Such an adorably terrifying spot we happened upon while there for a show at Wonder Theater. The staff was kind and helpful. We met the owner! Complimented their place. Coffee was strong and delicious. Raspberry pastry was delightful. Love the spooky vibe. If you're looking for a year round Halloween treat stop here for a drink and pastry!

I had been wanting to go since last year. Finally went and had me a pumpkin cupcake, I thought it was really good. The lady was nice and helpful. It was a cute shop.

Love to go grab delicious horror treats. They look awesome, but most importantly they taste AMAZING!! My granddaughter's are not fans of horror movies but love Manny's creations. We would go to Wonderland mall when there was events and we knew they would be set up with his yummy treats but now that he's opened a store, that just makes it 1000% better!

To start off - the customer service was excellent. We got greeted by two different people, both asking how were and if we had any questions and to let them know when we were ready. We found that to be very welcoming and kind. The case was half empty, this was around noon. Not sure at what time they close because their Instagram just states they open at 11 with no closing time (not sure if that just means until they run out?) The prices tend to run the same for every single pastry from $6-$7 which I find to be unusual and not the best thing because as you can see at the bottom of the case- a small strawberry tart was $7 being the same price as a decent size turtle brownie or almost the same as a $6.50 strawberry scream (donut strawberry whipped pastry) just does not correlate. To have not prices that variate in the sizes of the pastries is a bad sign to me. It felt like the prices were high just because of the "name". The pastries were alright nothing amazing. We got 4 of them, one of them isn't pictured. We got the Strawberry Scream, a Hazelnut Crossaint, Turtle Brownie, and Rasberry Tart. The only thing me and my boyfriend liked to the point of finishing and worth the price in our opinion was the Strawberry Scream and the Turtle Brownie. The Grim Bakers came to be a brick and mortar store after winning a Halloween Baking Competition on The Food Network which is actually how I started following them. I followed them throughout the process of opening the store and I was so excited! But sadly I was a tad disappointed from the prices to the pastries.

My wife and I stopped in to pick up some horror themed goodies to take to our son and his wife on New Year's Day. We got to meet Manny while we were there. The place is in the food court area of Wonderland of the Americas Mall. They didn't have a huge selection because of the holiday rush, but what they did have was great. We bought one of the lovers cookies. I really liked the design. We also bought some cupcakes and a lemon bar. We only got to try the cupcakes. We each had half of a vanilla one and a chocolate one. They were both very good. I can't wait to go back and try some more things in the near future. I love the novelty of the horror theme.

This little GEM is hidden and tucked away in wonderland mall. I had heard many great things via social media and word of mouth, so it was just a matter of time until I tried it. The location is great, it's easy to access and in the food court there's plenty of seating to devour your sweet treats if you cannot wait to get home. Now the service when ordering is super easy, people complain about the wait, but fail to realize it's only so many people working who are baking making coffee and taking orders, so WAIT people, give them a minute. The staff are really nice and are always more than willing to explain the treats! I've even talked to the owner who was on the holiday baking championship! Really nice people. Now, the pastries are on another level, you can taste the difference from here between mass created knock offs from chain bakeries. I've tried a handful of cupcakes, a particular favorite of mine is the strawberry crunch, it's a strawberry cake lovers dream! I've heard the coffee is not bad, it's nothing super special but hey, neither is Starbucks, besides the label. So give it a shot, support local and try many of their different items. If you're complaining about prices, go to a grocery store get box mix and make your own.

Finally had a chance to try The Grim Bakers and my partner and I were super happy with everything we tried today. Not only did everything look great they tasted amazing! Everything looked and tasted luxe. Came on a Thursday at 3pm and there was a good assortment of treats available and the cashier was nice and also got lucky to see the man himself. It was a good first visit and look forward to the next one

As a lover of all things spooky, I had been looking forward to trying this place since it opened and finally had the chance to go. I was happy to support a fellow San Antonian's passion project. This bakery is in the food court at Mall of the Americas between Vicious Eats burgers and Spaceballs. Just seeing all their creative items was a feast for eyes! I loved the spooky touches to all the sweets, like skulls on top of their tarts or a Ghostface on an orange ice cream waffle cone. I bought a rice crispy chocolate Ouija board, turtle brownie and strawberry tart. The chef's kiss was that the planchette on the rice krispy treat was a separate chocolate piece. There were consistent long lines but they replenished their goodies at a great pace I thought. However, don't be surprised if you go and they are largely sold out, due to their popularity. Definitely check this place out for a spooky treat any time of the year.

