    King Salmon

We came here as a late lunch early dinner combo. 3 adults 2 teenagers 2 grilled salmon 3 the grill burger While we only asked for one burger without veggies all of them came out without which was annoying. The fries were really good. We had a side of cauliflower and the mushrooms. The cauliflower could have used more flavor and the mushrooms were too heavy on the wine flavor. The place was very busy when we came in and service was a little slow but understandable. It's really nice sitting outside of the weather allows.

I selected this place based on the reviews. There is valet parking, some street parking or a parking garage. We were able to get reservations which was nice and decided to sit on the patio. It was great weather to sit and chill outside and look at the water while enjoying lovely food. The service was great, our waitress was friendly, checked in and kept our water full. The pacing of food was good as well. I really enjoyed the crab deviled eggs. They were creamy and yummy. My filet was cooked perfectly and paired so well with the green beans and the sweet potatoes. The sweet potato sauce was so good. The chimichurri with my steak was nicely done. We tried the sorbet for dessert and got the seasonal options of blood orange and raspberry and it was a great way to end the meal. It was worth every penny.

We dined here on a Saturday after exploring The Wharf. I booked a reservation for lunch, so there was no wait and we were promptly seated on the patio. Being as I seldom get weekend days off, it totally did not occur to me that it would be more of a brunch menu than a traditional lunch menu- which was totally fine. We were starving so we started out with the Three Cheese Crab Fondue as an appetizer. It was really good- and definitely really hearty. There was an ample amount of lump crab meat in the dip, so we definitely got our money's worth. If you love melty cheese and crab- you'll love it. The only downside was the bread was on the unimaginative side. To have a stellar fondue and have a meh bread to put it on undermines the dish as a whole. For my entree I got the Coconut Cardamom French Toast. This was a truly elevated FT variety and was a five-star dish all the way. It wasn't too sweet and was like something you'd get at a luxury resort. Service was fine. Our waiter was good and a manager came by to check on us. Since we dined on the patio, this is a great place to people watch, but just be mindful of the time of day. We were fortunate to have a table where we were shaded from the sun, but some of the other tables seem to be right in the blaze of mid-day. Overall the grill is a nice place and the food was very good. I'd definitely be back sometime to try other things on the menu.

    Cajun Branzino, $49

The Grill serves up solid food and service. I visited on a very busy Saturday night with a reservation for 6 people at 6:30 PM. I tried the lobster roll ($39) and Cajun Branzino ($49) and both were good. The lobster roll was Maine-style -- cold with mayo -- which is not my preferred style, but it was still pretty good. The side of fries were great -- crispy and well-seasoned. I liked that the lobster roll had a specific price on the menu and not just "MP." The branzino was also very good. Everyone else had good things to say about their dishes, which included the clam chowder, seafood linguini, and caesar salads. Service was good but uneven in spots; there were some nice touches, but also a few misses. For example, they poured the canned beer for us tableside and remembered a guest's birthday with a small slice of cheesecake (free). But, they forgot crackers to go with the clam chowder, didn't deliver dishes to the correct people, and were a few minutes late bringing the last entree after all the others had arrived. It was a busy night, but also they should be used to that. We sat in the back dining area and the ambiance was fine.

This is a beautiful restaurant right on the water with great indoor and outdoor seating. The bar is really pretty too. The customer service was great from check in to table service from Kalil. There were some hit and miss items that we had, but the Cajun Branzino was so delicious and perfectly seasoned and cooked. We ordered the mussels and the sauce was creamy which was not expected was not appealing at all. The wedge salad was super fresh and tasty! We also ordered All the Bites and everything was good except for the bacon wrapped dates. I'm not sure what they were stuffed with, but that should be noted on the menu. We were not a fan. Dessert was decent. The lime pie was beautiful decorated and the sorbet was to be expected. I'd definitely return for the fish.

Crab fondue with Honey Herb Rolls

Lower taste than what I remembered from 2022. Service was lack luster as well. It was great sitting outside until it got too hot. The key lime pie as the birthday perk was a nice touch. Their grill punch was good and the espresso martini with baileys was perfect!

Very vast menu. The cocktails are excellent. They specialize in martinis. The "dirty little secret" martini their basic house martini is surprisingly high level! It's way better than any other high end martini I have had at other martini specialized bars. Food is great quality. The crab fondue is perfect for 2 people to share. Excellent service. Chelsea goes above and beyond! Definitely a 1st class bartender. My wife and I like the low key lighting and atmosphere. Bar seating is plentiful with views of the water. They offer happy hour and dinner specials. Outdoor seating is available when it's warmer! Lastly, They have allagash white beer on tap! I usually go for martinis while I am here. But one day, will make an exception. This is a solid place for a local to frequent.

