I really wanted to love Global Ambassador given its aesthetic appeal, but my experience left a lot to be desired. My friends and I booked a dinner reservation days in advance at Thea for a girls' night out, only to face unnecessary hassles just getting past the gatekeepers at the lobby doors. We had to so proof of a reservation by pull up our original email confirmation which felt like a strange inconvenience. Once we finally made it inside, things didn't improve much. One of my friends, who is well-endowed, was told she had to put on a jacket, which felt uncomfortable and unnecessary. After that, when we made it upstairs to the restaurant, one of the hostesses informed us that the kitchen would be closing in just 4 minutes and we wouldn't be able to order food, only drinks. However, we were later told by the server that we could still order dinner, so it was confusing and a bit frustrating. The server was friendly but not attentive e nough -- only checking on us once after getting our food before dropping the bill on the table without even asking if we needed/wanted anything else. This lack of attention really diminished the experience. All in all, while Global Ambassador looks great on the surface, the service left much to be desired, and the overall experience did not live up to the hype. It felt more "mid" than anything else, and I honestly can't say I'd return in the future. :( read more

I have stayed at the Global Ambassador before right when they opened and there was obvious growing pains. ALTHOUGH we returned as my wife wanted to do a staycation for her 30th birthday so we agreed to return giving it another shot. This second stay was vastly different in a positive way. Prior to our arrival we were contacted to ensure all our needs were met and to see if there was anything else they could do to make the stay perfect. I was able to have flowers and a snack tray delivered prior to our arrival. Checking in was swift and was able to quickly get to our room with bags following. They had an available room for an upgrade which provided a full view of Camelback Mountain and a balcony overlooking the property. We were able to reserve a cabana at the pool restaurant known as the Pink Dolphin. See that review under that name. During our stay management checked up on us ensuring we were well taken care of making us feel valued. Communication with the hotel was easy as they message you asking you if you want turn down services and or cleaning so there is not someone like other hotels knocking on your door. I appreciate the changes they made in regard to the service. My wife and I love to get out and do staycations as well as travel the world. We will ensure to return to the Global Ambassador in the future. read more

Well, what can I say! I absolutely loved this place! From the time that I arrived until the time that I left, the customer service was top-notch. I came there because I had heard of all of the hoopla surrounding this place so I wanted to check it out for myself. I went upstairs to the rooftop bar, called Thea and I was greeted very nicely by the hostess. I sat at the bar and ordered two cosmopolitans with Gray goose vodka. Outstanding! I also ordered some calamari and it was wonderful! It wasn't chewy and it was extremely tender and flavorful. Then I went downstairs to the French restaurant/bar and I ordered some French onion soup. It was pretty good but it was a little sweet for me, I really did not like the sweet notes that were prevalent in the soup but overall the flavor was good and the cheese that was melted on. Top was very very good. However, I'm not sure that I would order it again because I don't like that sweetness that was associated with it. I like my French onion soup more on the salty side. The ambience here is crazy good and the customer service is outstanding. I can't wait to come back with my husband and a bunch of my girlfriends for a nice happy hour. read more

Loved this place! We did a staycation here. Our room was fabulous and very artsy, had a complete bar, snacks, lotions, face creams which of course I enjoyed, a whole set to make old fashions and lemons, super cute!!! We were gonna spend the day at the pool but we decided to hang out at the lobby bar, on the patio side. It was a beautiful day out and Saturday was busy. Plenty of people having a good time. Seems like the trendy place in Scottsdale. We had the pepperoni pizza bread and the shrimp cocktail (which it was 10 points), of course clase azul repo cucumber jalapeño skinny margaritas, so good. The staff were friendly and highly professional. Great ambiance. We then went upstairs to the rooftop. Espectacular Camelback Mountain View's, we had a great time and had an expresso martini that was super yummy. For dinner we went to Le Âme and sat at the patio, we shared a delicious French onion soup, and we also shared the skirt steak and mashed potatoes. 5 stars for the restaurant. OK, so this is a beautiful, upmarket, hotel that is very crowded. On the positive side: - the restaurants are excellent. - the lobby bar is hopping and cocktails/service is excellent. - the rooms are well appointed, but for a new hotel, showing some wear and tear. The negatives: - You can't help but feel that there are a lot of high end escorts hanging around in the lobby. - The presence of the condoms, lube and vibrator among the in-room amenities is just a little odd. - We travel from Canada to Phoenix a lot. Unlike the Phoenician, Camelback Inn, Four Seasons, Mountain Shadows etc. Rooms don't really have views. Ultimately, too crowded...more of a W Scottsdale vibe than a serious, upmarket hotel. Review Regarding Security ID Check on 5/10 Around 8 PM This review is specifically about the security staff responsible for ID checks on May 10th around 8 PM. I was turned away despite presenting a valid DMV-issued mobile ID. However, the person in front of me--a Caucasian woman--was allowed entry even after stating, "I don't have my ID." When I questioned the fairness of this, the security staff member responded, "She's a regular." I would have understood being denied entry if mobile IDs were not accepted at all, but allowing someone in without any form of ID, while denying entry to someone with a valid digital ID, is both unprofessional and inconsistent. This kind of unequal treatment raises serious concerns about fairness and bias in the establishment's policies. read more

