We have been here multiple times now and really enjoy it! We always end up sitting on the patio - it's shaded when it's hot and there are heaters when it's cooler! My favorite is the grilled caesar salad - it's not over grilled to the point where the lettuce is too wilted and it's perfect on any day of the week! Beautiful, comfortable room with indoor / outdoor seating. The vibe immediately relaxed me, as the bar staff said hello. The little things! Our server was friendly and seemed to enjoy her job. Got our order in with friendly banter. Excellent cocktails, and when one was off -- it was remade without fuss. But the food. We went on Monday night which is Prime Rib night. My friend knew this and was savoring it... no disappointment at all. I had the grilled caesar with salmon... outstanding. Salty and savory... just perfect. While in the desert we love to pop into the Larkspur Grill. It's a great location they have a very very good menu. And they have entertainment. What more could you ask for. The service is exceptional sometimes there's a slight wait because they are very busy. The ambience on the patio is lovely cool Coachella Valley breezes sunsets and a clear view of the stage, if you're there for the entertainment. If you sit on the patio you can also hear the music perfectly. The flat bread was amazing the burgers are good and bacon wrapped dates are delicious. We were there to see Will Donato, because he never let's you down. The whole band is amazing and always a great setlist to dance to. If you want to go out and have a great meal and a great time. Larkspur Grill will definitely be on rotation for me in Palm Desert. Came for Mother's Day brunch and the vibes were immaculate. This restaurant is located inside the Paseo Hotel and don't judge assuming that since it's a hotel restaurant it's average, that thought would be far from it. The service was on point (being a holiday weekend making me even more impressed with how stellar the service was), the food was fabulous, and the drinks were beautiful. Definitely make a reservation - you can't go wrong here though, the outside seating was shaded and cute, inside was stunning with their decor and wall art, and even the bar was welcoming you could definitely sit there if you want something more casual. There isn't a bad seat in the place. Again, service was beyond lovely. Everyone was friendly and attentive. Our waitress made Mother's Day special by being so kind and on top of things. We were also impressed with how quickly the food came out. Very good pace and they don't keep you waiting long. Another plus in my books. Great space from order being taken, cocktails coming out and then the mains. The menu is solid with a great cocktail and wine menu. I was impressed with all of the options. For brunch they had a nice menu half breakfast and half lunch. This restaurant feels slightly more upscale so most of the mains are around $20 give or take for brunch. Cocktails are also up there but well worth the price when it comes to presentation and flavor. My cocktail was the Lavender Dream. The cocktail wasn't purple but instead bright hot pink but beautiful. The flavors were delicious, great if you like a sweet drink which I do. The hibiscus sugar rim was stunning. Beautiful drinks. For our meals I had the wedge salad and because I am weird a side of pork sausage (I had a hankering for both breakfast and lunch bites). My mom had the eggs benefit and added tomato slices which was a smart idea. She loved her eggs Benedict and they were cooked just how she asked. My wedge salad wasn't only visually stunning but delicious. Crispy bacon, cold iceberg lettuce, and saucy, just how I like it. I'm also glad I ordered the side of breakfast sausage as they had a nice mild quick to them and were very tasty. Meal, ambiance, service, and decor was a 5/5. This place is awesome and I hope they are always maintaining this kind of a standard because I'd definitely be back. The price point makes sense for the experience and you get what you pay for. I'd heard nothing but great things about Larkspur. I heard it was a fun vibe, live music, good drinks, so I was excited to finally go. We were greeted and invited seated at the bar. The staff was friendly, the music was solid (Friday night), and the drinks were good and on par with other places. But then I saw an entertainment fee added to the bill. There was no mention of it upfront, no signage, just a surprise charge. My friend, who had recommended the place, leaned over and said, "That's the one thing I don't like about this place." This kind of fee is a dealbreaker for me. Businesses shouldn't push their cost of doing business onto the customer with hidden add-ons. If you need to charge to cover entertainment, fine, but do it at the door. Be upfront. Sad to say I won't be back. I really wanted this to be a go-to spot. read more

