Our basket of fries came in a cheese sauce, when we asked for melted shredded cheese instead (when we ordered) they brought us a mixture of shredded cheese and cheese sauce. I love the atmosphere of the Galaxy Restaurant. I think it's fun and smart that they have a bar-like section as well as a more high end feeling restaurant. I've been in about 4 times, and the service has always been exceptional as well. We don't frequent here, however, because the prices are quite high for the quality/amount of food you get. Since we had never been here before when I pulled into Galaxy's parking lot I decided to do a quick check on Yelp and saw the reviews were not great but we figured - we're here, how bad can it be? I've driven past this place for years and years and have never stopped in, this time I should have kept driving past! I really should have saved my $107 for 5 and picked up takeout from Wendy's... the food and service would ahve been SO MUCH BETTER! We arrived at 7:15 and by 7:20 we ordered 5 beers and 5 sandwiches, beers came in 10mins, but our food arrived @8:10 (50min later - c'mon almost an hour??!!). There were 2 other tables of 6 folks each and a table of 2, our food arrived after the one table of 6 that sat down 10min beind us. Philly steak sandwiches were good. The Galaxy burgers were a small and frozen and the chips that came with the $11 burger was right out of a Lays chip bag. The 'special' of the month burger was the $12.95 St. Patty Melt, which came with a small frozen patty and 2 little pieces of grissled corn beef and less than a tablespoon of kraut (had to ask for the dressing that was supposed to come with it) and paid an extra $3.50 for a baked potato. The chicken fingers were mostly breading and very little chicken, worse than KFC. I had a flight of 3 beers and asked specifically if she could bring out the Nitro Irish Stoudt before it settles and goes flat, she said "sure!"... it arrived flat, and I asked her about it - she said "oh, sorry" and walked away. Never again, life is too short for these type of aweful overpriced restaurants that are serving crappy unedible food. One of our favorite lunch spots at work. Great food and the daily specials make each trip a new experience. Good fish tends to be hard to come by here in Wadsworth (other than our excellent sushi place down the road). Order fish at an Apple Bees or other large chain restaurant and you know what i mean. The Galaxy has some of the freshest and best cooked fish. You can tell there is a real chef back there cooking your food. Not some one pulling something frozen out of a box and re-heating it. I had one disappointment when some one in the kitchen used sugar in the mashed potatoes instead of salt They were embarrassed and they quickly fixed it and made it right. I went there to see the Island Doctor at 1800 (He started at 1800 and dude is legit) and put in my name because I knew there would be a wait. I waited 20 minutes at the (busy) bar before I even got a beer menu. I made an order and based on the 40 minute table wait time I waited before telling my wife, mother in law and two kids to come. They arrived and still no tables were available, okay no problem. We decided to go inside and we were told we would be able to have a table. We cancelled our place in line, went inside and two minutes (not even) later the bar hostess said, "they had seats, but don't anymore." Literally the two minutes (at most to go from outside to inside). She directed us to the main restaurant. We went there and despite only one table seated that we could see, we were told it'd take 10-15 minutes to seat us. We asked why and were told because they had only one server. Ultimately, my wife, two children and mother in law left. I told them I'd order. Of course, outside at the bar, despite waiting there for ten minutes, did not even see if I needed anything at all I went inside to the bar where seats were open and was told I actually can't sit there (despite open seats) because staff needed the room. I moved. I ordered a buffalo chicken wrap, chicken tenders and a chicken bowl to go. One hour later it came. Not to go. Ultimately my bowl had literally three slices of grilled chicken, maybe 3 ounces. I didn't see this till I got home and added carnitas I made from two days before. This is a PATHETIC attempt at service for the sake of their businesses. My family, nor the 15-25 other people I acquaint with won't either. We even have been keeping tabs. The first time, great experience, the second bad, the third was good, fourth and fifth bad, sixth was mediocre at best, this was abysmal. I'm tired of wasting my money (100 each time) at a place with sub par service. BTW, it's not the servers fault. They had 1 bar tender outside and 1 inside. They were HUSTLING. What a joke Galaxy has become. Support your staff and support your patrons or they will leave like me and all my family. read more

