WORST SERVICE EVER!!!! To begin my horrible service experience let's start with the fact that when I made my initial appointment I had to wait over 2 weeks just to get my car looked at. I brought my 2014 mustang gt with 10k miles (still under warranty) to Ford Store San Leandro service because the car was making popping/clunky noises from the transmission and a loud whining from the rear axle. Also the sync system kept freezing. After having the car for almost 2 weeks I finally got an update on my car. They tell me the loud clunking/popping/rattling from the transmission is "completely normal" and there's nothing they can do about it. However the rear axle whine was something they could fix with an axle rebuild. So about a week later I   get my car back. When I went to pick up the car they told me that on the test drive they noticed a slight vibration but it was because my rear tires were out of balance. (Which is weird because the car was smooth as glass when I dropped it off). As I drove away and got on the freeway I noticed a horrible vibration starting at about 30mph that shock the whole car. So I did about 35-40mph as cars flew around me until I could get off the freeway and drove straight to America's Tire which was closed by the time I got there. The next day I took the day off work to go get the tires put on my car. They replaced the back tires and balanced all four. THE VIBRATION WAS STILL THERE!!! I immediately brought the car back to the Ford Store for them to fix it. A few days later I finally get an update. They said the center bearing on the drive shaft was bad, and since the back tires had been worn down with less than 15k miles it showed clear signs of abuse (even though the car has soft Pirelli p-zeros and a tight limited slip rear end that eats up tires and I've never raced or abused it) and that they shouldn't /didn't have to cover it under warranty, but they were going to do my a "huge favor" and cover it this time. So nearly a month after I first dropped off the car I finally get it back and it's driveable. However THE VIBRATION IS STILL THERE only now you don't feel it till 70 or 80. (yet the car was free of any vibration when I first brought it there) The rear axle whine is ALSO STILL THERE just not as loud. Plus the transmission noises are louder than theyve ever been. (Which was the main reason I brought it in in the first place). They did however fix the sync issue which was a simple update. PLUS! I now have a substantial scratch on my driver door that was not there before this whole experience!! To say my service experience is unexceptable is a huge understatement! Before this i was planning on buying a new Ford truck when I pay off the mustang. But now I will NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER FORD PRODUCT AGAIN!!!! I was planning on driving the car to Las Vegas in a few weeks, now i have to figure out if I'm going to trade the car in for something of higher quality to avoid these issues or fix the car myself so i can know it was done right! So I got those coupons in the mail for a discount on some services that I thought would be relatively simple for a dealership (I never take my car to a dealership too costly and I work in the auto industry). I took my expedition in for a routine wheel alignment and to have the spare utilized and one fron tire taken off as it was BAD. the service person advised me that he couldn't put the spare on because the other front tire was bad as well and he couldn't accept the liabiliity of something happening to the other tire....HUH!? So you wouldn't reduce my chances of a blow out by putting on the spare?? Then I'd @ least have one tire that was in need of changing.....ok so I said fine just leave the car alone. When I went to go pick it up on a Saturday morning......they couldn't find it!!! It took them 45 minutes to locate my vehicle!! When they did bring it out I got into it and started it up it wouldn't turn over.....NO GAS!! Funny I don't recall bringing it in on completely empty....hmmm so I walked across the street to a gas station and brought back some gas and left.......BELIEVE ME WHEN I TELL YOU THIS NEVER EVER AGAIN WILL I BE BACK OR RECOMMEND THIS DEALERSHIP TO ANYONE!!! I left gased up and took my business to Mission Tires in Hayward was in and out in less than an hour bought 2 tires and a wheel alignment!! They even dropped the spare and informed me that it was a 255 and allmy other tires were 265 so it would work for a spare but not for everyday! MAN IS THIS WHAT SERVICE LOOKS LIKE?!! read more

