    Seattle Dog
    Jason T.

I've always been a big fan of the Seattle dog--something about the cream cheese and caramelized onions just hits the spot. While walking along the Seattle Pier, I decided to give The Frankfurter a try. There was a decent line, so I figured it had to be worth checking out. I was genuinely excited to get a taste of one of my favorite street foods. The lady at the counter was friendly and had my Seattle dog ready in no time. But as I watched her prepare it, my expectations started to dip. She pulled out a small cream cheese packet and gave the bun a quick smear--definitely not the generous layer I was hoping for. The onions and bell peppers were sparse and lacked that deep, sweet flavor I associate with a proper Seattle dog. The first bite confirmed it--this was a pretty underwhelming version. The flavors were faint, the bun was just okay, and overall, it felt a little rushed. It probably wasn't the best spot to try a Seattle dog, but the location made it an easy stop. I'll stick to making my own until I find a better one in the city.

I was in Seattle and tried the Seattle dog. I ordered the all beef dog and paid for the cream cheese, peppers and onions. Once I received the dog, I asked the girl I ordered the peppers too, her response was the peppers are the same color had the onions and mixed inside... I'm a ex culinary cook and there was definitely no peppers inside. The dog did not taste like a beef dog, the cream cheese was a packet. I was disappointed with this place. I would not recommend this place!

Good spot if you're craving a solid, no-nonsense dog while strolling the pier. I got the all-beef hot dog and the chicken sausage--both hit the spot. Juicy, well-cooked, no weird fillers or mystery meat vibes. Chicken sausage had a surprisingly great snap and flavor. That said... $6 a pop? A bit much for what it is. I get it--tourist tax, waterfront, etc. But there's a guy in Westlake who smokes his sausages on the spot and charges less. Flavor-wise, that dude's doing laps around this place. Still, if you're hungry and nearby, it does the job. Just know you're paying more for the location than the link.

Quick & friendly service. Great prices. Quality food. Beautiful location. Nice to see this place still stands after all these years.

This was a little place on the pier that had different type of hotdogs for a good price!! They had the seattle style hotdog and it surprised me we came to get more. It was perfect in the afternoon walking the pier as well as the lemonade!! They had an amazing fresh strawberry lemonade. The ladies were lovely and very helpful when asking questions and serving us!

The best hotdogs in town? That's a stretch! I have had better ones before. But this place is really good. Loved the dogs! Hot and made it right in front of us! Picked up a few for the groups! The condiments are kept on the other side of the shop. Service was really great. Hardly anything to complain. Service fast too. By the time you pay the money, the hotdogs are ready! Just enjoy the dogs while walking on the pier! Recommend it.

Visited Seattle for the weekend and my friend told me to try a Seattle dog. I stopped by this stand by the ocean front and ordered the Seattle dog and a strawberry lemonade. The hot dog was surprisingly delicious with the cream cheese and grilled onions. The strawberry lemonade was freshly squeezed and might've been the best I've had. Will def stop by here the next time I'm in Seattle.

My friend and I wanted to try the Seattle dog and so we stopped by after our ferry back from bainbridge. The hotdog was solid and they have a lot of free toppings too, pretty much what you would expect. But I do want to highlight that the lady working inside was really friendly to us. She also helped us cut our dog in half to share it better.

This stand was on the Waterfront and had very reasonable pricing. We ordered a plain hotdog and potato salad to hold us over until our dinner reservation was ready. The hotdog was good, but the bread bun seemed a little stale. The potato salad was a good size, but had way too much mayo and was not the best I've had. Stick with the Hotdogs only.

Kind and caring woman who made us great dogs. We enjoyed the Seattle dogs and a chili dog.

This is a very solid place. The lemonade was some of the best i've ever had. The hotdog was alright, I've probably had better.

