been coming to the Firebrand Hotel since it opened. We previously stayed elsewhere in Whitefish but couldn't help to try the place out as Whitefish is one of the places we frequently vacation since we live so close. I never write reviews. I hate them. Unfortunately, my last experience with Averill Hospitality (the parent company for the Lodge at Whitefish and for the Firebrand Hotel) have left me no choice. This past weekend my fiancé and I stayed at the Firebrand. I had saved up for this trip for months. Upon the day of check-out when I had returned home I found that I had been double charged for my room and that my incidentals hold had not been released. This was devastating to my financial situation. I called them immediately and expressed my shock at being charged almost $700 extra. The front desk employee said she'd take notes and get back to me. I asked that this problem be solved sooner and spoke to someone else who assured me that I'd be refunded. Days later I still had not been refunded. I have called and emailed them to no avail. I keep being reassured that I will be refunded. Currently, my bank has suspended my account, leaving me no way to pay for my essentials. The Firebrand's lack of urgency surrounding this issue has wreaked havoc on my life, caused me to be late for essential payments such as insurance, and their response has been "We're sorry. That is not up to our standard" and "We've refunded your account, be patient" Maybe management at the Firebrand can afford to wait a week or so for a $700 charge to be refunded, I however cannot. The way that they have responded to this with apathy and irritation towards my issue has been a huge disappointment to me. I have been a repeat customer, have referred my friends and family to this hotel, put it as a preferred place to stay on my wedding website, and even stayed there for important holidays. I have never had an experience this bad with any hotel in my life. They have basically sat on their hands and allowed me to have to make numerous phone calls to my financial institution and insurance companies. read more

This place is reasonably-decorated, however in reality, besides the decent interior, it's garbage. It has the same low-ball lack of attention to customer service as is the standard in western montana. We stayed there for 3 nights and here are the pros and cons. Pro: cleanliness- hotel is very clean and decor is modern and nice. There is no daily cleaning service due to Covid. You can ask for extra amenities but no cleaning. Con: very icy staffs. Every where we visited in MT, people are super nice and friendly, except this hotel staff. I don't know what it is, we got very stuck up people. We had breakfast here and it was fine. We also had dinner. Steak was expensive but good. Don't try the onion soup, it's not great. Salads were good. Overall, I wouldn't return. Too expensive for the attitude read more

It's a nice looking hotel so I finally stopped by for lunch. I ordered the Caesar Salad and a drink. The waitress delivered a bowl of lettuce with no dressing. I thought she would take it away and have them make me a "Caesar Salad as I ordered. Instead she brought a plastic cup with some kind of creamy dressing. It was awful. The coffee was good. New hotel, still working things out. Despite all that, we really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are spacious as are the bathrooms. We were placed in a room on the 3rd floor, really quiet and comfortable. The beds and pillows were awesome, with ample space for hanging up your items. We were charged for items that we did not take from the mini-bar, which is odd... One day, our room was not made up, also a bummer, but we lived with it (just requested more towels). The little cafe/bar downstairs makes amazing latte's and the girls who work there were just amazing. It was the highlight of our morning, every morning. We sat int he lobby one evening for some wine and food - also very good. We ordered the crab stuffed artichokes, steak frites and sliders, all delicious and prepared very nicely. I am confused by the 3.5 rating we ate at the Firebrand twice during our stay, both times a hit. First was breakfast which included a brunch and breakfast menu. We shared a Brie and fruit plate, husband had French Toast and I had Duck Bacon Benedict. Everything well prepared and service was good. Second meal was dinner, Recently Firebrand added a 5 course Chef meal by reservation. We signed up and included the wine pairing. What a treat! Every course was a taste delight and featured local fare as described by Chef Tommy. I have a hard time choosing my favorite, cauliflower soup featuring smoked cauliflower or rattlesnake sausage or maybe the beet goat cheese salad or the filet that melted in my mouth or the maybe the frozen custard with dark chocolate?
