I want to preface this by saying that I never write bad reviews. However, this experience was so horrible that I feel compelled to warn others to stay away from this property. If I could give them -5 stars I would. Terrible Customer Service & Deceptive Practices [[HIGHLIGHT]]At first, the staff seemed friendly and helpful, but that quickly changed.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They had a Look and Lease promotion, which I was interested in, but they made me jump through endless hoops--ultimately leading me to decide not to live there. Unreasonable Application Process [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I initially applied, my co-applicant did not qualify, but I qualified on my own. I informed them that I wanted to proceed without my co-applicant, and they told me I needed to send an email to request the removal.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]During this conversation, I was told that their "guest" policy only allowed a person to be on the property for seven days per month before they would need to be added to the lease. I asked for clarification on what they considered a "day," but they couldn't give me an answer.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] In all my years of renting, I have never heard of such a vague and ridiculous policy. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I told them I was driving and would send the email by 5:30 PM. Despite this, the leasing agent sent me an email saying that if I didn't respond by 5:15 PM, I would no longer qualify for the Look and Lease special. I responded at 5:18 PM, then called to explain that per our conversation, I had clearly stated I was driving and could only guarantee a response before 5:30 PM.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They reluctantly accepted my email and sent me the links to complete the second part of the application: income verification.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Ridiculous & Invasive Income Verification Process [[HIGHLIGHT]]I informed them that I would not provide bank statements because I already had payslips that clearly showed I far exceeded the minimum income requirement. The leasing agent initially agreed that this was sufficient.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The next day, they were supposed to call me with an update--but they didn't. I had to call multiple times just to get someone on the phone.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Then, suddenly, I was told that they needed to do an additional manual verification and that I now had to provide SIX MONTHS of bank statements. SIX MONTHS![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have rented many places and even purchased a car, and I have never been asked to provide that much financial history. Still, I agreed but stated that I would only show my deposits for privacy reasons.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I emailed SIX MONTHS of bank statements, SIX MONTHS of payslips for my two jobs, and screenshots of my employee portal for both jobs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]But that still wasn't enough. They told me I had to upload everything through their document verification website. I refused because they did not need full access to all of my financial transactions--only my deposits to verify income[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. Final Thoughts This was by far the most frustrating, invasive, and unprofessional rental experience I've ever had. They made this process unnecessarily difficult--all so they wouldn't have to honor the Look and Lease promotion. [[HIGHLIGHT]]STAY AWAY from this place. The staff is rude, the process is inconsistent, and it is not worth your time or energy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They will make you jump through unnecessary hoops for no reason. The apartment complex looks great HOWEVER after living here for a year I regret choosing to live here. The leasing office is basically there to trap you, once you live there trying to get a hold of one of them or getting assistance it's non existing. The gate is always broken so the homeless folks are always coming in and just making a mess in the trash bins. The door for the gym was broken for 3 or 4 months which meant anyone can get in there the homeless included. I spoke to some of the ladies at the time of the lock being broken they were scared to workout because there was a man always hanging out there for days. The deposit is "cheap" because they scam you so they can keep it. They want to charge for everything they're supposed to do anyways to get the apartment ready for the next person. Cleaning fees, paint, filling holes(which I did and paid someone to come deep clean but you know these leasing companies want to charge for everything). There is a California penal code that protects from all that and I was about to fight them on it but I think this review will be enough. Every time I saw someone touring the complex I wanted to yell don't do it! The two inspections before you are out of that place is a JOKE!! The stepped one foot in each room and said we're good so here I am thinking yes i am getting my deposit back..nope! There's always a party or get together going on in the pool so expect to be there with people that don't even live there. There's dog poop everywhere and i mean everywhere. This is the first apartment complex where I had some many bad experiences and I don't recommend you even apply here, too expensive, too scammy, too unhealthy with all the homeless and random people coming and going in amenities you pay for. Still now about 2 years of living here writing a prior comment almost a year ago about the problem of homeless people constantly going through the trash cans leaving the dumpsters a complete mess, drugs left on the floor with needles , going thru open garages & seen trying to open utility doors. If I ever have any issues or concerns Amber has always gone above and beyond on assisting me. Maintenance is always in point if something doesn't work. My move in process was so easy. This property is trash I moved in about six months ago and l submitted a work order about a month ago for a toilet handle and it still hasn't got done and all I see every day is the maintenance cart parked in the same spot for hours at a time. Please don't rent here!!! I've lived alone for almost a decade living in various apartments and communities, and I could say without a doubt this was the worst experience of my life. I lived in these apartments for 1 year. First off the parking is atrocious, you get one assigned parking and the rest is a free for all. I have two cars and my girlfriend was parking in the garage but every day I would get home from work there was never any parking. It was so bad I started parking on the street a block away. Overall the apartments look nice from the outside but it's all a lie. They are remodeled and the inside is old and not modern. The hallways were always dirty. The pool was always dirty and the gym was never clean. Also the gym closes early which sucks. [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you ever want help , no one answers phones or emails.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I think the worst experience was one day I come and there's a note on my door that said that the leasing office made an unannounced entry into my unit and found a carpet on the patio. They issued a fine for that. Never in my life has any apartment entered my home unannounced. So I decided to leave after my lease was over. Unfortunately the horror continued after I left. You see a week after I left they sent me my final bill. They took my deposit and charged me 900$ for mounting a tv and a shower caddy. More meth heads/ homeless people coming often to the complex despite it being a "gated community". Almost always, the gate remains open all day/night for anyone to enter. Find people inside trash bins making a total mess, sometimes can't even discard my own trash because people are inside. The "patrol" man who arrives around 1am is useless. I've reached out and complained about this issue via "resident service" through the company website and did not hear back from them. Perhaps, they will respond here??? Don't just respond to the "good reviews, tackle the ones that your tenants are having issues about and make it your concern. read more

