I had lunch here. Really good. Their menu says a lot of their salad dressings are created in house. So I asked if this was true for their Greek salad and it is made in house. Well - their Greek salad is amazing. No need to add meat unless desired as the basic salad is filling and tasty. I got the small and was quite satisfied with both the portion size, the variety of items, the dressing, and the overall taste. The combination of Greek olives with a high quality Feta cheese and ripe tomatoes was delightful. The field greens added to the mix of taste sensations. This May be the best pizza in Idaho Falls, but It comes with a hefty cost. The appetizers are also very good. It can be loud, but is more fun than annoying. Good place for kids or to watch a game- lots of tvs in the bar. There are tables in the bar with full service in case you want to watch the game with kids. read more

I had dinner here Alone. The waiter was the worst I've experienced in a long time. First he ignored me when I sat down while waiting on several groups that arrived after me. Then he never brought my drink until I asked a second time. The food, Lodgepole Breadsticks and French Onion Soup, was ok but nothing special. At least food arrived hot, but not especially tasty. Back to the waiter - he only checked on me after I was nearly done eating. I had to ask for a drink refill. Ultimately, I had to ask for the bill after purposely sitting for an extended time to see if he would bring it. Quality and taste was what would can expect from these types of places between 3 and 4 starts with a couple of 2s. So why 1 star? I showed the waitress the check-in in offer which had a free desert with the purchase of a large pizza which we had in our group. The waitress didn't know about it and said said talk to the manager. She came back saying that they aren't honoring that coupon anymore. Really? It's not my fault the establishment forgot to remove it's offer. Apparently not much people use yelp here, so I don't think it's going to break the bank to honor what you put up. We have been here a couple times and each time the pizza has been very good. Our first experience was in the normal seating section. There was still dried food that was wiped from the table to the seats . I brushed it to the ground and sat. The table top was still greasy looking and we requested to be cleaned which our waitress did. Once given our drinks and order she forgot about us until we flagged her down to go. Our second experience was at the bar. The pizza ,fries ,and drinks were great. The bar area was cleaned and the servers were friendly and attentive . A great takeout meal from MacKenzie River. We got the Street Tacos and a large rancher. The Street Tacos are really a great value at $7.00 and for $2.00 more for added ground beef. The Rancher pizza is one of our go to favs and it was perfect as well. The takeout was prompt and very well done. The key to the takeout is when you get home is to heat everything up in the oven using the broiler. DO NOT USE THE MICROWAVE. The broiler gives the right heat w/o making it mushy. Even with the Grizzly burger I separate everything and broil then including the fries. But especially with the pizza. Put the top down first then flip it over to the top. Watch the broiler closely do not walk away. Look for the oils to boil up on the food and usually it ready then about a minute after that. We went to Mackenzie River last night to Watch Boise State Game. We sat at the bar. Our server was awesome! She went above and beyond to make everyone in the bar area happy. The place was very busy and she was alone. She cut her hand on a broken glass and just wrapped it. She continued to run her butt off. The manager came and she was able to get some help for the cut. They were so short handed for a New Year's Eve night with a local team playing football! This was our favorite place but the food has gone down hill! For the price it should be much better! Mackenzie River Pizza is listed on multiple travel and food sites as a "must try" in Montana. We didn't get a chance to make it while we were in MT, so it worked out that we found one in Idaho Falls. I was a little skeptical about the 3.5 stars, but I figured we'd give it a shot, anyway. Why not? We pulled into a super full parking lot, and there were quite a few people waiting for a table. It was only a short wait, but I figured with that many people there, it can't be that bad. ...well... it wasn't bad at all!! The pizza was amazing. Cheese was melted perfectly, and the crust was something I'd eat all on its own. I stole a bit of my son's baked ziti, and that was also pretty great. I enjoyed their noodle consistency. (I know that makes me sound SUPER finicky, but I swear I'm not.) The staff was also nice, and the place --including the restroom-- was clean. I'll CERTAINLY be back here to eat. read more

My son and I went here and had a great dining experience with their friendly staff! CJ was our waitress and she was outstanding! I had the fish and chips whilst my son had the Philly cheesesteak sandwich. They had malt vinegar available for your fish! CJ let us try some of the cowboy butter and a couple of bread sticks. It was delicious spiced butter! The place was spotless. My last visit I had there was mediocre but this visit was A+. We took some chicken penne home for my wife, highly recommend that as well! With the surrounding businesses on a massive wait, my husband and I settled on MacKenzie's for what we thought would be a quick drink, but turned into an entire afternoon! The sweet hostess at the front asked what game we were interested in watching (as they seat people according to that - brilliant!) and led us to the outdoor patio to watch the Packers. Our server quickly came over, took our drink order and proceeded to check back in with us frequently. When we ultimately decided to stay for the long haul, we opted for a large pepperoni pizza and side Caesar salad which was perfectly portioned, fresh and totally hit the spot. We were in Idaho Falls for a work trip and ate at Mackenzie River as a group one night. I don't normally think of Idaho Falls as a gold mine for food spots. But this place really surprised me. Our server kept saying, "Ours is a little different," when it came to a standard take on something. I debated between a Hot Hawaiian (minus jalapenos) pizza and the fish & chips. Our server suggested that if I don't get the pizza as-is, I should get the fish and chips. He was right, everything on their menu was "a little bit different" in the best way. I am new to the area and was very excited to try this place.. what a disappointment! We arrived before noon on a weekday so it wasn't busy. The floors were so sticky that our shoes were sticking to it. The tables and menus were also very sticky and dirty. When we ordered we were asked if we wanted ranch or fry sauce with no mention that there would be an additional charge. I ordered Alfredo pasta that was worse than a frozen microwaveable dinner. The "Alfredo" sauce was watery and had zero flavor. The broccoli in the pasta was frozen and the ends were brown. Another member at my table ordered a house salad and the lettuce was old, wilted and brown. The server came back once during our meal to fill up our waters and never asked how our food was. I had to get up to ask for more napkins and she was too busy chatting with someone at the bar and the bartender paid more attention to me than our server. We will NOT be returning. I can spend $17 on way better pasta somewhere else. read more

This was a good dining experience. The service was great, we were seated fast and got a nice table by the window. We ordered some Thai Peanut boneless wings. They tasted like my favorite sesame chicken. Very tasty! I got the poutine burger because... well... poutine is the best thing ever. The poutine was great! The burger was over cooked.