Very good meal with friends in the wine room. Service was great and would have been 5 stars except my wife ordered tempura shrimp and it was not. We have had tempura many times but this was shrimp in a spicy sauce and in no way tempura. The menu does say served with spicy sauce but usually that means on the side not swimming in. Whenever I am in town, I eat at Galaxy at least once. Their steakhouse is great, but for more casual dining, their patio is where it is at when the weather is nice. Good classics satisfy any craving, but I do feel like they are dropping the ball on their fries, which is a shame. They were quite soft and not very tasty. Service is always nice, though when it gets busy, it takes a little more time to get the "how is everything" check up, but not a bad thing. Always a favorite. read more

I was in the area for one night at a Holiday Inn picked in the blind based on location to a business I had a meeting with in the morning. Asked at the hotel desk about places to eat dinner and was put on to The Galaxy. So, let me cut to the chase. Got one of the better steaks I have ever had. While the wedge wasn't the standard option it was welcomed with out and fuss or up charge from from bartender/waitress which is always a nice surprise when the restaurant doesn't try to nickel and dime the customer! There are several different areas to dine in this restaurant. A "sports bar" that is dimly lit and always busy, and pretty noisy. A small higher end area to have a decent meal. Then a larger higher end area that has the most amazing beer cheese dip. The outdoor area is really fun. read more

I can't believe how much they have gone downhill. We used to love to go there but they have downsized their portions and food quality. We had a rib dinner a few weeks ago and split it. They gave each of us about a tablespoon of coleslaw and about 4 ounces of mashed potatoes!! Potatoes and Cole slaw are cheap. Good food, great selection of wine, nice decor, service is mediocre at best. I've been to The Galaxy Restaurant a dozen or more times over several years. I've been there for meetings/conferences, for business meals and for date night. My experiences with the conference rooms and private room meetings/meals have been pretty good. I don't know the cost per person but the food is good and the service seems fine. For business meals (seated in the main dining room), the service has been OK and the menu has been good with something for everyone. Date night the service has been spotty and the food has been less consistent. I will go here if I'm looking for a non-chain restaurant in this area, as there isn't much competition in Wadsworth. I would not travel from Akron to eat here. The good: WINE SELECTION Thursday nights it's retail night, great list of wines at a good price. Menu is good, above average. Decor is new/nice Bright and spotless bathrooms (hey, this is important!) The Bad: The staff can seem uninterested or not focused on the customer. I generally have the feeling that something else is going on that's more important to them. Either a bigger group event, or a VIP guest or maybe it's internal drama? Just OK. It's been a year or more since my wife and I have been to the Galaxy and now I remember why. While the service is good, the food is mediocre at best. After waiting 30 minutes for a patty melt and veggie burger, my patty melt was unseasoned with about two sautéed onions on it. Not a patty melt in my book and had to ask for more. On my wife's veggie burger, she had two slivers of avocado. One drink, one beer, and dinner for two was $45. I could have done a much better job at home for a fraction of the price. This is my favorite go to spot for Sunday Brunch. If you like to feast, this is the place for you. There are several sections in this restaurant. A sports bar on one side and a Elegant dining area on the other side. We have been here for dinner once as well with family and the steak was very delicious here and well prepared. I have never had a bad dining experience at this Restuarant and the servers are very helpful with nice attitudes which makes a great dining experience. I'm not very familiar with the Wadsworth area, and I was planning a batchelorette party. The Galaxy staff were awesome in helping me find the best dining options for our group. We arranged to have the cellar room-- a private space. The only requirement is a $500 minimum food fee. We were able to develop a customized menu with all of the batchelorette's favorite foods (but would also help us hit our minimum $$$). The manager checked in on a regular basis to ensure that everything was going well. He arranged for us to have our own music selections, decorations. We were in the Cellar room from 6:30-10pm. I couldn't have asked for a better facility. The food was good and the wine list was amazing. If you're planning an event in the Wadsworth/Akron area-- go with the Galaxy. read more

My friend and I decided to go here for our birthdays. I had the strip steak and mashed potatoes and a side salad with blue cheese. The flavor and temperature of the steak was a perfect medium. I think the blue cheese dressing was house made and was fantastic! Our server's name was Rainbow. She was attentive and made great suggestions.
