Food - 1/5 Atmosphere - 3/5 Service - 2/5 Value - 2/5 Would I go back? - No We had saw a lot of good reviews about this place and decided to give it a go. We went on a Wednesday around 6:30pm with a reservation but it was quite empty in the restaurant being a holiday season I was quite surprised. The service was good at the beginning but things slowly slipped away. We had ordered 1 appetizer and 4 entrees to share between 3 people. As I've always done that in the past. Surprisingly our server missed one of the entrees. They didn't repeat the order back to us either, and never came to check up on us how the food was. The server we had was very knowledgeable of the restaurant's food but came off quite cold and dismissive. There was another older gentleman there (presumably the manager or owner), we tried to get their attention a couple of times, he briefly made eye contact but didn't come over and just let the waiter deal with us when he was free. The food was actually quite disappointing. The escargot appetizer was very salty. The calf liver was the only dish that's passable. The beef Wellington came in a puff pastry but the steak lacked a good crusty sear. The nisçoise salad's boiled eggs were over cooked with a gray ring around the yolk. And surprisingly being a French restaurant they use Kalamata olives instead of nisçoise olives which is what the dish is named after. The bouillabaisse was by far the worst I've had, it was way over cooked. All the shrimp, fish and etc were dry, rubbery and tasted like freezer burn. The broth didn't have any flavour other than salt. All the accompany vegetables could also use some attention. The beans look and taste like they came out from a can. The desserts were probably the best dishes of the evening. Atmosphere was cozy and had some interesting features, but not so sure about the glass table tops. The banquet seat cushions were quite dirty and worn down.

We came here for the first time and we were impressed. I felt like I was dining at a Parisian restaurant with delicious traditional French dishes. Everyone was impressed with the food. For starters, we had French onion soup & seared scallops. A couple of us ordered the frites and mussels and the rest had steak and calf liver. The meal ended with to die for desserts - pear almond tart, chocolate profiterole and crème brulee. They offer a great selection of wine, menu items, and fondues. The must order dishes are onion soup, frites and mussels, and chocolate profiteroles! We dined here on a week night and found they only offered two sittings that night. A tip: make reservations and save room for dessert! They offer brunch, lunch, and dinner hours. If you want affordable and delish authentic French food, French Table is the place.

We were very excited to try another French restaurant. We came for brunch and ordered from the lunch menu as well. We got the moules frites (mussels and fries) and it smelled very bad. It Smelled like the mussels have gone bad. I tasted it despite that, and it tasted very very fishy and on top of that had some odor and aftertaste - we had to return the dish and we were given another one which tasted slightly better without the aftertaste, but smell the same. They mentioned that the mussels were not from the morning and was from last night, even though they called it fresh. I think it bothered my stomach a little bit. The white wine sauce was fine. We also ordered the sweet crêpes with berries and The berries were not only not sweet enough, but it was very bitter. Everything was very watery as well, and was not easy to eat. We also ordered the New York Steak medium rare, and it came as if it was prepared in a café. It didn't look fresh and the steak wasn't prepped and tempered well. We also ordered the eggs Benedict with smoked salmon, and the food came quite cold. The bread was great, and the service was very personable. The waiter almost came every five minutes perhaps because we were the only customers at that time. We did make the reservation ahead of time so they could have been prepared for customers at that time.

The French Table is a nice change from all the casual and hipster restaurants on Main. The atmosphere is upscale and elegant, but unpretentious and welcoming. I've been here for dinner and brunch, and all the food has been wonderful. Luckily for me, they always have some great vegetarian options on the the menu. This isn't always the case for french restaurants, so I appreciate that. I look forward to my next visit!

Came here with a group for a birthday The service was amazing, everyone was so helpful and the entire experience was seamless. I managed to try the following: Baguette and butter - this was good Pomme Frites - the best part is their ketchup. I really like it! Escargot - this was one of my favourite Bouillabaisse - this was alright, the potatoes were too huge and lacks flavour. The was barely any fish in it. Nice amount of mussels and clams though. The broth was well seasoned. Pear Tart - this was delicious and light. I really enjoyed it

First time going to a French restaurant in Vancouver. It was a great experience. Duck Confit dish is the best out of all specials.

Small amount of meat for $76--for 2 persons. Pass on this.

The space is much nicer, with high ceilings and lots of light - great looking bistro. I ended up trying the following: - Mussels: Very good. Classic dish, but I really like the use of cream in the broth. - Bánh Mì Cay Hải Phòng (Spicy Baguette Sticks): Good. A nice little snack, although it would be easy to recreate at home. - Lamb Chops: Very good. Cooked just right, and the pepper sauce added extra flavour. - Fried Frog Legs: Very good. This was probably the surprise dish for me. They weren't just the legs, but the entire bottom of the frog, so the pieces were huge. The garlic, butter and chili flakes gave it a extra punch. I really enjoyed this one. - Pho Bo: Good. Not the best pho I've had, but it's good enough to stand on it's own. Service was quite good. Very cheerful and quite attentive. Overall a nice meal. It's a great space, the food is solid, and service to match. What I really like is having the variety of both French and Vietnamese dishes, without either of them suffering in quality. Only downside is that is it expensive for what you get.

The front of the house/bar area seems to be more vibrant colours with the bright pop of red which ties into the rugs in the main dining area. I'd probably remove the second rug but if I had to guess, I'd say red may be Feenie's favourite colour as it is a touch out of place. With Michelin stars making their debut in Vancouver only a few years ago, it seems that perhaps Le Crocodile may be gunning for a star as much of the Lower Mainland seems to be. The level of service is excellent; friendly and speedy, everything you could ever want. The food is elevated but has more non-french or fusion themes going on than before. The foie gras terrine topped with cherries is the perfect combo of sweet and creamy; the brioche really brings it home. The French onion soup is gooey and rich with depth of flavour however the cheese had a bit too much of a smoky burnt taste as opposed to a charred broil. The dover sole was perfectly de-boned at table side and my mouth was watering while watching. It could've used a touch more seasoning but other than that the sides made it so elegantly French that it brought tears to my eyes. I could have done with a touch less beurre blanc as it was almost on the verge of drowning the beautiful dover sole. The presentation of Le Crocodile's dishes are truly Michelin level. I thoroughly enjoyed the medium-rare veal with what seemed to be home-made pasta and the sauce that raised it to the next level. Desserts were great and although the mini chocolates at the end are no longer in a crocodile shape they do have a decorative gold crocodile made by no other than Thomas Haas which brings in the local vibes. There were tiny things such as the scratched bread plates, the loose tea on the tea pot lid, and a small fibre in the menu which are going to be the very difference between staying at this high level and gaining a star that will need to have more attention to detail. With all that said, I'd still recommend anyone who loves French cuisine to make sure to stop by this spot.
