Cappuccino

Came in for Mother's Day and it was a bit disappointing. It was extremely warm inside, just felt like stagnant air, plus the door opening and closing pulling all the outside humid air in didn't help. Our server was nice, but barely attended to us. We saw him maybe 3 times during our entire meal. Which normally would be fine, but we actually needed things so checking in would have been helpful. The food was just so so. It looked better than it tasted. The pastry starters were alright, very rich. And the Nutella French toast was so sweet, I only had about 4 bites. But it all looked nice. Also note they do not have flavors for coffees.

Whether you choose to park on the street, use valet, or a nearby lot, expect to pay when visiting Steelbach. The ambiance leans masculine, with deep, comfortable chairs that create a relaxed dining atmosphere. I stopped by for dinner and ordered Maud's fried chicken. It typically comes with hot honey and red eye gravy, though I opted out of both. I was surprised (in a good way) to receive a full half chicken--definitely a generous portion. The chicken was cooked through perfectly, lightly breaded, and not overly salty. That said, it did feel like it was missing a bit of flavor, which may have been due to skipping the hot honey.

Hangover burger and Lime in the coconut
Stephanie L.

Finally tried Steelbach for Father's Day brunch and I am already looking forward to my next visit. I drank a deliciously tangy Lime in the Coconut. The hangover burger was yummy and filling! I had to take the breakfast potatoes home. The kids bento boxes are so cute! They get an entree, side, fruit or veggie, and a dessert. Our party also tried the smoked brisket eggs Benedict and French toast. Everything was delicious. We were too full for dessert, but hopefully next time!

First time at Steelbach. Wait staff was just ok. After our food arrived he seemed to be done I think it's usually nice to check in just after you get the food to ensure it was what was expected or if anything else is needed. I had the crab and Brie omelet and I'm not sure I even tasted any crab. Certainly not what I expected. The French toast was very sweet. Again, a normal wait staff would ask if it was ok since only a couple of bites were missing at the end. Finally, the interior was stuffy or humid. When we walked into the mall area it was noticeably cooler. Not sure if Steelbach needed fans or if they should have directed patrons to enter via the mall side instead of the street. I guess we were expecting a nice Mother's Day meal and it ended up being just ok.

What an amazing last minute move to have brunch here on Sunday! The four of us walked in and the staff to find us a table outside was awesome. They kept us updated and sat us after a brief wait. Our server was amazing and to start with a cocktail I did their French75 along with their Hangover Burger. The reason the Food fell one star short of 5 was because I felt the French75 was served warm. I'm not sure if the Champagne was warm or the glass wasn't chilled but that was the only mark. That burger was beyond amazing as well as the well cooked and seasoned fries!! We loved it and would come back again but perhaps for dinner service!

Farmhouse Salad with Sirloin, side Fruit Plate, French 75

Visiting Tampa on business and meeting a "foodie" friend for lunch. Initially found Steelbach in the Michelin Guide and short-listed, my friend had never been so that decided it. Booked a lunch reservation for noon on Open Table about a week prior, she arrived on-time and chose a shady spot on the patio, I was just a couple minutes behind. Service was excellent, we initially were catching up and waitress gave us space to decide what we wanted and answered all our questions. She drank a local beer and I had a French 75 which really hit the spot. We both had salads with steak on them and shared the "side of fruit" which was one of the nicest fruit plates I've ever had. Steak on both salads was cooked perfectly. This is a great restaurant in a great scenic spot, highly recommend.

Chicken & Dumplings for one. So delicious!

Hunter took care of us and was outstanding. He explained the dishes, sauces, specials with exquisite detail and served us the best cornbread I've ever had. I also enjoyed the chicken and dumplings. The portions here are more than enough for the heaviest of appetites. Great setting and atmosphere. Loved it!

$22.80 Steelbach Burger. BURNT BUN, Gruyère, onion jam, dijonnaise and house pickles...just "ok" for me.

We ordered Uber Eats. At $22.80 a burger we probably wouldn't have tried it but they were BOGO. The bun on my burger was partially burnt, but the individual cooking and or the individual expediting decided it would be good idea to serve it anyway. My thought is that at $22.80 (BOGO notwithstanding) I would expect BETTER. The burger itself: I have to admit that the quality of the beef is good. It is a bit gamey though and really moist / greasy...bun didn't hold up and could use some black pepper and a sprinkle of Maldon's sea salt. It was missing "something"....and I'm not sure the dijonnaise and onion jam were included as sadly, I didn't taste either one. There was a fair amount of Gruyère cheese. The house made pickles were Meh...it's a sweet acidic flavor that needs more balance...dill would be better against the heartiness of the beef. The French fries were flavorless. How is that possibl

Went here for brunch today and had a great experience! The service was attentive and quick, and we enjoyed sitting outside where it was peaceful and relaxing. I ordered the steak and eggs, which were absolutely delicious. Overall, a great spot for brunch, and I'd definitely come back!

