We walked in and were greeted by Emily and Rebekah that set the tone for a great confectionery experience. The selections were amazing and we later the majority of those delicious treats are made in house. I tried a sample of a chocolate, vanilla and peanut butter fudge that was delicious. We bought some goodies for the ride including milk chocolate pecan turtles, white chocolate turtles, milk chocolate covered cookie and cheese straws. The ambiance was pure hospitality at its finest. I recently visited family in Dahlonega, Georgia and we participated in the "chocolate crawl" located in the square. The Fudge Factory was listed on our "passport", so we stopped by. Their fudge is absolutely delicious, you were able to select a flavor to sample and my grandson selected a pretzel covered in chocolate and sprinkles! The chocolate is good but there are 3 good chocolate shops on the square. This is by far the rudest shop on the square. No matter what counter you are looking at, they position themselves at the counter furthest from you and say "all counters are the same" while refusing to walk over and answer your questions. Do yourself a favor and support better people. read more

We loved Dahlonega and this was one of our favorite places we visited while in town! We met the owner who was actively making candy and giving out samples. He was kind and genuine - you can tell he is passionate about his business and customers. They have a wide selection of sugar free treats here, which is pretty rare! Everything else looked and smelled amazing as well. The owner also told us about a new business venture with coffee, which is being sold in the shop as well. The smell of this place alone tells you it's going to be great! There's a mix of chocolate and coffee that greets you from the sidewalk and pulls you in like a pie cooling on a windowsill. I was glad we ate prior to going, as I would have likely drained my bank account if I went on an empty stomach! We ordered a variety of items, and they were neatly wrapped individually, in one box. The milk chocolate was my favorite, and although I'm not usually a fan of white chocolate, I'd gladly eat it again! The raspberry truffle was one of the best I've had. You may notice it's not in my picture - only because I could not resist waiting. Everything was delicious and kept nicely for a day or two. I went in and was kindly greeted by the two young men working there. So nice and immediately made me want to spend my money there. There was a huge selection of goodies to choose from, but since I was specifically looking for fudge, I skipped over the other stuff. I got a 1/4 lb of the maple walnut and it was quite good, although a little on the dry side and not as creamy as other fudge I've had. I also got a praline to have that night for dessert and it was perfect! Someone said in another review that they found their prices high, but they were right in line with Kilwin's. In fact, there was another store we visited first that had some yummy looking sweet with salted caramel and pretzels, but it was $41.95 a pound! read more

They have the best fudge in town. On one of our trips they were closed so we tried a different fudge shop and there was no comparison. We were so disappointed that they were closed because this is one of our first stops when we are in the area. They happily give you samples and there are so many great options. If you like sweets then you're going to love this place! This specialty food store is located across the main plaza. As soon as you go into the store a delicious baking aroma filled me. They make specialty sweets such as fudge, pecan brittle, peanut brittle, chocolates, cookies and more. I tried a piece of the peppermint fudge and liked it. My friend and I were on a hiking trip to North Georgia and we were given a recommendation to eat in Dahlonega for lunch. While on our way there we saw the fudge factory and had to stop and try some. The shop was cute and clean. The employees were really friendly and have us great recommendations on what flavors were the best. They make the fudge fresh, in house daily. They also had hot cashews, almonds and pecans if fudge isn't your thing but you want a sweet treat. I tried dark chocolate, chocolate cheesecake, and peanut butter. I'm not a big fan of cheesecake, but I was pleasantly surprised because the cheesecake flavor was actually my favorite with peanut butter being a very close second! The fudge is smooth, creamy and flavorful. If I'm in the area again I will definitely stop by for some delicious, local fudge! read more

Another 5* review. The staff's service was excellent, something hard to find these days. Their selection was pretty original, I had never tried pecan brittle before and it was excellent. My kids got the chocolate and M&M covered pretzels. I got the S'more treat. We also bought brittle and fudge. I'll definitely buy again next time I'm in town. read more

I like it!! I actually didn't step one foot inside the Fudge Factory, and instead was given a couple of bars of their fudge as a Christmas gift. The two blocks that I was gifted were the solid fudge and fudge with walnuts. The solid block was very rich and almost needed a knife to cut it. I really enjoyed the flavor of the solid block the most, The Fudge with walnuts had a nice crunch to them, and the flavor was also really good, although not as rich I don't think as the solid block of fudge. I'll have to update my review if/whenever I pay the Fudge Factory a visit so that I can talk about prices, customer service, location, etc, What I can say is it makes for a GREAT gift, especially being on the receiving end of some! read more

