We enjoyed everyday and night all inclusive which was the best choice for our 5 day stay.

I want to start by saying that this was my second time staying at the property in 2022. We first stayed the first week of January 2022, and went back for my birthday the first week of April 2022. I had several issues on this recent visit. For starters the property showed signs of wear and tear and lack of proper maintenance. When we arrived we noticed broken tiles left on the walkway to the pool/beach, these tiles had broken off the wall and were just left there! Not aesthetically pleasing and no one seemed to care about anyone stepping on them especially with bare feet coming out the pool. When we arrived to our room and took some time to enjoy the balcony water was splashing down heavily from the floor above. When I called I was told it was probably someone's hot tub overflowing but nothing was done to accommodate us or help stop the water.l which was disappointing because we didn't want to be constantly splashed on while sitting out there. We also experienced a water leak in the hallway of our floor that spread from a puddle to a pond over the next few days. We also experienced fumes in the entire hallway that irritated my cousins asthma as the hotel maintenance had SPRAY PAINTED a door INSIDE the hallway area, spraying toxic fumes into the hallway with NO VENTILATION! Now that I have addressed the maintenance issues let's discuss the hotels apathetic attitude and lack of attentiveness and customer service. We stayed from a Monday evening to an Friday morning. The hotel was nowhere near capacity and the staff didn't even have very many people to serve or help, however they were slow, inattentive, and many times simply ignored us when we asked for help or service. I had to go get a manager just to get one of the beach guys to move an umbrella for us after asking him over 3 times. While on the beach no one acknowledged us for hours and never asked if we would like to order anything. The same slow service was given on the rooftop, where during a sales presentation for their VIP Club the waiter totally forgot my cousins order after bringing my food and then acted as if he never took her order and he couldn't remember her order but everyone else at the table could. When spending this type of money and staying at this level of hotel you expect to receive excellent service and not have to "work" for everything while on vacation! There was a grave difference in the service we received from our trip in January! My boyfriend was upset he even booked it again for my birthday and appalled by their lack of attentiveness. Nothing special was ever done in the room or at any of my meals I had at the hotel to acknowledge my birthday or show appreciation for my return visit! I've stayed at properties all over Mexico and that is something traditionally that has always been acknowledged! One of the days at the beach there were no more beds so we sat under a birds nest sofa and were quickly told to move because they costs extra, the same nest we used in January at no additional costs! And where did they expect us to sit with no beds/chairs available, in the sand?! Once again the hotel was barely full, they could have let us sit there and enjoy our beach day as hotel guests! The only time on this stay that I experienced quality service was from the spa! I wish I could remember the ladies name because she was the only one who gave excellent service and was truly caring about the guest experience. When I addressed certain issues with the front desk through out our stay they seemed indifferent and nonchalant they didn't seem to care if we were having a good time or not. Needless to say, we won't be returning! Nice hotel but nasty service!

I had an amazing experience at The Fives. The hotel is new and clean. The rooms are large a smartly decorated. The food is fresh and different from a lot of the cookie cutter hotels. The staff is friendly and engaging. Huge thanks to the folks that made my stay so memorable- David, Edgar, Maria (Who works in Ro Marley and gave me a great book recommendation), Christian, Jorge (Ask him to make you a 'Back to the Root'). See you soon. Gracias!

This was my first time in Mexico and the staff was fabulous! They made me feel welcome, were gracious and kind. I would recommend them for anyone that would like a fabulous time! Big shout out to Jose, Anna, Luis, Uriel, Aliandro, Roberto, Clarissa, Lundi and Lucila! Wonderful food and I had an absolute blast!

