Terrible service. The food and the price was not worth the terrible service. Our server was triple sat and NO ONE helped her. We tried to get multiple servers, food runners and managers attention and NO ONE was paying attention. Everyone had tunnel vision and there was no sense of team work. Our drinks never came, the table next to us that sat after us got drinks and food before us even though they ordered after us. What an excellent dining experience. We started out with the deviled eggs and the mussels. The deviled aha were delicious and the mussels were outstanding. The broth from the mussels were absolutely amazing. We had to get some extra bread for the broth. For our entrees I had the bbq ribs which were really good. My girlfriend enjoyed the burger. Our server was Travis and he was outstanding. He poured with the menu and did an excellent job in ensuring we were comfortable and well taken care of without being overbearing. The staff was excellent. The server and staff came by to check on us but it wasn't over the top. Everyone was friendly. Food came out fast. I had the skirt steak the sweet potatoes. It comes with a tiny salad with a really refreshing dressing. Skirt steak was nice and tender. My kid got a kids burger. Heads up- that comes with a juice and an ice cream!! The restaurant was located at the wharf which is always filled with such a nice ambiance. When you enter to the left is the front where you can check in. When we arrived we were greeted by our waiter who was very tentative to our needs. They do have anoption called " The mixed Grill" which is $79.00/per person. Which come with a house salad, Grilled asparagus added items were sweet potatoes , deviled eggs with duck mousse and caviar, grilled cheese which is similar to mozzarella sticks but it had a sweet crust with a drizzle of possibly honey or syrup, lamb skewers w/ a tzatziki sauce (Not pictured ). Jumbo shrimp, Ribeye steak, two crab cakes. We did have a reservation which we were able to book through open table. Fun perk of booking is it prompts you to down load the " InKind" app which allows you to receive a welcome reward of $50 off your meal if you pay using the app. I thought that was a great option and encourages your dinning experience. All you have to do is on the top of your check it has a check number you can enter it into the app. Put your card information. Also 20% gratuity is added to your total amount and reminder that you will pay whatever the dc tax is as well. I went to The Grill recently and sat at a table by myself. I don't know if you have ever had this experience; however, if you're eating alone, sometimes the wait staff treat you as if you're not even there. As if you want to be alone and not just eating alone. I ordered the Mediterranean salad, roasted potatoes, bread and two crab meat deviled eggs. Now I have never had a problem with the food, so I can never say anything bad about it. However the service needs improvement. No one checked in on me to even see if my dishes were to my liking. No one came to give me the check. I had to wait several minutes and after getting it, it was even wrong. They charged me for four deviled eggs. I continued to wait to get my server back to rectify the problem, however, he never came back. I just got up from the table, taking my leftovers and handing it to a gentleman that had a suit on and explained that I was overcharged on my bill. I even gave him back the food that I had planned on taking home. After the bad service, I didn't even want to eat it. I am posting this review because I feel that the wait staff needs to do an improvement if someone is dining alone. Do not treat us as if we are on an island of purgatory. They need to demonstrate the same quality of service as if I was in a party of five. Follow up with me, ask me if my food is OK and refill my drinks if I need it. Service is hit-or-miss, but overall they have a pretty decent happy hour. It starts at 12 at ends at 6. It's even on Sundays too. The bar is very large and tends to get busy around 4-5. Happy hour is also outside on the patio. The Grill Punch is pretty good for $9. It's large, refreshing and flavorful. The Pinky and the Brain cocktail is frozen, but boozy. The seasoned fries are really good. I also really enjoy the Cobb Salad and the Grilled Chicken sandwich. Some bartenders are friendlier than others. read more

