Love the Eagle location but live closer to this one so we stopped in for brunch. The Bloody Mary was delicious. Not my favorite biscuits and gravy but wasn't bad. My partner and I were a tad distracted by what appeared to be a manager or maybe owner bossing around/scolding some staff. read more

I'm from Califorinia and came to visit my best friend in January 2021. I came back for another visit and begged her to take me again. We went and the Eggs Benedict wasn't great. Everything else was perfect. I had the savory crepes and OMGEEEEEEE! So yummy! Their orange juice is like no other. So totally to die for!!! I'm flying back today and asked my friend to go back for breakfast. The waitress was a SWEETHEART and when we told her about the Eggs Benedict she profusely apologized. She brought out our food and once again it was UHHHmazing! When we went to pay she said since the Eggs Benedict on Saturday morning wasn't great, she did not charge us for our meal! I'm completely enamored by this place. Beyond friendly staff, a nice environment where they greet you warmly and when you leave they tell you goodbye! And BEYOND amazing food! Love, love, love this restaurant! If you are looking for a spot to have some great morning food, look no further than The Griddle. Be warned, this place is no longer a secret in the valley which means that there will be a bit of a wait but it is so worth it. Personally, I recommend trying their Breakfast Croissant which is an egg, ham, and cheese croissant-style sandwich. This will give you enough room to try one of their dessert style breakfast which includes their Peach Crepes. Highly recommend this yummy goodness. Guaranteed great customer service, your coffee cup will not be empty longer than two minutes (it's almost like they know when you need a refill). If we could give it no stars we would. Let's start with the customer service. The hostess was delightful with a sweet smile and attitude. A definite plus. It was a very busy day due to the holiday today. There was quite a wait. It would have been faster if they had staff to clear tables as soon as people left. Our waiter was prompt to come to our table as soon as we sat down, but it rapidly went downhill from there. He got our drink order wrong and blamed us for him not bringing it because he never heard us order it, even though he repeated it back to us. We waited over 35 minutes for our basic breakfast dishes. They were wrong as well. The food was lukewarm at best. We requested super crispy hash browns, they were barely brown and luke warm with no flavor. One order that was requested to have no dairy came covered in cheese. Another server took it back as our server didn't even bring it out. We literally had to flag him down to get a coffee refill. He did refill the tables around us, but totally ignored our table. He was too busy chatting with the next table about star wars helmets, etc. We asked for jam for our toast and muffin and never got it. His attitude bordered on rude. His name is Ray. There was not any follow up to see if we needed anything. We have tried the Griddle before. We hoped this time would be better...sadly this time was way worse. We will not be back. For 40.00 for two breakfasts and two coffees...is not a good value for your money. It was probably one of my worst dining experiences that we have had. Not a bad place at all, but not the best in town. Only reason I came here was because Moe Joe's down the street had a 40 minute wait, while this place had no wait. Atmosphere / interior vibe inside is alright, can get a little loud at times, definitely not as cozy as Moe Joe's (IMO). Although there was no wait time, the service was slow, specifically when waiting for the food. The waitress and the younger guy we had serving us drinks & food were very nice and friendly. The food was alright, portions were kind of small for the price, and I wish they served country style potatoes rather than shredded hash browns, since the hashbrowns felt a little too greasy / rich after you ate them. One specialty item I ordered was the Blueberry pancakes (specialty because they only serve them on Sundays), and they were pretty good, although I wish they were served with some kind of blueberry or mixed berry type of syrup rather than maple (or maybe I had to request that?) and with built in walnuts or some other kind of nuts. I think the part I enjoyed most here was their cappuccino and latte (ordered both to compare). Still doesn't compare to the Konditorei Restaurant in Sun Valley OR Flying M Coffee Garage in Nampa, but the cappuccino here was kinda up there IMO. Also, the friendliness of the people here was one of the bigger pros for me. An area of improvement that would be nice to see is the reduced wait time for the food. Made me question if the no wait time for seating but the long wait time for food was even faster than just sitting it out in Moe Joes. Overall, can't give this place a 3 since in reality this place wasn't bad at all and I don't think that's fair, but can't give this place a 5 either, since I'm kind of stingy when giving out 5s. However, adding up the friendly service, the really good cappuccino, the pretty good blueberry pancakes, and the no wait time to sit, it's a 4. Just isn't a place that stood out to me, which kind of resulted in this semi uninspired review. Will I come back here, probably, but Moe Joe's is still the go to place in town (IMO), although the wait time recently on weekends is kinda getting annoying. read more

