We just had lunch here, and this low rating is only because of our ill-tempered waitress. She got my order wrong, which was no problem; everybody makes mistakes. I asked for a turkey Reuben, which I've had there before, but was given roast beef. Another waiter took it back to the kitchen, the cook fixed it and came out to apologize even though it wasn't his fault, and we told him no worries. The food was good, as always. The problem was that first the waitress tried to tell us that she hadn't made a mistake, that the sandwich comes pre-prepared and they add turkey to the beef. But the correct sandwich came out while she was saying this, and she just stomped off. We had to ask another waitress for a to-go box because there was no time left to eat. Our original waitress literally threw the check on the table as she walked by without saying a word. In spite of good food and otherwise pleasant staff, this kind of behavior can spoil your whole impression of a place. Again, the mistake was not the problem; we were cool with it. I took a chance on The Garden Cafe and am I glad I did. We are staying at a nearby b&b and were meeting friends for breakfast. I recommended this place and everyone was very happy. Service was great and so was the food. I had the Heuvos Cantinas and the green chili and chorizo was killer good. Try this place for breakfast, brunch or lunch. So, i normally am very nice and give restaurant owners and staff a lot of leeway, but unsure if it was just a bad day there but - i did not have a good experience here TODAY, June 1, 2022. First, i used an app that usually gives me ZERO problems and today was the first time that the app has let me order from a restaurant that "Absolutely does not use Door Dash," as i learned over the phone and unfortunately in person. Upon entering i was not greeted with a Hello, but just an awkward stare from TWO of the female employees. I smiled and said hello, and they still just kept staring at me like I was about to be told to "Leave the Establishment." I was quickly greeted by a friendly young man who was trying to be a host of a restaurant. He tried to explain that they didn't use Door Dash and immediately a much older woman behind the counter snapped also, "We don't use any APPS." I kindly took my business elsewhere without saying another word. I wouldn't spend one dime here after being treated that way. Went there this morning to get breakfast with my family my waitress was very nice she was a brunette that was working there this morning very nice young lady but I was looking around and I happened to look towards where another waitress was at and she looks at me and says what's up and I said nothing and she's like oh I thought you said something very snooty before that I was listening to her complain about whatever happened moments ago and through the whole the whole time we're eating she is giving us dirty looks maybe she's having a bad morning but she needs to change her attitude around customers I wanted to say something to her but I held back maybe she might want to reset and get in a better mood I'm glad she was not my waitress read more

I go here often. Food is always great. Went today around noon. The food was TERRIBLE! The Veggie Skillet was supposed to have Country Potatoes. Served burned hash browns. Over easy eggs were dripping in grease. The other order was almost as bad. French Toast meal. Scrambled eggs tasted horrible. Wasted $31 today!! read more

Maybe the best breakfast spot around. Portions are huge (everyone leaves with a to-go box) and the service was quick and friendly. Also, no waiting for a bite to eat. We are outdoors and both had omelettes with coffee and toast - delicious. Also, surprisingly good people watching for a strip mall location. We'll make the drive back to try lunch. read more

I had really high hopes for this place and we drove out of our way on the trip to eat here based on reviews. Rare that I would walk out of a place, but came very close here. First off, our server was flat out rude. When we let her know about a food allergy, she interrupted to let us know she couldn't tell us about the food. We had to insist she go ask the cook for info. While we were waiting for our food, we saw a disgruntled couple at another table finally get their juice and the same time their check came (after they'd finished). I definitely enjoyed the food, an the prices were fair. But the customer service was dreadful. The hostess was not the problem at all. But the waitresses literally argued in front of me an my girlfriend over who was going to serve us. Once they hashed it out our waitress continued to have an attitude until we left. My mom and I were out for a drive and decided to try this cafe for a late lunch last week and we loved it! We sat out on the patio and felt that this place was following all the safeguards by disinfecting the tables and marking which ones were cleaned. We ordered the turkey reuben sandwich, side of fries, and blueberry fruit crepes. Wow! These exceeded our expectations. The reuben was delicious with coleslaw inside instead of sauerkraut (they also have the traditional reuben) and the crepes were heavenly! Great service and the inside restaurant looked really nice. I would never have expected such a top-notch restaurant in this little shopping center. This was such a treat. My mom couldn't wait to go back and had lunch again there this week. To be avoided. Sorry to say, because I have always like the one in Niwot. The wait was to be 10-15 minutes, but was actually 20-25. No wireless network, so I couldn't even use the time for anything as I had planned. I had my food approximately 55 minutes after I walked in the door. And it was just ok. The sausage and eggs had obviously been sitting a bit, they were just warm, and the sausage was a common store-bought type. The pancakes were fine. Balancing price, value, wait time and food quality, there is no way I would go back. Taking away extra points for the dirty floor and general disorganization. We have twice tried coming here and they were closed. Now I call ahead (30 minute drive). Today we came and there was a sign saying they are short staffed. I get it, lots of places are but it was pathetic today. 3 times I checked our name on the list, then people that came in way after we did started going in. They had marked off our names and claimed they had called us in. I told them, no you didn't we were right next to the door outside. So then she says okay you are next. We just tried this place for the first time. Party of 5 at lunch time. The pancake was like rubber, the 2 poached eggs were each cooked to different doneness, the fries were greasy, lukewarm and cold and mushy inside, the Rocky Mountain French toast was not battered with granola - it was plain French toast with a trail of granola sprinkled across it after cooking. I'd gone to the one in Niwot off and on for years and always enjoyed the food there. It is nice to have one close to home now, and I've been 6 or 7 times already. The breakfast and lunch entrees are very good. It is pricey for breakfast and the other only criticism is the I'm not crazy about the coffee they serve.. I'm a coffee snob, but the service is always very friendly and fast. It's nice to have more choices in little ol' Longmont. We're moving up in the world. :) read more

I've been in twice, our first visit I wasn't very impressed. They were still trying to get the service aspect figured out and it took a long time for us to get our food and our card back after we paid. The food was okay, I was disappointed because my significant other and I ordered the same thing but I only received 1/3 of the amount of hash browns he did. It seemed as if he got the section of hash browns they had cooked and they dumped whatever was left in the pan on my plate- I wish I had taken a picture. Recently I decided to try it again with a few friends, this time the experience was more pleasant. The food was good and the portions were equal. I was really hoping that this would be a good spot in Longmont for breakfast. Had a terrible experience there today. The service was disorganized. Sat on patio, people sat after us got service before us. No big deal, but after waiting and seeing the server visit the other patio tables a few times but ignoring ours, and not even getting a drink order in, I had to go ask the staff for someone to visit our table. Ordered a mocha and got basically a glass of milk, didn't even drink it. It was gross, I didn't want to say anything because I already had to ask to even get service. Ordered spinach and bacon scramble, and maybe I read the menu wrong but it wasn't cooked with bacon, but Canadian bacon, which was a huge bummer. Whatever, the service was garbage, the drink was garbage, the food was ok but not what I was expecting. Not going back. Your mileage may vary, but for the price especially it's not worth it to me. read more
