Fusion Asian style cuisine that will satisfy your taste for rice, meat and vegetable dishes. Very good and friendly staff waits to take your order. The smell when walking in this store is glorious. The food appearance is also very pleasing to the senses. The flavor is good, but not the best. Needs more exotic spices and herbs to work for me. The dishes are a bit too simple. But, very good. I first tried the Teriyaki Chicken Bowl, though I'm not a huge fan of Teriyaki. I was just in the mood for it thanks to the glorious smells after walking in this location. Plain, white rice covered by flame broiled chunks of Teriyaki marinated chicken, with sliced carrots, broccoli, grilled cabbage and green onions. It comes with a side of extra Teriyaki sauce, if your heart and tastes so desire. The chicken had a great, flame broiled, medium Teriyaki flavor. Not dried out of chewy like other places in town. The carrots, broccoli and cabbage were not overcooked, but a bit undercooked for my preference, but were very good, also. Plain, perfectly steamed white rice lies underneath. It's hard to screw that up. Fresh green onions covers all, though I should have asked for extra. The taste of the bowl was very good, but could use more spice or herbs. It was a bit too singular for me. But, then I'm used to eating Nasi Goreng which has a lot of spices and herbs. I will ask what options are available to me the next time I come here. My dish was in serious need of spice, like Sambal Oelek or hot peppers of some kind along with other herbs and spices. Is this place a great place to eat? Oh, yes. Very much so. I used to be a regular at this Flame Broiler location, but they have changed workers and manager within the two years almost three years I have been visiting the location. I am a vegan and always get a plate tofu (well done) with white rice and veggies instead of fruit and salad. The pervious manager got me to try avocado with my plate and it was a really great choice. Now the cooks don't make me tofu well done, cabbage isn't cooked fully, is always unwelcoming and are basically like zombies running a store. We tried the Flame Broiler for the first time yesterday and it was very good, start to finish! The friendly staffer quickly prepared our order, rang us up, and had us on our way in a matter of minutes. Once at home, we were very pleased with the quality and quantity of our bowls. OK, Teriyaki Grills have been around for a while and I finally tried The Flam Broiler. First off the chicken was chopped up and seasoned, not just chicken with teriyaki sauce on it. The brown rice I ordered was very good, not dry and the chicken was perfect! The price compared to the competitors is better and the food was better. Another bonus was that the food came out super quick. I paid, went to the restroom to wash my hands and I was pleasantly greeted that my order was ready. Awesome Job! I'll be back :-) read more

We called to order was were to they aren't accepting phone orders at the moment so we asked what time they closed and we were told 9pm so we proceeded to go, once we got there it was about to be 8:00pm they ignored us for a good while and then we were told they were closed. I explained that I had called to make sure we this wouldn't happen. They reasoned and took our order which was very kind BUT we paid for 1 plate and 2 Regular sized bowls. First of all our whole order was wrong, and second of all we might have as well ordered mini bowls or be charged for minis for the amount we were givens AGAIN we appreciate that they took theirs time to help us after they were closed but also that's why we called ahead of time to make sure we wouldn't have problems. read more

