The food was pretty good it always puts a bad taste in my mouth with service. We arrived and there were several tables open and they said a FIFTEEN MIN wait. I get your servers may be busy but FIFTEEN?! Also servers did not seem busy. One was eating breakfast. There were no silverware rolled. Perhaps they were short staffed but most things could be resolved with proper training. read more

I have to start by saying that this has been my hands down favorite breakfast spot in Longmont. I recommend it to everyone and take out of town visitors there. My experience today was one of the worst I have had at any restaurant. I was courteous and friendly to the staff throughout what I am going to deceive. I took my kids out to have a nice Sunday breakfast. Normally I have to wait here to be seated but we were immediately seated to my surprise. The young waiter was exceptionally friendly when he took our drink order. However. I never saw him again until he brought our coffee and one hot chocolate out 15 minutes later. He apologized for the wait to his credit. We place our order and a good 30 minutes minimum goes by. During this time we don't see our waiter once to even ask about the order. Meanwhile, I see the people who were waiting for a table after we placed our order starting to get their food. We were sitting outside and every table in our section had finished and were gone by this point so there is literally a half empty restaurant. I finally get up and ask another waitress about our order. 5 minutes later my order shows up. Chili rellanos with eggs. I ordered scrambled and it's over easy. I ask to have replaced and am told, "honestly it will take about 15-20" minutes". When you get an order wrong you don't out it back to the end of the line! Also. I just asked for a side of scambled as he said that would be quicker. My son had not received his kids pancake. That came about 5 minutes later. A pancake. After the waiter walked away I noticed the bacon side had not come with his pancake. Ate ate my rellanos which were swimming in oil. I've had this dish here before and it was drained before serving. My son finished his pancake and I couldn't eat anymore of the oil. Still no waiter with scrambled eggs or to ask for bacon. I got up and went to the coffee bar to wait for someone so I could get my bill and get the hell out of there. Only positive is another waitress said she's got the bill covered. I understand kitchens have their bad days and restaurants suffer for that, but the waiter never showing up but 3 times in an hour to check on us on top of that plus the food being an oily messs? They were only half full and didn't seem understaffed in terms of wait staff. Others seemed to get their food quickly. If the waiter bothered to show up every once in a while he could have rectified the situation earlier. Consequently I just sat there getting more and more frustrated which I never do at a restaurant. I've worked in food service and am never rude to staff but this was an utter hot mess. read more

If I could do 3.5 stars I would. I don't like be hard on restaurants but this one just didn't compete with other favorite brunch restaurants in the Denver area. Cons: we were sitting near the kitchen and they were playing separate music from the restaurant and it was really distracting and annoying. The food was just okay. I had a Benny and the Hollandaise was a little thick and didn't taste like what I'm used to. The English muffin was soggy and not great either. The decor is rustic and trendy, but it's in a strip mall so there are very few windows and it's too dark for a brunch restaurant, IMHO. Pros: they are dog friendly on the patio (although it rained when we were there so we left dog in the car). The pecan praline pancake was legit. Pretty good! And my hash browns were cooked well, but needed some salt. read more

This place is so cute both inside and out and has AMPLE patio seating. The inside is decorated like a farmhouse and is so cozy and welcoming. The staff was very nice and sat us right away. They have lots of skillet options. My mom got an omelette and I got the valley skillet which has bacon and mushrooms and lots of cheese over potatoes. This was right up my alley! There were tons of options. I can't wait to come back and try the biscuits and gravy and the pancakes! It all looked divine! Might be one of the cutest breakfast spots in Longmont! read more

Very good food and good portions. Although not directly an option on the menu I was able to get chocolate chip pancakes which I appreciated. Even on a busy Sunday we were able to get sat at a table around 15-20 minutes after going on the waitlist. read more

Came for breakfast on a Sunday morning as the Good Eats Cafe has closed. I ordered an omelet and was so disappointed. This was the flattest omelet I have ever eaten. Flatter than a pancake. I have been so spoiled by the large portions and delicious food at Good Eats Cafe that I never even imagined that a omelet could be this bad. My friend got french toast that she liked. Our waiter never came around to refill our drinks and the couple at the table behind us were listening to videos on their speaker phones. Not cool. I do not recommend if you want a hearty omelet for breakfast. read more

We liked the Garden Gate Cafe the first time we came and were excited to go back. We were seated immediately, and handed water a few minutes later but were never asked about drink orders. We sat for about 20 minutes without ever once seeing our server while the tables around us were helped. Finally I went inside to place a to-go order with the host who simply said "sorry that server is really busy" and helped me place the order. We sat to wait for our food and one server took our menus away but no one apologized. We did get our to-go orders and both were missing the toast that was supposed to come with them. Really sad to have had such a negative experience at a place that we had previously liked. read more

