Came here after work one day with co workers. Cute space- literally like the name, felt cozy. I guess besides the fact that the table next to us was pretty distracting. They were loud and obnoxious so it was hard to concentrate on our conversation. Anyway... Shout out to the bar tender , she was great! Drinks were good- lots of variety! Unfortunately we were too early for happy hour. We ordered plates to share and price range was decent. Food was mediocre. dessert was terrible! Brownie bites- do yourself a favor and don't order. They literally tasted like they were baked in an easy bake oven. We low key wanted to send them back... it was like it was not fully cooked- consistency was mush. There were a few food items that were enjoyable (fish tacos) but not memorable. Parking is difficult in this area but they do have valet.

What a great spot! Always passed by this place, but now I see why there is often a wait. Nice breezy, garden ambience- friendly staff! My water cup was always filled. The food itself was delicious and fresh. I played it safe with eggs benedict and OJ- both were delicious and really liked the fresh potatoes too. Such a lovely spot, and would definitely come back for brunch.

A couple of girlfriends and I got together last night at The Guest House and we had an almost good first experience. What ruined it? Dogs barking relentlessly the last hour/hour and a half we were there. I love dogs just as much as the next person but why, as an establishment do you allow folks to bring their dogs indoors and subject everyone else to the noise disturbance? I won't go on a rant about how I feel about the inconsiderate dog owners but will definitely not be coming back here. I ordered the lil bit of passion and some nachos. The drink was delicious, the nachos were disappointing. The brussel sprouts I do recommend they were my favorite and all the food and drinks come out insanely fast. Unfortunately the experience wasn't good enough to come back and risk hearing dogs bark back and forth the entire night.

Home was full for brunch and I couldn't get seated. However, Isabel the bartender at Guest House, showed me the hack to sit at the bar and I got excellent service. Isabel is an amazing bartender. The pancakes were solid and I love the vibe. I'll be coming to Guest House during the morning rushes now!

The Guest House is attached to the Home Restaurant, with shared patios and restrooms. It mainly functions as a full bar specializing in cocktails, and also serves light bites and regular food menu, basically same with the main restaurant.

The best Chinese chicken salad I have ever eaten!! This was hands down the thing to eat!!! The service and bartenders were fantastic the drinks were great! Everyone was super attentive!! The ambiance was trendy cool and a fun!! Sexy!

    Perfect afternoon!

Tucked away in a charming Craftsman bungalow on Hillhurst Ave, The Guest House is a true neighborhood gem. The vibe is cozy and inviting, with vintage decor, comfy couches, and a leafy patio that feels like a hidden retreat from the buzz of Los Feliz. Food: The menu is built for sharing--perfect for casual meals or happy hour. The fried chicken sandwich is crispy perfection, the fries are seriously addictive, and the pasta is always a crowd-pleaser. Vegetarians and vegans have solid options, especially during happy hour (7+ apps!). Don't miss the Nachos with Soyrizo. Breakfast all day is a dream for those of us who love eggs at 6 PM. Soup changes daily--Curry Broccoli & Cheese might sound odd, but trust me, curry makes everything better. Faves: My go-tos vary depending on my workday. After a 16-hour shift, nothing beats mac 'n' cheese with mashed potatoes--pure comfort. The Huevos Rancheros may not be traditional, but they are savory AF. Craving steak without the stuffy vibes? Try the Medallion Fillets. And Eggs Benedict? Their hollandaise is creamy perfection, not that runny mess you get elsewhere. Happy Hour: $8 drinks and apps. Enough said. The Mango Habanero Wings are a hit (you can get sauce on the side), and the Sriracha Fries? Next-level addictive. I joke that they caused the Sriracha shortage... but only kind of. Drinks: This is where The Guest House shines. Craft cocktails, local beers, and wine--all curated with care. The blood orange margarita is a standout. Try the $5 mystery shot (trust the process), or ask for the bartender's choice. Frozen rosé and a kid-friendly tropical slush (banana-piña colada vibes) are also on deck. Yep--this spot is family-friendly. I once saw a toddler celebrating his birthday on the patio while the staff cheered. Atmosphere & Service: It's hard to beat the relaxed, stylish energy here. Whether you're brunching, day drinking, or reading solo with a cocktail, it always feels like home. The staff? Absolute stars. Friendly, attentive, and down-to-earth. I've been coming here regularly for two months and have never had a bad experience. It's a true locals' spot, and the bartenders are the kind of people you want to hang with after a long week. Dog-Friendly AF: Dogs are royalty here. The owners greet pups like old friends, sometimes even surprising them with a plain chicken meal. My friend's dog, Bear, was skeptical of crowds--now he acts like The Guest House is his second home. Everyone knows his name. He's basically the mayor. Insider Tips (because no one else is giving you the real hacks): Parking: Street parking in the neighborhood is your best bet--just a short walk to the bar. That said, they do offer valet service for $10, which is a steal in this area. Friendly Vibes: Locals tend to sit at the bar, and they're super welcoming. Don't be shy--start a conversation! Mystery Shot Rule: Don't ask what it is. It's called a mystery shot for a reason. Embrace the unknown. Neighborhood Stroll: This area is extremely walkable, so take a little time to explore before or after your visit. Hike & Hydrate: Love hiking? Hit Griffith Park, then reward yourself with a feast at The Guest House--mimosas, Bloody Marys, margaritas... you've earned it. Fries Hack: Take your leftover fries home and turn them into poutine. Seriously--the fries are incredible. You can take the girl out of Canada, but you can't take the Canadian out of the girl. Want the recipe? Message me! Final Thoughts: You can catch the hottest NBA, NFL, or MLB game. Not a sports bar (only one TV!), but a stylish, high-end cocktail lounge with zero pretension. Think "quiet luxury" with neighborhood soul. Written With Neighborhood Love, Mya

