Just tried this place today and the food that they have is really great quality. I've been meaning to actually try this place for quite some time since I go to the subway a lot right next to and I'm sure glad I did. I ended up getting the plate with half the angus and chicken with the brown rice. I prefer the chicken more to the angus but the angus was still pretty good. The prices for their items are also pretty reasonable for the quality of food that you're getting. Overall I would definitely end up going to this place again. Highly recommended! Whooo Hooo, I was wondering when and what was going to open in the place of the old pizza joint that was here before. We always look forward to something new in the neighborhood to try out. Myself and Nik had lunch, he had the 1/2 and 1/2 and I had the Angus Rib Platter. As far as the meat goes... Wow Yummy Yummy Wow ! I was just nibbling away on my rib bones, which I am sure left me looking like a hamster eating a cheetos cause I just couldnt get enough. Im not a fan of cold cabbage, so the salad was a waste for me, but the orange was awesome though!..lol Our drinks were only $1.00, but free if you ordered the chicken bowl. I wish their corporate office would allow the franchises to expand their menus just a little bit more. It would have been nice to have at least a couple of other selections to a salad choice. Been waiting for this place to open. This Flame Broiler is now open. I heard it open last Monday. They currently have a special where if you order one of their bowls, you get a free drink. I got a works bowl which is a bowl with half chicken and half angus beef with some vegetables. You can get the bowl with either brown or white rice. No extra charge for the brown rice. I like that the meats are already marinated, which was quite tasty. Green onions are optional. Vegetables were okay. Vegetables were some broccoli, carrots and steamed cabbage. I say the vegetables were mostly steamed cabbage. There is no teriyaki sauce added to the bowls, which is nice. If you want extra teriyaki sauce for the bowl, you can just add it yourself. Don't understand why listing shows as vegetarian, as all of the bowls have meat. There are no fish choices here. You will have to go to another restaurant down the street. Prices are very reasonable. Bowls were about $6 plus tax. The plates were about $8 with the tax. The plates come with a cabbage salad and orange slices. I'll just stick with the bowls. Will definitively be back again. This restaurant is open 7 days a week. Plenty of parking in the lot. read more

I've come here a couple times because it is close to my house and it's supposedly "healthy". That said, it's pretty pricey and the food is bland. So I have to pretty much douse it with sauce to get any flavor and I can't imagine that maintains its status as "healthy". I'll go here if I need to but I don't seek it out. read more

Before I forget, if you're clipping one of their coupons, make sure to read the microscopic print at the bottom; most likely, you coupon has expired; they won't honor it even if its passed just one day. I tried this place for the first time last night. I had the "Works" plate. Honestly, what a rip off. $7.70 for a little bit of rice, a bit of dry beef strips, dark meat chicken, a half of and orange that's been sitting some place getting dry and some cabbage. Nothing special. Nothing. One thing is for sure, I won't be eating this again at this location or any other. Just moved here and haven't had Flame Broiler in so long. Thought I'd drive out to Chatsworth and came to this location. I was very well greeted by the cashier guy who was super nice enough to accustom me with great and kind service. It's very rare when a cashier worker that gives a warm greeting and also walks over to deliver your food even though it isn't needed at all. My visit today was extremely disappointing. I LOVE Flame Broiler and it was my staple during college when Flame Broiler was just starting up. But today, not only was I charged more for preferring vegetables over rice, which nowhere on their menu indicate a surcharge, I only received half a bowl of food. I understand vegetables cost more than rice but if I have to pay more, then logic dictates that I would receive more food; and not only vegetables, I received less chicken as well. I will be posting a picture of my bowl which you can clearly see the bottom of the container simply by pushing a couple of cabbage leaves aside. I've always been a loyal customer but no longer. Location is real convenient for me and I'm happy that this Flame Broiler is close by. Food is good, healthy, and tastes good. There isn't a charge for veggies or brown rice on the bowls and they are giving a free drink with your order (I overheard for the rest of the month). I had the Works which is 1/2 chicken, 1/2 beef, with vegetables. Nice serving size, convenient location, no MSG. I see myself going back here plenty. read more