Since it was beautiful outside we decided to hit the Wharf and grab brunch at The Grill (our first time there). They offer a "bottomless" option for $34.99 on top of your entree's price which in my opinion is worth it bc you can choose between many different cocktails (traditional mimosas and bloodys included) and mix and match. The Grill Punch was SLAMMING and was my favorite! The 3 Cheese Crab Fondue .... TO DIE FOR!!! I would come back just for that. The express lunch was a good deal as you can choose between different proteins and it's accompanied by herbed fries, a side salad and sorbet or ice cream. Our server was amazing as was the GM! Great ambiance and very prompt and friendly service. We sat outside on the Wharf, and that view made the experience just that much better. My wife got pork ribs and she said it was the best and leanest cut of ribs she ever had, she said the BBQ sauce wasn't great, but not terrible. I had the burger with caramelized onions and I would definitely order it again. My kids both got items from the kids menu and the prices were actually reasonable for a pretty expensive restaurant and the portion sizes were good too. We didn't order drinks but all the people around us did and it looked like they were having much more fun than us. We would come back for sure. read more

We had a reservation at The Grill at The Wharf on a Friday around 6:30 PM. The interior is modern and stylish, welcoming vibe and nothing too over-the-top. We were seated right away, and service throughout was attentive and accommodating. Appetizer: The Bites Platter Highly recommend this. It's a great way to start the meal, especially if you're with a group. For the three of us, the platter was perfect, we each got one of every item. Standouts included the bacon-wrapped dates, which were rich, savory, and perfectly balanced. The deviled eggs were just okay, but still enjoyable as part of the variety. For the price and portion, this is a solid value and a fun way to share. Grill Cheeseburger & Herb Fries// This burger was very good. It was cooked exactly to order and came with a flavorful bacon jam that really elevated the flavor. It's a hearty portion - easily splittable if you're not starving. The herb fries on the side were good, though the herbs didn't stand out as much as expected. Still crispy and well-seasoned overall. They don't offer ranch (which felt a bit surprising), but there are other dipping sauces available. Mediterranean Chopped Salad with Shrimp// This was a very generous portion. The salad itself was fresh and flavorful, and we added shrimp for protein. You get three large shrimp, which were cooked and seasoned well. I recently dined at The Grill with two friends. We opted for the three-course prix fixe sunset menu, which was a solid deal at $39. Starters: Two of us chose the house salad, which consisted of romaine, tomato, red onion, and radish dressed in a tomato vinaigrette. It resembled a pre-packaged salad you'd find at the grocery store--nothing special. The standout starter was the grilled cheese. It sounded simple, but it was surprisingly delicious. Main Course: For our mains, we each tried something different. One friend had the shrimp linguine with herb pesto, while I went for the grilled Atlantic salmon served with black rice, sautéed spinach, and lemon-herb butter. The salmon was nicely grilled but salty and the rice had a prominent taste of butter that I was not fond of. Our other friend enjoyed the petite filet paired with parmesan-whipped potatoes and green beans in bordelaise sauce. Dessert: We all ordered the flourless chocolate cake with vanilla bean ice cream. Where do I start? As soon we stepped through the door the excellent service began. We were escorted out to the veranda to a wonderful table with light jazz playing in the background. It was a perfect night for alfresco dining, and the food made it even better! I ordered the Caesar salad with anchovies. He asked if I wanted to hold the anchovies, but I always believe that it's best to try what the chef has prepared first to get the whole experience. I wasn't wrong to take that chance. The Caesar salad was excellent. My honey ordered the barbecue spare ribs, which came with french fries. Even though I said I wasn't gonna have any protein, I had to try the ribs and they were delicious! Our server Roberto suggested some wonderful cocktails and of course they were fantastic! We were promptly greeted by our waiter and placed our drink orders. Our waiter offered suggestions on what to order since it was our first time visiting. Seems like you need a reservation otherwise be prepared to wait for a table. The food was reasonable, not especially good. Honestly I find it a over-priced for a simple dish of grilled half chicken which wasnt really special. The main course had no side dishes and you need to add $10.50 for each side dish which is rather expensive. The beers were $6 during happy hour which I ordered one. Three of us ate here last night. The food is excellent. We had fish (Chilean Sea Bass and Salmon) and steak. Highly recommend the food. We enjoyed our server also. We sat outside on the wharf, very