Half chicken, part of their $39 daily special!

Very nicely decorated restaurant located in the Wharf. They have a special going (I think) from 4 - 6 pm every day for $39.00: you can select from a limited menu 1 appetizer, 1 entree and 1 dessert. Awesome deal! I got a side salad with their house tomato vinegar dressing, the half chicken and a trio of ice cream scoops. Everything was seasoned well, I would say that the chicken tho was very dry. Service was great! I would check this place out for that daily deal alone. IYKYK!

    Burger with sweet potato fries

The food is really good but the place is pricey for lunch. I had the house made vegetable burger with sauteed cauliflower with pine nuts. My dining companions had burgers. Everything was delicious and the service was top notch. The menu is varies with something for everyone. The dining area is on the nicer side and right on the wharf.

I met up with a girl friend of mine who I haven't seen in months. We enjoyed the grill punch, while munching on spicy tuna bites and splitting the grill burger. The environment was quiet -- perfect for a girl friend date -- even romantic date. The staff were friendly...I would say they probably weren't as attentive even though the bar was pretty empty...though my friend and I were chatting up a storm. So many they didn't want to bother us. Overall, great experience. I would definitely go back for happy hour again.

I stopped by The Grill at the Harbor while visiting The Wharf, craving a good steak. I ordered the New York Strip, cooked medium-well, and while the price was steep at $51, I was really in the mood for steak, so I went for it. The ambience was very nice relaxed and upscale without being too formal. The crowd was minimal, which made for a quiet dining experience. My server was polite, though not particularly engaging or attentive. The steak itself was decent, though not necessarily memorable for the price point. That said, this seems like a great spot for drinks at the bar especially if you're already walking around The Wharf and looking for a place to unwind. Overall, I'd recommend this spot more for cocktails and atmosphere than for the food alone unless you're really craving steak like I was.

    Delicious cheesecake dessert

We love the Grill and make a point to go very often. The atmosphere is upscale casual (appropriate for the water front in DC). Enrique is our favorite bartender (happy hour at the bar on sundays). Jacqueline is one of the managers and she leads a great team. All are attentive and care about providing a great experience. The food is quality and the Grill punch does not disappoint. I enjoy the lamb skewers, calamari, seasoned fries, burger (all on the happy hour menu). Outdoor seating is available and the bar is great too. We see families and brunch goers or couples -- it seems to work for all. We love to support good restaurants and businesses and the Grill is great!

So, this is just another restaurant /bar on the District Wharf, that being said the food was quite tasty. The Mussel's .... they were mouth watering fantastic and what made it so good was the white wine, blue cheese, chipotle, cream sauce that they were soaking in. The Lamb kabobs with very tasty. The Grill Burger was good. Overall, really enjoyed our time here. Staff was great, especially David, our server. He was very attentive, accommodating, knowledgeable and very welcoming. We would stop here again and try their grilled upside down pineapple cake.

