Frozen greek yogurt with De-Constructed Baklava
Sophie T.

Came here for the froyo! Ordered the frozen Greek yogurt with deconstructed baklava ($10). It was a bit icier than I prefer, but I did like the Greek yogurt flavor. The tartness blended well with the deconstructed baklava. Didn't feel too heavy as a dessert

If you want some really COLD food not even a little of warm and full taste of paprika you find the place. The gyro project make it !!! $15.95 for a cold sandwich doesn't sound fair to me and not to much gyro in the pita. The bowl was ok potatoes was warm gyro again was cold rice was ok. Not impressed.

Huge fan of the gyro project. Excellent addition to the neighborhood. It is really nice to have an affordable, fast, convenient and healthy option that is open late (10 pm). I really appreciate the exceptionally warm customer service, the clean dining space and how fresh and tasty the produce is. They also have something for everyone and handle food allergies well. I always get a bowl with the chicken shwarma (this version of their chicken is marinated in yogurt so not for those with dairy allergies) but it is alway so succulent and delicious. I choose half vegetable slaw and half rice- love that option and then whatever vegetables I am in the mood for- always fresh. The babaganoush and hummus are great, thought the baba is without a doubt superior to the hummus, as it is SO flavorful. You may have complimentary pita chips if you choose. The bowl is enough for me for 2 meals. Another favorite is their greek yogurt- I love the samoa with the plain yogurt- look at this beauty- just divine! My mom usually gets the yogurt plain with honey or the deconstructed baklava, my dad likes the preserved cherries. The rice pudding and baklava are also great They also have platters and sandwiches. Join their app for $5 off your first order, loyalty points on every purchase and quick seamless pick ups when you're in a hurry Thank you Gyro Project!

The host & Cashiers are all beautiful within and truly enjoy welcoming you as their special guest; to The Gyro Project. The secret behind The Gyro Project, is to feel as if you're in Greece, enjoying their true genuine hospitality and delectable food. They are absolutely amazing and correct; 1000% spot on.

A very solid fast Greek food option in the area! I had the beef and lamb gyro with rice and slaw, lemon potatoes, dolmades, tzatziki, hummus and pita. Everything was very tasty. The lemon potatoes are the best, so so so good! I can taste the citrus in it. It's the small round potatoes cut in half. The only other places I've had it this good is in Astoria and it's cut from the big potatoes. They have a deal on their app for $5 off upon signing up. Ordering in the app is easy. Pickup was easy too. They have multiple locations also. This one has a small entrance but it's big inside. It's on a corner and under scaffolding. There are quite a few tables. It's near Central Park, so you can take-out and eat in the park too.

I was in the neighborhood and really eager to try the Greek yogurt froyo. I ordered original which comes with olive oil and sea salt. SO good. I really love the dense texture of the froyo. The yogurt is tart but still decadent. The olive oil on top was a perfect balance. Love the evil eye branding! Can't wait to go back and try their hot food!

I love this spot it's so fresh and good. I'm biased when it comes to Greek food but honestly I like gooooood Greek food. It's my jam. This spot has such a good club sandwich that i always get for my kids. The service is quick and the food is fresh and the atmosphere is chill.

The Gyro Project knows how to make a first impression, and for me, it was all about the dip sampler. Generous, flavorful, and varied--though I found myself rationing the pita like it was a prized commodity. A bit more bread would've turned a great spread into a perfect one. The spicy feta stood out as the undisputed champion: creamy, bold, and with just enough kick to make you pause mid-conversation. To wash it down, I tried the Greek mountain tea with lemon and honey. Served cold brew, it was exactly the kind of refreshing drink you want when catching up with friends--bright, fragrant, and satisfyingly strong in flavor without being overwhelming. The space itself is inviting, with plenty of seating that never feels cramped. For our group of four, it struck just the right note: comfortable enough to settle in, polished enough to feel like more than just a quick stop. Thoughtful food, a pleasant atmosphere, and flavors that linger--definitely worth a revisit (next time, I'll just ask for extra pita upfront).

Came in for the deconstructed baklava greek frozen yogurt and it did not disappoint. I'd come back to have it again.

