I've been to this location 2-3x now and I am always impressed with the size of the restaurant compared to the one in Davie. It's so much bigger! I really enjoy the combo platter ($14 )and even though I am tempted with some of their other items on their menu, I personally have to stick to the combo platter just because it's so hard to come by for me! Walking in last night, they were making fresh chicken and told me it would be about a 5 minute wait. I watched them grill it and their timing was precise. It was exactly 5 minutes later as I got back into line and completed my order. The rice was dwindling down and I asked if they had fresh rice. Absolutely horrible location, the company owners should pop in one day and pay this place a visit so they can see what they're selling to customers. I walked in last night to get a chicken and beef platter, there was a ton of stale old chicken left and little to no rice, so I asked the employee if I can get some fresh chicken seeing they were cooking some on the stovetop. She told me it would be a 15 minute wait. I then proceeded to to wait over 30 mins on the chicken to be done. So I asked the lady to make me a fresh plate of rice chicken beef etc. She gave me such the rudest attitude because I asked her to make me a fresh plate, knowing she took the rice and beef up 30 mins ago and it was just sitting there. So she goes to the stove top and gives me the least amount of chicken she possibly can, and when I ask for more she goes No with a smile... absolutely horrible service I wouldn't spend a dollar here ever again. I generally love this chain, but this location is garbage. I walked in to the store, walk up to the counter, nobody says a thing to me. The 2 employees carried on their conversation for 5 minutes before finally addressing me. When they finally did, I placed my order, and they inefficiently went about it. They periodically went back to their conversation, and doing other things, like closing activities, even though I arrived 30 minutes before close. For a year, I had already stopped coming here, but felt like I would give it another try. It's like there is zero structure or management at all. How do you stay in business? This place is just north of Cypress Creek Road across from Hooters. There's a Jersey Mike's, Chipotle, Blaze Pizza and a few other places to eat at in this strip mall. I was going for Chipotle, but the line was to the front door. This place had no line and two customers sitting at separate tables. I ordered some chicken in a tinfoil bowl, with yellow rice, a few chopped pieces of tomatoe, some shredded lettturce topped with maybe 12 very small pieces of chicken and some pita bread. They offer a few different sauces. The white one I ordered contained over 300 calories and came in a manufacturer's package...barely used it. The dish was overly salted and I didn't finish it. Would've been better off going to Publix Supermarket for half a fresh sub and for half the price. On a side note, the dining area was a mess with dirty tables, there was no soap in the men's room, poop all over the toilet seat, toilet paper on the floor and the workers didn't seem proud to be working there. I will NEVER come back here and I don't recommend you try it. It was a waste of almost $14. The owner's comment to my review is laughable, as they will not be in business by the time January 1, 2022 arrives. read more

The customer service was great. Both people working were helpful and kind. The restaurant was nice and tidy. The negative of my experience is that my online order was not ready at the time of pickup. They began my order when I said I was there to pick it up. I didn't want to wait hence placing the order online in advance. The food was rather dry. The beef gyro itself seemed like it was old and had been over cooked. There were a lot of crunchy bits on the gyro. It also lacked a good flavor. It was just bland. I found this restaurant while I was going to chipotle next door, but I couldn't help but notice this novelty of a restaurant when I left. My friend and I vowed we would come back to eat at this mystique place. My anticipation was through the roof throughout the next week as a craved for the halal. Then it finally came, we went in and saw a very calm and mannorful ambiance. I got in line and couldn't help but notice the assortment of food options at my disposal. I went for chicken on my first visit with tomatoes, lettuce, jalapeños and the usual rice, pita bread and white sauce. As I digged in I couldn't help but notice that it was a great meal, topping even the chipotle I loved. The sauce perfectly complimented the chicken and rice and felt very much like a combination of chipotle variety and chicken kitchen-esque taste. However I did have some complaints, mostly on how the portions were but I know next time to fix that. My one gripe was that the pita bread could be better, but from a "fast food" chain it is what is expected. In conclusion this was a truly marvelous experience and I will definitely come again read more