First off: this is no longer the Moon Rabbit restaurant. I never remembered the name. Only the…read morelocation. And the bunny logo. That restaurant moved to Penn Quarter a year ago and it's been about 4 years since I last went. I didn't even think I was in a new restaurant until I couldn't find the gold rabbit logo. The interior of the two restaurants is similar enough and having rolls with salmon roe topping your honey miso butter is not far off from what you might have found eating a fried chicken dish with a subtle Vietnamese twist at Moon Rabbit. The concept of WillowSong is nothing new: farm-to-table. But the flavors are beyond what we could of expected! The waiter explained how the chefs source their food from farms within a certain geographical radius. I definitely recommend a visit here for a special dinner that will leave you wanting to come back. The house made milk bread was served piping hot. The aroma - as I picked one roll up - was so indicative of bread you knew you were going to enjoy. The honey miso butter was not typical, and I loved it. It had a citrusy aftertaste and was not too sweet. I didn't eat the salmon roe - mentioned earlier topping the honey miso butter - but it was an interesting juxtaposition. The Squid Ink Oricchiette - black elbow pasta - was lovely. I asked the waiter, "Which is more popular here, the sea bass or the oricchiette?" He confidently said that if he had to choose, it would be the oricchiette and the Yelp reviews say the same. There was an inherent subtle heat and the jumbo lump crab meat was tasty. The squid ink pasta was cooked perfectly al dente and the tomato jus herb crumble was well-seasoned. The micro greens garnish added such a nice, crisp crunch. The citrus olive oil ricotta - underneath of the pasta - had a good balancing effect. The grilled maple citrus pork chop - when featured - is a not-to-miss! The flavors were divine. You got the sweetness of the maple sauce and a really nice sear with the char-grilled aftertaste. Just the kind of flavor I look for. Cutting into the pork chop was easy as it was so tender. All of the herb and vegetable flavors in the charred gratin (Swiss chard simmered in a creamy garlic sauce) really came together for something delightful. The Swiss chard was cooked well, yet had a good crunch with a definite farm-to-table flavor, straight from the garden. We were here on a weekend night. A rowdier after-9pm crowd formed for a televised game. I've seen it much busier here on weeknights at Moon Rabbit, before 9pm, and the waiter said the crowds here are similar. I liked that it was more bustling on the boardwalk and calmer inside of this restaurant, before the sporting event crowd around the bar. There are so many restaurants to choose from at the Wharf, and many of them are packed and touristy. When you step inside of WillowSong, there is no crowding and the environment is calm. I would next like to try the Hamache Tartar. It is made with chili oil, preserved lemon, scallion, cashew, Eva's Garden mouse melon, serrano and cilantro. The staff said the breakfasts at WillowSong are very popular and are from 9am to 1pm. Cornmeal pancakes? Hello. Look at the Yelp photos to see the breakfast offering deliciousness at WillowSong. If the birthday dessert that we enjoyed was any indication, I would have to believe him. It was a chocolate brownie-like pastry with granola and graham crust, flowers and fruit. The dark chocolate ganache was decadent. This was a hazelnut dessert which I would have never ordered because I find the flavor overpowering. They kindly surprised us by bringing out a dessert they chose, with a lit candle and singing. I was so glad that the hazelnut flavor was subtle and that it did not taste like a Nutella dessert. The birthday dessert was subtlety-flavored with hazelnut but chocolatey and rich, otherwise. I think there was oatmeal or granola in it. This was a decadent experience. Love that the restaurant has margaritas and sangrias on draught. In the sangria you can find: mango purée, white wine, apple brandy and soda water. Would love to try, next time. As much as I love the Vietnamese fusion fare at Moon Rabbit, I was equally as delighted with the more global dining experience at WillowSong. And the lovely, warm service.

I was there during brunch service and found a menu that covered a lot of bases. My main interest was seeing if they still offered fried clam bellies, a rarity in the D.C. restaurant scene. Nope, no bellies, but on offer under the brunch appetizers were Stuffies (three baked top neck clams, smoked linguica, lemon, breadcrumbs, house hot sauce, $13), along with more traditional starters, including clam chowder ($7 cup, $12 bowl), fried calamari (roasted garlic pomodoro sauce, fried cherry peppers & artichoke, lemon, $15). I ended up ordering the North Shore Roast Beef sandwich (horseradish cream, BBQ sauce, American cheese, onion roll, with fries, $19). More than enough for brunch and lunch the following day. Service was good, and the meal was excellent. Note the Salt Line's transparency, where it explains that "DC restaurants have been operating with dynamic and significant increases in labor wages, food costs, and the general cost of doing business in DC. We have chosen to implement a 4% operational surcharge - which does not go towards gratuity - as the most comprehensive way to address this." Seems to me to strike a decent balance, but I'm not all that up to date about the living wage issue in the services industry. In any event I respect The Salt Line's management for being up front about their surcharge policy.

Incredible Experience - Ask for Eliseo and Matias!…read more We had an absolutely phenomenal lunch at the Fogo de Chão at The Wharf, and it was entirely due to the incredible team work of our server Eliseo and Gaucho chef, Matias. Our server, Eliseo, was incredibly attentive and kept the pace of the meal perfect, but the highlight was our Gaucho chef, Matias. From the moment he arrived at our table, it was clear he was a master of his craft. He cuts every selection so elegantly and treats the meat with real respect. We actually found out why he's so skilled: he used to be the meat chef at Gordon Ramsay's Hell's Kitchen just down the street, where he prepared all the cuts for their famous Beef Wellingtons. That level of expertise really shines through in his work here. Matias took the time to explain cuts of meat to us, and his knowledge of the different meats is top-tier. What impressed us most was his attention to detail--whenever we mentioned we wanted a specific piece charred a bit more, he didn't just say "okay," he took it and charred it for us immediately. He is by far one of the best Gaucho chefs I've ever encountered. A huge thank you to Matias for paying such close attention to our needs and making this a truly special experience. We will definitely be back!