Came here for happy hour one time with some friends. We had a cozy high table for three of us. Because we ordered some food as well, it was a bit tight, but it was nice. They were playing sports on TV when we came and the vibes were nice. There were some cute booths and couches if we had seen them earlier. The service was a little spotty, which knocks off a star but other than that, it was a good time. The food and drinks were all $8. Had the moscow mule which was pretty good and then switched to beer. The skinny zucchini were basically shoestring zucchini fries and those were delicious. The wings and the brussel sprouts were also good options. Overall a cool place and would come back again!

Brussels Sprouts, Mango Habanero Wings, sriracha fries
    Thuyvi T.

My friend and I have been making it a weekly tradition to explore as many Silver Lake restaurants as we can after work, and we stumbled upon this gem on Election Night. It was happy hour, so the prices were really reasonable. We tried the brussels sprouts, mango habanero chicken wings (with sauce on the side), and sriracha fries. The brussels sprouts were by far my favorite--sweet, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The fries had just the right amount of seasoning, and the wings were cooked to perfection. The bartenders were friendly and made us feel right at home. We ended up chatting with them about everything from the election to TV shows, and the other customers were just as welcoming. We ended up talking with them for over an hour and a half--such a great vibe all around. The ambiance had a unique mix of vintage and modern vibes that I absolutely loved. It felt stylish and cozy, which was the perfect setting to unwind after a long day. 10/10 would absolutely come back. Can't wait to make this spot a regular in our rotation!

And it doesn't leave me wanting more. The presentation looks great for pictures but don't be fool. The food and drink is mediocre. The ac should be turned on for air flow since it's such a small hole in the wall bar style sitting with very low ceiling. Hardly any room to walk when there's ppl sitting down on the stool. So the stuffiness and being hot made the experience even more unpleasant. On top of all that, the lady behind the counter was touching everything including the food with her bare hands. Not once did I see her wash it between preparing, servings and cleaning the counter. Plus, napkins wasn't given when needed. When asked, she handed one tiny thin small square napkin per person ‍. Sanitation and cleanliness for the food isn't all there for the $100 mandatory tips per person is ridiculous to me. Tips shouldn't be mandatory anywhere. Plus, even with the time of our reservation. The host, John, emailed us to change our time to a later schedule.. like from 6pm to 9pm. Are you kidding me? If we wanted that time slot then we would have picked it instead of making reservation at 6pm on a Thursday night. Overall, it's just a one time experience that doesn't make me go wow.. I wouldn't want to come back because the food and drinks pairing doesn't go well together. I had better.

OVERALL It was nice to slip into The Famous Bar for the first time in over a decade, and if I found myself spending time in downtown Glendale again, I'd consider another visit. Sadly, I try to avoid the highly congested area as much as possible. I loved the fact that they had a daily happy hour (4pm-7pm) and late-night SU-TH happy hours (10:30pm-close), so there was always a deal to be found. The drinks were the main reason you came, while the food was just an add-on. The prices were elevated, but you had a good menu selection of libations (nice local craft beer list) to choose from. The customer service was easy, friendly, and straightforward. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $42.00 BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...
