The gyro was just ok and the meat was quite dry. They forgot the dressing on my wife's Greek salad. The Lentil soup was good. Visited The Greeks for the first time tonight. We had a delicious dinner and dined in. There is a takeout space attached to the dining room. I had the falafel platter which was amazing! Very tasty and reasonably priced. It came with Greek salad, choice of starch and 5 large falafel balls. So disappointing after anticipating a good Greek meal. Very few people were here since it was early, but we waited and waited for our food. After at least 1/2 hr, we finally inquired about how much longer, the waitress checked and said that the cook hadn't started cooking the chicken yet. We said we'd wait for the chicken. Absolutely amazing. We had seen this place on our previous LP visit and had to try as our local Greek restaurant had closed and left a hole in our hearts. Greeks ADK absolutely filled that hole with delicious-ness and love. We got it to-go to eat at the campsite and it was still phenomenal. Loved this spot. We were looking for something different and it had good reviews. Town was really busy and surprisingly these guys were not overly busy. We got a table right away and the food was quick and excellent. There is no kids menu but they were quick to offer smaller portions. My kids inhaled the chicken and rice. During eclipse weekend they were busy as ever but did an amazing job filling takeout orders AND they let you order online. I think we got one of their last orders of the night! We devoured their gyros that were absolutely stuffed with pork, french fries, feta, tzatziki, tomato and onion! I'm a sucker for a gyro stuffed with fries. The food smelled amazing but there are only a few tables in the restaurant and it was very busy with people ordering takeout. We paid to park and then got to the restaurant and realized it was more of a take-out establishment so we forfeited our parking because there wasn't another restaurant in walking distance that appealed to us. The greek is a very small restaurant that appears to be recently opened. It has onstreet parking and is located within the town limits. It appears to do a lot of take-out but we were able to find an open seat. Interior was limited but clean. I got the falaffel platter with lemon potatoes. The side salad was delicous and the falaffel was okay but fairly dry. I think tzatziki sauce would have worked great because the hummus didn't help with the dryness. A friend recommended the lemon potatoes but I would have preferred fries. My son got a gyro and the lemon chicken soup which he enjoyed. This place was approximately $30-35 for the two of us. I considered this reasonable in relation to Lake Placid pricing. Overall, it was a good quick stop. read more

Our first stop at Lake Placid, we had gyro wrap, the special lamb dish, chicken with rice, grilled cheese and meatball soup. What a treat it was! The food was so good that we decided to come the next day, but were greeted by a sign saying food was sold out. The owner saw us and packed up the last bit of the meatball soup. This was a very pleasant surprise with fresh food, great taste and overall will exceed expectations for quality and taste, this is definitely a real chef creating this food. I had a chicken gyro and my wife had the chicken platter, which the chicken was extremely tender, juicy and flavorful which is often an issue with chicken breast, especially the juicy and not dry texture. The sauces on my gyro were different and in a good way, and all vegetables were very fresh and tomatoes seemed to be farm fresh. My wife also had the Greek meatball soup which she loved. We split the Greek fries which were hand cut and sliced on the thinner side and very crunchy. We also ordered the Greek wings appetizer (yes we over ordered) extra crispy with sauces on the side and they were exceptional. Very fresh tasting. This was our stand out in Lake Placid. Simple Greek food done very well. I had chicken souvlaki. My husband the pork gyro. The pork gyro sounds unusual, but it was very, very tasty. My chicken souvlaki was a bunch of grilled chicken on a huge bed of rice and a nice size side salad with grilled chicken, red peppers, imported, feta, imported olives, tomato and cucumber. and a homemade dressing. It was such a good value at $15. I had enough for both lunch and dinner. We also had the hummus and pita appetizer.