Here's the deal- Just rent a place in town or outside the hotel and you won't regret it. Puerto Moralos is safe and the locals are lovely. Many Canadians snow bird here so english is widely spoken if you are worried. The town is totally walkable and .9 mi from The Fives. Use reviews to find great tour providers at half the cost of the hotel (Claudia and Saul Castro of Puerto Moralos Tour Service (PMTS) are AMAZING) The Chedraui grocery has everything you might need at VERY REASONABLE prices... go for a walk, enjoy the town, bring a backpack and buy pastries, water, fruit and snacks there! BUY GROUND COFFEE HERE AND NAPKINS FOR COFFEE FILTERS IN THE ROOM- it works great!! Prices in general all over town are mostly American level ie not cheap but the Fives? What an outrageous nightmare all around . We stated 8 days and after traveling worldwide, esp throughout Asia, this was our first trip to Mexico. We are used to time share vibes and car sales type dickering yet this place was unbelievable and over the top. EVERYTHING MUST BE IN WRITING AND TRIPLE CHECK THE FINE PRINT. You can quote what the TravelZoo voucher or direct booking representative tells you (we had to do both) but it WONT BE HONORED. The "ambassador" runs to the back office behind 1-way mirrors and returns with the hard sell so sorry here's the deal schpiel. It's gross and I honestly haven't seen it that bad since buying a car in the 90's. It's encouraged by the ridiculous cash incentives they pay ambassadors to get you to give in and agree (don't agree to go on the 1hour tour.... Dont take the room upgrade.) They overbook and give your promised room away the first night then offer a "better" room which ends up being a pressure ploy to stay and pay more for it... unfortunately the units have consistency problems so it was not a hard decision to decline a room with no hot shower, black mold and AC that blows smelly condensation. Owners and prospective owners are given incentives as well so please don't trust those reviews on here. You will be charged a $100/night "service deposit" on top of the local taxes charged. They say they will credit you back what isnt used for food/drink room charges then of course find you owe more... save ALL receipts snd be prepared for dickering 45 min in order to check out. The South side Partial ocean views are still spectacular regardless of what other posts claim. Totally lovely place to sit with coffee or a cerveza and shaded until mid afternoon at which point the beach front is shaded by the building. Did you know local regulations prohibit buildings over 4 stories due to the porous limestone ? This hotel is 6 floors. Go figure how that happens... Aesthetically it's a gorgeous, totally unnecessary and out of place boutique jewel box in a clearly safe, laid back and lovely community. It -and it's guests- stand out -completely out of place- unless you venture out and get some real perspective. We saw reviews about seaweed....There is seaweed LIVING in the sea and it washes up. Guests of the 5's have complained so much they now pay a service to rake the sand clear morning noon and night... no one else in town bothers. If watching low wage workers covered head to toe to avoid sun burn swelter miserably sweeping the beach is your thing, then the fives is your place. Rohan Marley -Bob Marley's son- owns the restaurants and part of the hotel. I love reggae snd loved Bob as an 80's child, but 24/7 with no other option? Ya no. And the beach DJs blasting non stop ? Again. no... it's such a beautiful location without the non stop party. If you are into that great- just be aware that's what this place is all about. Back to the billing- we checked out and signed off on our bill and NOW 5 DAYS AFTER RETURNING WE ARE GETTING HARASSING EMAILS TRYING TO SQUEEZE ANOTHER $175 OUT OF US (THAT THEY "FORGOT" TO BILL US FOR?!) FOR "FOOD AND DRINK" ?? FFS. We ate out, went to the grocery store, and paid for room service up front after the first 24 hours. AND THEY EMAILED NO RECEIPTS FOR THESE SUPPOSED CHARGES!! I WASN'T ANGRY BEFORE BUT NOW I AM. We do not regret Puerto Moralos at all WE DO REGRET THE FIVES.

My husband and I visited ERC for his 30th birthday, and it exceeded all expectations. This was the most beautiful and relaxing place we have ever been. We got the swim up suite room, and loved it. The resort was so clean and well maintained, the rooms were wonderful, the food was the best we have ever had, the shows/activities at night were so fun, the drinks were delicious, the app was great at navigating the resort, and the pool is kept at the best temperature. The staff was truly the pinnacle of excellence. They made our experience so incredible and much better. Thank you so much Mario for making my husbands birthday so memorable. My only recommendations for guests, is that some of the restaurants have a dress code (my husband hates pants, so we had to buy him a pair at the gift shop), bring sunscreen/sunglasses/wide brim hat/after sun care, and if you get eaten to death my mosquitos bring bug spray. I've stayed in more luxurious places, including Danielles in Venice. I think I know the CDM secret. It was the lack of people that you see. Nothing and no-one annoyed me here. Even in luxurious places, there is likely someone who will be annoying, or rude or abrupt or loud, or arrogant or whatever. In fact, some of the "exclusive" places have some very arrogant and superior people, and that detracts from the experience. But I don't need to tell you how annoying people can be, do I? Not that people can't be very nice also, but the more people around, the more chance someone will detract from your experience. But when you don't even come across other people (except the ones you bring with), there's no-one to possibly bother you. You go to the beautiful pool, and there's no-one there. Not even anyone doing the "reserve our lounge chairs with towels at the crack of dawn game", when they don't use them till noon. None of that stupid stuff, and no screaming kids doing cannonballs in the pool (not that I don't like kids). The beautiful pool might as well be in your own back yard. You don't hear the adjacent room through the thick walls, and you don't even see other room balconies. The grounds are designed so every balcony is private. No-ones front door is next to yours, or even nearby. You look out over the grounds and virtually no-one is walking around. You go to the pier and it's empty of people. You go to the beach and no-one is there also. You pick your favorite lounge chair location and it's open just waiting for you. The staff here were all nice and subdued and not intrusive, but were friendly if you chatted a bit to them. When they bring your breakfast trays in the morning to your room, they place it in a hutch by the front door and you don't even see them! Look at the pictures I posted. The professional ones are from the CDM website and mine are the others. You'll notice there's no-one in the pictures. Other resorts have to rope off the area to get deserted pictures like those, and when you get there it is overrun by strangers. Not at CDM. When you think of that, you should try to stay here if you ever can, even for a few days. It's actually great value for the money. What an awesome experience. They do destination weddings here, and that probably feels like you rented the whole resort, cause I'm sure the other guests would stay out of your way. I can't think of another place like CDM.

