I met a friend who had meetings on World Trade Boulevard near RDU. I suggested The Goat based on Yelp reviews and because it was convenient to her meetings and Interstate 40 since she lives in the Charlotte area and was driving home that evening. Vickie was already there when I arrived and had ordered the Queso Skillet. It was a great way to start the meal. The sausage gave it a nice flavor and paired well with the queso. Although The Goat has a full bar, we both opted for soft drinks. I had a club soda with cranberry juice, which was mixed well and refreshing. After enjoying the sausage in the Queso Skillet, I ordered the Nonna Tavern Pizza with Italian sausage, caramelized onions, banana peppers, and basil marinara. Whatever blend of cheeses was used, the pizza was delicious. I also had a side house salad with apple vinaigrette, which was very tasty. Vickie ordered the grilled salmon and said it was quite good. The service was very good, and the space has a modern industrial tavern feel with upscale farmhouse and brewery-inspired design elements. It feels casual and comfortable while being more polished than a typical sports bar. One feature that sets The Goat apart is its coffee-and-breakfast concept. The coffee, breakfast, and work area is separated from the main restaurant and resembles the kind of modern, uncluttered coffeehouse you might find in a contemporary hotel or airport lounge. It creates a welcoming space for morning coffee, breakfast, or remote work before the lunch and dinner crowds arrive. After my visit, I learned that The Goat is operated by LC Hospitality, an Ohio-based company that has expanded the concept to several states. The Brier Creek location is one of multiple Goat locations, giving it the feel of a locally focused establishment while benefiting from a larger hospitality organization. Just okay. I had been wanting to try the Goat for the longest time. Unfortunately I was disappointed by my experience. The service was incredibly slow. We were told the wait would be 15 min but it was closer to 25min and it wasn't packed. Our drinks took forever to come along with our food. They took so long with the food we couldn't even enjoy it at the restaurant because some of us had to rush back for your afternoon meetings. The beers were good and we really enjoyed our appetizers. However, we both thought the burgers were just "blah". The meat was not exciting or flavorful. The burgers were overcooked in my opinion. This spot is in a great location with its own parking lot, and the inside looks nice with plenty of TVs and a roomy, clean dining area. There's also an outdoor space to eat, which is a plus. But the food has been a consistent letdown. My order came out overcooked, and the fries were drenched in salt. I never leave feeling like the quality matches the price. I visited this past Saturday evening. In the past, the service was reasonable. However, this time, it took about 40-50 minutes to get our appetizer and food. We even ordered immediately on arrival. The wait was so discouraging. They explained first they burned the appetizer and had to remake it. Then, they mentioned they have a new menu, hence the delay. We ordered the Brussels sprouts, which two weeks ago was a good, plentiful size but now was 1/3. I also think their burger and fries quantity was smaller than 2 weeks ago. They mentioned this is their new menu. This may be a version of shrinkflation. They mentioned the Brussels sprouts was smaller quantity due to addition to a minuet amount of sweet potato and honey butter. Unfortunately, the quantity is so small that I probably won't order this again It is going to be sometime before I will feel like coming back. It's sad because the food tastes good. Pretty solid "bar" food (that's what I would best compare it to). Have been here twice now, sat outside at the window (nice option if you're swimming at the pool right outside, or want a little fresh air). I have tried the pepperoni flatbread (appreciate all the optional add-ons), the burger, and the tater tots. I thought the flat bread was really good, not too saucy, crust was fluffy and crisp, and the pepperoni was crispy. The burger was really juicy, the brioche bun was fresh and soft, and I loved the option to add on macaroni and cheese as a side (instead of fries). I got the American burger with bacon, and added the macaroni to it! The loaded baked potato tots are scrumptious- the sour cream, fried onions, and cheesy (creamy! interior really make the tots unique, compared to any I've had before. Great place for brunch! I've only been for brunch, but would love to try it out for dinner as well. Nestled in Brier Creek right by an apartment complex with parking lot attached. I'm pretty sure they don't take reservations, at least not online, but I've not had to wait long at all for a table when I've gone for brunch. The restaurant it's so cute and the vibes are nice. It's got a full bar and also a coffee/breakfast shop when you come in. The service also matches. I've always had a great experience. They have great mimosa specials and the food is really really good! The portions are good especially for the price and flavorful. I've had The Goat Burrito and the Chicken Nachos. The menu was limited for someone who has a pescatarian diet, no protein for me at this restaurant. There were a lot of egg options, which I do not eat. I opted to get the vegetarian version of tostadas and my friend decided to get waffles with a side of bacon and eggs. The tostadas were OK, too much sauce. drizzled on top for me but for a sauce lover, it would be great. The ambiance was nice. It was a large indoor space, divided with a separate coffee/ breakfast bar area. The outdoor patio overlooks a really nice pool with an outdoor volleyball court. Simple yet prominent decor made perfectly for communing with friends. In the atmosphere you hear chatter and laughter, exposing the truth of being a lively social gathering place. After careful review of the menu, and at the suggestion of Jake I went with the Korean Crispy Chicken Wrap with Brussels sprouts instead of the house chips. The wrap was good but if I could offer one suggestion it would be to have a sauce with the wrap. I opted for the whisky sauce to pair with the wrap and it was exactly what was needed. The perfect sauce would something sweet and spicy if you ask me. The Brussel sprouts were AH- MAZING. I don't know the sauce they coated them with but it was so delicious. How can I forget the fried pickles. simply delicious. For my drink choice, I went with midnight orchid. This drink was a mix of Wheatley Vodka, simple syrup, butterfly pea tea, and lemon juice. I coordinated a team dinner for 34 people visiting from out of state, and unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing. The booking process was dysfunctional--the online form didn't work, the phone number on the website was incorrect, and email inquiries went unanswered. We paid more than $700 for taco bars advertised for 30-40 people, yet the food provided was adequate for 20 at best! For nearly $1,000 in food and drinks spent in under two hours, we expected at minimum enough food for everyone to have two tacos and enough chips to justify and eat the $120 queso dip. When we raised concerns, the chef and manager offered no meaningful assistance and refused to prepare enough food to fulfill the order. The chef even admitted she had prepared only 13 chicken breasts for a taco bar advertised to feed 15-20 adults. Do you cook two chicken breasts for five chicken sandwich meals? Of course not-- not if you intend to stay in business. Absolutely crazy. This was frustrating and embarrassing, and I cannot recommend this restaurant. read more