nice. One complaint is that our server didn't ever mention "extra" prices for things. For example they asked if we wanted rolls and we said yes. We didn't know they were $10 extra. We don't eat them because they were not very good. Also, there are extra charges for drink mixers and Ice cubes. Crazy. I was also charged $2 more for a shrimp add-on to my meal. Three cheese crab fondue - deliciously cheesy. Not too salty or heavy of a feeling. You can definitely taste the crab. Some places you can't see it or even taste it due to how little they give you but they did a great job here. Skirt steak - medium steak. Nice cut and taste. Great, easy evening steak dinner at The Grill. Casual, slightly upscale steakhouse on the promenade at the wharf provided a warm solo dinner at the bar. The Grill has a modern though comfy interior that brings real warmth from the open grill flames which serve to help.heat the interior. On a late February evening with exterior temperatures in the 49s it had to be a cozy 75+ inside. This heat, however, leads to the singular downfall in my dinner experience: red wines are kept upright in the bar interior, and thus are much too warm. With Chappellet Mountain Cuvee priced at $38 for 8 oz, when a 750ml bottle typically goes for $50, I expect better. Keep some bottles on ice, even, simply to chill the wine. A cooler cabernet would have helped cut the fattiness of the steak so much better. This said, I had an expensive, though very satisfying meal, and I will definitely return. A 16oz ribeye at $68 was a perfectly grilled, hot, juicy, nice exteriored slice of beef. Just the right amount of juicy flavorful fat. The cut was slightly too salty, but this was a nit. I wasn't sending this back! It didn't require any additional seasoning, and the accompanying sauce (I chose chimichurri) was unneeded. An add on of crab cakes (12.50) is a definite do! 2 not tiny, decent sized disc's of real crabmeat are.accomapnied by a small amount of filler, grilled crispy and full of blue crab flavor. Worth every penny. I.was really surprised at how much I enjoyed these. A side of green beans in a basil and cilantro pesto were a bright accompaniment to the ribeye's fatti ess and the savoring ess of the crabcake. Perfect combination, and every element done well. Sitting at the bar, Nancy C, made me feel welcome and attended to. I hope yo see her again. Fabulous person who made a killer vodka + grapefruit. Oh, the flour less chicolate cake with a dollop of vanilla ice cream is perfect. Dusted with some powdered sugar it is warm, appropriately gooey, chocolate and a perfectly end to a good evening. The Grill is located on The Wharf, a popular dining/shopping destination in the waterfront, in Southwest DC. We stopped in for lunch (very crowded on a weekday) and were parked in a cozy corner booth. It was about 10-15 minutes before we were given water or acknowledged, but once Robert did come over, we were provided attentive service. I started with I've Been Bitter which had ceders classic, tart cherry, gentian and lemon. It was crisp, herbal and floral. We shared All the Bites, which was a platter containing devilled eggs with duck liver mousse and caviar, grilled cheese with pistachio and pomegranate honey, lamb skewers with tzaziki, bacon-wrapped dates and house made potato chips with a blue cheese chip. We also added creamed spinach with Calabrian chilis. We thoroughly enjoyed sampling these apps and it gave us some inkling as to the culinary offerings. I don't know whether this is a retro themed steakhouse- grill or a tropical Caribbean supper club because there are retro-tinged songs playing in the restaurant and the bathroom is tropical-salsa. I guess it doesn't matter -- it's grown up and fun. The guests at the other table had lobster rolls and burgers (looked good) and the gals on the other side of us were having colorful scoops of sorbet after their meal. There were a lot of people out and about on this spring afternoon. I will return to The Wharf and hopefully to The Grill. read more

This cute restaurant is right along the wharf and has great seating interior and out. The vibe is very modern LA almost. We were seated almost immediately, and multiple people came over to get us water, drinks, etc until our waitress came over for food, I got the lobster roll (chilled) and truly have never had such a delightful version of this. The lobster was insanely fresh and there was SO MUCH for the cost of the sandwich. It was seasoned which sometimes falls by the wayside in chilled lobster dishes I've experienced. The roll was good quality and the sauce served with it had a nice tang with a hint of spice (barely). Our waitress was so attentive and on top of it she made the whole dining experience a joy and a breeze.