Shawarma Chicken Bowl with Lemon Potatoes

My new favorite fast casual Mediterranean spot! I've been here a few times and they have the best food and staff by far! I don't feel rushed because the staff at this location are so nice no matter how busy it is! The ordering set up is similar to a Chipotle, and simpler than any of the other fast casual Mediterranean restaurants and chains. They don't try to provide all of the fix ins under the sun where it can get overwhelming or offer so many add ons that cost extra. When creating your own pita/bowl/salad, they provide a few options each of proteins, sauce, and sides that are all done really well. They have the usual shaved gyro meat, big chunks of grilled chicken or pork, and chicken shawarma. They're some of the best lemon potatoes I've had in the city. And they have unique and well dressed/spiced sides like their Greek Slaw and Israeli Salad. They also have frozen yogurt and a pretty nice selection of savory and sweet pastries.

The Gyro Project in New York, NY. "Opa your mouth"....now on the Upper West Side! Now with their third location they are serving fresh, fast causal Greek Food. This is not your typical fast service place in NYC-The Gyro Project has fresh and healthy ingredients that will fulfill your Greek Food craving. I absolutely loved the gyro and the gyro Greek salad was mixed PERFECTLY! Love this spot! Love the decor! Chicken Gyro Beef & Lamb Gyro Beef & Lamb Gyro Greek Salad Greek Croquettes-Crispy cheese puffs stuffed with kefalotiri cheese and drizzled with Mike's Hot Honey. A beloved but mid corner baker has a new life. Gyro project is fantastic! The serve gyro & schwarma sandwiches & bowls plus incredible fro-yo. While it doesn't have the fish like Grk from Greece or the niche Pi bakery goods, it's fresh and delicious. Ate: veg bowl with falafel OG Greek yogurt with sour cherries Total:$22 I tasted the chicken gyro cause how could I not. Yummy bowl, I could eat this over and over again. The fro-yo was tart and silky goodness- wow!!!

Thank you Gyro Project, Hailey P., and Yelp for this Yelp Elite event. I took the 1 train to 72nd street and it brings me to Gyro Project. The place opens at 11 AM. The staffs were friendly and I was able to order from the menu. Some picked gyro, some picked the bowl. You can add fries to it and choose your meat. You tell the cashier that you're with Yelp Elite and they will search your name. This comes with a complementary drink. Remember to tip small businesses! Food was delicious! Utentils are on the side. Would recommend coming here! Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambience: 5/5

Elea has an outdoor shed which was covered and very nice. We got a table in this shed with our baby and dog. The service was friendly. We ordered several dishes to share, the fried calamari, grilled octopus and lavraki, all on the lunch menu. I really enjoyed every single dish! I was so craving the fried calamari and this really hit the spot, I loved the dipping sauce (which was a light tomato's based sauce but it was not exactly marinara). I loved the octopus especially with hummus! And the fish which was a lot with 2 fillets of lavraki with a large portion of spinach! So yummy, we will absolutely be back and can't wait!

Started with the olives, big and briny, then the spanikopita and three dips and pita. The dips, fine, nothing special, not very prettily presented, especially the fava, which was a heavy tasteless dud. The pita was cold and something you could pick up at a supermarket. But then things looked up. The grilled shrimp were plump and beautiful on a bed of salad and oranges. The mussels were delicious, with broth and tomato and feta and two big chunks of grilled bread - why couldn't they do this with the pita? Wine by the glass good and service was very nice but I think we only saw our server twice. Once was when she presented our check with the 20, 22, 25 option. But all in all it was pleasant! Lots of families if you have kids and want a nice dinner in a place that makes kids comfortable.

The mussels were tender and served in a delicious, flavorful broth. The moussaka was rich, creamy, and clearly homemade. The grilled tsipura was incredibly fresh, cooked perfectly, and simply seasoned to let the quality of the fish shine. The crust was a little hard but I liked the fresh spread, I would recommend adding some olive oil, salt and pepper for more flavor. I got the traditional Greek salad. The salad was good. I love the tomatoes they tasted fresh. Though found myself wanting to add more salt and pepper for more flavor to pop. The dressing was good for dipping the bread in too. The octopus was delicious. Very fresh. Good portion. It was seared perfectly. I love how it was cut for me too, nice and tender. Not too chewy. The dill and capers were a nice touch. Seems the staff remember familiar faces, very friendly and all Greek. Altogether it was $64 which I find very pricey. The octopus was priced at $31 which wasn't bad. But the salad being $28 seems extreme. Overall a nice experience. Bit of a wait for the food
