If you want to dine in just note that the cooling inside the restaurant are just spinning fans so if it is a hot day, it can still feel pretty hot. The guy that serves us food is always happy to greet us with a smile. He prepares us with a delicious and authentic Filipino meal. A casual but very authentic Filipino fast food restaurant!!! The menu items are lined up in front of you in full display. They are always delicious, warm, and cooked thoroughly. I have been here many times and I always feel happy when I come here because of the sweetest owner and the food. This was my first time trying out this turo turo place, and I have to say, I was excited! I recently moved to Los Angeles from Bakersfield, but I'm originally from the Bay Area, so you can guess I've enjoyed my fair share of delicious Pinoy cuisine (and as a proud Pinoy, I'm always on the lookout for good food!). I want to share my experience based solely on the food and what I encountered, so I hope you find my review helpful, even if it gets a bit lengthy for just three comfort food dishes. First off, I was impressed by how clean and well-kept the restaurant was--definitely a plus! The staff member who served me was super friendly and polite, which always makes a dining experience feel special. Now, let's talk about the food. Since it was morning, I opted for three comforting "log" dishes: longsilog, bangsilog, and cornsilog. The common threads among these dishes are garlic (bawang), fried rice (sinangag), and a fried egg (itlog). However, I have to mention that the rice didn't have any garlic in it at all --not a hint of it! Just plain fried white rice, which left my wife and me a little disappointed. I'm hoping this was just an oversight and not a regular thing, especially since they marketed it as garlic rice! The fried egg was simple--a single sunny-side-up egg. The other turo turo establishments I visited usually give the egg a quick flip to make it a little over easy. Now, let's get to the main dishes. Starting with the fried Daeng bangus (milkfish marinated in vinegar, salt, and pepper), I have to say that it was delicious! The portion size was originally good, but they cut in half, lengthwise, before it was served. If you love your bangus crispy like I do, I recommend enjoying it right there at the restaurant instead of taking it home. Next up was the corned beef and potatoes. The taste was pretty solid--who doesn't love that comforting flavor? However, I'd suggest that the cook double-checks the doneness of the potatoes before serving. They had a bit more crunch than I would've liked. Growing up, my mom always said that potatoes should be really soft rather than crunchy, so I couldn't help but think of that while eating! Lastly, I saved the longsilog for last. The star of this dish is the longanisa, which is a sweet Filipino sausage that varies in flavor and spice depending on where you're from. Unfortunately, this time around, the longanisa didn't quite meet my expectations. It was as if the the sausages were boiled. And they were quite Pink! Sadly, their longanisa didn't seem to have that beloved fried look or taste I'm so familiar to eating. To make matters worse, it was served from the same tray as the tocino, which also didn't appear fried, just boiled and a bit too pink. My wife even had a little trouble serving it to her patient, as it was quite rubbery from overcooking. Overall, I hope my experience adds some insight for anyone considering this place. I came here around 4pm on a Wednesday and was looking for some down home comfort food. Walked in and they barely had anything left to choose from. I was hoping they had lechon kawali, but I was told that they don't make that. It's only if you ordered the big party trays is when they have it. So I just ordered the sinigang. It was mostly just broth left, so the cashier gave me a discount. The soup was pretty good, but I wished they had other items to choose from also. I ended up stopping by Cebuchon out in West Hills to get my lechon fix. I don't know if I would come back here only because they don't have what I like. I used to come to this place when it was Nanay Gloria. It was the fried chicken skin that made me kept going back. Today I went to see if they have chicken skin. Unfortunately they don't. My husband was in the mood for some Filipino food and I suggested this place thanks to Yelp! It's a turo-turo place, meaning point point. You basically point at what you want to eat because Lord knows Filipino food is just some type of meat and sauce. Sometimes I feel bad because I forget the name of what the dish is (and I'm Filipino) so I have to point at what I want. To make it seem like I'm still Filipino, I end up pointing with my lips too and saying some kind of word like "iyon", meaning "that one" as I point with my finger. Anyway, I heard that the sinigang ng baboy was delicious. So that's what I pointed to. Sinigang ng baboy is a pork soup with green beans and eggplants in this sour tamarind broth. I love the sourness of the broth. It was perfect for the cold, windy weather we were experiencing at the time. Put that soup over rice and it's the most comforting Filipino meal, in my opinion. My husband had the longanisa and tocino mix and fried bangus (aka fried milkfish and no, it's not pronounced bang-us, it's pronounced bhangoose). Those longanisas are worth the terrible longanisa burps you'll be having for at least 2 days! The guy behind the counter was really nice and pleasant. His Tita (aka Auntie) was also very nice. I would definitely come here again. Parking was ample. There were a lot of clean tables, the water was refreshing, they had lots of condiments, and TFC was on... can't beat that. read more

This turo-turo-style "filipino flavor" joint is REALLY great! Lasang Pinas offers a multitude of traditional Filipino options and some Americanized dishes as well. When I arrived, I was greeted by the kind gentleman behind the counter. He patiently waited as my girlfriend and I reviewed what each of the beautiful dishes were. When I asked him what was best, he offered me a couple samples. Ultimately, I purchased the caldareta (traditional w/ goat) and asado. I also got a half-portion of rice and half-portion of pancit. Additionally, I was offered broth to go along with my dish (at no additional charge), which is a super traditional thing in the Philippines. Each dish was delicious and I will 100% be returning to try other things. My only criticism/concern is/was that there was a lot of oil/grease in each dish's sauce/stew.