Lorenzo opened Paseo in 1994, where his popular Cuban roast pork sandwiches were regarded as among the best in the country. After years of local expansion, Paseo abruptly filed for bankruptcy in 2014. The brand was subsequently bought out by a local entrepreneur, but the sale did not include Paseo's secret recipes (the reboot attempted to reverse engineer the sandwiches with varying success). So, in 2015, Lorenzo's sons revived Paseo under a new name, Un Bien, armed with their father's original recipes. Nowadays, Un Bien is generally regarded as superior to Paseo, and you can grab their Caribbean sandos at one of the three locations across Seattle. You can't miss the pastel pink-and-teal palette of the original shack on an otherwise drab block of Ballard. As you approach the wooden window, you are greeted by the aroma of sauteed meats and veggies. Communal laquered wood benches are lined up underneath a covered pergola. Fifties hits ring respectfully around the kitchen. My partner and I visited for late weekday lunch, and we ordered immediately. We opted to focus on the signature pork shoulder, so we split the #1 Caribbean Roast and #2 The Press. Across both sandwiches, we were impressed by the tender pork, rich onions, lemon-forward aioli, and marinade-soaked baguette. The standard roast pork sandwich added on pickled jalapenos and crisp romaine, culminating in a dynamic flavor that accentuated the meat. Meanwhile, The Press featured tart banana peppers, smoked ham, and melty Swiss, amping up the sweet and savory flavors alike; we agreed that this extra-messy sandwich just edged out the standard version. Our order took just minutes to be prepared, and the bill just topped $30. Despite the fanfare, I still found myself surprised by just how satisfying Un Bien's sandwiches turned out to be. Across all the food I ate in Seattle, only these pork sandwiches would be worth a return visit, even if I had to venture out of my way.

Messy, pricey, totally overrated…read more My family and I visited Un Bien and arrived approximately 45 minutes before closing. We ordered promptly, but were told we would only have about 10 minutes to use the seating area before it closed. When we asked for clarification because the restaurant was advertised as being open until 9:00 PM, staff confirmed they were open until then but said the seating area would close earlier anyway. After receiving our food, we were told not to sit down and were asked to leave the seating area altogether. The interaction felt abrupt and discourteous, especially given that we had arrived well before closing and had purchased food with the expectation that we could eat on-site. The food itself was average, but the poor customer service and inconsistent messaging about seating left a much stronger impression than the meal. There are other better places. Skip.

The restaurant itself leaves a lot to be desired, but I'm not asking too much. I believe the owner said he was trying to revamp the place. I hope that the area comes alive in the future years, that should help. Here's the issue though, this is the slowest spot ever. I've waited 30 minutes for fries - FRIES. I don't mind waiting for food, but it should remain reasonable. There were only two or three people working, and one man did tell us this, but I need to be honest - this was on Super Bowl Sunday. No one was able to get anyone a beer from the tap for 40 minutes, the food took forever and it appeared that online orders were being prioritized (which makes sense, you make as you get orders coming in, but that puts your in person customers in an odd and sometimes frustrating position). To be honest, I probably wouldn't have minded as much if I just had some fries to snack on. I didn't mind as much this one time because I was just happy to find a place to watch the Super Bowl Half Time show, but other days, it's a little hard to look past. I wish this business the best, I live too close to not hope for its improvement! Looking forward to updating my review. At the end of the day, if you're hungry, it's late, this is your spot.

Instead, I received two containers of mac and cheese that were honestly not even edible to us and did not receive the fries I paid for. I have attached photos showing exactly what was delivered. What makes this even more frustrating is that there is apparently no way to contact the restaurant directly. If there's an issue with your order, you're routed to a generic feedback form that offers no immediate assistance, no customer service, and no real way to resolve the problem. I didn't want a survey. I wanted the food I actually ordered. It's incredibly disappointing that they can make a mistake with an order and then create a system where customers have no practical way to reach someone who can fix it. If my order is wrong, I should be able to contact the restaurant and have the issue corrected, not be sent into an online black hole and hope someone reads a form days later. Mistakes happen. What turns a mistake into a terrible customer experience is when there is no accountability and no way to get help. I ordered fries. I got mac and cheese. There was no way to contact the restaurant to make it right. That's not acceptable.
