onion rings. He raved about that sandwich the rest of the day. He lived the beef and mushrooms! The onion rings are a winner, too! My only gripe was that the floors were sticky. I hate sticky floors and there's no excuse, since we were the first customers of the day. Otherwise, we had a great meal and service was perfect! We'll be back. Parking is limited in their lot but there is adjacent street parking. There are a few tables outside, too, where you can have your dog. A ramp inside makes the place totally accessible. They offer a table full of games if you want to sit and play.

Shrimp Po Boy was out of the park good! My sis had the tenderloin and said it was the best she's ever had. Light breading and cool taste the meat. Service great and engaged. Will definitely stop in again.

Wings are my favorite food, period. While I'm not exactly picky on how they are prepared, I have strong opinions on what makes a good wing or not. Hometown is Jacksonville, FL; lived in Atlanta for several years--my point being, I have had outstanding wings over the years. I preface this way because The Good Spot has the best wings in Indianapolis, and probably the best in the state. The quality of the chicken is very high and undeniable when you take the first bite (the marrow doesn't lie either). I had 6x three-pepper hot and 6x buffalo garlic, and The Good Spot nailed the light breading-to-sauce ratio (very rare to see). They remind me of how classic Hooters wings used to taste in the 90s, but honestly they might be better. The sauces are flavorful as hell while bringing plenty of heat, and frankly I got two pretty standard flavors. They have a wide range of sauces available on the menu (including Vindaloo) and I'm looking forward to trying more. These wings are of a substantial size with enough breading to trap the flavor and moisture, and the cook on the chicken itself was literally perfect. I don't have enough good things to say about my plate of 12. My wife, daughter and I moved to a nearby neighborhood recently, and it's music to my ears that The Good Spot welcomes families. We will certainly be coming up to watch some basketball over dinner and drinks as we get into March Madness. Finally, the owner is incredibly attentive to detail--directly involved in the food prep and service, and clearly takes pride in the quality of the food served at his establishment. My server/bartender was outstanding as well, providing great recommendations and information as I navigated the menu. I'm fairly new to town, but I've tried a lot of wings in Indy already. Ale Emporium has a big following here, not undeserved, but the wings at The Good Spot are better--no doubt in my mind.

The building sits on the corner. They have a parking lot but I parked on the street. I was greeted when I walked in. The waitress was very polite. I placed a to go order. I was excited that they offered vegetarian options. I ordered the vegan Philly cheese steak and chili cheese fries with vegan chili. I was hesitant to eat it because it smelled like real meat but I was assured that it was the vegetarian option. Being that I haven't eaten meat in over 10 years, you could see why I was a little nervous eating this. The fries didn't look like regular chili cheese fries. It was meat and no chili. The food was made to order so it was hot and fresh. It was definitely flavorful. I'd definitely go back to support this business but will opt for something else.

The restaurant is so clean and bright on the inside. The people that work there were helpful and friendly. The food was freshly made and came out piping hot. We will definitely be back. My friends and I stopped in here for lunch the other day and had fun together, but it was mixed reviews about our visit. We arrived shortly after they opened and only one other table was seated (two women who parked and walked in right before us). The bar tender/server told us to sit wherever we liked. We sat and looked over the QR code menu for some time before she came over and brought us real menus and asked what we wanted to drink. I asked if they had any Prosecco and she said no and didn't elaborate on anything similar they may have, so I asked what they did have and she went and got us a drink menu. They have a cocktail called The Aya that has brut champagne in it, so I was a little confused why that wasn't offered as an alternative to no Prosecco. One friend and I each ordered that since we love French 75s and that seemed to be the Good Spot's take on it. The drink was quite good, also strong, but came out in a rocks glass with a bunch of ice which was super weird. For food, I ordered a double cheeseburger with sweet potato fries, one friend ordered a double cheeseburger and seasonal veggies, and my other friend ordered a flatbread. The flatbread came out 10+ minutes before the cheeseburgers, so she awkwardly waited until our food came out before eating because she didn't want to be rude. It took an hour for the food to come out in general, which again was strange because we were the second table seated and more people started coming in later on, well after our food order was put in. When it came time to pay I saw that our cocktail we ordered was $19! Absolutely insane for a dive bar. The food was good, the cocktail was good, but the price point on the cocktail was way too high and the wait time was too long. I think they are probably better to stop in for dinner and beers, so I would come back again to see if that's a better experience.

I'm conflicted with this review. Did a to-go order. I came for the Parmesan Garlic wings, but was given the wrong order so I have to review what I got. The wings are HUGE and very crispy. Top notch frying technique. It took 40 minutes to get my food, as they had a mix up in the kitchen, but the bartender was nice about it. The wings are very good, but I couldn't help but he disappointed that I had to wait so long and got the wrong food.