If you want to be evacuated by the swat team every couple of months or be kept up nightly by police visits then you have come to the right place. I never had anxiety until moving here. I've been reading these reviews here on Yelp, and I thought it only fair to let y'all know that we have been here for a year, and have been very happy with The Grove, so we just renewed our lease. Open floor plan, 9' ceilings, noise reducing windows, fast maintenance when needed, landscaping and pools well maintained, few neighbor noises as expected, etc. MGT: Yes, the Krystel management days were bad, but she and her staff were let go and the new staff has been very pro-active with everything. Philicia and Aracelli have been very helpful with lease renewal, gate repairs, non-resident parking complaints, and overall renter experience. Yard care comes weekly and they do a great job. Trees have been trimmed. DEPOSIT: The deposit is only a few hundred dollars (mine was $200) and I don't expect to get that back. The final utility bill for water, trash and sewer comes out of that deposit. BREAK-INS: Yes, it happens. Don't leave valuables in your car, ever, anywhere, and not here either. Lock the doors to your car and garage, people will check them. Unfortunately. Per Neighborhood Watch program, PLEASE report break-in's to the police, they need to know. read more

I have been a resident of The Grove since 2013--I am a Grove "veteran." Sure, things have changed over the years, some for the better, some for the worse. But I am not a delusional person who has crazy, unreasonable expectations in a community of over 250 households. I am a chill guy who minds his own business and who does not complain about anything until a neighbor has forgotten their own boundaries and their comfort has encroached upon my own. I will not confront anyone--I'm not crazy. I will let management handle any out-of-hand situation. That is common sense. I have not had any of the bad experiences that some other people have claimed. Some residents are generally unhappy people who expect to be treated as though they are living in a 5-Star hotel. They look for problems to complain about any little thing. And then they feel that management should psychically know about all issues. When a person looks for problems, of course they will find something miniscule. But doesn't that tell more about the person than the silliness they have "discovered?" And in come cases, created themselves. The layout of The Grove campus is great to the extent that one doesn't realize how many residents there actually are here. The interior floors are concrete. The walls are cinderblock. There are built-in fire sprinklers. There are garage options, in-unit full washers and dryers, central air, dishwashers, microwaves, frige, huge bathrooms, private-ish terraces, metal (kick proof) doors and so much more. There are not many apartment complexes that offer these simple things that make a world of difference in one's life. As far as vehicle break-ins? Well, why would you leave your laptop setting on your front seat? That is cuckoo, anywhere. Methheads lined-up by the back gates and rampant drug deals? Stop buying/selling to/from them then maybe they will go away. That is a police issue, not a property ownership issue. If a person is witnessing a crime, they should report it to Ontario Police Department on Archibald instead of whining about it on Yelp. But those issues are few and far between and came in waves. What does one expect? That people should be judged and stereotyped and be subjected to bigotry before they may become a resident here? Again, ridiculousness. Let's recap. Over 250 households. Let's for the sake of argument say there are two people in each household. Now, Imagine a group of 500 people in their own homes. Do you think out of that many people that there will not be someone with behavior that you do not favor? Well, what do you do that other people may not favor? The bottom line is The Grove is cool but you will have some people who do not know how to mind their business. Just act like you have some sense, be considerate of your neighbors, don't boom your music, pick up your trash and dog poo, don't block people's garages, don't spill drip lines from your cheap trash bags to stain your entire path and try to be neighborly and flash a smile whenever you can. There are people from different ethnic, racial and religious groups. There are multi-generational people here. And all in all, everyone is nice. I would not have been spending the money that I have been to live here as long as I have if it is bad here. And those weirdos who complain over silly things really should understand the nature of community housing. If they do not like it, as a leasing agent had told me years ago, there is a constant waiting list for the unit that you're in. Reality check. As for security, you have the option of hiring an alarm company, installing cameras inside your unit and taking common sense precautions. Why would you buy a $2,000 bike and leave it on your first floor terrace? That's not very smart. There is a front gate but it does not offer a whole lot of security since people are constantly coming and going and some people wait and piggy-back in. Maybe one day The Grove will install a guard shack and hire a security guard to one-by-one allow people in. I have not had any security issues, though. I had a recent issue that pertained to a neighbor's pet. It was promptly, personally and professionally handled by Milan once it was brought to his attention. I know that I am not living in a 5 Star hotel but Milan certainly made me feel that way--with follow-up. As far as apartment complexes go, The Grove has been a great home for me. And representatives such as Milan has been "the cherry on top" of the aforementioned amenities. Milan was not satisfied until I was satisfied. Now how many people can we say serve customer service excellence in our lives? Milan definitely is kickass in my book. I love that guy. His attention left me feeling... amazing. I wonder if he's single? Hmm... I digress. Hahaha! The Grove is cool. Milan is awesome. This is my home. I am happy here until it comes time for me to purchase property once, again. read more

