So I got invited to the Goldfinch by a friend, who clearly knows how to spot a gems in busy Denver. The atmosphere was very vintage with a splash of boho here and there. I really liked the yellow finch pictures on the wall which was nice. Our waiter "Alex" was very polite and friendly. He made us wonderful mojitos and made sure we were ok. He even gave us 10% discount cards to come back. Overall service was spot on.

Colorado has such a fantastic restaurant and bar scene. I am making it my new mission to find the best of the best and guess what? The Goldfinch goes on the list of BEST! Holy cannoli, if you haven't been to this place you are missing out! Next level atmosphere that will make you feel fancy! I love a place that makes me feel like I walked into a hip, invitation only, upscale environment! But guess what no invite or reservation necessary! Oh, and free parking! Show up with pals and hang out in the outdoor covered space or at the inside cozy tables with swivel chairs like you wish you had at home! They have some more private smaller seating areas kinda in a corner if you need to discuss hot topics over a cocktail or beer. They do serve food which I will go back and try one day. When I showed up I just wanted a cool drink and the cucumber refresher was so what I needed to keep my energy up on a hot day! We had a friendly, nice waitress that moved here recently from Arkansas. Definitely would sit in her section next time I visit! I really have to start taking names because no matter where I go around Colorado the people are awesome!

Really cute bar/coffee shop! Parking is kind of tight in the parking lot, but there is street parking. Megan, our bartender, was great! The espresso martini (mine) and old fashion (boyfriend) she made were balanced. Really nice start to our afternoon. The inside is beautiful decorated, quiet, and they were setting up for ladies night (Thursday). Everything was clean too. Definitely worth checking out!

We went for brunch, not a ton of options but good food and not too expensive. I'd recommend. Very cute atmosphere.

They have free parking, which is a huge plus in that neighborhood! It has very interesting decor with a dark mood. I met some friends for happy hour and we got drinks and tacos, which were all good. My drink got a flame which I always love for presentation!

Great spot! Stopped in for some late night drinks with friends & there was plenty of seating. They also had a DJ that was great but not too loud so we were able to still chat. Service was quick with our orders and very kind. I would love to return during the day & try their brunch/dinner and happy hour!

Cool spot, cocktails are unique twists on the classics. Everyone can find something here. Had the espresso martini and it was excellent. DJ was on when we got there and the staff was friendly. Was a little confused about where to sit as they had a hostess walking around but not really a host stand. Either way I'll be back!

Goldfinch is a cute place. Modern and dark (at night); it does create that great cocktail lounge ambiance where you can endlessly sip on your favorite cocktail or two as it's so relaxing. As I recollect, this used to be a crepe place which I had utilized. They did a great job turning this into a quaint cocktail lounge on the busy street of Broadway. Despite its location however, the noise from the street is completely cancelled once inside (however, I'm not sure about the patio area. We went here on a very cold winter day so the patio, of course, wasn't open. When it's a lot warmer, I'd love to sit outside and experience the outdoor environment in there. It might as relaxing as the inside.) This experience of mine was about a month or so ago (so much belated.) I had a wonderful red wine (Sangiovese or something like that) along with a pork and potato appetizer dish. That app truly complemented the wine (or the wine complemented the dish; either way, it sure was a great pairing.) There is a little DJ room where they were playing the kind if music that resonates with the whole experience and atmosphere. The lady who assisted us was very welcoming and friendly. The service was top notch. If you are looking for a quiet lounge to enjoy a good appetizer dish with a drink then this place will be your best bet (especially if you want to avoid a huge place where there are other people.) My type of place for sure.

Fun little bar with great unique drinks. Excellent staff and was well taken care of. Love the couches and lounge area. The bathrooms are also decent. The outdoor area was also nice. We just went to the LOBO block party here which was cute and fun. A little festival with some local dj's, vendors, cocktails, and local companies. Would definitely come back again soon. My friends and I had a lot of fun.