We will not return for our weekly Sunday breakfast. We have always enjoyed Garden Gate longmont location and it has been one of our main local restaurants. However, when 3 tables that arrived and placed names on the waiting list while we were waiting are seated before us- we stop going. We were sitting by the hostess station and heard the other tables place names and saw each table seated before us. We put our name down for outside or inside - whichever comes first and we're not a party larger or smaller than the others seated. read more

I wanted to love this place, I really did, but found it to be quite average. I think the atmosphere is supposed to be cozy and welcoming, but it was just a bit dark and overbearing on an overcast day. Didn't help that they had the back section closed and lights off so it felt even darker, I just didn't find myself wanting to sit there for a while and relax. The food was average. I had an egg scramble and hash browns (they were sadly out of home fries) and they were fine, nothing to write home about, pretty standard dishes that are hard to screw up. Someone else in our party had french toast and said it wasn't the greatest, and apparently the Nutella crepes weren't great either. The surprising hit was the brûléed oatmeal, I really enjoyed it. Despite their sign saying they have "really good coffee", I found that to not be the case which is always disappointing in a breakfast joint. Honestly I don't think I'll be back here, it wasn't bad but there are far better places to go in town for breakfast or brunch and this place is just amazingly average for the price. read more

Went in 8:45 on a Saturday in Longmont. Not terribly busy. The server was friendly but anxious, the co-worker was deeply unfriendly. I ordered the Corned Beef Hash. Absolutely terrible, canned nonsense. At the end of the meal, my partner went to talk to the manager about getting my meal comped. The manager was rude. We stopped in for breakfast before hitting the Longmont Museum's newest exhibition. Parking was super easy and upon entering, we noticed everything was spaced perfectly for social distancing, including a patio stocked with heaters. Staff were polite, prompt, and personable without being overbearing, they were all equipped with masks and extra precautions to keep themselves and us safe. We were pleasantly surprised at the lengthiness of the breakfast menu. There was something for each of our needs and wants, including plenty of gluten free options and the perfect kids menu for my picky eater. I especially enjoyed their coffee as well and the personal carafe for refills was a nice touch. We were all so pleased with our experience that we'd be happy to head here for breakfast more frequently. read more

Does anyone work here anymore? We have come in twice now and no one is there to seat us. The first time another customer was looking for someone to refill a coffee pot. He finally had to go behind the counter and serve himself. No staff was there. Today we went in, the girl behind the counter ran to the back and disappeared. We waited. A bus boy came out and ignores us. I decided to call and see if anyone came out. The phone rang and announced my name from the caller Id to the restaurant but still no one answered so we left. We used to come here regularly as we only love two minutes away but now we drive 10 minutes to le peep on Ken Pratt. At le peep we always get seated quickly and the food is excellent. read more

Stopped in here for brunch today. I love the energy and vibe at this place. Very cozy with a great patio. The service we had was top notch. I ordered the Huevos Cantina with Carnitas. The food was 5 stars and I'd give 6 stars to the young lady who was serving us. This will be a regular spot for brunch on the weekends. Then she disappeared with my incorrect omelette and never came back til 20 minutes later after I flagged her down. We confronted her and told her we were paying for the lattes only and she got mad and said we'd have to pay for my friend's dish she was going to send back but the server wasn't there for her to do it. We paid in cash and she finally understood. we departed. I will never go back there. I know it's a pandemic and there's staff shortages but that's no excuse for that kind of shoddy service. Chicken fried steak is my favorite morning breakfast meal. This one here is the best in town and is right down the street from me. You can count on me having this almost once every weekend. Yes it's a small little café and it looks busy all the time but trust me it's worth the wait. Also shout out to my server Hailey, who was working really hard on all the other customers. We've (3 of us) have eaten at the Francis St location several times and the food has been ok (egg Benedict often cold), The hostess today has earned this 1 star review and completely lost out business. We eat breakfast out every Sunday, and we always eat local, I understand it sometimes takes time to seat, but when the hostess chooses to seat 3 other parties who came in after us (2, 3, and 6 top), and given there were four 4-tops on the patio open she could have easily seated us, but we somehow were not worthy of a table. read more

Was very optimistic based on the reviews but the food was horrible - seriously the worst omelette I've ever had - ordered the Florentine and it lacked flavor, the feta cheese ruined it, store bought tomatoes didn't help. Presentation was poor. Hashbrowns were slapped together, nothing special and the toast was like truck stop toast - brushed some butter/oil on with a big brush, not covering 25%. Small dirty place in a strip mall. Oh, and ordered a mimosa and it was so bad, left half of it. Not near enough champagne. read more

Absolutely delicious and original Ricky Mountain French Toast (French toast topped with granola)! The staff is friendly and take out has been super quick. My only complaint is that they use styrofoam containers, although right now I understand that restaurants are struggling and every penny counts so I'm trying not to hold it against them too much.
