I'm our hunt for the best brunch spots on our travels our searches quickly pointed to The Friendly Toast and we were not disappointed! Upon arrival at the Danvers location, which is one of almost a dozen locations spanning the Northeast. Upon arrival it was clear the space was a new life on another national chain whose location had shuttered but they had taken to the next level with a spacious patio and exciting 50s diner-esque interior. We started off with their new seasonal Endless Summer Mimosa Flight, ranging from raspberry and mango flavor to a more tradition tequila sunrise vibe I ordered the Breakfast Burrito with Crumbled Chorizo & Waffle Fries (which I asked for a side of mayo to mix up my own fry sauce and was charged $1.00?) and the flavor from the roasted corn to the hash browns and egg to the added touch of the toasted tortilla in both sides was phenomenal, especially with a touch of Choulola My wife ordered the Cubano Benny and upgraded to Fruit Salad as her side, and the egg gave a nice oozing touch to the flavorful pork sitting astop a hashbrown versus your traditional English muffin, making it more crisp and delectable. The portion sizes were just right enough to have a self half for a mid afternoon snack as we continued our adventures. Another delicious lunch with the best , friendliest most professional and knowledgeable bartender/server who always welcomes me with a smile and kind words ! Not too busy today but it's generally a quiet atmosphere as it is today .Food is always delicious . In my humble opinion, The Friendly Toast and all its locations that have the same menu, is the best breakfast deli I've found! I tried the Irish Benny Benedict and can't not order it every time I step into this place, either in Danvers or in Andover. We also had the Monster Breakfast, the breakfast fried wraps. But I like the Irish Benny with my penchant for beef hash. Their homemade English Muffins are truly thick and tasty with the poached eggs and hash on them; almost impossible to cut through they're so thick! All the sweet items, all the French toasts and pancakes, sound great too! Service is always fast and excellent no matter how busy they've been. read more

We arrived at a really busy time but we were almost immediately acknowledged and seated. Every staff member we came in contact with was extremely down to earth and nice! They have an extensive breakfast/lunch menu. There were many things I'll be back to try! Our chicken sandwich may have been the best I've ever had. The perfect amount of hot honey over a Rice Krispie breading! Topped with pickled onion/pickle slaw, and an everything bagel aioli!? The flavors were out of this world! I was told that The Friendly Toast is really good for people with allergies, so I decided to give it a try. I have celiac, so I told the host as soon as I entered, and he opened the menu to show me the gluten-free labels that are on the menu. He also said that most of the menu can be prepared, gluten-free, that I shouldn't have anything in the fryer and that they take the allergies very seriously. I sat at the bar and the server reiterated the allergy protocol, so I felt super safe. I also saw the host/manager go back to the kitchen and mention the word celiac, so they really are doing a great job. Food was good - the sausage patties were GREAT! I had to get out of the city for an errand but wanted brunch. Do I go back downtown or see what is here in Danvers area. No wait when we showed up and had a table waiting. The music was very enjoyable, compliments to the playlist. The decor is so distracting, you will want to walk around and check things closer. My server was quick, knowledgeable and attentive. I loved my food and the speed that it got to me. Parking is very easy with their house parking lot. If I get out to Danvers, this will be tops on my list. I go to your restaurant alot I love the staff and the food. However today my sons and myself and furtive daughter in law went for breakfast I haven't seen them in a few months they have been very busy. I get it was busy but we were asked to leave which is very rude to me what kind if customer service is that? I don't know if I will come back there you have lost a good customer I've never been kicked out of a restaurant for talking if there was a time limit on when to eat you should tell people as you seat them. After very much debate, my friends and I decided on coming here for brunch. I called ahead to see if they take reservations, but the host told me they do through the Yelp waitlist. Timing the reservation wasn't too bad as you get live updates by the minute. You can also see how far into the line you are, in case, you decide to go somewhere else, and can easily cancel. There is plenty of parking as they had their own lot surrounding the building. For drinks we ordered their Classic Bloody Mary's, Pickled Bloody Mary, apple juice, Red Eye Irish Coffee, and Dreamsicle. We were all very happy with our choices. As someone who has only had one very disappointing Bloody Mary before, I was pleasantly surprised by theirs. We shared the stuffed tots as an appetizer which came out in under 5 minutes. The crispy outside was perfect for grasping the creamy mayo it was served on top of. For entrees we got their Benny, burritos, classic breakfast, and Chicken cordon bleu Benny. All the entrees came out in a timely manner and well presented. I loved the cordon blue Benny as it was filling and delicious. But the home fries were slightly burnt and a bit mushy. As a dessert, we shared the king cakes which were banana pancakes with slices of bacon and a drizzle of peanut butter syrup. They weren't as fluffy as I prefer but the toppings were sweet and salty. Overall, I had a phenomenal experience. Our waitress Fiona was incredibly attentive especially given how busy they were on a Saturday morning. Maybe is great for locals considering there are not many choices in the area. The place is super popular, I would strongly recommend getting a reservation if at all possible. As for me, I wasn't impressed. The food was mediocre at best and way overpriced. My rancheros was ok, came out lukewarm. Coffee was decent, nothing special. Stopped by The Friendly Toast on a Friday morning for breakfast. We were greeted and seated immediately. The restaurant was clean and the seating was comfy. Our server inquired if it was our first time visiting and I said yes. He said welcome but didn't really orient me on the menu. I wanted something to eat but wasn't extremely hungry so I kept my ordering light. I ordered one pancake with blueberries on top and soft bacon. I like my bacon limp and not crispy. The food was mediocre. My bacon was not cooked to my liking and the pancake was underwhelming. For my beverage selection I tried the mimosa flight and that was really tasty. They had a traditional mimosa and the some other variations of mimosas. I would for sure recommend trying the mimosa flight. The old Applebees is now The Friendly Toast, located in Danvers by the Liberty Tree Mall is a breakfast spot one should not wait to try. Strolled in on a brave Sunday morning and got seated right away. Which was great because we was on a mission. The hostess was nice, she asked if we've been here before and since I haven't been here, she welcomed me and told me where the bathroom was which I thought was very useful. My son loved his chocolate pancake and bacon so much that he ordered a side of bacon after he finished his plate. I had the chicken cordon bLEU benny, absolutelyyyy fabUlous!!!! Big portions. Saved half for lunch. I'll definitely get that again. Our waitress was Ashley, she was awesome. She didn't check up on us but just enough, just how I like it. If you haven't tried this spot yet, I recommend not waiting and get over to The Friendly Toast ASAP. Try to go early because it does tend to get over crowed and the wait time can be long. I gave 2 stars only because my companion enjoyed their Irish eggs Benedict, ( I STRONGLY suspect this is made up of pre- cooked items ) I ordered a black coffee and 2 slices of cinnamon raisin toast, the coffee was so muddy, with a BURNT and BITTER taste I couldn't drink it, the bartender/server was pleasant enough until I sent back the coffee, then the toast arrived, definitely NOT FRIENDLY, it was BURNT BEYOND RECOGNITION and angry, that was also sent back, attitude from the server was definitely hostile while using polite language, if they can't produce a decent coffee or toast why bother at all? read more
