After dinner we came over here for a few drinks outside on patio overlooking the water. Nice scenery and good drinks. Quiet on a Thursday night but very relaxing atmosphere to enjoy with friends. Hubby and I decided to try this place for St. Patrick's Day. They actually have a decent patio area on Lake Carolyn. To be honest service was very bad, the only nice server was Matthew. He apologized for the delay for the drinks and food. It literally took them a good 20 minutes just to take our drink order. Mind you Matthew was a sweetheart and said they got a big rush. Their beer list is quite expansive, if you feel overwhelmed like I did, the server was very informative and recommended some delicious choices! I come here often for HH. Today, I finally decided to go for brunch. The views if you sit outside is nice and today was warm and sunny. I had the migas skillet for $10 and it came with a side of fruit cup. It was good! My friend had a Pesto Chicken sandwhich and she liked it. I ordered a moscow mule but it was watery no alcohol. I think I prefer to go here during weekdays after work. Giving 4 stars since was server was nice and accommodated every request. If you are allergic to dogs, do not sit on the patio. Everything about this place is perfectly average. Food, views, service, nothing to write home about. Chicken and waffle universally seemed the most visually appealing dish and my friend who ate it loved it, but everyone else mildly enjoyed their food. I had the pesto blt and it was fine but certainly not memorable. Parking was a hassle (avoid the garage at all costs) and there is hardly any view of the lake. My husband got a burger and didn't receive the mayo he asked for until after he finished the burger - oh well. Last night was my first time eating here, it reminds me of a Pub like restaurant that I frequently use to eat at back home in Okc. The area that it is in is really beautiful and lively. There are a lot of other restaurants near by and and ice cream place next door. It is right next to the water, which I'm sure is a great view and experience during spring or summer. I ordered the Moscow mule, that I very much enjoyed. We wanted to order the stuffed jalapeños but they were out, which just means I'll have to go back to try them lol. I ordered the Buffalo chicken sliders, they were so cute and delicious, there was a sauce that came on it that I was not a big fan of but I also added the spicy ranch on top so it all balanced out. For dessert my friend and I shared the brownie with vanilla ice cream, definitely cute my sweet tooth! Our waitress was attentive and checked on us ever so often. All other staff seemed nice, the placed was more packed than I expected but the vibes and environment where chill and relaxing so I understood why. Where to begin? So excited to try this place hoping it would resemble a beer garden, but boy was I wrong. First off, the service was horrible. Hostess was zoned out and did not even ask how many people to seat when we walked in. We stood there for almost 3 minutes in awkward silence before I said HELLO. She then lazily cleared a table and seemed annoyed that we chose one outside that she had to clean. The waitress was worse, to my surprise. I literally had to stand up and get our own napkins and cutlery from the hostess station. Slow is an understatement when it comes to the service here. We were here well over an hour and only had 2 beers because she never came back. BTW if you want water, apparently you have to ask for it 3 times and never receive it. Food was horrible. The only thing that we finished was the grilled cheese, mostly because my son was starving. The charcuterie board was basically Walmart cold cuts and planters nuts. The fish and chips were REFRIED. Ya that's right, re fried food. The grilled cheese was not even warm or melt and the salad was prepackaged it seemed. Lastly, how the heck do you pride yourself on having a great beer selection when you're out of everything and the beer isn't even cold. The newest rendition of The Ginger Man is in a great location along the lake with a decently large outdoor seating area wrapping around the outside. There is ample parking in the surrounding lots & garages, and it's a 5 minute walk from the Las Colinas Urban Center DART station. The building itself is tucked away in a new mixed-use development and isn't quite as cozy as some of the other Ginger Man locations, but outdoor seating along the waterfront should be enticing enough. The main draw here is the expansive beer selection, and it does not disappoint in the regard. We were pleased to notice that most specialty beers we sampled arrived in a branded glasses from the brewery. I've been lucky enough to get great service on the patio during my visits (shoutout to John for his attentiveness & recommendations), but I have noticed that there seems to some processes & service areas that could be improved; I'll chalk it up to growing pains as the establishment settles into its new digs. I am looking forward to seeing this pub flourish in this area, and I am sure that I will be visiting again to sample more of the beer rotation. read more

I loved everything about this place. The people were so friendly to me, I came in and was very nervous because it was my very first time going into a pub alone without my husband or a friend. I instantly fell in love with the ambiance! The scenery was breathtaking, I could have sat there for hours. I was visiting from Las Vegas on a work trip. I came very under dressed and because the wind picked up my hair was such a mess lol I thought I would be judged because it's a very nice upscale place. I was treated very respectfully and I felt welcomed. I couldn't stop raving about this place so much that my husband and I came home and booked a trip at the hotel across the street. I just moved to the Las Colinas area and figured I would check out the local spots. When I seen the ginger man on yelp it looked like a dive bar spot which I'm not opposed to so I decided to give it a shot upon arrival I realize this place was much nicer than I thought it would be it's right on the water of Lake Carolyn and has a great view from the outside sitting area. Inside we were greeted by the staff. We chose to sit at the bar (I'm just more of a bar person) They had a special mystery beer and I decided to give it a try. The beer was only three dollars and was so great we also ordered an appetizer of loaded waffle fries which were pretty good too I personally would've liked some spice with it like jalapeños, but that's just a personal preference.