I am ready to contact the City and County Attorneys offices to file fraud charges against this company. I bought a certified used car from them three months ago and initially had several problems with missing equipment that the salesman failed to even try to remedy. Then the 'Internet Sales Manager' got involved and provided a charging cord, floor mats and rear cargo cover. These were all supposed to be included with the sale but weren't. Then I found out that there are THREE different types of tires on the car (in violation of Ford Certified rules) and that a broken trim piece was glued back together instead of being replaced- among other problems. I have spoken with the Service Manager twice and he promised me that the GM would contact me. Nothing. Called and left messages for the internet sales manager. Nothing. Sent the dealership an email from their 'contact us' page. Nothing. Next is Ford Customer Assistance and then I'll probably have to sue them to get any results. I had the WORST experience at this location. I recommend people to take their vehicle to another Dealership. The Service rep, Billy Severs, is extremely rude... My car was serviced for a Sunroof repair which is currently covered through extended warranty. I was later informed by BS that my warranty did not cover a part and that I had to pay an additional $300 and that my car would not be ready to the following week. When I asked him for the specific name of the car part, he responded rude/with an attitude and didn't give me the information. I later contacted my insurance company to figure out why the "part" was not covered and they informed that they did not deny any parts or labor. I tried to contact BS to get more information about the part and of course no response or returned call. Another thing I found alarming, I contacted the insurance company regarding a rental and found out the BS had requested a 7 day rental approval which he (BS) failed to disclose when he contacted me about the additional amount and car not being ready until the following week. I smell shady... I didn't cause a ruckus because my vehicle was in their possession. I'm now reviewing my receipt and I see a ton of "MISC" charges and an additional $30 car rental charge!! Will not give us a loaner as the car is the only commute to work and it took them more than a month to fix the car and every time I pick the car the issue is still there! The car is still under warranty and I bet that is the reason they don't want to fix it since they need to pay for all the labor and parts. I recently leased a new mustang from this dealership. I was getting D plan pricing and even though they weren't making money on the sale they went out if their way to accommodate me. Both the finance manager Ron, and the salesman Steve Wu, were very helpful. Steve was patient and accommodating in showing me multiple cars and allowing me to test drive them. Yah that's his job but I know it can be frustrating as a sales person when you're spending time with a customer and you're making zero commission on the deal. I had some credit issues due to a situation with an x and identify theft. Ron went above and beyond to help me find a way to get the lease done. I had been stressing out about getting a new vehicle with my credit situation. I can't say enough good things about my customer service experience with this location. It was a drive to get there from Sacramento but definitely worth my time. If you're looking to buy or lease a ford vehicle I would recommend setting up and appointment with Steve. read more

I can not stand the service you get at the San Leandro Ford store. They are literally the worst. I rather take my car anywhere else besides here. Not only did I have to go back two times because of a recall but I almost get brushed off by the service department every time I go in there because I am a woman and can't possibly know anything about cars. Let's start with the recall. The first time I went alone and was told there were no rentals available and that it had to be a Ford vehicle I rented and that I couldn't have the rental for more than a day. All of which was a lie told to me by Joe. I took it back a second time and this time because my husband was with me they were very friendly talking about let me get you a rental and all this other stuff. The most recent today was that I have an extended warranty with CarMax where I bought my car (which they are amazing) but unfortunately the problem in my car can only be fixed by Ford (oh great). I took the paperwork to Ford in Fremont and as much as they wanted to help me they were tied up with appointments and couldn't take me for 3 weeks. I have an engine problem and have a 4 year old child who rides in my vehicle. My car will randomly stall in the middle of the street while driving and San Leandro Ford brushed me off yet again today and told me to just make an appointment without even looking at my paperwork which clearly explains the problem. They also then tried to tell me that without the engine light on they can't help me at. It's not my fault that the engine light goes on and off. That's exactly what is wrong with my car. The wiring through the engine causes the car to idle rough, not want to start, stall etc. but the service tech refused to even look at my paperwork. If I didn't have to ever deal with this store again it would make my day. I will never buy a Ford again and after I sell my car will never take it or recommend this Ford store to anyone. Stay far away. They also never answer their phones or emails. Just the icing on the cake. read more

