Korean Chicken and Waffles. The chicken is on another level, crispy on the outside, tender and flavorful on the inside.

Visited on a Sunday evening. We enjoyed every plate that hit our table! Such attention to detail for everything from food, service, and atmosphere. The bartender is excellent, he is very friendly and has an awesome energy! The tapas here are a must-have, all the different flavors go so well together. Such beauty throughout The Fritz!

My friend and I stopped in here absolutely famished and we left completely satisfied. All the food really hit the spot. We decided to go family style and share everything because there were so many tempting menu items we wanted to try. The highlight was definitely the burger. It really hit the spot. The sweet potatoe fries were also delicious. The onion tart was really hyped up but we honestly thought that was just alright. The Mac and cheese was super yummy and comforting. Nice drink selection at the bar and happy they were carrying mezcal! Will definitely return when back in Salida.

Special. Mussels & frites w/AMAZING aioli!

We came here based on a recommendation from a fellow Joyful journeys hot springs goer. This place is adorable & we've probably walked by here several times when in town but since they don't open till 4 we never visited. I love the brick walls & art in this space. We started with an old fashioned & a blood orange margarita. Both were ok. More notable was the La Fin Du Monde on tap! We also decided to get the special which was Mussels & frites. First of all the aioli on the frites & mussels, I'm pretty sure crack was in it, IT WAS INCREDIBLE!! the mussels were humongous, some were gritty & the garlic wine sauce they were floating in could've used salt. We also agreed that when there's a wine sauce bread should be mandatory. Cute place! I'm sure as long as we visit the area we'll stop by & try other specials & small plates & of course get la fin du monde on tap!

Close: Brie chicken sandwich Far: Ahi tuna and brussel sprouts

Really good. The brie & chicken sandwich is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The brie is perfectly creamy and compliments the sweet & tart flavors from the apple. The chicken is grilled wonderfully. I tried my friend's prosciutto & pear sandwich as well. I can say all of the same good things about it; the two sandwiches taste very similar. It comes down to whether you prefer prosciutto or chicken (I preferred the chicken slightly). The fries were great too. Crispy and salted to perfection. The ahi was also delicious. The freshness from the cucumber paired with the spice of the aoli for a savory flavor, while the creaminess of the ahi contrasted the crisp wanton excellently. My third friend said his burger was "top ten burgers" The service was very friendly and the wall art was very cool too. We'll definitely be coming back here.

Onion tart is the bomb! Friendly staff and nice vibe. Sat at the bar and it's a cozy cute place!

What a great first dining experience I had at The Fritz! Friendly wait staff, amazing food and an energetic atmosphere to boot! Looking around the restaurant, you can see other Customers are happy too! Several parties patiently waited outside in the cold for a table to open up too. That says a lot! The staff thanks patrons as they leave too. Very nice. I had the Bibb lettuce salad, bacon wrapped dates and a burger. Each were exceptional!

Ceviche with fried wontons. Pretty yummy.

Great little hole in the wall bar with fantastic upscale tapas! We went later in the evening on a weeknight and there was still a wait but it wasn't too long. There was only one waitress so service was somewhat slow but she was doing a great job trying to keep up. We shared the Ahi Tuna Ceviche which was tasty. He got the Chicken Tika Masala and I opted for the Duck Confit. He enjoyed his dish. Plenty of spice but not too much. My duck surprised me a little. I had anticipated a breast but it was a small leg/thigh. The flavor was nice but there wasn't much meat. It was tasty but on the dry side. On the plus side of that - room for pie and ice cream!! Blueberry pie and ice creams were fantastic! Plenty of beer/cocktail options too. Fun place! Would definitely go again to try more dishes. We saw some delectable things coming out of the kitchen. Definitely try them when you're in town and plan to eat your way thru the entire menu!

Is there a place outside to sit with your dog?

The Fritz does have a lovely patio which is open seasonally. However, the city of Salida and Chafee County Health Department does not allow dogs on restaurant patios.