I always have to write a review when the customer service at a chain restaurant is awesome. For the most part, you already know what the food is going to be like and what there is; it's the same everywhere else. But walking into this Flame Broiler, you're greeted with genuine, attentive, kind people. No BS here. I think that's what sets this Flame Broiler above everybody else. You can tell when someone hates their job; they show it in their face and the tone of their voice. Employees here are just here to get the job done and give a positive experience for their customers. OHMYGOODNESS!! So I've always liked flame broiler more than Waba grill because frankly, waba sucks (sorry, I just cant). But it has been a loooooong time since I've had FB...so yesterday I called in an order for dinner and Christina was AMAZING!! She was very patient and just all-around NICE...pleasantly nice... It's rare to find someone that works in customer service that is nice & helpful the way she is nice & helpful, especially in fast food... So i ordered the half & half with half veggies, half rice and she recommended that I get avocado which of course, I did because I put that shxt on everythingggg. But I didn't even KNOW that they had avocado (yea that's how long its been). I asked for the veggies to be well done because I don't like undercooked veggies (they call them blanched) and they were PERFECTLY done... You know how when you eat a meal it is just sooo good that you think you are tripping and you were just super hungry so it wasn't really as good as you thought it was? Well this was pretty damn close to that!! Only it WAS that good! :D Christina even explained the fivestars rewards points system, too bad it is only for this specific location... We ordered half and half bowls with zucchini and the dude cooking our food started using his bare hands to divide the zucchini up in the bowls. We addressed that we wanted fresh bowls with out his hands in our food. He pretty much ignored us and assured us that he was the cleanest person ever. I've been to many of the Flame Broilers in the San Gabriel Valley/Foothill region and this one for whatever reason has the BEST chicken. It's marinated well and not dry like some of the others. I understand they are doing their best during Covid. That being said, I absolutely expect that the person assembling the bowls be wearing gloves. He was not. And eCh bowl he filled, he held the bowl with his thumb on the inside of the bowl. Besides that, when you order a drink, the female employee that is usually the only one up front, who DOES wear gloves, however, she doesn't change them after answering the phone in them, taking payments, etc. and she grabs the empty cup and with her durtily gloved hand, grabs your lid and straw and sticks it in your cup. Not to be really really picky, but I consider both of those issues to be unacceptable during a freaking pandemic. read more

It's been a long time since I last ate at this location. I stopped by after a long day at work and ordered a mini beef bowl with veggies. I was tired and decided to dine in to enjoy my meal. All of a sudden I started to smell this really strong cleaning agent. I realized that one of the workers had started to mop while I was eating. I told him that the smell was really strong. All he said was sorry and continued. My stomach started to hurt and I didn't even finish my meal and I decided to leave. As a customer the crew needs to hold off the mopping of the floors until closing time. Have a little respect for your customers and be polite. I understand employees want to leave home but this stuff is really unprofessional. Who wants to smell all the fumes of cleaning agent when you are eating. Not sure if this was a manager but his initials were JP. Management needs to have guidelines for closing time. This was a bad experience never going back to this location. read more

Hands down I prefer this place better than waba grill. There menu is simple, there is no reason to be confused about it. The food is healthy and everything is gluten free. This location is clean and surprisingly it's cleaner than the one in Chino. read more

When it comes to food, I very rarely go to chain establishments (besides Taco Bell. And I don't even know why I like them sooo much, it's not even real Mexican food). But, Corporate, systematic, structural, formalization and machine are not words that come to mind when i think of great food. I'm more of a "down with the man" type when it comes to food. Went into flame broiler June 7 2018 around 6:00pm. Didn't get a chance to get his name but the black guy at the register was very professional and his customer service skills are excellent. He made me feel like I was welcome there. I live in riverside and I'll make the drive to upland just to get his customer service. Really friendly guy. Picture an old Band-Aid on the employees thumb that's been on for over a day and you noticed the sticky residue starting to turn black on his finger, now picture the employee using that same hand to hold each of your meal bowls and watching that black band-aid partially hook the inside of your bowl to hold it as he's filling it with rice and meat and veggies,,, how many times have you washed your hands and tried not to get the Band-Aid wet??? Not only was it just a black dirty Band-Aid in my bowl but you know dang well he didn't wash his hands properly and he was not wearing a glove. My favorite is the beef and veggie bowl with a little Teriyaki sauce drizzled over the top. The meat isn't very stringy or fatty like some places. Don't come SUPER hungry though, cuz the wait times always seem to be closer to 10 minutes than 5. This could be because I've only come during "dinner" hours, but I have come when there is nobody in front of me in line and when I'm fourth or fifth in line....the wait is always about the same. read more

It's not just the food I love that keeps me coming back to this convenient location. It's Christina. I thought it was her store because I always see her working. She treats the customers with such personal care and interest I assumed it was her restaurant. The store is kept very clean and stocked of all the sauces, forks, drink cups, etc. Honestly, some of the customer's attitudes she has to deal with would cause my feathers to ruffle, but Christina is courteous and respectful to customers and fellow employees. There is no portion control, plates and bowls vary in size depending on who's putting the meat in the plate. Want a chinese fast food style meal where the food is at your finger tips to point at?
