This review is regarding the Fish Gallery Aquarium and Design service. I finally decided to purchase my dream aquarium in December of 2023. I decided to work with the Fish Gallery but do not live close to one, so I called and was connected with Dean. We discussed what I wanted which was a full setup including a 195-gallon bowfront aquarium, stand, and canopy. I was told that I could request a custom stain color for the cabinetry, which I wanted since I was moving into a new home and wanted to match the wood tones in the new house. I did finally receive the tank in June 2024, but there were problems... TLDR: Serious issues with design, execution, and quality of a very expensive aquarium. Horrible communication and customer service. I made a huge mistake choosing to work with the Fish Gallery and I recommend you avoid them. PROBLEMS: 1. (I should have seen the early signs and backed out of this deal). I asked Dean multiple times for the dimensions of the cabinetry internal space and door openings so I could arrange for a sump that I wanted to fit my needs. He basically refused to provide me this information even with multiple requests. It seems that he wanted to sell me his sump, which ended up being a 30-gallon Aqueon aquarium with a cheap plastic drop in piece that holds very little media. This DIY looking "sump" cost me $445, is grossly inadequate for a 195-gallon aquarium, and is not something one expects to see on a $10K + aquarium. 2. Delivery Day. The very first thing I noticed was that the stain on the cabinetry was very wrong! I am at fault for accepting the delivery and not returning it immediately, I admit that. Initially I thought it was my fault, since this aquarium order/purchase took place over many months and I was in the process of renovating and then moving into a new house, I thought maybe I wasn't clear about what I wanted. After reviewing all of my communications with Dean and the Fish Gallery, I found the email where I told him exactly what stain to use including the brand, the stain name/color, and a picture sample of the color. The stain I requested is not anywhere close to what I received. 3. Leak!!! Within a few weeks, the aquarium developed a leak in the plumbing!! I called in to their customer service people a few times with no answer. Finally, I left a message informing them of the situation. You wonder what they did for this situation? Well, they did nothing. No answer, no call back. I had buckets and towels under the leak for a week. A leak on a 195-gallon aquarium is a pretty big deal, they did nothing, no response at all. I ended up repairing the leak myself. 4. Quality. The 72" long aquarium came with 3 custom fit lids, left, right, and middle. The problem is, the lids they provided are made of plastic and they bow such that the middle is sagging low, and the corners are all raised up, some of them almost 1". They barely cover the area they are supposed to, and often fall into the water. One of the main functions of aquarium lids is to control evaporation but the lids they provided fail to do that. They are also not something one expects to see on a $10k+ aquarium. I called to discuss this problem but again, no answer, no callbacks. I did email and finally got a response from Dean, he said he would order some glass replacement lids. I waited 4 weeks and then followed up with Dean asking for a status on the lids, both by calls and emails. I called and emailed multiple times over a few weeks, now being totally ignored. It was made clear that he was no longer responding to me at all. I tried a different route; I called in to the Dallas office to their service/maintenance folks. I spoke with a nice lady that listened to my concern (only the lid situation) and said she will work with management to find a solution and promised that I would receive a call back by the end of the day from either her or management. Guess what happened, Nothing! No call, no email, nothing. I'd say it is now crystal clear that they have no intention of providing any form of customer service, I made a huge mistake choosing to work with the Fish Gallery and I recommend you avoid them.

I was looking to get a small aquarium and a beta fish. I been to at least 12 pets stores to find a beta fish that I would be really happy with. I looked at so many types half moon, black orchid, mustard, crown tail, double tail , veil tail, dumbo , and koi. So many options and so many colors. The 2nd time I was there I was talking to a young man he was very patient and informative. He showed me many options due to a back injury I needed help carrying the tank set up to my home. I planned on returning on Saturday to buy a tank, plants and gravel etc because I would have assistance that day. Through much searching I found a beautiful, peppy and responsive male beta. I purchased him that day along with food etc. I was going going to house him in a temporary home till Saturday. Unfortunately Friday night I had an incident with my fridge so I could not come back to purchase the set up. So now my betta is housed in a 1 gallon with a filter. I do plan on coming back later to purchase a 2 gallon or 2.5 gallon as I originally planned. I highly recommend this place they have a wide selection of plants, fish, plants and shrimp! Definitely will be returning!

I've always been fascinated with sea life and was surprised by how much I loved visiting The Fish Gallery for a kid's birthday party. The party room was a good size and there was a lobby area. You could feed the fish (koi) and an employee gives a mini lecture and let's the kids pet a snail. I liked the large tanks that had pretty fish and a turtle. The fishes were separated by how they aggressive they are just in case you want to purchase a pet fish. There's a cool photo opp area where you can crawl in and take pics outside the dome with fishes swimming around your head. Overall a very cool place to visit and purchase pet fish stuff.

It's definitely a huge store, but much homier than some of your traditional pet stores. I used to shop at Petsmart because they offered a coupon book of freebies when I first adopted my cat. I didn't even know places like Pet Supermarket existed! They are always running promotions on different items throughout the store and even sent some of the neighborhood customers $5 off coupons (no minimum purchase) to use for June through August. I popped in to buy my kitty some more food and saw that the usual brand I get was $3 off, so that combined with my $5 coupon was a great deal. I was scambling to tear off June's coupon, but the cashier chuckled and said I could keep it because they were meant to be reused. My cat has to eat the "fancy" stuff because she's allergic to basically everything, but they stock every single brand you could think of. And it's not just the expensive brands that have the deals. The last time I went, the Purina Tidy Cats litter was $1 off and offered a free bag of treats! My absolute favorite part about this store is that there are adoptable kittens that the employees encourage you to play with. You're welcome to pop open the latch and cuddle the kitties for as long as you'd like. They're from Houston Pets Alive, which is a no-kill shelter and adoption fees are only $50. The cats are positioned right next to the adoptable birds, rabbits, and hamsters, so there's plenty to keep them interested until you come visit!

Well, that was a GRAVE mistake and I see why they were so happy to get me in asap. First of all, the girl that answered the phone gave me some pricing "based on weight" which I totally understand. I then ask her about the discounts they showed online and she started stuttering as if she didn't really want to give it to me. Her response was "oh um yes, if you were a first time customer then i guess we would give you 10%". You knew I clearly was but moving along. I told them I wanted teddy bear cuts for my 2 mini poodles. She said they might have some matting charges and I said that's fine. I took them up there, the groomer barely examined them or talked to me before proceeding to take my dogs in the back to get started. 5 hours later, I pick them up and my dogs look NOTHING like what I asked for. I wanted to maintain length but they chopped off half on both of their bodies. I wanted a rounded teddy bear face and they SHAVED their faces. I have NEVER went to a groomer where they did something without calling me. If you're not able to do what I asked then I should have been at least notified by phone. NOT when I'm picking them up and the damage is done. On top of that, the ENTIRE cut on BOTH dogs were choppy! Not to mention they charged me $250 WITH the 10% discount. The girl also tried to charge me extra for trimming of the paws and ears. I asked isn't that included in the full groom? She said "oh yeah, let me take that off". THE WORST part?! I asked why the extra $80? She said it was because they had to detangle for an extra 15 minutes. Yes. 15 minutes. I will post the receipt. Lastly, for this price you would think that they would put a bandana or a bow on them. NOPE. They will never touch my dogs again. They do not care about the dogs and you can tell they are here just for the money. I'm sorry but I'm leaving my babies with you, I have to trust that you actually care. I will be posting pics of them AFTER a groom at Happy Snoutz on Sept 16, 2025 and also pictures from today. PLEASE do not waste your money or think because it's in River Oaks that they are quality.