Crystal and I and our friends Mallory and Joe went here. The drinks were good and the place is a chill fun vibe inside. I would like to come back again on a regular day non event to try out their regular menu. The dj's were great and so were the servers. The couches and lounge area is a fun chill space. Definitely will come back again soon!

The Goldfinch made Westword's Top100 List for Bars in the New & Noteworthy Category and I can see why. This chic bar opened in the Platt Park area earlier in 2024 to offer a nightclub option in the area. It is also open for brunch on the weekends. Named after the owner's spirit animal, a painting of a bright yellow goldfinch holding a turquoise jeweled dream catcher atop a disco ball greets you as you walk in the door. There are hints of other southwestern decor in the many Zia symbols sprinkled throughout the open yet intimate space. There are many options for seating, and we were lucky to have the table with the plush lime green swivel chairs. A perfect spot for drinks and a conversation. We arrived for happy hour. This included Happy Wells for $7, Happy Cans for $5, Happy Wines for $8, and Special Spritzes that were off the menu. Most customers were ordering the spritzes so I went for that. Plus, our server, who was also a bartender, sold me on one he had created with falernum syrup that wasn't too sweet and went down a little too easy. The Goldfinch had a chill vibe and was a very enjoyable experience. One that I will definitely revisit.

Really cool ambiance. Service is great and the food is good! They have a great outside seating area. We had the torta and the skillet, good brunch options! The coffee also is really good!!

Nondescript entrance @back of parking lot
    Lauren K.

New-ish cocktail lounge on Broadway, entrance is a little hard to spot but it's at the back of the parking lot. Went on a Thursday evening during HH and appreciated that it wasn't empty or super crowded, and house music vibin but not so loud that it was distracting or hard to talk. They had a dj booth and the waiter mentioned they have dj sets pretty often, so would come back for that. There was an outdoor seating area too so would be nice on a summer night kinda thing. Giving 4 stars instead of 5 because the menu was a little limited/random, at least for HH. But it's a good place for a drink, date, etc.

It's absolutely authentic, but with an elevated menu that really delivers. We got the chip trio, but you almost wouldn't need it since they have a full salsa bar, including endless pico de gallo and sour cream. But the chips are thick and crunchy and delicious. I tried the taco de birria de chivo (goat) and was truly blown away. The meat is so tender and seasoned so well, you can taste the allspice in it, which is perfect for goat, and so unique to Mexican food. I also tried the al Pastor and the Carne Asada, both were also to die for. I love how they make the taco have a little bottom and give it three sides, to help us fit all the generous portion that they give. They also have several different Agua Fresca's, that you serve yourself and get unlimited refills, including Horchata. It's amazing. I've already come back another time since.