Called earlier this morning when they opened to make an appointment and the woman told me they were booked on appointments but to just drive over and they don't turn away walk-ins. She said be prepared to leave the car for 2-3hrs. I took her advice and walked in. A guy tells me I have to leave my car and I said "cool, how long?" He said I could pick it up tomorrow. Wow. Lies. Going back to Serramonte where I bought my truck a year ago because San Leandro ford sucked at sales and lost mine. Came in to test drive a car, but after small talk with the sales rep, and expressing that I was not in the market to make a purchase decision the same day, I was denied an ability to even test drive a car. The sales rep claimed he had another customer that came up (even after he greeted me as his sales rep when I pulled into the lot). He suggested I come back another time. He didn't even hand me off to another rep for a test drive. Sadly, I had already test drove other cars from Honda and Toyota and was treated very differently, even though those dealers knew upfront that I had no intention to purchase a vehicle the same day. Fortunately for them, this experience has helped me rule out Ford vehicles as a possibility for my next purchase. I assume if Ford let's their dealers behave in such a way, then their cars can't be any better. Best of luck in regaining market share. read more

This service department really disappointed me. I have been a ford owner for 15 years, my parents always owned fords, my grandpa worked at ford for 30 years and my brother is a licensed ford tech. Its safe to say we are huge fans of ford. I have always have extremely pleasant experiences at any dealership, with exception to this one. My oil was changed first and then they never called to let us know it was ready so we went back later in the day hoping it was ready, because if you call forget about it. They dont call back or at lunch or on break or with a customer. Then we had to leave my car for over a week just for a leak since they do not have enough techs to fix the leak. They told my husband they would call to fill us in on progress. Never got a call. I called 3 times however and got the runaround. Finally when I asked for a supervisor the service guy called and left a message. He said they would finish the car that day after hours and it would be ready for pickup in the morning. My husband delays his day and drives all the way there and they said they are still working on it. They never called to say it would be longer. It has been a huge inconvenience and while the people have been nice enough, nice doesnt get the job done and does not mean actual proficiency in service. Hopefully other people have a better experience. I will be looking somewhere else for further service and when I go to buy a new ford truck it will not be here. read more

If you purchase a vehicle at this dealership, you should hope that nothing ever goes wrong with your car. Seriously, if I could give 0 cars I would. We purchased a brand new Ford CMAX here a couple of months ago. Already the car has been subject to two recalls, and our lift gate stopped operating properly. As of this review, The Ford Store has had my car 5 days, and keeps lying to me about the status of the repair and the parts that they need to complete it. They don't call you back when they say they will, instead you have to repeatedly call to get (untruthful) updates. If they had told me 5 days ago that my car wasn't going to be ready because they were waiting on parts, I would have picked my car back up and brought it back when the part came in. Instead, they've been playing a game where they tell me the car will be ready, only to tell me at the end of the day that it's not ready because they don't have the part but it will be ready in the morning. Except in the morning, you find out that the car actually won't be ready, because they are still waiting on a part. Seriously, this is the worst experience ever, and I should have just bought another Honda. read more

