Basically all their burgers are stuffed. The only problem is they don't seem to grill the burgers long enough to melt the cheese or meat that's inside of said burger. This is extremely important... We love our burgers in the Midwest. Beef, bread, cheese, any of these things we will gladly cape-up and defend at a moment's notice. The coasts just don't understand them the way that we do. To this day I firmly and truly believe that. And so I am not surprised that there are places like the Garage serving up delicious meat slabs stuffed with cheese on toasted buns that you could easily drive right on by without even noticing at all. Let's talk about it. My family lives in Kenosha. So I have heard tales of local dives that I absolutely must check out. Most of them are simply meh. But not The Garage. The first thing that I noticed about this spot is that they have beer. Lots, and lots of beer. Local, craft, commercial, there is truly something for everyone. I have asked the wait staff for suggestions based on a couple of different preferences and each time they have delivered exactly what I am looking for. It is quite impressive. The food is also really, really good. For some reason everyone in the Midwest now defaults their burgers and steaks to medium-well. Which seems super weird to me. But whatever, we will make sure ours never comes to the table a sniff of well. I usually order the regular patty stuffed with cheddar and topped with bacon and onions, medium-rare. And I have to say, it is not the best burger that I have ever had. I am not entirely sure it is even in the top 10. But it is absolutely dripping with flavor. And grease. While it is a fantastic bite, I will say the one list of mine it undoubtedly does top is greasiest burger I have ever had. Make sure that you get a lot of extra napkins. You're gonna need it! Overall I think that The Garage is my favorite joint to check out when I visit the fam. The staff are great, the food is delicious, and the beer is absolutely fantastic. If you're looking for an affordable, tasty, and filling meal in the area, I think that you would be hard pressed to top this spot. Check it out! read more

Oh I love a good cheeseburger, and my fellow yelppers never disappoint. I drove there thinking where in the heck are we going, as it felt like a scene from the walking dead set where everything was abandoned and the city was taken over by zombies. Ok so into the Garage, forget driving to Minnesota for a Juicy Lucy, they make them here and The Garage version is better! We got a Hawaiian Burger and holy Maui it was awesome. First timers... Found on Yelp, figured we'd ck it out for a casual drink and nosh. A little, indiscreet place with, what looked like, mostly "locals", (because many knew eachother) with some bar and narrow bar-height stool seating, brings you up-close-and-personal with other patrons. Loud music, a few TVs showing Brewers and MMF along with some wall kitch, gives the visitor lots of stimulation. Ordered a stuffed burger with the jalapenos and pulled pork, topped with an egg... it was really good, and tasty. I would definitely order that again. The home fries were somewhat disappointing. It looked as if I got the bottom of the barrel. Also ordered one of the fried appetizers that included three different sauces to dip in. Call this one above average. Everything I had here was really good. I got my burger as a mash bowl which is basically no bun. I built my own with bacon and cheese inside the burger and some BBQ sauce to go with. The burger was very juicy and the seasoning was really good. I didn't feel like I even needed the sauce. I had sweet potato fries as my side. Also good and a large serving of them. I have wanted to eat here for over a year and was excited to finally stop in for lunch. I was disappointed. 1. My burger was raw, not rare but raw. When they cook it again they forgot the toppings and the cheese stuffing melted out. 2.The "seasoned" fries have only salt on them like normal fries, no seasoning. 3.The beer selection is minimal and the don't tell you they have other cans of beer behind the bar. The waitress was nice but the experience was bad. For a similar menu you are better off at Grabs or Captain Mike's. read more