We had reserved an inside table because of weather forecast, but it turned out to be a beautiful Christmas Day, so we sat outside. Nice view of the mountains, and much quieter than inside. Service was a bit slow, but friendly. My wife had the crème brûlée French toast and loved it. I had the BLT Benedict. It was pretty dry and one of my eggs was over cooked. They did bring me another poached egg. If you order the Benedict, ask for extra sauce on the side. Great coffee, and they left the carafe, so I didn't have to wait for refills. We are staying at Hotel Paseo and Larkspur Grill is attached. While trying to decide where to have dinner and not wanting anything too far, we decided to try this place. What really grabbed our attention was the great music coming from the band playing inside. Our server Miranda was wonderful. She gave us great food and drink suggestions, was super friendly, and attentive. I ordered the roasted chicken with a mustard beer glaze and it was very moist and delicious. My husband ordered the spaghetti and meatballs which he really enjoyed. We also added the garlic rolls and they were yummy! This is a super fun restaurant with live music nightly. We've already gone twice during this stay and are planning to go at least one more time while we're here. I highly recommend this restaurant for the food and music entertainment! read more

We had a great time here at night sitting at the bar with the live music. This bar/restaurant is connected to the Hotel Paseo. The performance was excellent--and we sang along and others danced in front of the stage. Service at the bar was responsive, friendly, and fast. Visited the restaurant on 2-28-26 and had an unfortunate experience with an older gentleman host (Willis?). He seemed incompetent and not experienced in his role which led to us leaving our reservation and seeking dinner elsewhere. My wife and I enjoy changing up our routine at our local watering holes and we will stop in to the Larkspur Grill depending on what bands are playing. The food is OK and the entertainment is just OK as well. I enjoy watching bands that are professional and play songs together Without any enhancements of planning to tracks like on an iPad. Last time we were there there was a band or maybe not a band it was actually just two guys and they were playing to tracks. I totally understand how if you have a full band you but can eliminate some of them because you can play to an iPad.. and therefore cut the cost. But in this case, if you look on the menu before you order your meal, there will be a cost added to your bill just for the entertainment. My wife and I are not sure how we feel about this. There are other options with no extra cost for the entertainment. read more

We came for lunch with puppy on the last day they were open for summer dining on the patio. Our server was also the bar tender and she was sooo nice and so was the young man valet who parked my car for free for dining at their grill . The lobster roll,was a real bargain at $22 but mom likes it cold rather than hot and she forgot to ask in advance . My hamburger patty was amazing however it was cooked medium rather than medium rare as I ordered it. Stopped in on a summer Friday night and were seated quickly. Drinks were great, but after our initial order and delivery, no one checked in on us. Nearly an hour later our server finally stopped by to ask how we were doing--by then we would have ordered more drinks, but instead just asked for the check. When the check arrived, we were surprised to see an "entertainment fee" almost as much as one of our drinks. There was zero mention of this charge anywhere, which made the whole experience even more frustrating--especially since we were barely acknowledged the entire time we were there. read more

My wife and I popped in last night for a quick drinkie-poo and a side of fries. We had never been, so we were quite surprised at how clean the place is. Of course, the hotel is relatively new and after arriving we were seated near the hostess on one of the "checkerboard" tables. We could have squeezed in at the bar but we opted for more space. There was music going on already at 6PM and we skimmed their cocktail menu, which generated an intense salivation thinking of the flavors passing my lips and hitting my esophagus. (A bit too medical?) Anyhoo, the libations were GREAT, the bartender was even better and the talent singing songs by Frankie Blue Eyes tied up our 45 minute visit in a tight bow. We were grateful for our family making a reservation for us and we're thrilled as we had just arrived at the hotel that this restaurant was in our hotel. Perhaps it was that we had been traveling all day and we're exhausted., but the music was irritating and loud and had a weird vibe. Evidently everyone in the whole restaurant arrived at the same time we did but it took forever to order and for our food to come out. Everyone pretty much ordered 3 of the same menu items. The chicken pasta was cold. The chicken picata looked good but the two people who ordered it in our party thought it should have had more breading. I had the Ceasars salad and was hoping it would be really good but it was not. Just an average Romain salad meh Ceasars dressing and white anchovies throw on top to make it special. I love anchovies and it didn't do it for me. I don't mind an anchovy garnish but I prefer a good dressing with the anchovies incorporated into it...to really get the umami of the salty ocean flavor throughout. I needed something more as this was my dinner so I ordered the basil avocado dip with pita chip. The dip was too salty according to the others that tried it. I thought it would have been more of a guacamole style dip but it was a mayo loaded goo. ANYWAYS the location was great... food and service and noise level not so great. The desserts looked unappetizing. A cheese cake with a circle of red jelly that might have been dragonfruit a chocolate cake and pannacotta with a hard cookie that my brother in law fought to break with his fork. Our female server tonight needed far more training. English did not appear to be her first language and she seemed a little shy and uncertain about the menu. The service was very slow. The two lady's meals came out at least 5 minutes before the 2 men's . Someone else brought out the men's. My husband is Celiac, which we told her. We looked around for at least 5 minutes trying to get someone's attention. I finally got up and walked over the the where two girls were standing and talking and asked if my husband could get some dressing for his salad. The buss girl dropped it off, never apologized and I had to ask her if the creamy dressing (she never asked what kind he'd like) was gluten free. She said she didn't know and sent our server over. Our server said she told the kitchen he was celiac so it should be. We asked her to check and she came back with oil and vinegar because she said nobody knew for sure. After serving our meal she never checked back except when we were clearly long done she asked if we wanted coffee dessert. We said no and after about 15 minutes asked the bus girl if we could get our bill. A server's job is not to take an order and drop food off. It's also to check to see how things are and if the guest needs anything or would like to order another drink. Even our water glasses were never refilled. The service was not good and the food was mediocre. The chairs were comfy. read more