Seafood tower
Anna T.

Most incredible dining experience I e had in a long time. The wait staff were so incredible kind and welcoming, has the best atmosphere. Tried the seafood tower and felt like it was a great value for everything you get. The salad portion was also huge and I feel shareable for 2-3 people. Will absolutely be coming back

Ambiance: The restaurant itself was very nicely decorated and felt cozy. Love that you can see the cooks firing up the cookers and preparing the food. The biggest downside was the noise level. This place was very loud on a Friday evening. They sure can fit a lot of people in here so with so many people talking, you can barely hear your friends. 4/5 Food: we were most excited about the food. The paid attention to detail in the presentation but I'd have to say that there were no standout dishes that we tried. They each seemed to be missing flavor or very much seasoning for that matter. We're told that the steak is what people come for and the table next to us did order it and it did look really good. 3/5 Drinks: very well done. No complaints 5/5 Service: Our server was informative, attentive and polite. She knew the menu well and was able to expand on her favorites and made great recommendations. 5/5 Overall: I would be interested in revisiting for their steak and the drinks again. The Armature Works area is certainly a great location with lots of options. Parking can be a bit challenging but they did have valet options, street parking and a parking lot area.

Had to check back two years after my five-star first impression to drop another five on it. Steelbach has been one of my favorite brunch and dinner destinations ever since. Consistent in serving up desirable gluten-free dishes, great cocktails, local grass-fed beef, the BEST buffalo cauliflower, and flavorful mimosa flights. The French onion soup with braised short rib is also worth mentioning. Great staff. I highly recommend the valet on weekends since Armature Works is so lively.

Monkey bread and rolling shrimp
Cyandra Y.

I came here during Saturday brunch and everything was delicious! I had no complaints. I had the monkey bread, rolling shrimp and skirt steak. The monkey bread was warm and delicious and not overly sweet. The rolling shrimp was good! I was expecting something different but these were really good spring rolls!! One of the best I've had. The skirt steak was REALLY good. They cooked it perfectly and the salad it came with complimented it well. Not pictured is the lychee Martine. Which was Also good drink too. More of the sweeter side though. The server was nice , on point and knowledgeable too! The restaurant was a modern brick wall restaurant with a good location. It is pay to park also and a little hard to find parking unless you do valet . Overall, i will definitely be back for the rolls, skirt steak and drink!

Food smashed into the dirty carpet, menus smeared with grease, slimy handprints on every glass and plastic surface. Is the place cleaned by toddlers?! If the missed health standards aren't enough to deter people (wish I'd read those beforehand), the layers of grime should be a red flag. If that's what customers are seeing, imagine the kitchen. Also, the food was bad. Like everything. Grisly gnarled chicken, inedible, dry cornbread, and nasty mac and cheese. I didn't try anything else because it was so gross. My family members also hated their food. Staff waited until the last minute to refill things as it seemed like someone is opting to cut some sharp corners. Again, I felt bad for everyone working there. It seemed busy enough to turn a profit, yet there was something depressing about the vibe. I came here last year with my dad, and it wasn't like this, so it was disappointing. We were relieved to get out for under $100, but it was just nightmare fuel. Not worth it. A full service bar and restaurant on one side and a lounge type atmosphere on the other side with a live DJ. They play a variety of rnb and hip hop from old school to modern day. I really had a nice time. The reason only 4 stars was due to the host not being actively present at the reception area when you walk in. He was too busy on the lounge side dropping it like it was hot and helping the bottle girls "hold" the sign. We stood at the host stand upon entry for a while until someone went to get him from the other side. The food was just "ok". For the price of the food I expected more. I had the lemon pepper honey wings and the chicken and French toast. The wings were not cooked through and served in a bowl which made it very difficult to eat. It came with 2 cornbread muffins that were dense and very dry. The French toast was great. I opted for the one with peaches and icing. It was great. It was served with chicken tenders. Again, in a bowl, which made it very difficult to cut, as I had to dig in the bowl. They were ok, a little on the dry side, the breading was falling off but they were edible. The drinks were flowing and the vibe was good. No complaints there. Would I go back??? Yes, I'll probably try something different on the menu. I feel like if the service was a bit better, more attention to detail on the food and the plating of food was different it would have earned 5 stars. But I had an overall nice time.