The halal guys at this location is a pleasant surprise for those live up north as it's much closer than the one in Miami. The place is pretty decent size with a capacity of over 100 people inside. Place is nice and clean and staff is friendly. Portion are of decent size as they are at other locations. Food was fresh but not so hot as we were first set of customers that evening and I think food was already prepared but later on the folks that came got hot out fresh, oh well!! I've been a fan of the Halal Guys for awhile and especially this location. The guys who work here are some of the friendliest people I've ever dealt with. The atmosphere is so laid back and welcoming. And I can tell they get along with each other too, not that it really matters for food quality, but it really helps the atmosphere overall. My go-to is the platter. In my opinion it's the better option because it just looks bigger. I sometimes like to get the mix because I'll want both lamb and chicken, but it all depends on the mood. It comes with a side which can be fries, falafel, hummus or baba ganouj. The combo also comes with a drink too. Weirdly I think my favorite part of the meal is the rice. I don't know what spices they took this in (I'm sure I can easily find this by Google, but the mystery is fine with me), but I just want to inhale every grain as fast as I can. The meals are made to order so they are fresh and made exactly to you're liking. The portions are big. The prices are cheap. And make sure to add the white sauce to your meal. read more

Sauce it up - Things which make this place different than others- their white sauce is like none other. Their hot sauce is one of the most burning hot sauces there are. What I order- I love the combo platter with the rice and few pieces of pita. It's with chicken and gyro meat. In toppings I only get tomato. I keep it real simple because that's what they are known for. Their fresh ingredients that aren't over done and always taste just right with the sauces. I was waiting for this location to open. So happy there is one near my work now. I've tried multiple locations including the original in NYC, they are very consistent. We like (and eat) a lot of Mediterranean/middle eastern food. I'd watched this storefront with its "opening soon" sign for months -- looking forward to trying it. I'd not been to their other south Florida branches (they have 4), but had read mixed reviews. It is located in a busy strip of other restaurants on the east side of North Andrews, so it has a lot of competition. We've seen a number of restaurants come and go here. They offer platters, sandwiches (wraps) and sides. I wanted just some hummus topped with gyro meat. They only offer hummus as a side, so I wound up getting a small gyro "platter". This is a small aluminum tin in which (like a bowl place) they put all your food. Platters usually include rice, lettuce, tomato and pita. I got my "platter" without rice or pita. They put in some shredded iceberg lettuce and chopped tomatoes then topped that with the pre-sliced beef gyros. And they added an ice cream sized scoop of hummus. I had them top it with paprika.As they don't have sumac or salad dressing, I asked for some oil and their mayo based white sauce to mix together to make my own. The gyro meat was dry and barely warm. The hummus was just okay -- no real pizzazz or flavor. I went back to the counter and got some salt which helped but... My husband got a small felafel platter. They had just cooked the felafel, so they were hot. He got all the usual ingredients and added a scoop of hummus plus they gave him a flat piece of pita rolled in foil. The pita was served cold. He added hot sauce to his platter. A guy who saw him asked if they'd warned him about the hot sauce. He said yes. But my husband didn't think the hot sauce was that hot... I'm glad we went to try it. Millions of hundreds of thousands of people have been asking me to review this place, so I finally will. You're welcome, everyone. Down with a little bit of the Cove19, I've been craving certain foods but simultaneously not eating anything, and this got caught in the crossfire. Due to a 3rd party delivery service and their taxes on service fees and convinience fees and "free*" delivery fee with delivery fee taxes and also delivery fees....yep, thats a thing. It cost about $73 for 2 sandwiches and a platter, before tip. But it's all good, I never judge a place by it's price. I stick to that theory of if you can't afford it, don't buy it, and if you do or don't buy it, don't judge it unless it's hidden fees. But they're straight forward and up front, they directly tell you that you'll likely need a 2nd mortgage if you plan on said 3rd party delivery service. That said, People that know me know THG (the halal guys) has a special place in my heart. I loved it from the first time I've tried it to now, likely the 50th time I've tried it. It's more quick-food than fast food. Comparing it to mcdonalds isn't fair at all, but you will get your food fast, it'll be slightly greasy, and you're gonna love it...but you're not going to feel like crud after. I got my 2 favorites, as well as more, but not a lot more for $73 (pre tip). I got their fries which scream frozen, but they were shockingly satisfying. Lightly seasoned, undetermined if that was pre or post deep frying the frozen crinkles or not but it was sufficient but for $5 was definitely profitable for them. I also got a side of their jalapenos, which are also nearly guaranteed to be pickled from a jar, but I'm not mad about it, they're alright. And on to the main entrees. The platter is super consistent over the years - delicious. Their sandwiches (which I would probably call a gyro) are the same - delish but also super messy. The better bang for the buck and keeping your hands clean is definitely the platter but you wont be unhappy with either the platter or sandwich. Almost everything they offer seems frozen or from a bag or jar, but who cares. It's awesome. Go get some and decide for your self. Definitely grab more of their sauce (both red and white) than you want, just trust me. Like seriously, $5 is barely a gallon of gas these days, hand them a lincoln and request as much sauce as that will buy. All that said, I can't comment on the service since it was delivered, but it was a typical awesome experience. But the bang for the buck can't be given 5 stars (blame the 3rd party delivery fees). I don't hate on peoples prices but it can't be called "As good as it gets" for what i paid for a couple meals. read more

