The best brunch experience in recent memory. Food stations are all fresh and hot and the overall quality was quite good. Our server, Terri was quite possibly the most professional and knowledgeable Food Service person we've ever encountered. Her timing was impeccable and she even offered a demonstration on shelling crab legs that even I, as a seasoned crab aficionado, learned quite a bit. The Galaxy is a bar/restaurant establishment. I have eaten here many times and each time I wonder why I come back. The food is always disappointing. I dare you to order a steak. Double dare you! Unfortunately, it is not just the steak that is bad. About anything with meat will guarantee you one of those little chewy pieces that we all hate to bite into. It is hard to believe they are big into catering weddings and business functions with the food they serve. Prices are descent. Food aside-It is a great bar. The atmosphere is great and they decor is true to it's name, complete with a mural of the night sky on the ceiling. There is an outside patio that is great in the warmer months. The Galaxy in Wadsworth is an upscale restaurant paired with a casual-dining bar & outdoor restaurant and a wine room. It's the best food anywhere between Norton/Barberton and north to Fairlawn. They know how to cook fish, their wine selection is huge and varied, and their relatively small dessert menu is nonetheless remarkable for its taste and presentation as well as for the fact that desserts are prepared on site. Quiet ambience in the wine room especially, but also in the dining rooms. Want noisy? Go to the bar -- but you'll get a different menu with unremarkable food. You can dress up to dine at the Galaxy or go upscale-casual and be at home. (In the bar, dress however you please.) The waiters like a conversation about good wines. read more

Iv'e been here several times now and always find the food quality high. The calamari is delicious and the burgers are tasty. Yes it is pricey, but no more so than any downtown venue. The Sunday brunch is fantastic, a real throw back. Not sure why all the negativity here, simply one of the better places in the area. read more

3.5 Stars. This review is for the steakhouse portion of the restaurant. The decor and ambiance here is nice - it has a nice warm feel and the dining room is circular and multileveled. The bar area (which they call the wine room) is also really nice and I could see myself enjoying a beverage here comfortably. I was able to try several items on the menu and some where good and others where not so good. The calamari app with tasty, it was lightly breaded, cooked properly and had a nice chili garlic sauce with it. It was a good portion too. The crab cake app was probably the best thing I had here - tons of crab, good veg filler, and it was accompanied with like a herb salad which was also delicious. I also got the lobster bisque to start - and it was one of the more disappointing things I tried. The amount of lobster was comical and it did not have the lobster bisque consistency that you are used to. It was more like a "lobster" light chowder. I won't get it again. For dinner I tried one of the pork chop specials for the evening. It was rubbed with a Cajun-like seasoning and came with a creamed corn chowder side. The pork chop was well portioned and perfectly cooked. The seasoning was decent and you could also tell they used a good cut of meat. The corn side I did not like much at all - it tasted like just cream and corn. I also tried the diablo shrimp pasta as well as a couple other dishes. I won't go into detail on all of them, but let me say that the diablo shrimp pasta was not good at all. No flavor and the extremely light sauce just sat at the bottom. A couple other things that bothered my about this place is the service and the prices. The service was really slow and upon completing our cocktails we were not even asked if we wanted a second. Sub par service at what I would classify as a fine steakhouse should not happen. Also, if you do qualify this as a fine steakhouse then the prices are probably average. But to compare this place to a quality (even a chain) steakhouse it just not match up. So, that being said, I thought the food was overpriced. Maybe its an identity issue...either lower the prices and be that new american restaurant or do a better job with the food and be that fine steakhouse. read more

