It's been a while because I debated leaving a review here. Been here 2 times and the service is SLOW! Not only slow but some just flat rude. We wanted to give them the benefit of doubt and saw they had love island watch parties. We came early to secure a spot. Told the host why we came and he sat us right by the TV. We waited for it to begin. We tried to order the theme drinks and were told no because it's only when the show begins. (Mind you this was 10 mins prior to show time) Then the show was supposed to begin and none of the tvs were on the show. We watched them play with remotes for 15 mins. Still they didn't put it on the half of the bar were 4 groups were waiting. 30mins into the show we didn't see our server, no one told us it was only showing in the pool area. Us and another table had to get up to see it was on the other side of the bar. Mind you, there was no sound for a WATCH PARTY! So people were reading subtitles. Finally our server came and apologized about it not being on our side. We asked for the check and she charged us for those drinks WE NEVER GOT! That were sitting at the bar for 30mins. The only reason this doesn't give five stars is because the coffee service from Morning ritual for the goat is a little slow. Other than that, I highly recommend. Wanted to check out what Durham had to offer during my stay in Raleigh, so hopped over Line and came to this cute cafe! The residents living in the apartments that were built next to this place are pretty lucky! Our server told us that The Goat holds a lot of activities for them and the pool area is a nice place for residents and restaurant customers can hang out and play games. We got the biscuit flight. Perfectly buttery, fluffy on the inside, with ample crispy edges! The honey and berry dips were god, but the pimento cheese dip was out of this world! I like pimento but I'm not the biggest fan because everyone makes it differently. My pet peeve is a Mayo forward pimento. The Goat Pimento cheese seems to be made with cream cheese and I didn't taste any Mayo, so THIS is how I prefer my pimento cheese! I couldn't get enough of its savory goodness, then going for a honey or berry dips for that sweet salty sensation. The coffee service was annoying. Our server brought out the biscuits before the coffee, so I asked about it. About 3 minutes later a girl came with my husband's cappuccino and my coffee was in a glass filled to the brim with ice. I immediately said, wait I didn't order iced anything, I drink my coffee hot and she immediately snatched it and walked away without saying a word! That was a strange way to treat a customer who has not only been waiting for late coffee but when the coffee came it was all wrong! We were almost done with the biscuit flight by the time my Lavender Honey Mocha with Oat Milk HOT came out. I will say that it was a delicious cup, however! Worth the wait??? Well I ended up asking my server for a to go cup for the coffee. The last nail in the coffin of The Goat not getting that 5th star is getting a plastic to go cup for a cold drink. By this time I realize they were never gonna get it right. Popped In for coffee at the adjoining Morning Ritual and got hungry. So I mosyed on over to the The GOAT for some food. I ordered the burger and chips with cheese and bacon. It was comparably priced at $14 but extra for the bacon. (When did burgers become so expensive?). The burger was delicious- juicy with a delectable sauce. Very good. I didn't care for the chips. They are served cold and were a bit limp. I prefer hot and crunchy chips. Next time I'll get the French fries. The restaurant has plenty of parking and seating as well as a full bar with tvs. (Sports bar vibes). Service was excellent. My server was attentive and pleasant. I met a friend who had meetings on World Trade Boulevard near RDU. I suggested The Goat based on Yelp reviews and because it was convenient to her meetings and Interstate 40 since she lives in the Charlotte area and was driving home that evening. Vickie was already there when I arrived and had ordered the Queso Skillet. It was a great way to start the meal. The sausage gave it a nice flavor and paired well with the queso. Although The Goat has a full bar, we both opted for soft drinks. I had a club soda with cranberry juice, which was mixed well and refreshing. After enjoying the sausage in the Queso Skillet, I ordered the Nonna Tavern Pizza with Italian sausage, caramelized onions, banana peppers, and basil marinara. Whatever blend of cheeses was used, the pizza was delicious. I also had a side house salad with apple vinaigrette, which was very tasty. Vickie ordered the grilled salmon and said it was quite good. The service was very good, and the space has a modern industrial tavern feel with upscale farmhouse and brewery-inspired design elements. It feels casual and comfortable while being more polished than a typical sports bar. One feature that sets The Goat apart is its coffee-and-breakfast concept. So I would have given this place a five-star because the the food, the actual person that was working, and the atmosphere were all very nice. The caveat to this, was that there was one person attending to about 20 people in the restaurants by himself. He was doing a great job at that but really there should have been other stuff on hand to accommodate everyone. Everyone surrounding us had to wait for an extended period of time to get their things in place because one person was working so hard to accommodate everybody. I don't think this should be held on the server the bartender because he was running around doing the best that he could. Moving along, went in for a burger which I heard was amazing from multiple people, but opted to get the salmon tacos ( also recommended) which were awesome! They came in threes and was a filling portion. The side chips is the option that comes with the entree but after hearing so many great reviews about the brussel sprouts and sweet potatoes, I decided to check those out. So glad that I did! They were out of this world good!! It seems that they have events throughout the week and different happy hour food items specials, which is always a nice touch. I will definitely be back and I met lots of nice people there having great conversation! Just okay. I had been wanting to try the Goat for the longest time. Unfortunately I was disappointed by my experience. The service was incredibly slow. We were told the wait would be 15 min but it was closer to 25min and it wasn't packed. Our drinks took forever to come along with our food. Pretty solid "bar" food (that's what I would best compare it to). Have been here twice now, sat outside at the window (nice option if you're swimming at the pool right outside, or want a little fresh air). The outside bar is pretty long (as is the window that they open up for service), and there's plenty of bar seating- as well as tables. I have tried the pepperoni flatbread (appreciate all the optional add-ons), the burger, and the tater tots. I thought the flat bread was really good, not too saucy, crust was fluffy and crisp, and the pepperoni was crispy. The burger was really juicy, the brioche bun was fresh and soft, and I loved the option to add on macaroni and cheese as a side (instead of fries). I got the American burger with bacon, and added the macaroni to it! The loaded baked potato tots are scrumptious- the sour cream, fried onions, and cheesy (creamy! interior really make the tots unique, compared to any I've had before. I'm pretty sure they don't take reservations, at least not online, but I've not had to wait long at all for a table when I've gone for brunch. The restaurant it's so cute and the vibes are nice. It's got a full bar and also a coffee/breakfast shop when you come in. The service also matches. I've always had a great experience. I visited this past Saturday evening. In the past, the service was reasonable. However, this time, it took about 40-50 minutes to get our appetizer and food. We even ordered immediately on arrival. The wait was so discouraging. They explained first they burned the appetizer and had to remake it. Then, they mentioned they have a new menu, hence the delay. We ordered the Brussels sprouts, which two weeks ago was a good, plentiful size but now was 1/3. I also think their burger and fries quantity was smaller than 2 weeks ago. They mentioned this is their new menu. This may be a version of shrinkflation. They mentioned the Brussels sprouts was smaller quantity due to addition to a minuet amount of sweet potato and honey butter. Unfortunately, the quantity is so small that I probably won't order this again It is going to be sometime before I will feel like coming back. It's sad because the food tastes good. The menu was limited for someone who has a pescatarian diet, no protein for me at this restaurant. There were a lot of egg options, which I do not eat. I opted to get the vegetarian version of tostadas and my friend decided to get waffles with a side of bacon and eggs. Simple yet prominent decor made perfectly for communing with friends. In the atmosphere you hear chatter and laughter, exposing the truth of being a lively social gathering place. After careful review of the menu, and at the suggestion of Jake I went with the Korean Crispy Chicken Wrap with Brussels sprouts instead of the house chips. The wrap was good but if I could offer one suggestion it would be to have a sauce with the wrap. I opted for the whisky sauce to pair with the wrap and it was exactly what was needed. The perfect sauce would something sweet and spicy if you ask me. The Brussel sprouts were AH- MAZING. I don't know the sauce they coated them with but it was so delicious. How can I forget the fried pickles. simply delicious. For my drink choice, I went with midnight orchid. This drink was a mix of Wheatley Vodka, simple syrup, butterfly pea tea, and lemon juice. I coordinated a team dinner for 34 people visiting from out of state, and unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing. The booking process was dysfunctional--the online form didn't work, the phone number on the website was incorrect, and email inquiries went unanswered. We paid more than $700 for taco bars advertised for 30-40 people, yet the food provided was adequate for 20 at best! For nearly $1,000 in food and drinks spent in under two hours, we expected at minimum enough food for everyone to have two tacos and enough chips to justify and eat the $120 queso dip. When we raised concerns, the chef and manager offered no meaningful assistance and refused to prepare enough food to fulfill the order. The chef even admitted she had prepared only 13 chicken breasts for a taco bar advertised to feed 15-20 adults. Do you cook two chicken breasts for five chicken sandwich meals? Of course not-- not if you intend to stay in business. Absolutely crazy. This was frustrating and embarrassing, and I cannot recommend this restaurant. read more

Texted the niece since it's right at her apartment and she met me there. We got several things to share: Hot Buffalo dip, Nachos and Hot Chicken flatbread. Located within a living community, attached to the apartment pool... looks aesthetically pleasing but some things I wasn't fond of: sanitation rating of 82.5 from 06/2024, which triggered my curiosity and upon looking into it, has only gone down year after year. Tables do not even have basic salt and pepper or sauces on them. Prices were steep for what they served. We ordered the biscuit "butter" plate which came with pimento cheese, hot honey and a strawberry preserve (so no butters). The pimento cheese and strawberry preserve were actually very tasty. Took forever to get drinks and even had to remind our waiter that we ordered drinks. Our entrees were just ok... I would say the powdered eggs the Army gives you are better than the ones here and side salad tasted dirty, warm and wilted. We've read about this place but it's in an odd location (looks like you are pulling into a residential area) but finally went since we had a discount from a local dining club. The food was good but our service was very odd. We chose to sit at the bar since a wait for tables on a Friday would take longer. Either they were shortstaffed or the bartender was overworked because it took a very long time between when he gave us menus and finally took our orders. Also, I was interested in a draft beer but he said their tap system was not working. Food was actually pretty good; my wife enjoyed the spice level of the barbecued jackfruit sandwich. I would probably give them another chance but we don't live close enough to do it on a whim. It looks like they have sand volleyball and a pool. We got served right away and tried the $6 special drink the hemingway daiquiri . Wasn't too please it was served in a small martini glass and not filled to the top. Anyways we ordered the buffalo wrap that came with fries and a side of crispy Brussels sprouts. Both were good and the Brussel sprouts had a spicy sauce on it. The menu prices is a bit on the high side. Also parking is limited considering it's right in the same parking lot as an apartment complex.