    Storefront is SO CUTE!

Love this place! Grim Bakers offers cozy gothic charm, horror decor, deliciously spooky treats & frightening good coffee! The customer service is beyond expectations! Staff is so friendly and very warming. It's definitely worth the 4-5 hour drive to visit here. If you move all things spooky, sweet treads and amazing coffee, I would definitely recommend stopping by!

I did not go in person so I can't comment on their service but only on their desserts. First the macarons.. my daughter loves macarons and she said they tasted like food coloring and they were super tiny for being $3 each. Secondly the cupcake was a good size and it did have filling so I guess that can account for the price point but the cake was just a tad dry the icing was whipped cream which I guess was ok and it had a strawberry on top which was also ok. There was an item that I thought was a croissant with whipped cream and strawberry filling but when I got it in person it was donut..I've never had a donut sandwich and I guess it was fine just wasn't expecting it to be a donut which made it way more sweet of a dessert than I hoped for. Not sure I will try them again. I feel like the theme is what's cool about them.

This little shop of Horror pastries was a pretty cool stop to visit, unique and I'm pretty sure I could say more, if we had maybe gotten there a little earlier , when they had all of their show cases full of all their goodies, but from what we got to pick from ,the desserts were pretty tasty , definitely will revisit when In the area ,a must try is their fruit tart , super delicious as well as their macarons, super delicious, give it a try , this location is in the Wonderland of the Americas Mall in San Antonio

Awesome service but long line and sold out products. We went on a busy day and got a vanilla cone. Boo tart and a cold brew. Do not buy your toddler the ice cream, it stains your clothes, your mouth and hands. The stains did come out but we looked a mess the rest of the day. My husband is a coffee snob and did not like the cold brew. Spent a lot of money for the experience but only thing worth is here is the pastries

Strawberry shortcake cupcake and triple chocolate soft serve ice cream

Very disappointed. Instagram showed this bakery to me and I was excited about the theme and everything looked so good. Got there on a Sunday right when they opened and they didn't have anything. A few brownies and cupcakes. I got a strawberry shortcake cupcake and a their triple chocolate ice cream soft serve. The cupcake was not a strawberry shortcake, was just a dense white cake with white buttercream and a strawberry on top. The soft serve was very good but so over priced. It was 6$ for a small cup and I didn't get sprinkles because it was an EXTRA $4. So sad, I was looking forward to this all week

There were very limited fresh selections available, and many items were still being baked during opening hours. In my opinion, a bakery should open with the shelves fully stocked and ready for customers, especially those of us stopping in early. The prices are reasonable, ranging from about $2.50-$4.00 for both sweet and savory pastries, but price doesn't make up for the lack of availability. I expected to have more options to choose from instead of empty or partially filled displays. For consistency in early morning breakfast items, I could have easily gone to Krispy Kreme, where you know exactly what you're getting when the doors open. That said, 85°C is convenient and their mango smoothies are great. Overall, it's a decent spot, but I wouldn't recommend going first thing in the morning if you're expecting a full pastry selection.

We ordered: the Alamo Burger: a 8 oz wagyu beef smash burger , served with a fried egg, caramelized onions, cheese on a crispy croissant bun. It was incredible and worth the 15-20 minute wait! Luckily for me, I went the day after memorial day so the lines weren't that bad and the red carpet laid out in front of the restaurant was all clear. I grabbed a menu before it was my turn to order. It's a lot to choose from and without pictures it's difficult to tell what most of the items are. Especially for a first timer. So, I ordered what the gentleman in front of me had which was a plain croissant with butter. It looked better than it tasted. I chose not to use the butter because the croissant was cold so butter wouldn't take to it well. I also ordered a side of scrambled eggs with cheese and avocado. The eggs were delicious, cooked well and flavored nicely. But my avocados were oxidizing so the presentation wasn't appealing. My husband's breakfast scramble was filled with eggs. cheese, and turkey, but wasn't filled with flavor of any kind. It's a lively atmosphere. Great for large groups. There's seating outside so if you're feeling like sitting amongst pedestrians walking by, it's perfect. The service was slow. Really slow. I overheard they were backed up so by the time my macchiato was delivered I was almost done eating.