The fact that I haven't written a review before now, is shame on me! And if I have-it's ok because I love this place and I could write about it all day. One of Indy's hidden gems, the Good Spot is theee SPOT! A small place with a lot to offer, you won't be disappointed when you pull up a seat. This has become kinda our weekly spot for wings and things. Consistently delivering some of the best wings I've had in Indy. But don't stop there, try their burgers, their fried pickles, their tots, the pizza, their chocolate cake-anything on their menu is going to be delicious! I've had a variety of items and although we usually get wings, I haven't not loved everything I've tried. The owners know what they're doing here! The kitchen staff holds it down! Sarah our favorite server, knows our regulars! She knows what we're going to order before we get settled in our seats. The team makes us feel welcome every time we come in. I love the atmosphere here. You can grab a board game or a deck of cards to play while you're waiting for your food. Or pull up to the bar and watch one of three screens for games and chill. We finally tried the Good Spot!! We have always rode past it but never landed on eating dinner there. We stay super close to there and heard great things from one of our friends. We tried the wings (they were a little bigger than I liked) and the buffalo salad. The salad was decent! The sauces on the wings were really good. We love that the hours are open late! Def helpful and we had good service that night. I thought it was super cute that they had board games and stuff in there. I'd say the music can turn up louder to make it more chill :)

Back again and I swear it's so good and it does hit the spot! I had my ole faithful the Manhattan and it never disappoints I tried something different with it the Cole slaw.. let me tell you it was so juicy and flavorful the hubby had the BLT and I knew it was good because he didn't speak the entire time we were eating.. the service is always good and as far as the atmosphere you know it's good when you walk in and they're playin Mary J and Prince it's something about good food and good music it just makes the food digest so well!

This is a great place for all. You can take the kids, coworkers, have an after work drink. The ambience is a vibe, the have games, great music, and great service. Our food was amazing and at affordable price. I will definitely go again. But dont take my word for it go check them out.

We accidentally stumbled on The Good Spot after a show at the Hi-Fi Annex and let me tell you, this is indeed a good spot! Our server was nice and since it was our first time visiting, advised us of their specials - we went with chili cheese fries and they were perfect! I would love to come back, they have board games to play and a full bar, very welcoming atmosphere and decent prices!

Fantastic! The sauce & slaw used on the po boy made the difference. I hate Cole slaw but you can't have this sandwich without it. The flavor was unreal. Even the onion rings were flavorful and seasoned well. The fried pickles with the G sauce was phenomenal. I come to Indy once a year and this will be my go to spot every year moving forward.

My coworker and I stopped by here for lunch today. The parking lot and building are a bit on the smaller side. My coworker has been here before and ordered the Manhattan. I ordered the Good Spot Burger. The food didn't take too long which was good as we only have an hour break. The food tasted very good! The check did take a while but it seemed like there was only one or two servers. Overall I would either order ahead in the future or ask for check when we get food to make sure we get back on time! read more

We're new to the area and when we asked our maintenance guy about places to eat, he said this place had the best tenderloin he's ever had. I had the catfish dinner which was great, and got a side cole slaw and crispy fries. My partner had the tenderloin sandwich and agreed that it was pretty good. He also tried the PB&J cocktail which came in a small glass that seemed more like a shot. It was weird but good and definitely tasted like a PB&J. Fun new "Good Spot" on the near East side. I went with a group the other night and it has a nice casual vibe. They do breakfast thru dinner with a nice variety of options. Everything from wings, burgers, tenderloins , flatbreads and salads. I tried the hummus appetizer which was tasty as well as the veggie flatbread. I enjoyed the flatbread but I thought the crust was a bit thick. Of course the person next to me had the same and preferred the thicker crust so there you go, just personal preference. I asked for a beer recommendation and tried the 3 Floyd's Zombie. Worth it because of the name but really enjoyed it. Everyone enjoyed their choices and the raspberry cheesecake and Carmel cake really seemed to be winners. Staff was very welcoming and took great care of us. There are also lots of tv's so come watch your favorite event. This is a nice addition to the neighborhood so come support it. read more

I have been here quite a few times to pickup orders for Uber eats or DoorDash. Each time the customer service has been wonderful, the people there not only know how to make you feel welcome. On top of that the restaurant is always clean. Trying the Good Spot has been on my list of places I'd like to try for a while. I finally got the chance to do so about two ago with my family. We had fried pickles, onion rings and chili cheese tater tots as our appetizers that we shared amongst our group of 12. Everything was good, but next time I would like more chili and queso on the tater tots. When it comes to my burger; it was juicy, seasoned well, and even the bacon was crispy. Even my toddler was trying to get it, as I went to take a picture. As you can see above. Next time I visit the good spot I will opt for the onion rings instead the macaroni. Outside of that I do recommend anyone who's looking to support small local businesses to check The Good Spot out. read more

