Absolutely terrible food. As what appears to be one of the only late night options, I'm sure they can get away with such bad quality. I ordered the chicken, bacon, and ranch: soggy breaded chicken with minimal bacon and it was soggy all around. Poor flavor as well, leaving me shocked that it was so bad. What was the ranch? Second item was the cheesecake with strawberries and chocolate filling: same outside dough and the inside was a melted cheap cream cheese frosting with too much chocolate and not enough strawberry (which were not fresh). It was a huge mess and the dough had the consistency of soggy cardboard. Third was the cheese bread: which was the best option. Hard to mess up, but very basic and didn't come with the advertised sauces. Overall the dough is, again, the texture of soggy tough cardboard that has no lift in it or flavor. I do not recommend, the food was absolutely horrid and left me regretting my decision. And as a visitor it was shockingly recommended to me on yelp, albeit very low on the short list for late night options. read more

I can't believe we have never been here. It's a great little spot for a calzone. We ordered online and our calzones were ready by the time we got here. We are headed to a movie at Mission Valley and stopped here for dinner first. The calzones were decent. Mine (spinach and cheese) could of used some black pepper but I was too lazy to get up and ask for some. The marinara sauce is good. Next time I will get an extra one. Hubby got the "Roni Zoni" which is basically a pepperoni pizza in a calzone. The crust is well baked and came out perfect. Our only complaint was .......NO BEER. I love this place lol simple as that. I am not the biggest fan of ricotta cheese but I love calzones. Because I don't like ricotta cheese I've leaned more towards Stromboli's but this is legit the best of both worlds. Being able to make any combination I want is something I love about this place but being able to get a calzone, holds strong enough that you can pick it up and dip in your sauce and eat like that, toppings of your choice, different sauces and then on top of it all you can get yours sprinkled with Parmesan cheese and Italian seasonings and have that baked all together ( hook it up). I have been here twice so far and it was almost a third but I don't want to eat my way out of loving this place. My next order I will try to make a breakfast dough, YES you can make a breakfast dough with eggs cheese bacon and things. This is a place who focused their traffic on folks who love to eat and I'm glad I found this place. This construction zone I got had mozz cheese, bacon, spinach, onions, tried the stinging honey garlic sauce which was really good I think I'll get that as a dipping sauce next time so I can control the wetness of my food since that costs more like a teriyaki sauce. Endless options and endless combinations at this place and my goal for every pizza spot that allows combinations is to always get a combination on the menu that they'll let me name. Three in the morning. You're craving some food and don't feel like driving anywhere or nuking anything in the microwave. Not many options available for delivery at that hour; but now there's a new one, at least if you live near the NC State Campus: D.P. Dough, a chain whose specialty is Calzones DP Dough has Calzones. Lots of them. All at one price, although for a bit more, if you can't find one with the right combination of fillings, you can add extra items for a bit more. There's even a larger size available, but again, the larger ones are all at one price, too. Each is served with a sauce for dunking. You can choose from a basic classic, veggie, chicken, beef, pork and then check the menu for various fillings included with the main choice. It's a good alternative to pizza or burgers but if you're getting takeout, call ahead since it takes about 10-15 minutes to prepare. I've been here twice, both times for lunch, and it really does help to call first if you're crunched for time. The Italian and the buffalo calzones are okay and very filling. You won't leave hungry. It's decent food, reasonably priced, and since the menu says they deliver until "at least" 3 a.m. you won't need to be hungry on the way back from your night of revelry. Came here really late one night with a bunch of friends. I didn't attend NC State so I had never heard of this place but apparently it's a staple for late night munchies. The prices were fair, considering how large these things are. I ordered the one with pepperoni and cheese, pretty basic. It came out super hot and was very filling. Is it gourmet food? No, hardly. But it definitely satisfies a craving. I shared this with my husband and we still couldn't finish the one between the two of us, so we had leftovers as well, if it gives you a better idea how large these are. Saturday night It was late and I was hungry. I was staying at spring hill suites in Cary. I ordered a calzone from DP Dough. I waited in the hotel lobby for over an hour for my food to arrive. The delivery driver never came. I contacted the company for a refund and Matthew Eastman the owner replied with a completely false statement about how the delivery driver showed up and gave it to hotel staff. This reply is wrong on so many levels. First and foremost the delivery driver never came. Secondly the delivery driver never called me. Third the Hotel staff at spring hill doesn't accept food for guests. Even if the driver came the onus is 100% on the Delivery Driver to make sure the food gets in the customers hands. This clown of an owner Matthew Eastman replies with the most outrageously irresponsible and unprofessional message stating "if you want your food he's your man" referring to the front desk employee. What a Clown ! Deflecting ownership on to the hotel who doesn't even deliver food. Last I checked I gave DP Dough my money to bring me the food not Marriot Hotels. Get your shit together Matt. Matthew Eastman doesn't have a shred of Ownership, Responsibility, Accountability, or Integrity. This is a child. Looking through some of the negative reviews, I have never encountered any of the same negative experiences. I have gotten the 2 for $10 on Tuesday multiple times, (how could you not? It's a steal!) and I've always been pleased. 2 calzones for $10 usually turns into 2 calzones for $14 once the delivery charge and tip is factored in. This is still a really good deal as the calzones are freaking delicious and there is nothing better late night as D.P. Dough is open until around 3 am. So greasy, but so satisfying. Their buffalo chicken is my go to as their is actual blue cheese sauce inside the calzone. It's great. I definitely wanna try the apple pie one some time, it sounds great. Definitely recommend this. DP Dough is a calzone restaurant in the Mission Valley shopping center right near NC State. They cater to the college crowd with yummy affordable food that offers delivery until 4AM. I am a HUGE fan of this restaurant it its 59+ options. Anytime I have a movie to watch at Mission Valley, I go to DP Dough for dinner. I was there last night and ran into other friends who were also enjoying a calzone before our movie. My preferred Calzone is the Passing Zone which includes Chicken, Bacon, Tomato, Mozzarella and ranch dressing. It is a unique combination, but I LOVE it! I actually get 2 meals out of 1 order, so I am about to eat the other half of my calzone for lunch. Each calzone comes with a side of sauce. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. DP Dough is a really great delivery option that is a bit different than most. It is a chain that you will find in big college towns, I believe. They are all calzones basically and will deliver late late night (like 3, 4 am late night)! They have probably hundreds of styles of calzones. My two favorite are the buffalo chicken calzone and the chicken cordon bleu calzone with ranch substituted for marinara. I really enjoy the food even if it is not late night. The one knock I have on them is delivery can take a while. Usually 45 mins to an hour at least, even at lunch time and weird hours of the day. I am happy that they have a wider delivery area than most places though. I was worried that when I moved downtown, I would be out of range of some of my favorite delivery joints. Weird tip.. This location sells Ben & Jerrys ice cream also so if you want ice cream delivered to you, you can do that. read more

This place is a great go-to for a filling meal under $10. All the calzones are delicious and they let you add whatever you want to personalize it (small fee but worth it). Comes with marinara sauce and the delivery is quick (they'll tell you 30-40 mins but it's almost always under 30 for us).
