This was a fun lil stop on a Friday night for the guy and I. We found ourselves here after looking up "patio" and seeing that this bar was known for their dry rub wings. The staff here was very friendly and helped us each make a selection of what we were drinking, and then we ended up mixing two of the flavor options for a single portion of wings. We chose red hot riplet, and buffalo and headed outdoors to find a spot outside. Turns out we were the only people here so find in a spot wasn't too hard. Atmosphere wasn't bad, plenty of space to lounge and you can tell they get pretty busy later in the night. (We were here around 7pm) The cook came out and turned the string lights on and ensured we were comfortable and shortly after came back with our wings. These were crazy good, so we got another order. Stopped by this place based on some local recommendation s - I was not disappointed! Angel (chef and co-owner) was incredibly nice and served up some amazing tacos and some solid hsuh-puppies. The habanero salsa was excellent and clearly home-made. I appreciated the local feel and the great conversations I had with him. If you're looking for a relaxed, fun atmosphere with a local feel, this is a great one to try. I'll definitely be back! read more

First time experience was less then stellar. Went there in part because of Yelp reviews and because they participate in a rewards program we use as an incentive to try new places. Always try to support small local establishments. On the pro side we enjoyed our server who was doing the best she could as she was taking orders and pouring drinks, it was taco night and the tacos were excellent. Parking was easy. They have a really good beer selection. On the less than positive side. We did not feel welcomed by the owner. Never looked at us or acknowledged our existence. Our server was busy serving a group on the patio that had arrived while we're there. I would have loved another beer but couldn't get her attention and the owner was doing zilch to help her. Ordered a burger medium rare and it came out well. This is a pet leave of mine. If you can't cook a burger to order just tell me. I'll order something else. We also attempted to order their taco pizza. We are always in search of a good one and it would keep us coming back. Server took the order but came back and said that the owner told her they no longer made them? Seemed like an arbitrary thing, heck it was taco Tuesday! Visiting St Louis Missouri for the weekend and looking for some late night eats. I was dubious of eating at a dive bar, but this has to be the best dive bar food that I've ever had! I ordered the street tacos and they were fantastic. Our friend ordered the chicken quesadilla and it was fantastic as well. Drinks are very reasonably priced, and the Ambiance is awesome. The bathrooms are super clean and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend this place! I will be going again before heading back again miami! read more

We are very happy we found the Rec Room since we hadn't eaten all day. We flew into St. Louis for a few days and everywhere we tried to eat was already closed. We lucked out and saw the Rec Room which was still serving food. It's a cozy bar experience with great food. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak sandwich which was full of thinly cut meat covered with peppers and mushrooms and covered with lots of cheese. I would definitely pick this bar for the atmosphere and the delicious food. We feel lucky we found the area Room and will be back soon. PS We thought it was so good we went back last night and had more delicious food. Two nights in a row. read more

They have a small menu, but what they make is what I call, "better than it has to be bar food." Meaning we didn't come in to the bar to drink, we came into eat. It's warm cozy spot with a great patio when the weather is nicer. Sometimes the bar tenders get a little overwhelmed but will make sure once you get service. read more

Incredible friendly service! This is a ma-n-pa restaurant and the owner made my chicken alfredo pizza. It was freshly made and had a great smoked taste. I loved that they stay open late (like until 11). I'd stop by again my next time I visit St Louis. read more

After reading other reviews but different men and women it came to me that this must be a nice place to go on a "date" per se. It seemed as though the reviews I was reading were all from so-called "couples". However I did enjoy the few beverages I had and an appetizer. It was quaint and simple. Didn't have to be all obnoxious and rowdy. And it was so awesome to be able to hold a conversation. Anyone give their burger a try....the one with the pretzel bun. I'll probably go back some other time and try something different. I hear their tacos are good. And service was alright. read more

We stopped here on the way home from visiting our son in college. It was the only place open after 10 near our hotel so we gave it a try. It is amazing they can make such good food out of the tiny little corner kitchen they have. The fish tacos were excellent. I don't like french fries, but my wife had some fries with her meal and they were addicting. I think the best french fries I've ever had. Her meal was very good as well. And as a bonus, the owners/bartenders are delightful and even made sure we had water to go to our hotel. read more

Delicious. Tiny place but we sat on the patio. We had the chicken ranch sandwhich with fries and the hog which was a great barbecue sandwhich with coleslaw and jalepenoe strips. So good, so great.Attentive service and all meals on lunch special from 11-3. Great bang for the buck. read more

Friendly venue owned by a nice, hardworking, couple. They opened here right before the pandemic but managed to weather that storm and now seem to be doing well. The food is not simply 'bar food'; it's surprisingly fresh and varied with lots of great options. The fresh tacos never disapoint! Also, Jen Stuvy always does a great job as the 'KJ' during karaoke on Saturday nights. Their large outoor back patio is a great option for larger parties, as well. read more

Stopped in here for quick lunch on recommendation of a friend. Was pleasantly surprised to find tasty street tacos with a uniquely spicy salsa at a neighborhood bar on Lackland (also polished off some toasted ravs). I came for a late lunch so it was pretty empty but it looks like the kind of place where you could get comfortable after work. Couple of pool tables, foosball, enough TVs to watch the game, etc. Few craft beers and a cider on tap along with AB products. Nice deck/patio. Stop in and give it a shot! read more

Not exactly what I was expecting. Went in for a late lunch/early dinner. It was just me and the gentleman working. I assumed he might be the owner. He offered me the taco special...$1.50 tacos. Good deal but I wasn't in the mood for tacos. I ordered a burger. He made the burger and fries himself. Food was decent. I asked for a couple of basic things like mayo that he didn't have. Overall, he was a very pleasant man and the food was ok. I would say this is definitely more of a bar and the food is just a bonus if your drinking and you're hungry.