Not a big deal but they put all the tacos in one box and I was able to differentiate which 3 tacos that I ordered. This place is super stingy with salsa. They gave me 2 tiny containers for salsa and then when I asked for a couple more, the lady said she could only give me two more. :( Excited to try the food and started off great with a simple bean, cheese, and rice burrito but outside of that everything else was very meh. Not sure how but all the meats were so dry, I ordered braised/slow cooked meats (barbacoa and carnitas). Asada and pastor were okay as well. Everything lacked seasoning and the salsa didn't add much to the tacos either. Birria tacos were also dry and consommé needed salt to be added. Value was not bad at $37.64. Walk in casually as you go about your day on a sunny afternoon and have a quick Mexican food along…read morewith a refreshing Mexican beer kind of place is how I summarize this place. This long skinny establishment - not necessarily super spacious - can offer you a decent food that you can count on. You don't need anybody to go with - you can be a solo diner because this place is not intimidating in any way. It's that casual. I think this establishment was born in the old Stoney's Cantina space. Whether the place was huge enough to create two businesses (and thus La Loteria occupied half of it), I sort of saw some "remnant" of Stoney's was the impression that I got. Whatever I am correct on this or not, this casual Mex place is all about vivid pastel colored interior where red is mostly dominant. Intriguing murals on walls 360 degrees are quite impressive. Once you are inside, a huge arrow to direct the people to order to their left at the ordering counter. That ordering counter extends all the way where you'll see some bar seatings. The right side of it mostly has tables for small to large groups of people. Like I said, this place is not huge but at the same time, people don't stay long to dine; the turnover is quite quick in a way. The restaurant also gets many walk-in to-go order placers as well. I got me the Aztec Bowl for to-go. This dish is only $11 (as of early May of 2025) and is a vegetarian item. I consume a lot of vegetarian diet and yet my instinct loudly spoke to me to add some protein to it. Whether or not you can keep it non-meat to stay in the vegetarian zone, adding some protein to this dish is a must as if it was by itself, it would be a bit boring because it only has some greens and some slices of avocado. As the add-on, I got me the carne asada ($5.00) that comes with rice. Not bad.. I didn't eat it right after I got home; I meant to get it to eat it the next day which I did (this AM.) It was still fresh where nothing tasted stale. The carne asada was well-cooked with seasonings. In other words, it wasn't salty at all but held good flavors. Now on the receipt, I saw a charge of what's called "takeout service fee" which is 18%. I kind of assumed that this was mostly the mandatory gratuity. At the end of the card transaction, I remember that the different gratuity percentages were listed on the machine and they were quite small because of this fee. It'll be up to you to add more if you wish. Some people might complaint about this mandated system and yet I kind of understand that businesses nowadays must survive by navigating through the rising cost of living. As we have seen our favorite businesses disappear in the recent years, I am here to support them by whatever I could within my power. Whereas the parking on Broadway is a pain in the neck at any time of the day, if I think of a casual Mexican dining in the Baker neighborhood next time, I may stop by here. It's a good establishment to know.

I mean seriously!! They care about their customers that get satisfied with their service and meals. And it does draw a very diverse crowd from the Hispanics to Caucasians to Asians, I mean you name it. They also get a lot of to-go orders. Some people came in, grabbed their food and went on their way for the night. My friend got the Torta Los Carboncito. This is a massive sandwich with plenty of meat inside. Since the menu has colored picofor almost each item, what caught my attention was the fish dish. There are two of them: one is trout and the other is something else (I forgot) but I got me the non-trout one. The lady asked me if I wanted the flour or corn tortillas so I went with the corn one. As soon as I got home, my late night snacking started. I only took several bites out of that whatever the huge fish. And oh my goodness, it was so delicious! Well-seasoned with very light salt. Although I mainly got it for tomorrow morning/lunch I had a hard time quit eating because of its deliciousness. Extremely welcoming staff (I even met the owner, Alex as he was dining with his family), quality food and value pricing, this place checks out for the hidden gem restaurant that's not necessarily super fancy but it's worth every penny and time. I grabbed a seat at the bar where the bartender was friendly and engaging. On a recent Wednesday at 7:15, the restaurant was packed. When I left around 8:30, it was still busy. That's usually the best review a restaurant can get. Loyal customers don't keep coming back out of habit. They come back because it feels like home. The all-day happy hour margarita for $9 certainly doesn't hurt. The second one arrives before you've had time to argue yourself out of it. I ordered the enchiladas with carne asada and their house mole. If you're expecting one of those intensely complex moles with enough ingredients to fill a pantry, this isn't that. Adelitas' version is comforting, approachable, and deeply homey. It tastes less like a culinary experiment and more like something your abuela has been making for decades. The carne asada was tender, the rice and beans were exactly what they should be, and every bite reminded me why comfort food never goes out of style. Before leaving, I made the smartest decision of the evening. Tres leches to go. I devoured it later at home while Netflix asked if I was still watching. The cake somehow manages to be light while completely satisfying. Don't skip it. Better yet, don't pretend you're saving it for tomorrow. Adelitas isn't trying to impress you. It's trying to feed you well, welcome you warmly, and send you home happier than when you arrived. Whether your abuela was Mexican...or Greek...you'll understand exactly what they're serving here.
