Went to go see Eric Church last night in Manchester. So we decided to try out the Goat before the show. We got there early and good thing we did too. We sat at this high top bar looking at the stage. Within minutes of us getting there the place was packed. Looks like everyone that was going to the show had the same idea. My girlfriend and I got there and we were met by our awesome bartender. Dan greeted us right away. We both got the Hot Agave (great drink by the way) and some appetizers. We had more friends show up and he took great care of all of us. We all got different sandwiches and burgers along with the appetizers. The food came out pretty quick considering how busy the place was. Our whole group loved the food and drinks. Excited to know there was a "The Goat" we are familiar with the one in Portsmouth. We called to see what the wait was, we were only 4 miles away so we were super excited. The lady that answered said there was "NO Wait"When we got there, (10 minutes later), went in and was told there was a 45-1 hour wait!! Like what? We said we just called 5 -10 minutes ago and was told there was "No wait", how is it now 45-1 hour wait??? Her response was so sarcastic, she replied, "that's the industry, I just sat my 5 last tables." Now there is a wait... No apologies for that nothing. I stated we work in the industry there is no way it went from zero to an hour all we got was shrugged shoulders, and a " I don't know what to tell you"! Rude. So maybe that's how they suck you into going and staying for the wait , well not us. We left! Hopefully the one in Portsmouth will not do that to us, so far they have been realistic on their timelines whenever asked about it! read more

I wanted to love it. This was our 3rd time here. 1st was a disaster. They ran out of condiments for the bloody mary I custom ordered that they were supposed to be so famous for. Our burgers took over an hour to arrive. We tried again a few months later and it was better but still our food was very slow to arrive. Fast forward to today. Our server didn't know a table in her section was sat. We waited to be noticed about 15 minutes until my husband had to ask the hostess about being served. Ordered our food and drinks at the same time to avoid the wait. We arrived at 2:30 pm. Our food did not arrive until 345. We were told that at a specific time of 3-4 pm that the kitchen "switched over" and it takes a bit for them to make the food. Our burgers arrived finally and tasted good, but fries and Mac and cheese were cold. Sorry to say we will not be back and will not recommend it. 3 strikes. read more

I have been to this location a few times. Although I had a small feeling it wasn't LGBTQ friendly, overall I enjoyed myself. However, tonight I have been bluntly confronted with the homophobic treatment I tried to ignore. I borrowed a stool from a empty table and had it snatched out of my boyfriends hands. Coming into this, we knew it would be a college kid focused clientele but what the hell, a new spot! We opted out of ordering more drinks as newcomers. If you want to try to have conversations this is not the place for you. If you want to overpay for an improper cocktail in a pint glass by all means come here. We spent $100 on a round of drinks and light bites as a group of 4 gals. The issue I have with this place is that "Karen" creeped on us from a distance while we tried to enjoy our meal and underwhelming .10 wings. A suggestion for future promotions indicate your disclaimers if you don't want people taking leftovers. We are not broke college kids, we are college educated adult women. So the manager asked me for specifics for my negative review, so here we go. The french onion soup tasted like dish water, and the broth, because it was so bad, washed all of the smoke flavor off of the brisket. The burger I ordered as rare as they will do it. After 45 minutes of waiting, I knew it was going to be more than well done, so I cut it in half, and low and behold the center of the burger looked like a charcoal bricket. I understand it is dark in the place, but not so dark that a burger that was supposed to be pink at the worst, would look like it has been turned inside out and cooked again. He also stated that his kitchen staff works really hard, which is fantastic, however if they can't do their jobs right, it doesn't mean anything. I hope he finds this feedback, not as an insult, but rather construtive criticism. I was insulting in my last review and apologize for that. I was very upset after that experience. read more

First visit with friends for fantasy football party and disappointed. We dropped $235+ and our waiter harped on us several times to leave table indicating several parties where waiting. We eat out several times a week (even during the pandemic) and are loyal to supporting local establishments. We went to 10 cent wing night in Manchester recently as a party of five. We sat at a table and our waitress was excellent. We were there two hours and spent $150 before tip so obviously the wings were a give away. As soon as we paid our bill we were told by Karen that we needed to vacate the table for waiting patrons ( who were all about maybe 21 years old). I found it offensive to be rushed out when we spent more in two hours than the waiting patrons were likely to spend in 20 hours. Will think twice before getting a table here again. 3 strikes and you're out. Have been 2 times in the restaurant area and it was ok. Sat at the bar today with my husband around 4:30 (not busy), bar staff was ridiculous. Never made eye contact and there were 5 of them. We had to flag them down because they were all conversing among themselves. I ordered my burger pink (as they state on the menu), it was way overdone. To give a proper review for the Goat is has to be divided into categories. Firstly, the atmosphere is awesome and always is. Secondly the vibe and experience is very different on a weekday vs a weekend. During the day, even on the weekend, it's a restaurant and bar but on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday it's more like a club which is very fun. The drinks and food are good. However, the reason I'd give it three stars are these. When you during those restaurant oriented times food is beyond slow. You'll wait an hour for a table and then an hour and a half for your food to come out and it's not like it's that amazing of food. On the weekend oriented hours since they've greatly limited the number of people who can you be inside, frequently you get stuck in a line that will take hours to get in and many times you won't make it in before the nights end and the staff will never mention that to all the people outside wasting their time. They will talk to a few girls and somehow they who are at the end of the 3 hour line are inside five minutes later. Also the restrictions on drink is semi annoying. While live music is great too, the DJs on Thursdays were greatly appreciated. They can't control what happens around them as well. Manchester can be a rough city, that isn't their fault. read more

Went to the goat in Manchester for the first time last week for a friends birthday. Place wasn't busy and there was around 10 of us. We were buying shots and drinks left and right and the bartender DAN did not seem impressed. He was kind of a buzz kill but we still had fun. We still tipped him well at the end of the night because it's the right thing to do. Never smiled or said a word to us so I'm in no rush to get back there and will take our money elsewhere. read more

one of the worst experiences of my life. the bouncer was predatory and verbally abusive, the meanest bouncer I have ever encountered even though I did nothing wrong. even the hostess asked him what his problem was with me and why he was being so mean to me. it seemed as if he was trying to get a reason to kick me out or get me arrested because of some desire to inflate his fragile ego. again, the worst service experience I have ever had to this day and I hope this place goes out of business I have never felt so disrespected in my life. read more

Had dinner on a Friday night here and the food was delicious! I had the BBBBLT and it totally hit the spot. The staff was all super friendly. We got there for dinner at 7 and enjoyed the atmosphere so much that we ended up staying till midnight. They had an awesome DJ playing that night. Everyone seemed to be having a blast. read more

called to make reservations for party of 9(5 adults/4 children) for 1/22/23. was told they didn't take reservations but was advised to arrive at 10:45;to be served and get to event across the street for 1:00pm. arrived on time but did not get seated for 45minutes. Had reviewed menu in advance so gave order immediately. Waited for over an hour and no food. Waitress checked twice on order. 1st reply was the kitchen was backed up. 2nd time 12:30pm was the kitchen had not started the order yet. We canceled the order, paid for our drinks and left.