Came in at 3:50 on a Saturday to watch football, found drink and meal menu on the table with prices good until 4 pm. Sat and waited at our table for service for 10 mins while wait staff walked around ignoring us...until 4:04. Asked if we could still get drink or food specials and where told "no". My husband surprised me on our anniversary with reservations to this wonderful restaurant. We had a starry night theme on our wedding, so Galaxy restaurant seemed a perfect place to eat for our anniversary. If you drive up to it it doesn't look like anything special, but the interior design is nice and the food is amazing. We may have eaten what is seriously the best meal we have ever eaten in our lives. We ate in the main dining room and ordered the fruit and cheese plate appetizer to start which was truly excellent. It set the tone and has truly ruined me for any fruit and cheese plate at any establishment in the future. Then I got the Sherry Lobster Bisque which was excellent and my husband ordered the seasonal salad selection which was also excellent. For our main dishes, my husband ordered the sirloin which was delicious and I ordered the Shrimp Diablo which was excellent, spicy, tender jumbo shrimp and linguine. For dessert my husband ordered the creme brulee and I ordered the mixed berry gelato. Both excellent. It is a nice restaurant, so an evening out with all the trimmings will run you a reasonable amount of money, but we have spent far more on meals nowhere near as excellent as the one we enjoyed last night. First of all, we wanted a quiet table. They sat us on the wine room, which we didn't want. The server was unprepared. He forgot so many things. My salmon was good, but my husband's dish was swimming in butter. He never offered us dessert or coffee. Just left the check on the table. It was a nice night so we thought we'd pop in here for a coffee and a dessert on the patio. We walked in everything looked nice then we ran into the wall of cigarette smoke on the patio. That's right it was so strong even being outdoors did nothing to help it. Seriously what year is this 1988? Isn't here a law about smoking close to a building? First off the service was really bad. Our server kept us waiting for almost 20 minutes just to take an order. When we did order and the food came out my wife's burger was completely raw. Again almost 15 minutes for the server to come back so we could show her. My food on the other hand was very over cooked. Once we got my wife's burger back we didn't see the server for almost half an hour. It took almost an hour and a half just for a lunch date. We went to the Galaxy Saturday evening to watch the Browns' pre-season game and have dinner. We sat in a booth in the sports bar - the patio was PACKED (we were offered a seat on the patio but we don't like to eat outside.) Although there was a TV in our booth it didn't swivel so our heads would have been at an awkward angle all evening trying to watch the game. Sadly the TVs over the bar that are centrally located are too small to see from the booths. There was also a decorative lamp post that was unfortunately placed in front of the large screen TV that we were trying to watch. The TV placement mixed with the rather tall busboy (also interested in the game) that stood directly in front of said TV while S L O W L Y bussing a table, and rearranging (?) the condiments, and watching the quarterback battle ("you make a better door than a window") made us a little perplexed. In other words, this sports bar is not a good place to watch a game. The restaurant was hot the evening we ate there. I don't know if it was because of the door to the patio being used all evening but it was HOT - we don't enjoy eating while sweating and were rather uncomfortable. My better-half ordered the stuffed sole and I ordered the prime rib. I was promptly informed that they were out of prime rib. Seriously?? The restaurant only serves prime rib on Wednesdays and Saturdays after 5 PM... we were there at 7:30 PM on a Saturday! What happened???? I ended up ordering the chicken picatta. My boyfriend didn't care for the sweet/sour sauce on his fish so we switched entrees (I loved both entrees!) Our waitress was sweet but the service was notably slow. I attribute this to the popularity of the patio the night we visited. We ordered the Lemon Cream Horns for dessert (of which I embarassingly inhaled three-quarters). Delicious! The wine list is good, the portions are small for the price (but we were satiated without being overly full), the temperature of the restaurant was humid and uncomfortable, and the lolly-gagging TV-watching under-age busboy was annoying. Although I've eaten here often and normally love it here - Saturday night was not up to par. It's hit it or miss with this one. read more

Sadly, displeased. We've tried the Sports bar at the Galaxy probably 5-7 times in the last four years. Positives: not a chain restaurant in Wadsworth area, lots of TVs, decent draft beer selection and lovely patio in summer time. Negatives: we've never had great service, and the food is less than satisfactory everytime. On our latest visit, my chicken sandwich was rubbery fake-like chicken- and rock hard fries. Our spinach dip was cold. We had them reheat the dip, it was ok. I took one bite of my chicken sandwich and the server never asked me if our meals were okay. Simple things like how to split our checks and asking if we wanted another drink were out of our servers league to do. We keep saying we will never go back, and this last visit I hope will truly be my last, unless I'm just grabbing a cocktail on the patio in the summer. I'll never eat here again. read more

This is one of my favorite places to go to for great food and the atmosphere is a lot of fun especially in the sports bar. We always ask for Jennfer L, one of the best waitresses we have had. She is always willing to go the extra step to accommodate us as well as remembering our favorite drinks and appetizers. Rachel is an amazing bartender who can fix really great martinis as well as specialty drinks. She always has a smile and a great attitude like Jennifer L. The Wine Room is another favorite. Ken the manager really makes us feel welcome and is very knowledgeable about wine and what food to pair it with. Melinda the bartender is one of our favorites, always smiling and really makes great margaritas. It always nice to see these two working because you know you will have a great time. read more

We viewed their party room for our Christmas party but chose the Cuyahoga Falls Sheraton instead. A lot better decor and honestly a step above in food, service, and selections. I ordered the sirloin steak. The menu indicated it was $19. The waitress asked me which two sides I would like and I responded a side salad and the wild rice. The waitress asked if I would like the house salad or Caesar salad. I asked for the Caesar salad. When the bill came, the meal was charged at 24.99 not including the drink. I asked the manager about it and he informed me after the fact that the ceasar salad was an up charge and would not modify the bill. The steak was also flavorless. read more

Lunch today was a hit/miss event. I ordered the peach daiquiri ($6.25), which was delicious! I ordered the chicken stir-fry, which was one of their specials ($7.99) It was very salt, possibly because of too much soy sauce. It was served around a bed of rice that was very sticky...by the time I finished half of my meal, I couldn't even get the remainder of the rice apart. My friend enjoyed the Reuben sandwich, but the waitress forgot her coffee, but the waitress didn't mention it until she brought our bill. read more

I have been here before and never had an issue until the other day. I ordered a salad and there was a wadded up brown paper towel slightly hidden under the lettuce. It was also tossed with the salad because it had dressing all over it. I don't know how you could miss that. The salad also tasted sour. I took my grandma and my boyfriend out to eat as a present. The salad was taken off my bill, I did not want a replacement towel salad. I left a tip for the server still because it wasn't his fault. I will definitely never eat here again. Here's a snapshot of my full review that I made: For the handful of 'relaxing on a patio' months that we have here in Northeast Ohio, you should make your way down to the Galaxy. Drink, eat, and be merry in the sun or shade - just the fact that there is large outdoor eating area should keep you coming back here. The honest sandwiches, decent draft beers and occasional live music are bonuses. Overall, I want to go back to the Galaxy and enjoy the outdoors. Sure, I have a patio at home, but it's always more fun with people around and someone serving you a drink instead of having to get up and get one. Plus, I don't have a waterfall at home. I'm also very keen on trying out their Wine Room - their website mentions that they do flights...that's always a good time. I recommend going to the Galaxy and just having fun outside this summer.
