(It's NOT a barbershop... but easily mistaken for one.) All made with real fruits. Orange is real orange; not a sugary syrup. We heard them say they had swap out the açaí cone for blueberry-basil one of our days because Costco didn't have the açaí juice. This is by far the best shave ice I've ever had anywhere and I don't know if I'll ever have another shave ice without thinking about this one. Only problem we had was going back for a second time. First time we tried, they were out of all the fruit recipes by 4:00. The next time we got there by 1:30 and the store was closed for maintenance. We are trying again today. Not a fan, sadly. Don't order the chai shave ice unless you want super watered-down chai ice. I had to request for the worker to add more syrup, which did not make it better. They could make that syrup wayyyy more concentrated and added a thicker topping as their cream. The ice is acceptable but not as soft as other shave ice places in Hawaii. I would skip. Hands down the best shaved ice place in Kauai in my opinion! We got the Chevron, which was coconut + lime with coconut chia seed on top -- super refreshing after a long hike! The fruit syrups did not taste overly artificial or too sweet, which is my gripe with a lot of shaved ice places (for example, I did not like Jojo's Shaved Ice as much). I want to come here again to try their other flavors! There was essentially no line when we went at around 4pm on Friday, and we got our shaved ice very quickly after we ordered. We ate outside in a beautiful outdoor area with benches shaded by trees. Parking might be kind of hard to find depending on time of day. I ordered the handlebar and fu mangchu, which were so bad.. I hate wasting food but I threw away both of them, which were $10 each. The syrups had barely any flavor and the ice was not as soft as other places. It was just fine for us. We decided to try one of their new flavors The Einstein which is supposed to be blueberry basil lemon but couldn't taste the basil at all. We could only taste the lemon more towards the end when the ice melted more. The honey on top was so bitter too. Located near Old Kōloa Town, this is a spot that's not to be missed! Google Maps may mess with you a bit. From Poipu, it took me into a residential area behind the shops. I recommend just parking in the business lot and walking over. When we walk in, you're immediately hit with the smell of fresh citrus. It smells like a smoothie shop! They prepare their own syrups in small batches without the use of artificial additives, preservatives or colors. They were literally cutting fresh fruit for their toppings as we walked in. My youngest got the Fu Manchu (strawberry, banana and cream). I couldn't decide between the Caterpillar (orange creamsicle) or the Chevron (lime and coconut). Best shave ice in Kauai, don't even waste your money on the other ones as I did. First time I went for the Chevron, wife usually shuns coconut but loves coffee so tried Dirt Squirrel. Wife had a spoon of my chevron and it was off to the races to attach the chevron! The chevron flavor was so memorable, the next day wife wanted to get it again. 30 mins from east side hotel, not a problem for me to drive for this kind of flavor. But store closes at 6pm, so could not... With schedule fully packed daily, not easy to get back to the Koloa area with all the things to do. But down to the last day on Kauai, had to go for The Fresh Shave no matter what. Time was a nailbiter leaving for it after all the day's to do's, was going to be a toss up whether could get there by 6pm. There isn't any indoor seating, but there is plenty of seating in the adjacent common courtyard. As you can see in my pic, the shaved ice was appropriately sized. Therefore, my comparisons were this restaurant with every other shaved ice place I've had before. The ambiance was nice, with plenty of outdoor seating.