I love this place! It's kind of like Yoshinoya or Waba Grill, but it is my favorite in the area. First the meat. Delicious. The chicken is cooked just right and seasoned subtly but well. Really like that they have hot wings sauce as one of their options. The beef is super flavorful. Goes well with the standard dipping sauce. Second, the works is perfect for my picky son. The only vegetable he likes is broccoli. So we usually share the works. Last, they have coupons! My son and I share, get $1 off, and are both full at the end. Perfect for nights where mama is out! Inconsistent at best. The owner frequently doesn't buy enough white meat chicken. They were out of it early in the evening on five different visits over a two week period. If you're lucky enough to get a white meat chicken bowl, they cook it as long as the dark meat or longer so your chicken feels and tastes like a 'Goodyear Tire.' 99% of the time, they stuff their bowls to the top with rice, then they cover the entire top of the bowl with a thin layer of chicken (maybe 3-4 oz.). I always have to order a side of chicken. I've eaten here a few times but after the last 'Goodyear Tire' experience I'm throwing in the towel. People like consistency when it comes to healthy fast food. Nobody wants a surprise every time they order the same dish. I enjoyed only one out of seven or eight chicken bowls. If the workers smoke, that's their personal business, but it shouldn't be done in the restaurant. Have been going here frequently for the last 2+ years. I always get the special for a drink and bowl for $6.95 Chicken bowl with brown rice and onion on top. I love the way they cook their chicken. It's healthy but full of flavor. I prefer going here over a place like yoshinoya. Higher quality food, much healthier and not much more expensive. Small place in a good sized shopping center at Devonshire and mason. Our orders came within 5 minutes of ordering... Not too bad. We both had the "works" in s bowl. They also have plate items available at a slightly higher cost. The meat was a little dry, like it was cooked during their lunch rush hour and just reheated for our bowls. I used the regular sauce and not the hot sauce. It was a combination of teriyaki sauce and something else... Not too sweet and not too spicy, etc... Hard to describe. But you definitely have to put sauce on top unless you like your food bland. One worker and one other customer there... Not too busy for a Friday. I'll give it a three overall for taste and quality. Would I go back... Yes, but I'll try other places around my work first to see if I find a diamond in the rough. read more

Tasty and the meat is not oily, plus they have brown rice. Not cheap, but reasonable. Last time I saw they had avocado, don't know if it's a regular thing or not. Also you get your food pretty fast. No-frills to-go style or sit and eat, hot sauces and teriyaki dispensers, but meat doesn't need much unless you want it spicy. Beef, tofu, chicken w or w/o veggies, cabbage being the most flavorful, broccoli and carrots not so much. A healthy choice compared to Subway and Little Ceasars which are both next door. Sharkey's is at the other end of the shopping center; they're number one here, but FB is next, fast and good, although there is not much to it ingredients-wise, and zero to it ambience-wise, Recommended for quick to-go. read more

She tells the guy cooking in the back and he clearly does not want to honor it! He asks her 1st if I am a member and if I have a phone number registered and she asks me ..not like I couldnt hear him but I give it to her and she was like ok great and tells him I'm in the computer and the guy tells her I'm not registered at that location...sign says nothing about having to be a member or anything I was not only embarrassed but he made me feel like o was asking for something totally crazy. I have heard a lot of great things about this place so I stopped in for lunch and gave it a try. I placed my order and was charged the wrong price then what the menu showed hanging on the wall. I asked the lady who took my order why I was charged more. She looked at me like she didn't know what I was talking about and after a few seconds went and asked the manager or owner( not sure). She came back and her response was, "the prices went up." I tried to explain that the price should be honored that was advertised. She just said, I dont know and proceeded to take someone else's order. It was only a small amount but if everyone that is ordering is charged more then it will add up at the end of the day. I don't know if ownership changed but I have had the worst experience the last 2 trips here. The Hispanic woman with the pierced lip is horrible. First time she "helped" me I had to ask if she worked there because she was in the front watching TV. Then she was very unprofessional and ended up giving us the wrong order which I didn't discover til I got home. Second trip - she couldn't get the order right and was making excuses.
