The truffle mac n cheese tastes like someone boiled elbow macaroni in milk and then poured the resulting slurry in a dish.

We believe…read morein 2nd chances :) ORIGINAL POST: Heard about this place from a post in a women's group I'm in and so my guy and I decided to take a drive and check it out. We went in and it was a quaint and cute place. They had a couple of customers so things seemed promising. We noticed seating at the bar and we asked if anyone was sitting there or did they already leave (empty plates and glasses suggested that the previous customers were gone). The guy said it would be a few minutes but we could sit somewhere else for now. The lady was just standing there doing nothing and didn't even greet us. Anyways. we happily sat at a table while we waited for the bar to be cleared. After a moment, we noticed the plates and glasses were removed so we both started to the bar again. The guy was sorting dishes off to the side and the lady was again just standing there so we assumed it was ready, but no one said anything. As we started to sit at the bar I excitedly told the lady that was working there how I heard of the place and I was excited to try it. She gave me a smug "smile" and said nothing. Then turned around to get some glasses. We were starting to feel unwelcome. We were given some food and wine menus and I then noticed that the counter was wet and had some crumbs. I didn't have a napkin so I just pushed the crumbs off to the side and my guy asked if they could wipe the counter. I was surprised that she didn't suggest doing this in the first place, but we didn't notice it was dirty until we sat down. It was fine that it was dirty and they still needed to clean up as we would have waited longer but there was no communication. The lady finally said to us, "we just had a big party and that's why I told you to sit somewhere else", but she wasn't the one who told us, the guy did, and all this would have been totally fine and understandable, but her behavior was unfriendly and rude. A friendlier response would have been more accommodating, like, "oh let me get that for you" (if I was the owner I would have said, "oh sorry about that, I'd be happy to clean that off for you"). We felt like we weren't welcomed so we left.

Their website showed me that we could make an online reservation, but not knowing for sure when we were even leaving home, I left that to chance. When we got there, we were promptly greeted by the hostess. There was seating at the bar, or a table for two in the far corner next to the windows, and we could wait at the bar if we wanted for about 10 minutes. We chose to wait at the door, absorbing the ambience, and we were not disappointed. When we were seated, the waitress was very friendly, and presented us with menus that were almost beyond belief in the quality of the food represented. We both settled for grilled rockfish and clam chowder, a light meal suited to our desire to be good to ourselves. The food arrived and was beautiful, both in its obvious high-quality, but also in its presentation. I'm a stickler for good flatware, and theirs was flawless. The clam chowder was tasty, and full of different ingredients to provide a fun variety of textures in the clams potatoes a bit of corn, etc. The grilled rock fish was a generous fillet, cooked to perfection and presented on a light base of shredded lettuce. The waitress was attentive and knowledgeable, and provided us with a dessert menu that was impossible to make the right choice from, because everything was made in house, including the cinnamon ice cream on the Berry cobbler. We settled for toffee cake and a berry cobbler. Again, generous portions of really fine food, and the waitress cheerfully brought us boxes so we did not have to uncomfortably stuff ourselves with dessert. The view of the ocean was remarkable, and we were there to watch the sunset as we enjoyed our meal. It was a really memorable experience

You can also watch people walking on the beach & fishing boats. The view is beautiful! We started with the croquettes which they served with a delicious sauce. Then we had the Clam Chowder. Which was also excellent. I compare all Clam Chowder to Ivars, and this one didn't disappoint. I had Clam linguine which was loaded with fresh clams I removed from the shells & a light cream sauce. My husband had the Sable fish, which was sautéed & served with Polenta & olives. Very good he said. Our server was very attentive & made great recommendations for wine, beer and food. We didn't have dessert which looked yummy, but opted instead for an after dinner walk on the beach. I definitely recommend Redfish when you are staying in Port Orford, Gold Beach or Bandon. Or just passing through.

5 Stars - A Perfect Anniversary Getaway!…read more My wife Tiffany and I stayed at the guest house at Cooper Ridge Vineyards over the 4th of July weekend for our anniversary, and we had an absolutely wonderful time. The guest house was spotless, very reasonably priced, and gave us the complete run of the vineyard once the tasting room closed. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The property offers both 1- and 2-bedroom options and has gorgeous views overlooking the North Umpqua River and the vineyards perfect for morning coffee or evening wine on the patio. Steve and Paula, the owners, are wonderful, warm people who were incredibly accommodating and made us feel right at home. Their wines are superb, especially the pomegranate sparkling wine, which quickly became our favorite. We also loved the complimentary charcuterie board! The guest house was well-equipped with a washer and dryer, iron, full refrigerator, coffee maker, and plenty of dishware -- everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Located in beautiful Douglas County wine country, it's conveniently just minutes away from many other wineries, making it an ideal base for exploring the Umpqua Valley. Do yourself a favor and book a stay with Steve and Paula at Cooper Ridge Vineyards. You won't be disappointed!

We didn't have a reservation, but we lucked out on scoring a table. It was away from the live music, but you can still see/hear the band. What was so breathtaking was that gorgeous view! I wasn't feeling well that day but the view was a total zen vibe! There's an inside bar area, ample seating outside. It's best to get a reservation or get there early for the outside tables. Restrooms are inside, parking is on the vineyard. The day we were there, they had a taco vendor for food. Overall, this was one of our favorite wineries to visit and hope to be back when we're in the area.