I just purchased a 2014 Ford Fiesta ST, arguably one of the best cars of the year, from this location. I originally began the process by using a new car brokerage site (to remain unnamed) and got a great online price. I work nearby so I went in to check out the car. The internet sales manager Danny Gol is easily the least pushy guy to talk pricing with. He obviously understands what it takes to make a sale and keep his customers happy. I special ordered a vehicle after he gave me an outstanding price that was very transparent. No hidden fees, no back and forth. The car took 3 months to arrive because it is a special order on a car that is unique and internationally built. I knew this ahead of time so was no surprise. However, regular updates from Danny including the VIN number, window sticker, and delivery updates helped ease the wait. When it did arrive he handed me the keys and let me take a leisurely final test drive at my own pace. No pressure, just me and the car. He got me maximum incentives without being asked about them and them with a honest handshake sent me on to the finance manager Tom O'dea. I know that this part of the process is known for a lot of things including hard sells on maintenance packages, etc. Tom obviously was not that stereotypical finance guy. He mentioned the packages, made a few suggestions, and listened if I said "not interested." I felt good about the choices I made without feeling ripped off. Everything was very transparent. The fees were obvious and mandatory. No "EDM" or extra dealer markup snuck in there. Just plain and simple math. He answered all questions without hesitation. I have purchased and leased other new cars but never felt so confident that the salesman Danny Gol and Finance Manager Tom O'Dea were straight talkers and had complete integrity. I ended up leasing the car and fully plan on seeking them out when the lease is up. It is hard to find gems like Danny and Tom and a car dealership. I've got a 2015 Ford Fusion which I'd been bringing to the Ford Store San Leandro since purchase for routine maintenance. It's always been difficult to get an appointment. However, most recently, I tried calling to get an appointment, was left on hold and then ended up leaving a message. I also tried scheduling online but never received a callback (it's just a request submission online, no way to book). Finally, I went in this morning, as there are signs up for Quick Lane (my car is now overdue for an oil change, and I'm becoming desperate). Upon arrival, I was told new management got rid of Quick Lane, even though the signs were still up. I asked to speak to a manager, and was taken to the back where I heard the manager say he didn't want to speak with me, so the employee told me he wasn't in. I went to the reception desk, where they told me the manager was in, went back to the same person, and then came back saying "Oh he's not feeling well." They gave me a card for someone named Kevin Davidson (though I don't know if this is the same person). The person at the desk was also unable to help, stating "Oh I don't know, I don't usually work here." Aside from being very slow on the appointments, I haven't had much of an issue with the service here before, but I can't recommend doing business with this store based on the experience I had with this new management. read more

Forget getting a call back or email returned. Then they hit me with a "oh we have to install a GPS for the remainder of the loan". We purchased a used truck for my husband. Which now we regret. Cant go any lower than 1 star or I would. Took my truck in on 3/21/19 because warning wrench came on. Years ago I dealt with this dealer and was pleased. I am now 70, and did not expect to see a service department decline so much. I have lived in San Leandro since I was 15. Paul, a name that comes up often in Yelp reviews has many times offered to call back, but rarely does.The computer said I needed a Throttle Body, they replaced it and now can't get my truck to run correct. 3 weeks now, called Ford Customer Relations, same standard dog&pony show..ALL talk..not sure what to do next, Dealing now with Consumer Advocates and the City. This dealership has a D-. BBB rating...Customer BEWARE.. Ford Store Morgan Hill has an A+ BBB Rating?? go figure...Give me wisdom and strength Lord ...I do realize that there are so many people in this world who would love to have this as their major issue in life right now, but since I have survived cancer and life issues in general, I just want my truck repaired and returned....Thank you San Leandro Police dept for stacking at least 20 of your vehicles at this dealer doing the same thing, WAITING...Nice to see the city supporting a D- merchant... read more

The Ford store San Leandro is by far one of the most unprofessional and unorganized dealerships/service repair centers I have ever seen or spent money at in my entire 33 years on Earth. Not only are the service advisors mean and completely lack compassion or customer service savvy, they also are extremely incompetent. My car which I purchased a few months back and put a little under 10,000 miles on it would not start (it's a 2016 certified Ford fusion plug-in) So I bring it in to the dealership and have them look at it only for them to tell me they could absolutely find nothing wrong with it even though the engine light was on. The thing that got me the most upset was although I did not have an appointment I purchased the vehicle at San Leandro Ford store so I brought it in on a Monday only for them to take four days to even run a simple diagnostic. It took them two days to even let me know that they had not even looked at my vehicle yet which is a complete communication fumble. The service advisor Paul tells me that Ford does not cover rentals and so not only was I charged for a diagnostic that did not help and told me nothing I also had to pay an additional $200 plus for my rental. Please heed my advice DO NOT buy cars or get them serviced at this dealership they are a complete joke and a absolute stain on the underpants of the Ford brand. I literally will never purchase a ford again because of the experiences at the Ford store San Leandro. Please do not make the mistake I did. read more

