A…read morememorable event begins with the supreme counter staff helping you navigate their menu and prepare the best coffee/espresso drinks (most important for me). The friendly staff and engaging owners make this a very unique and inviting cafe (a close second). The fantastic fresh Made-To-Order inventive sandwiches along with the decadent pastries (I admit, are equal to coffee), and then the bomb of never-ending discoveries in this fantastic gift 'emporium'--on top of that, they are ANIMAL FRIENDLY!! We saw some of the cutest pups, but only got pics of one. All of this flowing seamlessly together makes this place one of a kind. This is a fantastic breakfast brunch spot with a quiet and inviting atmosphere. The Cafe has a nostalgic feel, with comfy & cozy retro style seating and large solid wood tables scattered about a uniquely eclectic gift shop. The blackberry scone was exceptional, so we asked the counter staff about it. We were told that the baked treats--along with bread loaves that are sold to local establishments--are made by the owner's wife, Elaine Kelvie, downstairs in the bakery (baked goods available in the counter display case on main floor). She even took the time to go downstairs and alert her that we loved her baked creations, and would like to meet her. Elaine came upstairs and introduced herself to us, while we praised her for our delightful cinnamon roll and blackberry scone. The other owner, her husband Bill Kelvie, who had made my delicious roast beef and pepper jack on toasted rye, came out from the back and introduced himself to us. He told us a little bit about the other shop they own in the historic building, the neighboring Gate City Gift & Gallery. Get this--the owner who made our great food, his MOTHER works/runs that neighboring Gift & Gallery shop. These are wonderful friendly people. We marveled at the many curious gifts that surrounded us while we sat and enjoyed our food. After finishing our indulgent meals, we began rummaging through the never-ending discoveries. Fascinated by the unique treasures that constantly drew us to their other massive gift and antiques shop next door. There's some really cool canvasses by local artists hanging for sale in there. I could not even see it all because It's two stories, with some unique clinics consigning space on the second floor, and climbing the spiraling stairs to up, would be an exhausting adventure for me, but WE took pictures for you. This wonderful Cafe and it's neighboring shop are a Must-Go-To. Check the photos.

Some reach for the best internet cafe vibe, while others strettchhh to be like Bru House Galilei. It takes a few left turns navigating one-way streets to get there, and parking can result in a little bit of a walk, but that's a minimal price for the reward. Being a corner building gives It full opportunity to be creative with a branching layout, with sidewalk seating on the W. Wyeth side. As soon as we walked through the door on N. Main, the calm of the dimly lit maze set on us like a warm blanket. With just enough windows and glass doors here and there to let in light, which shows paths to the cozy little intimate tuck aways of seating. The walls invited our eyes, busy with canvasses (which you can purchase) by local artists. The art is great, but I was pretty hungry and in need of caffeine!, so I decided to let photos talk about the art. Scanning the display case of some fresh and tasty looking goodies, and taking a look at the brief Made-To-Order breakfast menu, we decided on some food, and coffees. Taimee and Michael were ready to make this experience an undeniable "the best" contender. They are truly "Top-Shelf" staff. Taimee, the knowledgeable and quick one was gone lickity split--back in their little kitchen nook cooking up our eggs and other breakfast items. Meanwhile Michael's adept barista skills crafted us some wonderful, rich and nutty coffee & espresso drinks. With several areas to sit, at sturdy tables all showcasing stories, we decided on the main step-up, railed "overlook lounge." Sitting by a front window gave us a good view throug the place while we ate. I never knew a little nook kitchen, using counter-top appliances could borne a chef! The food Taimee made back there was neat and well presented. Most importantly it tasted fantastic! Quality fresh-cracked egg, meaty & tasty sausage, topped by a nippy cheese on an english muffin--"The Sunrise Breakfast Sandwich," followed by the most amazing and unique bread pudding I have ever eaten. It's made in-house by one of them bright and early. Michael being the cordially smooth front-face one, gave us some history of the place, and guided me back to take some vid-pics of the "postage stamp kitchen." I left there knowing that Bru House is the one to beat! Thanx for reading. Pictures say a thousand words.

And of course the speed is not everything, but I know that if I am in a hurry and just want a simple coffee I can, yes overpay, it is all pricey since 2018 no matter what you do, but compared to getting any other beverage you are not making yourself it is not bad, and I feel like there is a service and sense of urgency which lacks at some other drive thru places nearby. Now if I had time and I may had travelled further, but for a simple place they work fast enough for my needs. I also stopped inside couple times with friends and it was great. As far as the food is concerned I think, I got something extra simple which is hard to spoil so I can not judge. I'd check some coffee places downtown for better food choices (I do not mean better priced though;).
