I've heard a fair number of people mention this place as a great place to get a sandwich, so I've wanted to try it for a while ... but I've never been motivated to come here intentionally vs. stopping by when I happen to be on this side of town. Well, I finally find myself out this direction during their operating hours and stopped in for lunch. I decided to do a pick 2 combo with a half sandwich and half salad - I got the Ciabatta Bing! grilled panini and an italian salad, to go because I just didn't wanna sit in a gas station eating my lunch. Usually just get their coffee and banana bread. Which is good. But today I tried their grab n go breakfast sandwich.....they say they make them fresh everyday. This is definitely not the case when there's this much black mold on it. I did get my money back, but that because I work close by and can walk back over. I'm giving 3 stars only because I love the girls that work the convenient store. Super friendly! I won't be getting any more food from the cafe part. read more

Absolutely disappointed. It's in a gas station. The floors are dirty, and I should've walked out after I noticed the prices were higher than posted on yelp. Apparently this tiny "scramble" is worth over $10. It was not. This was a $6 gas station breakfast scramble where you paid extra for the smile service. Not worth it. I won't be coming back for a second time. If I'm driving by and hungry again I'll just go to Taco John's next door. read more

I can't speak to anything but breakfast here, but it is probably my favorite for the food and service in town. The gas station location doesn't make a high dining ambiance. No problem as I come out of my way here to eat. Pleasant people, a wide range of options and fair prices. Just stopped to get gas - wasn't expecting to find this hidden gem! But it was lunch time too... so I stood in the line - 10 people deep (that's how you know it's good folks). I grabbed a Reuben, some chips, and a drink all for less than $10. The wait was very reasonable too - I was in an out of the gas station restaurant in 10 minutes with a hot sandwich. Greenlight Cafe is one of Fort Collins's best kept secrets. At first I was skeptical given its location in a Mobil station, but you quickly move past that once you realize their food is delicious and they use fresh, quality ingredients. Unfortunately, I could not sing the same praises as my predecessors. The biscuits and gravy was satisfying; however, the double order is served in a large, (cold) ceramic bowl that immediately reduced the temperature to just below lukewarm. My over-easy eggs fell into the medium-hard spectrum, and were cooked at such a high temperature that all exposed areas of the whites were crisped. The scrambled eggs prepared for my son, however, were unrecognizable as such. Looking more like tofu scramble, they sat untouched for the first time in four years. All would not be lost, but the coffee was dispensed from an industrial Keurig. (Not bad tasting, but it doesn't have the rich flavor worthy of skipping it at home.) On the other hand, the kitchen was impeccably clean and professionally run by a wonderful team -- I just wish I had more to write home about. read more

What an unexpected surprise in a Mobil gas station. We were in the area and checked Yelp for a lunch spot and The Green Light Cafe came up. It only had 11reviews but 5 stars so we thought we'd try it out. The menu had great sandwiches and salads. We split the strawberry and spinach salad (special that day) and the Green Light Gobbler grilled panini. Both were fantastic. My husband also had a cup of tomato bisque soup, which he said was very tasty. The food was fresh and flavorful. They are a bakery as well and the baked goods looked great. They gave us each a tiny soft sugar frosted cookie and they were yummy! The staff were all super friendly and doing a great job. Definitely a great lunch place. We want to go back for breakfast and try the breakfast burrito, we heard they are amazing. read more

Don't let the exterior of this place be the reason to not eat there as it's in a convenient store. The food was amazing here and so was the service. We were cheerfully greeted by one of the ladies at the register. We ordered the climber omelette and biscuits and gravy. Both were so good, fresh, and flavorful! Easily the best tasting food in this business park area. Not too impressed with the nearby coffee shop, Good Times or Taco Johns which makes this place a natural shoo in for me. The Green Light Cafe is also housed with Zoom Mart, a gas station. Normally I don't review restaurants inside gas stations because it is just another restaurant chain which does not offer anything new. I make an exception here because Green Light deserves the recognition and is not a chain. For those of you who may not have been here, here is how the ordering works... You place your order at the counter and then pay at the Zoom Mart registers and then go back to the cafe and wait for your order to come. If you want a fountain drink you get it from the Zoom Mart soda fountains. If you want to tip the people who make your food you go back to the end of the cafe's counter and there is a jar there. All of that can be a bit confusing. There are plenty of places to sit after you get your food so sit back and enjoy. The cafe offers a variety of sandwiches, soups and more. I ordered The Special which was a panini which was pretty good! They also make pastries that you can have but you also get a green light sugar cookie that comes with your meal. GLC (Green Light Cafe) is delicious! The gals there are super friendly and so helpful, and the food is great from their breakfast options (pulled pork quesadillas, and biscuits & gravy) to their lunchtime menu. Believe you me, it is NOT GAS STATION FOOD at all whatsoever - everything they make is fresh!! I work around the corner from this place and just love having it as an option for breakfast and lunch since there is not much for food/restaurant choices. Their bakery choices are limited, but wonderful too - try the Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Almond cookie...my favorite!! The only thing that I would complain about is the prices of the sandwiches. Although they are delicious, it's hard to dish out $7-8.00 for a sandwich (not including chips or a drink). Make the $8.00 worthwhile and pile on the goods for the sandwiches and make the meal deal under $9.00 (especially if you get the good $8 sandwiches). read more