My dad came across The good spot looking for a 1/2 way point to meet (I live in OH). My youngest has recently started eating tenderloins and this is what popped up. 3 out of the 5 got the tenderloin and my Very picky 6 yo said it was the best tenderloin EVER! My dad got the beef tips and I got the shrimp po' boy. Definitely high quality food at an excellent price point. Very clean and a great family atmosphere. I had a staycation recently. And by the time I got hungry it was so late I was sure everything was closed. However the good spot was open and had one of my favorites. Po'boys. It was really good. Shrimp was perfectly fried. And there wasn't an excess of mayo I ordered over the phone and was able to come right in and out to get my food. It was still warm when I got it. This was my first visit to The Good Spot. I highly recommend the Mushroom and Swiss burger. The actual burger was prepared perfectly and had tons of flavor! The mushrooms and onions we caramelized, but not burned and added to the flavor of the burger. Great selection of libations and fabulous service too boot. read more

The wings were extra crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The fried pickles with the G sauce is amazing. The sauce needs to be bottled up and on the shelves. It's that good! The fried catfish was fried to perfection and seasoned so well. The flatbread pizza was fresh and delicious. That pork tenderloin sandwich was seasoned to perfection. Even the bread was perfectly toasted, and it tasted amazing. The salmon po-boy was extra flavorful with the special sauce and the fried salmon. It's a beautiful take on the po-boy with the right balance of high-quality ingredients and a delicious sauce. It's quite popular as well. The hog wings had a beautiful crunch and so much flavor. It is a seasonal G spot feature, and it's quite popular as well. The turkey bacon club was delicious as well. The customer service was outstanding, including the owner, who took time to check in with guests. There wasn't a long wait. Staff are attentive and hospitable. The restaurant and bathroom were clean. The chef was incredible and really understood flavor profiles and how to combine and balance flavors. 10 out of 10, I do recommend! read more

This was my first time visiting this spot and I must say... the food was excellent. The catfish was seasoned nicely and the salmon melt sandwich melted in my mouth. Delicious! Shout out to owner Omar for catering to us and working the grill like a pro. Two phrases come to mind. Don't sleep on this spot, and all good things come to those who wait. This is clearly a fledgling business; so, cut them a little slack on speed. That said, the service is friendly and on point. And the FOOD!!! Delicious! I had the Manhattan. I've had a million of them in my 50 plus years, but this one... they used grilled garlic toast vs the soggy white bread I've had everywhere else. This is the way it should be done. We were also asked if we would be interested in trying a "hog wing" they were considering adding to the menu. A BBQ rib tip type thing... DELICIOUS!!! If they add it, get it! My husband and I decided to try this place on a Saturday at about 3:30. I called to place an order and was told 20 minutes. I ordered a BLT, nachos, and a side of hush puppies. I arrived 25-30 minutes after I had called to place the order (assuming my order would be ready). No one else was in the restaurant and I was told to just take a seat anywhere. I said I was here for a pick up order. I got a really confused look back. Turns out when I called and placed the order the lady that took my order, forgot to tell the gentleman who makes the food. Her response was that he was gone when I called and she forgot to tell him he had an order when he got back. I finally received my food at 4:10 after calling to place the order at 3:25. I thought the food would redeem the service....but it did not. I doubt we will be back. The BLT had literally 2 full strips of bacon (4 half strips), and the lettuce was way beyond the safe to serve point. It was turning brown and it was slimey! My husband got nachos. They had a vegetarian chili and a beef chili. He choose beef chili. What he received was not chili. It was literally standard taco meat, should have had pico but that was missing too. They literally slapped some ground beef, nacho cheese, sour cream, and jalapeños on some chips and called it nachos. And don't even get us started on the serving size. The Good Spot is the spot to be at!! Went with my boyfriend on a Thursday night for dinner and the food was amazing! We got the wings and Cheeseburger with fries and it did not disappoint. We had an amazing lunch. We shared the hog wings and fried pickles to start. Both were delicious but the fried pickles were some of the best I've ever had - not greasy and perfectly dill. Then I had the Salmon po' boy - so flavorful with sweet, spice, and crunch. My husband had the hot dogs which were excellent and my son had the Philly Cheesesteak which was also excellent. It had been before the pandemic since my last time in Indianapolis and much has changed on the city's dining and drinking landscape. Following a recommendation from a bartender at Sundry & Vice, I made my way to BODHI. I didn't have reservations, which I'd strongly recommend, since the place was packed on Wednesday night before 6PM. Fortunately, I was able to snag a seat at the bar, which was ideal since I was dining solo. Upon scanning the hip, high-energy, yet petite dining room, I had a sense of deja vu about it before realizing that I had been in this space before back when it was Black Market. I started off with a cocktail from Bodhi's intriguing and expansive drink list, a 7 Realms of Happiness, made with Old Hamer Bourbon, Faccia Brutto Centerbe, Cappelletti amaro, saffron honey, and lemon. My thought was that it's their twist on a classic Whiskey Smash. It was bittersweet, yet balanced, and simply a delight. As for the food, BODHI's menu is concise hitting the most of the Thai food usual suspects. I had the Papaya Salad and the Shrimp Green Curry. The papaya salad came out first. I was pleasantly surprised by its plating, looking much more like an elaborate entree with its cashews, watermelon radish, and chicharrones than the humble side salad atop a leaf of lettuce or cabbage that I've usually received at virtually every Thai restaurant I've ever been. It was just a pretty plate as it tasted even better than it looked. It was fresh and flavorful as those flavors popped from the perfect balance of salty, sweet, sour, spicy, and funky. It was the best rendition of a papaya salad that I've tasted. My bowl of curry was no less successful in balancing those diverse Thai flavor profiles. Unlike some/many other curries I've had where it seems like a bowl full of sauce with bits and pieces of protein or vegetables, Bodhi's rendition achieved the perfect "solids to sauce" ratio. The shrimp were cooked to perfection and the curry itself was bold and bright on my tongue. It was a delicious spoonful. I loved it! For "dessert", I had a second cocktail, the Garnet, a booze-forward whisky drink made with Mars Iwai Tradition, Pinhook Rye, Akashi Ume Plum whisky, Veda Mushroom Liqueur, Balsamic Vermouth, celery & orange bitters, and topped with a Moon Smoke Bubble. It was very unique, tasty and satisfying, if not a bit difficult to describe. I would maybe compare it to an Asian-influenced Vieux Carre and I thought it was excellent. Service from Carli, the bartender, was stellar throughout my night as she was friendly, helpful and exceedingly outstanding in making my drinks. A definite rock star! BODHI was outstanding. I'm not sure how to best describe the place. Was it as an amazing Thai restaurant that also does incredible cocktails or an amazing cocktail bar that also does killer Thai food? Regardless, I could not have enjoyed my experience more. If/when I'm back in Indy, BODHI is at the top of my list for a visit!