If you're going to stay here, make sure you let them know when you're going to arrive as there doesn't seem to be a front desk. I called when we got there and we waited for about 10 minutes until Genevieve got there. Not a problem though because I do understand it's not really a traditional hotel. The grounds themselves are beautiful. There's lots of green space, and there's also a little pond with two turtles in it. Hopefully someone is feeding the turtles because when we were there we gave them like 2 whole avocados over the span of 3 or 4 days - them seemed famished. The pool is OUTSTANDING. It's not a traditional pool, there's not really much space to sunbathe, but it felt SO good after a long, hot day at the beach or walking around town. Plus it overlooks the ocean. Our favorite part of the place was the rooftop. Stunning views. Unfortunately the room we stayed in had window that overlooked a tree and a wall. There was a little window at the top of that wall, and no curtains on it, which made for a daily wake up time of whenever the sun came up. BUT, their neighbors started building a wall right outside that window. The stairs they were using to get to their roof were right outside that window, and any of the workers could've looked in our room, and directly down into the bathroom/toilet. I let management know and they came not more than two hours later to measure the window and make a mesh curtain for it. I was VERY pleased with how quickly they reacted to my email. It's unfortunate (and not Layla's fault) that there was a wall built, but I suppose that solved the sunrise wake up every morning. Other than that the room (selva) was nice. It had a little cooktop, sink, microwave, refrigerator, and coffee maker. The refrigerator froze almost everything we put in there, and we were unable to mess with the temperature. They had dish soap, hand soap, and I think body wash as well. Beach towels were provided though they're old and stained. The pillows were mish mash as were the pillow cases. I thought they had a restaurant and yoga classes and a salon, but everything was closed. Overall I'd recommend this place. It's a wonderfully affordable option and the entire staff is nice (I think we interacted with 5 of them; they'd come during the daytime). The views can't be beat, and the quietness of the location really amplified the charm that is Puerto Morelos!!!!

I'm really glad we did because the airport can feel overwhelming with so many taxi and shuttle options. When we arrived at the resort, we were greeted right away by the bellhop and a UVC team member, which was a great first impression. Since we got there early, our room wasn't ready yet, so we left our bags and changed into our swimsuits to enjoy the pool. It was nice being able to explore the property and relax while we waited. Once our room was ready, we got a call and headed back to the front desk to complete check in. Before long, we were on our way to the room with our luggage. We were really happy with the room itself and the location. After spending a few hours at the pool, I showered and took a much needed nap while my husband checked out the gym and walked around the resort. Once I woke up, I unpacked and got everything organized. I appreciated the amount of storage, especially in the bathroom since I had brought quite a few things. That first evening, we were both ready for dinner. Since it was Saturday, they had a seafood night by the pool along with a fire show. The food selection was just right for us, with paella and a few other seafood dishes, plus sides and salads. We grabbed a seat afterward and enjoyed watching the show. The overall atmosphere of the resort felt very tropical and relaxing. We loved seeing the wildlife, including iguanas and even a coati running around. There were also a few resident cats, and as a cat lover, I was so happy they were friendly enough to pet. I kept spotting them throughout our stay. We spent a lot of time at both the pool and the beach. We didn't go into the ocean because of the sargassum, but the beach itself was kept as clean as possible, and we still enjoyed walking along the shore. We frequented the Barracuda Bar and really liked Jose. He was friendly, energetic, and quickly learned our names and drink preferences. He even surprised me with a few drinks when I wasn't sure what to order. He stayed busy but handled everything so well, and I loved sitting on the bar swings and soaking in the atmosphere. While not all of the food stood out, there were definitely some highlights. The shrimp tacos at Seaside Grill were amazing. I'm not even sure what made them so good, but they were delicious. I also loved the pad thai at Himitsu. The noodles were perfectly cooked and the dish was full of flavor. I honestly would have ordered it again if we had more time. The desserts there were also incredible, especially the cloud cake and the matcha cake. Those ended up being some of my favorite treats of the whole trip. At El Patio, I tried a vegetarian taco that was the chef's special, and I'm so glad our server Eddie recommended it. Speaking of Eddie, he and Carlos really made a big impression on us. We saw them multiple times at different restaurants throughout our stay. Carlos was always welcoming and cheerful, and Eddie gave us some of the best service we experienced. On our final night at Bordeaux, they went above and beyond. Eddie had the chef create special dishes just for us, and they both came out to explain everything. As someone who loves food, that was such a memorable experience. They also surprised us with a plated dessert that said "have a nice trip," which was such a thoughtful touch. Of course, I had to take photos with them to remember it. Overall, we had a good trip and enjoyed our time at the resort. Since we used our UVC membership, our options were a bit limited, but this property worked out well. That said, I personally prefer adults only resorts, so I likely wouldn't return for that reason. I did appreciate that there was an adults only pool, though. We also had the opportunity to visit Dreams Mujeres for breakfast and a tour during our stay, which was a nice perk and something we really enjoyed.

We paid for premium platinum upgrade and was put in a moldy building next to an active construction site, they were actively building next to the premium beach upgrade area. The elevator smelled so badly of mold I took the stairs every day. Despite expressing my dissatisfaction every day the hotel REFUSED to refund any of the premium upgrade money ($700) . My travel agent is also FIRED for sending us here.
