Our son's Ram 2500 diesel was having transmission problems and we took it to Empire Automotive on a Thursday for diagnostics. Chris called me the next morning to let me know the transmission was in fact toast and would need replacement. However, he had good news for us. He saw a warranty sticker on the transmission and called the company and found out the transmission was still under warranty. The transmission company sent out a replacement transmission free of charge and helped cover the cost of the installation. Chris installed the new transmission and made sure it was all dialed in by the following Wednesday. I was only charged for the diagnostic and installation of the transmission, which was very reasonably priced and I will get reimbursed for a big chunk of it from the transmission company to boot. I appreciate their honesty and integrity with their customers, and I never felt like they were trying to pad their profits. Just good folks looking out for their customers. They could have just as easily ignored the sticker, like I'm sure occurs more than we know at other garages, and charged us for a transmission as well, since we had no idea the transmission had a warranty when we bought it. They have certainly won my trust and I will not hesitate to take my vehicles there going forward. The entire staff is friendly, honest, and knowledgeable and their turn around time was much quicker than expected. Based on my experience, I absolutely recommend them to anybody!

I am super particular when it comes to my vehicles (make that "obsessive") and always want the best for them when it comes to service and how they are cared for. Empire was very accommodating with my desire to use my preferred fluids of choice (Amsoil) and provide them myself. Chris was also very helpful in getting my vehicle in and out in a timely manner and it was ready right when he said it would be. Everyone in their office was so nice and pleasant to deal with (particularly Gabby) and I had such a good feeling with the entire experience even as a first time customer. I felt like my car was in very good hands and I will absolutely be coming back as a repeat customer in the future. The pricing was also incredibly reasonable for what I had done! I'm very fortunate that their shop is within about a 2 minute walk of my house, so it makes a great thing even better when you feel you have an honest and dependable "neighborhood" mechanic. It's been a few years since I've gotten tires from them and it's mainly because I don't go through tires that fast as I don't commute to Berkeley anymore. Recently Chad had come into my work and I had made a comment that I needed to contact their business to get a price quote for 4 new tires for my SUV and specifically for Michelin tires. He asked the make and model of my vehicle and within minutes of him returning back to Big O Tires I received a phone call from him with the cost for 4 new tires which included mounting, disposal of the old tires and alignment if needed. Of course, living in Petaluma an alignment was a given. He also mentioned that the tires weren't in their store but was only a day or 2 away. Two weeks later I called up to have Chad order the tires and schedule an appointment for Saturday 09/04/21 and mentioned I would drop off the vehicle the day before. A few days later I received a call that the tires were in so I decided to drop my car off on Friday the 3rd during my lunch time. Chad was out for lunch and Randy checked in the car and said he didn't see why they couldn't get the car done by the time they closed at 5:00pm but would have Chad call when he returns. He did call and confirmed that it would be done before 5:00pm. I arrived just before 5:00pm and my car was completely done and all I had to do was go in, go over the pricing, how bad the car was out of alignment (big thanks to the City of Petaluma for the alignment issues) and pay. All employees were wearing masks as well as customers entering the business establishment. Thank you Chad & Big O Tires for getting me in and out quickly and painlessly!