Self service approach (after you order, they drop the food off at your table but they have water, utensils & napkins available for you--Kind of like Flower Child in Nora). Definitely hipster vibes. Plenty of open spaces to fill across from Center Point Brewing. LOTs of construction going on in the surrounding building at the up and coming Factory Arts District. Didn't seem to stop people from working there remotely though. It was nice to go on a Monday afternoon while there was plenty of parking in the lot although there is street parking nearby as well.

Literally the best bisque I've ever had. Service was superb. The steak was cooked to perfection. The creamed spinach was phenomenal. I recommend this place to everyone I know when I hear they will be in Indianapolis.

It is conveniently located on the 2nd floor of The InterContinental hotel. The host stand for the restaurant is located directly across from what appeared to be the guest check-in desk. It was a little confusing. Several of the items on the menu were very appealing, the B&B Omelet, Croque Monsieur, and Ribeye French Dip to name a few, but I opted for the Little Gem Caesar with Blackened Salmon. My husband ordered The Traveler with eggs over-medium. Everything was perfectly prepared. The proportions for the salad were just right and the salmon was juicy, flavorful and crisp from the blackening. My husband wasn't expecting the somewhat unique preparation of the breakfast potatoes, but I found them to be satisfyingly crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. I also ordered the seasonal Strawberry Margarita with a sugar rim. It was light and refreshing. The atmosphere is very chic, stylish and feels very upscale. The dining room, and even the restrooms, boast this amazing natural light from all of the great, big windows! Our server, Roop, was kind and attentive and the hostess was warm and inviting. We will definitely return to try some of the other offerings in the future. Very cute brunch spot!

Even the waitress mentioned she prefers it with ketchup and cheese. We have been here before and remember it being much better, which made this visit a little disappointing. Service was solid. We had no wait at 7:30 on a Saturday, the food came out quickly, and our waitress was friendly and helpful. The ambiance is still a big plus here. The space looks great inside and out, and the location along the river is hard to beat. It was a little chilly when we went, but on a warm day sitting outside would be ideal, especially with live music.

This new restaurant near downtown is a diamond in the rough! The food is amazing and the service is great. I had nachos with vegetarian chili (I appreciate that they have vegetarian options) and my grandson had a chili cheese burger and fries. We gobbled it down before remembering to take pics! Lol my grandson gives this place two thumbs up and so do I. I would recommend this business to anyone. If you want a nice casual restaurant where you will be greeted with a smile AND the food is good AND the service is great, this is your place! read more