Despite this, when the bill came, they only reduced my order by half. The Griddle has lost a loyal customer who has dined there at least ten times, spending over $50 per visit. Best breakfast on our 7 day road trip! I had the Caribbean French Toast and hubby had the Almond Crusted French Toast, which was topped with mixed fresh berries. Both were amazing! We each made them a combo (added eggs over medium and bacon). The eggs were cooked perfectly and the bacon was delicious! Caribbean French toast would be better with some sort of tropical topping or syrup (like the orange juice based syrup at Original Pancake House, but the sweet coconut was still delicious. Service was friendly and professional. Note: they are not honoring the 10% off deal on Yelp. Per the waiter "we have contacted Yelp to ask them to take it down". I have to say I was very disappointed in this place. After reading the 5-stars I was prepared to be overwhelmed with WOW, but not so. The staff here are absolutely great, and the decor was cute; however, due to the high ceilings and open floorplan, it was quite noisy, which is always a great bone-of-contention for me and my husband, as we enjoy place where we can talk and not have to yell at each other. Now on to the food, I had always wanted to try stuffed french toast and was excited to see they had it on the menu, but what I got was a slice of french toast (nothing to yelp home about either) with a slab of cream cheese and then another piece of french toast topped with the same table-top raspberry jam they had on the tables. It tasted okay, but like I said, I was expecting it WOW me and not taste like someone just put two pieces of Wonder bread in some egg dip and slap Philly Cream Cheese in between another slice with no whole fruit either inside or on top. Also, that was all it was....just 2 pieces with nothing more, no sausage, no bacon, very sad and I don't like leaving a restaurant still hungry (and I don't have a huge appetite). My husband had an omelette which was okay, but he said it was just that...OK. I will say their coffee was very good and because of that and the excellent service and staff, they get 3 stars. Ended up being charged $12.00. What a scam. The waiter said other Griddle locations served BM's from a can and that they have a full liquor license and used "real" Idaho vodka. What a joke! I'd never pay $12 for a Bloody Mary unless it was one like a meal as at Homestead. The ham on the eggs Benedict was so tough I had to forcefully use knife not to mention the ham was flavorless. Quiet honestly, the greatest service I have had in a very long time. Extremely friendly, generous and assuming of our needs. They went so far as to remake one of our friends food because he had to step out for a phone call and they didn't want his meal to be cold. Jeff should have his own podcast with how entertaining he is and Allie and Alexis should have their own spinoff in the style of Disney Channel's Ally & AJ. One of our favorite go to breakfast places. We have checked out a few "The Griddle" locations and this location did not disappoint. If you're going on a weekend, I would recommend going before 8:30am. It tends to get pretty busy on the weekends (especially between the hours of 9-10:30am). Don't worry though, hot coffee is available for everyone while you wait. They also have propane heaters out during winter to help keep you warm. One item that is new for my husband and I is their house made granola. I've had it with the yogurt or topping a crepe. Either way, it is delicious!!! Another item I enjoy ordering is their chilequiles. It has just the right amount of spice and is very filling. Mimosas are available if that is part of your brunch fun. I really wanted to love this place because it has a nice atmosphere and it is conveniently located. I ordered the omelette with caramelized onions and goat cheese. It was a soggy mess and didn't have a good flavor at all. When I pointed it out to the server she sympathized but didn't discount it or anything. My husband ordered biscuits and gravy with two eggs and hash browns and a side of ham. The biscuit was dry and flavorless and the gravy was bland. The eggs and ham were perfect. The hash browns were a little undercooked. The kids' menu left much to be desired. The "hot cake," for example, is literally one hot cake with no side. Both my kids ordered two flavored hot cakes off the regular menu. I will say the hot cakes looked amazing and fluffy and wonderful. My son didn't touch his but I just don't think he was hungry. My picky daughter ate about half (so I guess the kids' order would have been fine!) but she really liked it. Improve your customer service and some of your food and maybe we'll be back. Meanwhile we'll stick with Shari's for family meals. read more
