This place is larger than I expected inside with a main eating area, a back eating area with 2 tables & some counter seating looking into the kitchen. I really wanted to love my food but it was just ok. The service was good. Food came out fast. The plates were warm to the touch as though they had been warmed up however, the food cooled off very quickly. I know breakfast food doesn't really hold heat but I don't typically notice. Unfortunately, shortly, midway during eating, my food was noticeably cooled off. Chicken sausage is highly seasoned with sage & salt. It has good flavor but was just a little chewier (tougher) than I prefer. Scrambled Eggs came cooked hard. Grits were creamy. Seasoned, with cheese. French toast is thick bread & the inside was very fluffy/soggy. Not sure if it was undercooked or intentionally cooked to be soft inside, reminded me of a soufflé. The pancakes were a little gummy to me. I'd give them another try but I'm not in a hurry.

We decided to split the piedmont omelette and a waffle as we couldn't choose between savory or sweet. Portion size was big enough to split and still be full. Our server Joshua was knowledgeable about the menu and helped us make great selections. We even got the chicken and cheese biscuit + an extra biscuit to-go which made for a good breakfast the next morning. Will definitely be back.

I wouldn't recommend this location in Richmond, The food was just subpar to me I ordered steak and eggs with a side of grits. The cheese on my eggs was horrible and the potatoes tasted old and not hot at all. The steak was flavorful and that's the only thing I enjoyed. My grits were too creamy to the point it didn't even taste like grits. It took a while for someone to come from the back to seat us that right there should have told me that the food might not be good. They only had one couple in there and the waitress sat in the back. I won't return and I wouldn't recommend this location.

Ambiance is cool with plenty of parking spaces. Friendly servers. Food was just meh to me. Bistro Chicken Benedict was too salty. Thinly sliced chicken was just too salty. Too much sodium for my liking. I heard another table complaining about how salty her breakfast plate was also. On the bright side, their Benedict pouched egg was cooked perfectly and the hollandaise sauce on top. Creamy grits is not my cup of tea but if you enjoy creamy grits, you may like it. It's one of those if you like it or don't like it, kind of food. I didn't hold it against them since I generally don't like it - the texture is like eating baby food. Stuffed strawberry French toast was originally the best I had here. However, I tasted it burnt and don't realized it till I finished the first portion. Overall good, I would recommend but check your French toast on both sides first. Sausage patties were meh. Just tasted like frozen patties. Nothing special. Overall, it's an okay breakfast restaurant.

Well flavored, well prepared and WOW! Service was great, we loved the food and enjoyed our experience. Do not sleep on this place.

This place is a nice casual and colorful breakfast cafe. Went for a late weekday brunch and had some wonderful cinnamon roll pancakes that were large and filling. It wasn't busy at the time we went so service was pretty quick. May come back again to try something else on their menu.

My friend and I came here for brunch for the first time. The staff is really friendly. The tables were a little wobbly, but I really like how they looked. They give a picnic feel. The food was quite dense, so it really filled us up . The Applebutter was really good, so make sure you get that to try it.. food is as good as it looks. The chicken was very crispy and the poached eggs were perfect. The biscuit was a bit dense as well. It wasn't very fluffy, but that's OK with me. This place is good if you want to do like a comfort breakfast southern meal. Parking is free and out front .

I decided to try this cafe for brunch the other day and I have mixed reviews. The menu is not too small or too big, so I really liked that simplicity. We ordered biscuits and gravy, avocado toast and a biscuit egg sandwich. The bacon was great, the. Potatoes were good, and the eggs were very fresh. As for the biscuits, they were not fully cooked and were very gummy. I'm not saying the taste was bad but I would of liked for them to be done and cooked a little longer. The avocado toast was okay but didn't taste super fresh. The toast itself was a little burnt. It just didn't taste as fresh as it should have. The service was very good. We ate in the bar area and our waiter was very friendly and provided great service. I just wish the food was a little fresher for the price we paid. When you are a restaurant who builds everything the biscuit, the. Biscuits should be cooked fully and other items should taste a little fresher. I don't know if I would run to try this again. I feel like there are other places with better food at the same prices. I might try to one more time but not right away.