Quiet atmosphere, solid food. Wait staff were especially kind. My friend's son is a picky eater. He only wanted a smoothie. When we asked the waitress, she said because the restaurant wasn't busy the waitress offered to grab one from the Cafe for him. She also checked on us regularly, asked if we wanted refills, waters and beverages to go and talked to my friends son a little bit to make him feel included. The manager and several waiters walked past us numerous times. Finally one gal gave us water but did not ask us if we wanted a drink! We sat there until 8:45 with water! A beautiful picturesque restaurant with a lovely outdoor patio as part of the newish Paseo Hotel, a Marriott property. They have meals all day, but at night...you can dine with entertainment. Last night, I was lucky enough to see again the top Billboard jazz artist, saxophonist Will Donato. Older crowd, but great vibe and packed. Reservations recommended, or be prepared to stand or get lucky enough to find a seat or two at the bar. Both times I've been, I loved our waitresses. Very sweet, and took good care. First trip: ======== I got the short rib [$40, 4.0 stars] -- pricey, smallish, but quite good. Second trip: =========== Reluctantly, I got the Larkspur Wagyu burgers [$20, 4.5 stars]. It was delish, perfectly cooked and char'd, fluffy bun. I was reluctant because the gf got it on the first trip, and hated it. My Mom has has it numerous times, and her experienced varied with "inconsistent meat". This time, wonderful. read more

This place is so close to being great. I would love to bring more family and friends to dine and enjoy music. Thir music goes from 6 - 9 PM. The service is excellent (Kendell, Manu), and the seating is comfortable inside and outside (weather permitting). The place is not that big, but they also did a great job leaving room for dancing. The food is mixed--some great, some not so much. Here's the big, loud problem. The bands there think they are playing in a big concert hall or amphitheatre. They all play SO LOUDLY that we are yelling to talk to each other. The management knows and can't get the bands to decrease their volume. Management is more afraid that the musicians will walk out rather than demanding that they reduce their volume. Management needs to invest in the speaker technology to control it themselves. We tried sitting outside, but with summer coming, that will not be an option. We'll return when we can talk AND enjoy the music. read more

So disappointed with the service in this place . Firstly , we were told there was going to be food & drinks after party after the Golf Parade . We go there & nothing was free . So we decided to have lunch . I ordered the Chicken sandwich with no lettuce & raw red onions . My sandwich came dry no mayo no tomatoes but loaded with lettuce . Then I got the vinegar onions when I asked for raw onions . By the time the onions came I had eaten half my sandwich . My French fries were bottom of the barrel little tiny tiny broken pieces . Like of you're the Chef don't you see what you're serving . And why do servers write our requirements if the Chef isn't even going to read it . Then I ordered Shirley Temple it was completely flat . The Sprite wasn't even fresh or bubbly . It was awful & too much of Grenadine . The place wasn't even that busy & yet service was so bad . Beware - $6.00 per person surcharge!!! We stopped by for a glass of wine. We ordered a 6oz pour for $10.00. When the billed arrived we were changed $17.95 with no transparent itemized explanation of the charges. I asked the server for an explanation and he advised me of an entertainment surcharge of $6.00 per person added to each check. I asked the server this information was not disclosed prior to placing our order. He advised us, many people are taken by surprise and he apologized and wished management would reconsider their lack of proper communication, approach and deceptive business practices. read more
