Excellent coffee, that being said running out of dishes seems ridiculous. The muffins were inedible. We asked for them heated and they heated them and left them on the counter never calling our name. We sat right across from the pickup counter so we would have heard. By the time we got the muffins they were cold and hard. We couldn't get either muffin out of the parchment paper that they sat in. The cinnamon one was overly sweet, with a half inch ribbon of slimy cinnamon in the middle, and about an inch of sugar on top. The blueberry muffin was overly sweet as well with way too much sugar on top. It was busy to be fair, but staff was not very friendly. I would've taken the muffins back, but there were too many people. I feel like the staff was busy enough and probably didn't want to even deal with it. all in all I would definitely go for to go coffee, but I wouldn't stay for my coffee if they don't even have enough dishes to put the coffee in a mug. read more

I was disappointed to find, on my most recent visit, that they no longer work with their former donut partner - which was actually the reason I kept going back! I'll have to try and remember where those donuts came from, and try them. But that's okay because whoever's baking these cookies knows what they're doing. Oh my goodness they were like shortbread with some kind of salt on an amazing chocolate chip cookie the size of the house. Not *a* house. But *the* house. Definitely worth $3. And the kid is super friendly. And if there ever was a 5-star cookie and a 5-star coffee shop that knows how to pick its desserts-for-sale, it's this one. This place has GREAT coffee! Their cold brew and the way they make cold foam is the best in the area!! I'm so happy they opened a downtown location too. My only critique is that it does a lot... alcohol, craft cocktails, food, and coffee flights- the wait is long and there is only one register open. I think the system needs some working. But it IS worth the wait and it remains my favorite coffee place in the Toledo area! read more

I am addicted to their bakery items (Oatmeal (Ohm) cream pie/cookie & cinnamon rolls especially). Pop tarts are great too. I trend towards an iced latte which is consistent. I know they make some of their own flavored simple syrups but it isn't always easy to identify the ones they make. This is a coffee shop with a bar & Levis Commons has a DORA so that is an option too. There are a few breakfast sandwiches that hit the spot. They have outgrown their space and am looking forward to the future expansion next door. read more

Amazing coffee!! The flavors are delicious and I loved the Samoan coffee (based on the Girl Scout cookie). The key lime pie martini tasted exactly like key lime pie and was great! We were visiting the area and looking for a dog-friendly place where we could grab breakfast before getting on the road. The Flying Joe did not disappoint! They have a patio space off of the front and back of the restaurant so there is ample (and shady) outdoor seating. Our drinks were fantastic but it was the Fabulous Mrs. Maple toast (gluten free) that really stole the show... and the epic pup cup the barista whipped up for us completely unprompted. Such a cute coffeeshop! I had been here before many years ago when I went to school at BG but decided to stop back in since I was in town. When I arrived around noon, it was the perfect atmosphere for studying. I decided on drip coffee, which was excellent, and hung out for an hour. The entire time I was there, the staff treated every customer with kindness! It was wonderful! They have many offerings ranging from breakfast sandwiches to baked goods and also seasonal drinks! This place is fantastic! They have a cute, clean, relaxing atmosphere. There are bar height counters, a couch and tables as well as outside seating. At first it doesn't look like there is much parking but there is plenty of parking in the back and a back entrance. The people are so nice and are very knowledgeable about their products. The coffee is delicious and probably one of the best that I've had! I got the frozen white mocha latte and it was heavenly. It was so creamy and delicious. Every sip was as delicious as the next. When you go to other coffee shops and get a frozen drink most of the flavor gets sucked out by the time you're halfway done. Not at the flying joe! I highly recommend the flying joe! read more

This is by far one of my favorite coffee places in Toledo. The coffee was strong enough and had such a nice flavor. I wish the cup size was a little bigger. I give the Flying Joe 4 out of 5 stars. Let me explain why: First off, great coffee and atmosphere inside the building. I have been here at least 5 or 6 times now and have had a variety of drinks. My most favorite is the flying joe mocha as shown in my picture. It's amazing! Only downside is the frozen version is $6.00. Pretty pricey but it's worth it. Their iced vanilla lattes are pretty solid too and more affordable. The service is usually pretty good except for the first experience I had there when the clerk didn't recommend me anything to drink or even talk to us rather when we told her we have never been there before. Every one else since however has been super nice and helpful. Another nice touch is that they sell beer in their fridge. That's a nice added bonus. Overall, The Flying Joe is an atmospheric coffee joint. I only wish it was closer to us! read more