Hi guys, I'm a current resident and I must say I thought I would renew my lease, but unfortunately I cant ahit to leave. 6 months ago I commented on Google and gave a review about these apartments. Management contacted and basically nothing has been done. I told the manager that the people upstairs make a lot of noise, running, stomping etc. I was told by the manager that she would need to come into my apartment and hear the noise, like I'm lying. She never came nor contacted me again about the situation. It literally sounds like a bowling ball dropping. I suffer from migraines, not to mention my husband and I commute far to work and have to come home to this noise. Long story short management doesnt care about complaints about other residence they just ignore you. Other residence here have told me things, but I had to see for myself and i did. So many great things to say about Dickson and Yvonne at The Grove. Once I made contact they both were so supportive, helpful, and made the process of qualifying for my own apartment so easy. Instructions were very clear and easy to complete. Dickson answered ALL of my questions and I had a lot. Yvonne was very nice and seemed very engaged with her team and how they are doing, as the manager. Dickson really enjoys what he does and it shows to those around him. He just has a great attitude. I had initial maintenance items upon first inspection and maintenance was quick and efficient in resolving the items on my list. I had one less than stellar experience, with a different team member, during this process and hoping that it was just an off day. I am looking forward to a great time living here. read more

Place looks just like the pictures they provided online. Thanks to the new guy Josh, we somehow experienced great customer service with him the first time we checked out the place. My fiance and I called back today and spoke to Eileen and was looking forward onto filling out an application and she mentioned that she will be taking a "30"minute lunch at 230pm so she should be back at 3pm. By the tone of her voice she already seem uninterested to even help us. But that didn't stop us from applying so we went before her supposedly lunch time and got there at 2:15pm but the clock sign showing will return at 3:00 is already posted on the office door and door was already locked. I moved in at the end of February '16 & I have loved living here. Denise & Ilene are so helpful and kind. They never make you feel like you're a bother. The Grove Apartments provide doggy poo bags as well as doggy poo trash cans throughout the complex. It makes cleaning up after your pet so convenient. The scenery is really very pretty. Large trees throughout. The pool is beautiful, and it never gets crowded. The gym is really nice, I should have used it more. The people seem quiet and keep to themselves mostly. My downstairs neighbor is a nightmare... But she's the exception, everyone else is nice enough. I'm able to hear the neighbors above me, which can be annoying. I've got very use to it though and it doesn't even bother me much anymore. I Garage access to the hallway of your building has been really nice. The apartment I live in is a Birch and I love it. The long entry way is so beautiful. The layout is nice, and bedrooms are large and spacious!! The esthetics of the apartment are very pretty. I moved in to a unit with replaced carpet, which is fabulous and in my opinion better quality than your average apartment. Overall I love living here. I would stay unfortunately but my children's school is 9 miles away and I won't make the drive.. I hope to find a place as beautiful as this. Denise and Ilene really are great. I dont feel safe here any more meth heads hanging out at back gate . My car and neighbors car have been broken into 2 weeks apart . Leasing office allowing all the ghetto people to move here and it very obvious fights and alcohol use at the pool I feel like I live in a low income housing comunnity not what I signed up for .. management doesn't care courtesy patrol sleep in his car gone by 8pm .. the security at the apartment community THE PALOMA across the street is way better and they are strict have have a no tolerance policy. Was also informed they do background check to make sure that u are not a danger to the community .. This was once a nice place not anymore. They are more concerned with remodeling than the safety of the community.. like a said before this has truly turned into a low income low class housing complex I will be headed to The Paloma once my lease is up .. more money but at least I will feel safe and not have to worry if my car will be broken into or meth heads won't be standing at the exit gate a 9pm waiting for one of the dealers in one of the buildings to come out and give the their next hit .. it has come to a point where I have now purchased video surveillance for my apt and car for now read more

Let me tell you guys since the moment I called,showed up and toured the complex my experience was amazing ! Milan was very informative over the phone and attentive to what I was looking for . He actually took the time to answer all my questions and my husbands. He showed us every space in the location without us feeling rushed !