Veggie scramble w side of chicken sausage

Average food and service. Ambiance is really cozy and homely however and we were seated quickly despite a busy Sunday brunch service. Our waitress was nice but forgetful, she basically forgot to place half our entree orders in to the kitchen so we had a long wait. This was discovered after she surprisingly brought us the check while the kids were eating. She was very apologetic but no restitution was made. The manager came by while we were waiting for our food about 45 min after we had placed our order initially. When he inquired on whether everything was ok and we told him we were still waiting on our food he said "oh ok" and quickly left the table. No apology, offer to check on it or anything. So what was the point of asking? The food itself was fine, not spectacular. I liked the biscuit the best. Fluffy and soft. Pancakes and waffles were good. Pancake is thin w crispy edges which is how I like them. My veggie scramble was a little bland/under seasoned. The fried green tomatoes are not great so would skip these for sure. Kind of disappointed over all.Not sure we'll be back.

I brought my friend to Messina Hof Harvest Green Winery & Kitchen to celebrate his 34th birthday…read more He asked me to create a wine tasting event for him. I quickly searched on Google and found several options. Messina Hof grabbed my attention. First, it's out in the country, not in the busy Houston region. Second, it has food to pair with wine. Third, I love driving to Richmond Texas. I thought this city has a lot of charms. So, I made a reservation online. While that was not a requirement, but I would like to be reminded. We arrived at the restaurant late because I under estimated the traffic from Southwest Houston. My reservation was moved with my request, nice. The parking lot is huge and wheelchair accessible spots are on both sides of the entrance. We were one of 2 parties at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. The wait staff was very cordial. She introduced us the wine tasting menu: White Wine, Red Wine, Mixed Wines, Premium, Library and Sweet Wines. My friend likes to try their sweet collection, $28. I don't drink. So, I just looked at him enjoying the wines. It started with something weak to something strong like a Port and ended with something delicious that he really liked. Each pour is 3 oz, except 1 oz of port due to high alcohol content. We bought a bottle of Orange Muscat Mistella, $25. I don't think we can find this elsewhere for this price. For people like me who don't drink, I asked for a glass of sparkling red grape juice. We also paired our drinks with a wood-fired pizza and I ordered a Burrata Salad. They are quite delightful. I was surprised as the wines are travelled from Bryan/College Station and Fredericksburg of Texas. Umm... So, this huge facility doesn't produce wines. Although, there is a grapevines out on the front. As we've been told that those grape trees will produce grapes next year. The only winery tour is at those 2 locations. There is nothing to see here. Hehe. We swore to come back with friends and family again.

I'll start by saying that the food is mid. Some items are better than others. Starters: Mama Rosa meatballs - 7/10 - flavorful and rich Spinach dip - 5/10 - just okay Baked goat cheese - 5/10 - okay Fritto Misto - 7/10 - tasty They recently changed their menu and took away the lunch menu, which I actually enjoyed. Mains: Roasted Chicken Gnocchi- 7/10 - this was my go-to entree, but the last 2 times it has not been good. The last time I went the chicken was shredded and tasted off. Chicken Parmesan - 6/10 - just okay, pretty bland Spinach Bacon Alfredo - 7/10 - again, not bad and not great Pizza - I hate to say this, but they have some of the worst pizza. We have tried the pepperoni, the Douglas, the fig and pig, and they were all bad. Reminds me of school cafeteria pizza. Overall, this place could really be a hit, but the food is just mid and it seems to be getting worse every time I go. Service is the same, sometimes terrible and our waiter is nowhere to be found, and sometimes good. I do enjoy their wine. Their Sparkling Almond is amazing! They have some other great wines too. All of their Premium Dry Reds are great! and I also love their semi-sweets. So maybe just go for their wines and skip the food.

After parking and going inside. I didn't have my cup to get a drink yet so I was waiting at the front just... kind of watching the staff. I think two of the three, including the one who was at the window and took my order, must of been on break because they literally did not do much but stare back at me and the food/drink they were eating/drinking. The manger was running back and forth. After he gave me my bag, it was just the biscuit sandwich. So I asked "where was the side? " . He passed me the side, then I asked" where do I get a cup for drinks?" The manager didn't realize I never had the cup because he thought the staff member at the window gave me my cup. In the bag, there was no napkin or spoon for the side. Or maybe I just didn't see them next to the soda machine because I was getting annoyed at this point and just wanted to leave. As for the food, barely any icing. The chicken was mid. The meat has a reddish tint to it like it's supposed to be a spicy chicken ? It was confusing to look at. The biscuit was slightly sweet and crusty along the edges (the best part of this whole thing). Mac and cheese was mid. The whole combo was overall mid. Admittedly, tables and chairs are clean. Lots of space. They have an outdoor area too. They have a small window in the kitchen area where you can watch them make the dough. Free parking out front. I would take out the ai in the drive through. I did not like it at all. If I have to wait for a bit, it would be good if they have a spot I can go to while they take care of the customers behind me and I'm not holding up the line for 5 minutes.