The corn dogs were slightly burnt (in our opinion) but the flavor was very good, we would order again. However I think the chips are a miss....just serve them without them and charge a little less in my opinion, they aren't needed. We liked both sauces. The potatoes we originally ordered with the fried egg but the server forgot (she was very apologetic) and got one out to us after a few mins. The egg honestly did nothing to the dish. We wish the potatoes were crispier for sure but the garlic aoli was good. However, we prob wouldn't order it again. The masa cakes were good, I would order again but nothing mind blowing. Overall it was just ok. I think what kind of set our decision to probably not return is the fact that a table near us had asked the server something (we aren't exactly sure what) and she took their dish back and then proceeded to talk crap about them in the server/kitchen area. My husband said the table didn't hear her but I don't know how they didn't as she was talking very loudly about how "my tables are so annoying today! The things people ask for are crazy" (etc) and it made me really uncomfortable. I used to be a server and can understand frustrations with customers but it was unprofessional to talk crap about them when other customers can hear.

Impeccable service and a creative cocktail menu rounded out the evening. Highly recommend!

I purposely left my service animal outside while I checked the menu to see if I wanted to eat there while I'm traveling in Colorado. I've been hiking the trails and lady and I needed a little rest so we went to what I heard was the cheapest best burger in town. I even wanted to get a beer to relax and charge my phone while I was there but I never made it to the table because the moment I went to take my backpack off a lady came up behind me and told me that she had a reel with the emphasis on real service animal and that if my dog wasn't a real service animal that I should go to the back porch which I wouldn't be opposed to if mine wasn't a service animal. I travel on commercial airlines and trains with her. I go everywhere with her. Well, I responded that she shouldn't assume that my dog wasn't a real service animal and that set her off. She told me that she was the bartender and that I could get the f out of the restaurant if I talked to her that way. And started screaming at me that I was out of control. So I left promptly. I have sent a letter of intent to the owner of the restaurant letting him know that I will be suing both him and her personally for the incident. It shouldn't be that hard to get a burger and a beer when you're disabled. They made me give it stars.

Nestled among the peaks of the Sawatch Range, where tumbleweeds might theoretically roll if they weren't caught in the spokes of a passing bicycle, sits an establishment of peculiar perfection: The Biker & The Baker. My compass has unerringly pointed to their door every single time I visit Salida over the past five years. It is a tradition forged in sugar and chain grease, where the rugged American West meets the precision of French pastry. Pairing high-desert riding with artisanal baking seems like a recipe for a pile-up, but the execution here is a sweet ride. You will find aerodynamic cyclists sitting elbow-to-elbow with flannel-draped modern prospectors, united by a singular quest for butter. The Biker handles the gears, the Baker handles the tiers. They aren't just coasting on charm; they are pedaling toward culinary triumph, baking up a storm that rivals the monsoons over the Arkansas River. The confections are miniature monuments to indulgence. I have routinely panned for gold in this valley, but the true motherlode is their lemon tart--a symmetrical marvel of citrus striking like a high-noon sun. Their charcuterie boards are arranged with the geometric exactitude of a surveyor mapping a railroad. Whether you are gearing up to summit Mount Shavano or recovering from a grueling promenade, this sanctuary provides the requisite fuel. It is the exceedingly charming destination itself.

It was a beautiful day so the patio was very comfy; I hate being too hot or too cold when eating, so this was perfect. We took a very long time catching up, but our waitress was extremely friendly and patient. She was great. We ordered a couple of dishes to start (tacos and a salad) and chatted away until we chose our next plates. Each dish that came out was very tasty, beautifully presented, and arrived very quickly. My favorites were the dates and crème brûlée dishes lol. I've had a massive sweet tooth lately so I found these extra yummy. Price was pretty reasonable for two people; our bill came out to be about $75, and that included two mixed drinks as well as all of the food seen here (though don't be fooled because we got two plates of the dates!). Second off, The food was AMAZING per usual. I had the Wagyu steak and it was cooked perfectly, I usually hate going out for steak because I find it to never be seasoned as much as I'd like but this took the cake. The blue cheese dip with chips was so delicious, like possibly one of the best things we have ever tasted.