This is a nice fudge shop, clean and offered a lot of choices but $18.95 a pound for plain fudge I thought was total through the roof. There wasn't anything in this shop a family with children could reasonably afford. Come on folks, this isn't at all neccessary. You get plenty of business without people feeling compelled to turn and walk out of your doors because of your prices. I watched two families do this. The Factory has an excellent location downtown right across from the museum and the visitor center. Grab some fudge and walk around town looking at all the shops. It always seems packed in here. But the service is great and they are glad to give you samples galore. And I might add that they are generous with their samples. They also don't mind selling you any size of fudge you want. For example, I didn't want the full 1/4 pound tranche and they were just fine with selling me a smaller portion. Coolio. My favorite flavor was the butter brittle fudge. Yum! Its like butter pecan with a brittle on the bottom and it is sooooooo delish! But I wasn't a fan of any of the chocolate fudge. That's crazy speak. If you are a fudge house the chocolate has to be divine. I'll just have to continue my search for the best chocolate fudge elsewhere. Nice spot, though. read more

This isn't just a clever name, they have all the fudge you can imagine. My son got a hunk of the dark chocolate and said it was delicious and didn't "make him feel gross like when you eat too much sugar" (he was 15). One thing that put me off from getting anything and the reason for 3 stars is there was a funky smell in the store and not the rich chocolate smell you would expect. Maybe a batch had burned or I was just sensitive to smells that day because the store is spotless. Anyway, hit the store and grab a piece of fudge to celebrate your day in the mountains. read more

They've got good fudge I just wish they didn't think so much of it. Time was I could get a whole bucket of chicken for what a pound of fudge cost here. Some say it's worth it and I can see where they are coming from. But I make right fair fudge and if I've got $4 in a whole batch if it it's rare. This place is amazing. I spent way to much money here and did not think twice about it. The Fudge Factory has so much to choose from throughout the store. I am a huge sucker for mint and bought some delicious mint-flavored fudge. My more intriguing purchase was the pumpkin pie fudge. Awesome! I tried to not be a giant pig and just eat all of it out of the bag as we exited. I succeeded, but it was tough. I would say that my purchases made it almost three days. How's that for self-restraint? My wife went to North Georgia College and brought me to Dahlonega to see the sights. I had a great time as we hit the gold museum, shops, and several wineries. My fudge experience rivals many of the wonderful attractions in the area. It is really good. Make sure to hit the Fudge Factory when you are in Dahlonega. They will let you sample the fudge and make sure that you take away an amazing souvenir (that you will probably consume before you get home). read more

EXPENSIVE BUT DELICIOUS! Normally, I would not look twice at a store with fudge in the name because I don't like fudge and I don't even like looking at fudge. However, as someone exited this shop, I recall asking if the shop carried more than just fudge. After being told yes they did, I decided to check it out for myself. The shop was busy and understaffed. One customer was purchasing quite a few items and talking incessantly so we just decided to step outside for a few minutes. After re-entering the shop, we realized that the customer had left and more help was available. I decided to try the turtles, although turtles are normally too rich for me, these were the only items of interest so I chose 2 pecan and 2 cashew turtles, ($7 total). I knew that my husband would eat them if they proved to be too sweet and rich. Sorry Daddy not today! These bites were incredible and unlike any other fine chocolates that I have had. The caramel was very soft and just melted in my mouth with a rich taste of smooth brown butter. They were absolutely and definitely worth the money paid. On the other hand, they are dangerous because you just can't stop eating them. They never even made it to the car! Oh yeah, I will definitely be back for more! Highly recommended! read more

We had to stop by the Fudge Factory in Dahlonega on our day trip, and were we glad we did. Like previous reviews, the shop was clean and a perfect representation of the "old fashioned candy store" you only read about now. The person that waited on us was very friendly and helpful, and we had to try some of their Pecan Brittle as well as fudge. My husband loves their pecan brittle! He had to order it from California, and the person to whom he spoke wasn't sure about their shipping policy, but they took a # and promised to call him back with an answer. Can you believe they did? And it was during holiday time too! Rarely do you receive a call back from a business answering your question! You can believe we'll be back this spring to enjoy some more of their sweet treats! read more

We had gone to helen a day prior, and the fudge was horrible. so hard i couldnt eat it. so we stopped in here during our visit, and was so happy to have good service and good fudge. it was AMAZING. i had chocolate PB and maple. I came back in the fall and tried the Pumpkin Pie fudge - i think my mouth had a food gasm. OMG. GET IT. And the tiger fudge....just. do it. I LOVE this place.