Texted the niece since it's right at her apartment and she met me there. We got several things to share: Hot Buffalo dip, Nachos and Hot Chicken flatbread. The nachos could have used a little more od the toppings, but they were good. The dip was chunky versus more smooth like normal. I prefer the chunky! Located within a living community, attached to the apartment pool... looks aesthetically pleasing but some things I wasn't fond of: sanitation rating of 82.5 from 06/2024, which triggered my curiosity and upon looking into it, has only gone down year after year. Tables do not even have basic salt and pepper or sauces on them. Prices were steep for what they served. We ordered the biscuit "butter" plate which came with pimento cheese, hot honey and a strawberry preserve (so no butters). The pimento cheese and strawberry preserve were actually very tasty. Took forever to get drinks and even had to remind our waiter that we ordered drinks. Our entrees were just ok... I would say the powdered eggs the Army gives you are better than the ones here and side salad tasted dirty, warm and wilted. Decided to try a new place for lunch with a friend and The Goat was a hit. It's a bright open space in a up and coming area of Brier Creek/Page Road. I say this because there is a lot of construction around the area. I was greeted and seated quickly and our server was pleasant and friendly. The menu has a variety of items and a fantastic drink menu. I opted for a salad, called The Harvest and added grilled chicken. It comes with a balsamic vinegar dressing on the side and the dressing was extra vinegar-y and I loved it. Overall a nice place for casual lunch dates and they also seem to do a lot of events so definitely check their website. I plan on eating here again. read more

We've read about this place but it's in an odd location (looks like you are pulling into a residential area) but finally went since we had a discount from a local dining club. The food was good but our service was very odd. We chose to sit at the bar since a wait for tables on a Friday would take longer. Either they were shortstaffed or the bartender was overworked because it took a very long time between when he gave us menus and finally took our orders. Also, I was interested in a draft beer but he said their tap system was not working. Food was actually pretty good; my wife enjoyed the spice level of the barbecued jackfruit sandwich. I would probably give them another chance but we don't live close enough to do it on a whim. It looks like they have sand volleyball and a pool. We got served right away and tried the $6 special drink the hemingway daiquiri . Wasn't too please it was served in a small martini glass and not filled to the top. Anyways we ordered the buffalo wrap that came with fries and a side of crispy Brussels sprouts. Both were good and the Brussel sprouts had a spicy sauce on it. I left rather disappointed with my experience here. We came here for drinks and dinner on Thursday night. It was not busy, half of the tables if not more were available. We sat down, friendly waiter checked in on us, I ordered a drink and my partner asked about what do they have on tap. About 5 minutes later she came back, confirmed our drinks order, and we ordered food. From there, we sat for about 20-25 minutes at the empty table. Again, the bar did not look busy. This is the prime time to sit and chat while sipping on a drink but ok, whatever, empty table it is. Finally our drinks arrived. I made one sip, and I kid you not, 30 seconds later they brought our food. Ugh! I ordered honey ginger beet salad with grilled chicken. Such a great idea but such poor execution, unfortunately. First of all, the salad is served on a flat plate. If you even attempt to mix it in a little, it falls off the plate. Second, the dressing was very thick, it had very thick sauce consistency. It did not mix well with the salad at all, combine that with a flat plate and it was just a disaster, some salad leaves were overdressed and some were left completely dry. Now, the idea of mixing beets with nuts and goat cheese is nice and it tasted good, but the salad had not a lot of beets at all. For $19.50 I expected more, honestly. Grilled chicken was lukewarm which was also strange, you'd think it would be either chill or hot. Oh, and the menu description said "baby kale blend", but look at the photo, this was a spring mix and not baby kale blend. Our server asked us how everything is looking as they were putting out plates on the table so frankly that's just too early to ask about it as I didn't even get a chance to look at my dish. Later on she didn't check in with us, only when were we're done with everything. At that point we just asked for the check. So... the staff seemed friendly, the place looked clean and new, but I'd be hesitant to recommend it. Maybe for drinks only, and maybe if you sit at the bar. I got the ginger beat salad and the chucks of ginger was really big and just thrown on. I feel like they could be more integrated in the salad instead of giant chunks on top. The GOAT is a dope cafe & bar that really offers the best of both worlds. They have a small coffee counter and cafe as well as a full restaurant and bar. The service here is excellent, the dining space is spacious, equipped with a full bar and plenty of flatscreens. The part that sold me the most is that they have brunch on weekends, are open to 2 a.m. and 12 midnight during the week. While celebrating my birthday this evening, a friend suggested a night cap at a local bar before returning home to continue celebrating. We both had The Goat on our bucket lists. The bar is conveniently located within minutes from Raleigh & Morrisville. A easy trip. Miss Sandra was our server and we absolutely adored her. She was bubbly and helped us make well informed decisions when ordering. I love whiskey, so she suggested the Apricot of my rye cocktail. It was perfection. We had fried green tomatoes which could stand for more seasoned tomatoes, a better sauce and some garnished toppings. My favorite tonight? The sweet potato cheesecake. This was such a treat!