We used to love this place and I really hate to write a poor review but maybe it can help the management improve the service. We have ordered lunch for our office many times and been very happy. The last two lunches left a bit to be desired, mostly in the customer service provided by female bartender. She comes across as unfriendly and uncaring about what she is serving. The food we had was good, except for the two orders that were incorrect. Two paid for garlic fries but received regular, and another paid $2.50 for bacon to be added to sandwich and there was none. I came here with the friends who drive Fiats because we took a drive to the Mars Cheese Castle. The staff were very accommodating for our group of 15 people. They had menu where you can either choose a burger or build your own burger. The food was very good and came out pretty fast - for having one guy who made all the burgers. I really like the food in this place. The service is good. But it is extremely annoying to come here for a few reasons: 1. Cash only - how do you not have a Square at least? This is a part of a larger restaurant group so it's not as though they don't have a POS contract to leverage. 2. Their burger of the week is listed on 1 sign in the back, or Facebook. Easier to get this information at Captain Mike's, Grab's, or Kuma's. 3. They have an extensive selection of bottled beer but no listing of this, you just have to look in the fridge behind the bar and research on the internet I guess. This is unlike their sibling restaurants or Waterfront Warehouse which list everything available with details and have larger selections. 4. They have a tap list, but only 7 (not bad in of itself), and in today's visit there are 2 macros, a 10% ABV cinnamon toast beer, an 8% ABV Baltic porter, and 3 IPA's all over 70 IBU's. None of it is local and none of it sessionable aside from the macro... No Spotted Cow or Riverwestein or K-Town Brown. This is a burger place, there should be some kind of an amber or anything more accessible and craft. 5. It's supposed to be Kenosha Restaurant Week and they are a part of it but there is literally nothing here indicating that and it was never mentioned. So yeah, this place could easily be 4 stars if they just made it easier to understand what's available and took credit cards. read more

This is setup as a perfect dive bar/restaurant. Let's first start off it is for all ages and good family place. They did a great job of setting up as a car and mechanic theme. from the decor to the named burgers it down to great detail. The apps are great, I highly recommend the poutine, they dont go far from being in the state of Wisconsin with cheese curds to top. Had Greasy Garage burger. I would rate it a 3.87 effort. Burger was cooked correctly...medium. Roll was nice and not too thick or doughy. Stuffed burgers with Swiss cheese are alright but not my cup of tea. Said it had mushrooms but the forest must have been picked over because there was only a scent of mushrooms in the burger. Grilled onions were perfectly prepared making up for the bacon which may have been Farmland economy brand. My advice...skip the stuffed stuff and do the Greasy with cheese on top and tell 'em to upgrade the bacon. Helpful staff. Ok place. read more

Not as good as the first time I came. Or the second time. Got the poutine again and it was good but not as much gravy and too many skins without potato attached. Now for the disappointing burger. Definitely way less than medium. Not just pink but bright reddish pink and super moist as if it were raw uncooked ground beef. I brought it to my server, Lexi's, attention when she brought the bill. She just explained it away as their burgers are usually very pink. I explained the difference. She said well you ate the other half, didn't you?? I hate when people do things like this to me. The burger was a little on the small side (it didn't come anywhere close to filling the bun with the first side being particularly small) and I'd cut it in half and I guess some was cooked through more than the rest so I didn't notice on that small half. Then I TRIED to eat the rest but just couldn't go past the more cooked portion of the second half. So yes, Matilda, I DID eat part of it. (And you never checked on me other than bringing the bill FOR me TO be able to tell you sooner. Other people brought both the poutine and then later the burger. No one checked if I wanted more water or anything else afterwards. Let alone if the burger was ok. In fact, I feel my stomach reacting to undercooked meat now. Ugh.) So no, I don't want a box. Then she just threw me a quick sorry and scurried away as quickly as possible. I mean, I didn't want the whole burger comped but it would have been nice to be offered a small percentage discount. Pretty decent bar food here. The house burgers all looked good & you can create whatever you want. The bartender/waitress was friendly & we didn't have to wait very long for our food. They have some unique beers on tap so you don't have to stick with the typical watered down stuff. The food is a little on the pricier side i.e. $10 burgers (fries are an upcharge) but again it's solid bar food. Only let down was they swapped out the stuffed burger patties my wife & I ordered... I cut down into mine that had a fried egg on top so there was yoke everywhere. She's not a fried egg eater, so swapping patties back wasn't an option. Pretty big bummer... They discounted the check $2.70 for the mixup, so at least they did something. Would've been nice to have it the way out was supposed to be. However that wasn't meant to be... This place is small but seriously worth the trip. Locals know and love it. Coming from Chicago, wasn't sure what to expect. The "Fully Automatic Car Wash", came with a burger (duh) stuffed with Wisconsin white cheddar curds and bacon, topped with American cheese, onion tangled and sriracha ranch. Soooooo good!!!!! We were told that we would have to all sit at the one two top if anyone else came in to eat.