To sum it up: Imagine if The SoHo House married Starbucks and had a baby= The Global Ambassador would be the result. It is incredible how many hotels miss out on the opportunity to monetize their huge, mostly empty, lobby's. Here you will find what all hotels should do: Fill the lobby's with high class beautiful bars with ample seating arrangements and several restaurants with great food and drinks. It's really that good. You'll find this place busy at all times. Which makes it a fun people watching wonderful experience. To the left of the entrance is a café bar experience with croissants, pan au chocolates, and other pastries on offer along with coffees and teas. In the center is the main bar with a few choice selections on the menu, such as charcuterie, trays, and light bites. The drinks are ample, and the service is great. You can sit in or outside -it's all charming and the main bar extends to the atrium that also is the common grounds for the hotel portion of the property. Further along, you will find a great restaurant L'Ame which is wonderful for lunch or dinner. Walk along the back to the pool and there's another great restaurant called the pink dolphin, which has been a wonderful addition. There's also also a rooftop bar that's Mediterranean. So basically, you'll find a ton of selections and things to do. Lots of friendly people in good service. Bravo! read more

The Global ambassador always has me impressed. Today was my first time trying the market located in the lobby. I believe that I got the skin smoothie.(blue smoothie) and it was delicious and very hydrating. In my opinion, it is somewhat similar to the famous erewhon smoothie in Los Angeles. What's better than a mix of Mexican and Peruvian cuisine...poolside?! Absolutely nothing! Pink Dolphin, is a boutique and restaurant, located inside the beautiful Global Ambassador. The restaurant is open to the public at 11, but if you're eyeing the poolside experience you've gotta be a member/ with a member. Trust me when I say the pool is just an added bonus, the food is what you're after. Seating is somewhat limited so I'd highly recommend getting there at open because it's walk in only, no reservations. It's colorful giving off Miami with a little bit of Paris vibes in my opinion - making it's a hot spot for a girls day, birthday, or a nice day. I'm blessed to be good friends with members who've dined their multiple times, leaving the ordering to them. Since there was a group of us they opted for a handful of appetizers, along with the tacos - let's just say I'm still dreaming about the entire experience. We started with the Skinny Dip that comes with guacamole and a pitcher of skinny margs- but by the end of it we'd tried, a moment of zen, sangria, manhattan, along with a few others. Weird place. Poorly run. People have dinner on rooftop and ask how to get to the bar area downstairs afterwards, and nobody has a clue about customer service. One of the rude chaperone's pushes my beautiful girlfriend out in the cold, telling her to wait back in line if she wants to go from Thea to the lobby bar. Why on earth would they push a female patron alone outside, when she only wanted to go from their restaurant to their bar area? Are they crazy? Food is mediocre and doesn't compensate for this poorly managed the place is. Came there last week, complimentary valet and this week they charge. Very random place with random rules. Saw people waiting in line outside for a long time, when (except for one bar area) the inside is practically empty, with management not having enough patrons to keep ALL the bar areas open. This is a very luxurious hotel with multiple restaurants. Definitely seems like the place to 'see and be seen' in Phoenix. That said, this place is gorgeous and a must-stop if you're in the area. We were here the first week and they were doing great. Super personable service -focused on attention to detail. Tim, the bar manager was very accommodating but my favorite was our server, Sunni! Super expensive drinks very nice place. Everything was great until they decided to cut us off on our birthday party in New Year's Day celebration. The crazy part was the fact that we're there for five hours and only had three rounds of drinks so it wasn't like we were intoxicated. They just decided they didn't want our business anymore at $40 a head for drinks. Instead of my drink order they brought water. If I wanted water, I would have order it. That was the most annoying because they never actually came to check on us to see how we were or if we should even be cut off, all they did is just send water. If you want to have a party here highly don't recommend it because you won't have any fun. read more
