I recently visited family in Dahlonega, Georgia and we participated in the "chocolate crawl" located in the square. The Fudge Factory was listed on our "passport", so we stopped by. Their fudge is absolutely delicious, you were able to select a flavor to sample and my grandson selected a pretzel covered in chocolate and sprinkles! Always very friendly and excellent service, even with the amount of people that day, it was busy! Very fun atmosphere and lots of great goodies!!!!

We loved Dahlonega and this was one of our favorite places we visited while in town! We met the owner who was actively making candy and giving out samples. He was kind and genuine - you can tell he is passionate about his business and customers. They have a wide selection of sugar free treats here, which is pretty rare! Everything else looked and smelled amazing as well. The owner also told us about a new business venture with coffee, which is being sold in the shop as well. I definitely recommend stopping in while in the area to support this local business!

On the stage- a White and a milk pnut butter cup. In the audience is a dark rice krispie treat, dark carmel salted pretzel and dark toffee.

The smell of this place alone tells you it's going to be great! There's a mix of chocolate and coffee that greets you from the sidewalk and pulls you in like a pie cooling on a windowsill. I was glad we ate prior to going, as I would have likely drained my bank account if I went on an empty stomach! We ordered a variety of items, and they were neatly wrapped individually, in one box. The milk chocolate was my favorite, and although I'm not usually a fan of white chocolate, I'd gladly eat it again! The raspberry truffle was one of the best I've had. You may notice it's not in my picture - only because I could not resist waiting. Everything was delicious and kept nicely for a day or two. Next time we are in the area, we will certainly stop here.

If you like sweets then you're going to love this place! This specialty food store is located across the main plaza. As soon as you go into the store a delicious baking aroma filled me. They make specialty sweets such as fudge, pecan brittle, peanut brittle, chocolates, cookies and more. I tried a piece of the peppermint fudge and liked it. I ended up trying and buying a box of pecan brittle and a box of chocolate bonbons. I recommend this place for those with a sweet tooth!

Great selection, delicious. A cornerstone of the Dahlonega landscape! Always serving up samples also.

We had our 12 lb bundle of puppy joy with us so to the back deck we went. I think Dakotah was the only server on the main floor, both inside and out because it took a long time. Long time for water. He was busy even though the restaurant wasn't full. Poor guy. My hubby ordered the muffaletta and wasn't impressed. He ate it though. He loved his Abita root beer. I decided to order from the side menu and I'm so happy I did. The andouille sausage was grilled and tasty. The maque choux was amazing. Think Mexican corn with a Louisiana twist. Perfection!! The loaded grits were also wonderful- chocked full of gouda, bacon, and green onions. Delicious! The gumbo was thick like a stew. The flavor was smoky and sublime. My only beef is instead of all gumbo, the cup was filled mostly with rice... topped with gumbo. Overall we enjoyed our dinner. However, due to the pace of things, the underwhelming sandwich and perception of getting shorted on the chicken and gumbo. I wouldn't hesitate to swing by and order a maque choux to go as a snack except they charge $1 for the to-go container.

I had Prosecco, brussel sprouts (that she recommended) and the shrimp and grits. So delish! The low country boil really looked good too. The staff even pour a birthday candle in the chocolate cake we ordered since we were celebrating a birthday. Nice touch. While we were dressed up, some people were in tshirts and shorts. But most people weren't. I would definitely recommend this spot right on the square.

Plus it provided great people watching off the square! I was sat at a clean outdoor table. There was a roof overhead with fans so it was nice and shady. Aidan promptly took my drink order & offered to answer any questions I had about the menu. Per his recommendation, I ordered the Low Country Boil. While I waited for my well-paced food, my table neighbors and I chatted. It was really lovely! Aidan presented the food and it was quite the presentation! A big bowl, bag o' Boil, a bib, extra napkins, and a wet wipe. Beautiful! The boil at first looked small but upon opening, it was generally portioned with at least 16 shrimp (that were perfectly cooked), red potatoes, & corn on the cob. I could've added dungeness crab for an additional $25. It was not hot-spicy but it was well-seasoned with Old Bay. It was delicious!!! Aiden kept my drinks filled & cold. He even offered a to-go drink. He was attentive & on point. I'd ask for him by name next time- he was a fantastic server!!! I'll bring my hubby back next time. It was a great experience and as of this writing, there have the best health score on the square.

This was about…read more10-15 minutes from campus (downtown Dahlonega) I attended a wedding of my friends Katherine and Chris at the winery - honestly I didn't taste any of the wine (yes I know, bad) but enjoyed myself. The venue is pretty spectacular with great views of the surrounding hills and valleys along with the vineyards as the hang of the side of the mountain. There were two aspects that pushed my opinion down a bit, neither are really the fault of the venue or business so I've stayed with the 5-stars. The wedding was held in an outdoor pavilion with great views, but during the first week of August quite hot. There are ceiling fans but they didn't help too much - I was sweltering in my jacket and tie by the time the ceremony ended (just be aware if you book something here during the hot season). The second, there are a lot of stairs as you are on the side of a mountain. If you have a hard time traversing a lot of stairs, there are other means of getting around so once again be aware. The main "hall" has windows with fantastic views. I thought the food was exceptional and wish I had taken more photos, but there were a lot of poor lighting (I was seated next to the dance area). My apologies for the missing check in and the lack of photos but I didn't want to be obnoxious at a wedding. Overall I love the rustic charm of this place and plan to return and more fully explore the wine offerings. I thought the service was exceptional with very accommodating staff, especially the bartenders.

We parked at the bottom of the venue and had to climb the stairs to the top. If you're lucky, you might catch a ride in the golf cart, but if you're seated in the back, hold on tight because it's a steep ride! We came for the Sunday brunch buffet, which features a different theme each month and never disappoints. If brunch isn't your thing, you can enjoy a wine tasting in the tasting room located below the main dining area. If you're there for brunch, you're also allowed to go back and forth between the tasting room and dining room during your allotted table time. I definitely recommend visiting any time of year; the views alone are worth the trip!