When I went inside, the customer service was subpar no energy at all. Then when we got our food, it's not warm at all. Tastes very much like cardboard. I ordered a platter with double beef. The meat is dry. The rice is dry. The best thing about this place is the white sauce and they charge you an extra 99¢ if you want a white sauce packet which is actually ridiculous! And to top it off, I ordered the lemonades. I got a passionfruit lemonade and a hibiscus lemonade and they did not taste like lemonade. They tasted like sweet tea. I usually go to Hala Guys for their Gyro Platters with the white sauce....and I usually like the beef over the chicken because the beef to me is more juicier than the chicken. I went to this location because it us very close to my office and the staff is always friendly and polite. This location in particular is much bigger than the one in Davie, FL so it's a great spot for groups and meetings. This time around I tried their limited time offer of lamb and it did not disappoint. The lamb was very flavorful and it complemented well with the rice, white sauce, red hot sauce and BBQ sauce. Didn't have high expectations of the lamb at a fast food joint but I was proven wrong and I'd definitely hope they bring it back soon! read more

First time trying halal was of course in NY! Loved it it's just soo good i can't really explain it lol. I found this place here not too far from my house and decided to give it a try, obviously it doesnt beat NY but it's good and i come here from time to time. I usually get the chicken platter which comes with rice, lettuce,tomato, pita bread, and you can toppings like onions etc.. it's then topped off with theijt white sauce which i love! 3.5 stars - I was excited that Halal opened up in a neighborhood near me. However, they are still working the kinks of being a new place and have some things to improve. I will say that the service was really great and the employees are all very friendly. The establishment is also really clean. I ordered the falafel platter which comes with yellow rice, tomatoes, lettuce, a few pieces of pita, and 5 falafel pieces. It was ok. The food wasn't very hot, and the falafel itself was ok. They have sauces for toppings and they're both great! Fair warning, the hot sauce really is quite spicy. Thankfully the food was good but the service, HORRIBLE. Entire time I'm there the staff is engaging with each other as if customers aren't even there. The staff proceeded to have a debate or argument over white sauce and how many bottles are being used while my food sits there not being bagged. I had to ask someone to bag my food so I can leave. There are plenty of places hiring if the staff is unhappy, which is how it seems. I may also add I am from NYC and while living there I would frequent your food carts and I have had a better experience and service at your street carts. My friend and I tried this place yesterday for lunch on Saturday, we got there at about 2:00pm. I love falafel and it is close to where I live. We were both disappointed. I ordered the falafel sandwich and first off, to get humus which is a traditional part of a falafel sandwich or platter, you had to pay $1.50 extra. I decided to just get the tahini and white sauce. They give you a choice of vegetables to put inside such as tomatoes, olives, peppers, etc. It cost $9.99 and that did not come with any side, and it was just an average size. I could have gone to a sit down restaurant and gotten a falafel sandwich that would come with fries for just a couple of dollars more. It tasted good but not great. My friend ordered a gyro platter and she said the meat was dry. What bothered me the most was that the tables had food scrapes from previous customers and the two counter people did not clean them the whole time we were there which was about an hour. And they were not very busy. My friend went to use the restroom and the soap dispenser was out of soap. So with average food and a lack of cleanliness, I will not come here again. read more

Nothing like getting Halal Guys food in NYC at the street cart. The Andrews Ave (Fort Lauderdale) location is just as good. You just don't get the NYC crowd around you and the cabs honking... I always go for the gyro platter with every topping on it, white and red sauce. So good. Careful with that red sauce, it is very spicy (get it on the side). The counter service is great, happy staff.