I had a extremely unhappy time buying a car ( All the reason that people have said bellow ( hard sale tactics, $3000K over MSRP, you just feel used and dirty )here in december of 2014. But I have been tacking my car here for the last year to get oil changes, and I can tell you its a 2+ hour experience every time. How can Jiffy Lube do it within 15 mins and they take 2 1/2 hours every time ( even when you have an appointment? ). All I can say is this dealership is the worst I have been to. I bring my truck due to the auto stop and start when you release the brake pedal in return it helps save gas. Well they found that there was a problem with the switch... well when they supposedly fixed that part they end up breaking a part that messed up the GPS and the other radio options. Well they got the part to fix what they broke...well fast forward they ended ordering the wrong part and they fucked up more shit they were trying fix!! And now not only is the GPS is not working and now the back up camera doesn't work.. and now my truck has been sitting there for a week and they didn't tell me until when I called about the status.. well I need my vehicle so I picked up my truck and are waiting for another part.. it's weird that they can sell you a vehicle and gave you out with a vehicle unless than a few hours but they can't fixed a vehicle that they broke in the first place. How incompetent are these people? Seriously I should have bought a Ram.. but my dad likes Ford trucks and went with his advice.. never again will I buy from this dealership or a Ford vehicle again. I wasn't sure if I was going to purchase a Ford or what model. San Leandro Ford had many different models to choose from and JR was never pushy when I looked at multiple models. JR was my only contact and he made sure that my needs were met. I really don't like purchasing cars however JR made it an enjoyable experience. read more

Worst experience ever! We were told by a Salesman that they had the SUV with the exact options we wanted in stock and was also told in writing, that we would get it out the door between 40-41K. Took the day off from work and drove 40 miles to discover he had lied to us. Not only did they not have the Vehicle we were promised, they then told us that the best price they could offer would be nearly 5K more. After owning Ford's now for over 30 years, I am now considering another manufacturer. read more

We were supremely disappointed when SF Ford went out of business--they were top notch, courteous, and very easy to work with. This is definitely not the case with the "the ford store" . duh. We went in for a simple service with the idea in our heads that if we could get a decent price on a newer model Focus or an Escape Hybrid we'd do the deal right there. We turned our car in to the service department. We went to the sales floor. We simply asked this: "We want the price of the Escape and the Focus after trade in--if the numbers look right we'll drive away in a new car" He took some information and was gone. 30 minutes passed with us just sitting there--which included us seeing our sales person going to his car to get this lunch out of the trunk-- and still no numbers, still no sales service. The waiting continued. We were there for so long that we figured our car was done and that was the case when we checked on the service department .. So we simply got up and walked off the sales floor with some sales person--not ours-asking where we were going. really? An hour plus to work up two sets of numbers? The service department should have a guy in a clown suit greeting the customers. This was a simple 15k service which included rotating the tires. An hour after leaving our low tire pressure light went on--all of our tires were reset at 26lbs not 32lbs like it said on the invoice. The under hood fluids with the exception of the wiper water seemed untouched. And the tire pressure episode makes us now doubt if they even did what they were supposed to do. We paid for the 5 year service plan at the time of purchase--and the service, er, manager, seemed miffed that it was purchased at a dealership that wasn't their own. He seemed like he was *really* put out and was a complete smug and flippant ass while telling us that they were not going to honor certain things that we paid for as opposed to offering us a solution and a number to call to get it sorted.
