I always have such a good experience coming here :) Anyone who knows me knows that I am obsessed with Halal Guys so I was super excited that this one opened since it's so close to me! The food is always so good. I feel like they've gotten better at chopping the meat since they've opened too. It used to be in huge chunks, but now it's more shredded like the Costa Mesa one. :) The employees are also super nice! They've gotten to know my order. That's how much I come here lol! Marilyn is also super nice. My boyfriend and I are started to come here after hikes on the weekend or on days off and she's always there with a smile! I love gyro meat so was excited to try halal guys. I'd been to the one in Costa Mesa, but this one was closer/just opened so wanted to swing by. The servers are nice, but they're not as quick or efficient as the ones in Costa Mesa yet. The food still tasted good though so it's fine. I like that here the meat gets more of a char so has a crunch on it. I would recommend getting the sauces on the side even if you're dining in (it's a small place with limited seating btw). That way, you can control how much of each because too much creamy makes it kinda bland/boring after a while and the red sauce is super spicy. read more

At one point, I had stopped by Halal Guys 6 days in a row for the sake of my postworkout gainz. What I personally get is: The Regular Combo Platter, lettuce and tomatoes w/ Chicken & Gyro, extra white sauce with 3 lines of hot sauce with all the bells and whistles as well. Having been such a frequent flyer, I have cultivated such a great relationship with the employees here at Halal Guys. I've come to have such mad love for Derek and A.C. I love the simplicity of this place! The platters come in 3 different options, you can choose from beef, chicken, or a combo. Each platter comes with rice, lettuce, and tomatoes. You can choose to add/omit anything you'd like. They also add their signature white sauce at the end - I think it's cute that they ask you to tell them when to stop (& super helpful so that you get the amount of sauce you want). They also have hot sauce and bbq sauce for additional flavors. I definitely recommend giving the bbq sauce a try! It adds some flavor to your meal when the white sauce gets boring. The regular is only $1 more than the small so just go for the regular and save some for later! (It's ~$10 for the regular). The food itself is delicious! It's refreshing and a really light meal if that's what you're aiming for. I love how soft the chicken was and how the pita bread comes out warm. They also serve gyros, fries, and some bakeries here - something for everyone :) Would definitely recommend to everyone! The shop itself is a bit small but does have a couple tables if you plan on eating in. Parking won't be a problem because it's in a big shopping plaza! read more

This review is long over due! I meant to write this 3 weeks ago when I ordered takeout and the worker gave me such great service! I've always been a fan of Halal Guys and love their simple plates (+ white sauce!) I was around the area running some errands when I decided to grab dinner. Yelped for something nearby and Halal Guys showed up! Made a quick order online (easy!) and in no time my order was ready! It was a busy day with lots of cars and people waiting for their order but the worker was prompt and polite. He even gave me extra white sauce!! So happy to come across workers who enjoy their job even during this covid crisis. I will be back! read more

I have absolutely no idea how people give this place anything more than one star. Really!! We ordered two plates. One was chicken and the other one was the "special savory beef" or something like that. The beef was nothing like the chunks of meat shown in the picture (I know, when are they, ever?) and you needed a microscope to find the tiny pieces of meat on both plates. Once you found it, you realized it was also tasteless. The dish consisted mostly of iceberg lettuce, flavorless rice and tomatoes. All that for around $30. The place was also very dirty. The customer service here is A1! I originally came into halal guys getting two meals--one for me & one for my coworker during lunch rush. Unfortunately, my coworker's meal wasn't sealed on properly so it ended up spilling in my car. I didn't want to make the trip back so I ended up just giving her my own. I didn't intend to come back the same day or to even mention the situation in the first place, but I ended up there again with my friends the same night. I ended up ordering & telling them just as a story. They were really understanding & friendly about it & offered a discount for this meal!! Although not cheap at $2.10 for a small triangle piece...I ordered another. Very, very good. * The "HOT SAUCE" - red sauce. VERY VERY SPICY...I cannot recommend having the staff sauce your meal. Stick to the individual sized packs and add/dip your own portions. You will thank me. It's good...but it is HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! * Ginger Ale in the soda fountain!! OK...it's FANTA and not Vernor's but I can't have everything. * Service - generally very friendly and efficient. The "NOT SO GOOD:" * Beef gryo fairly...ummm...burned. Crust is ok, burned is not. * Pita bread - cold, undercooked dough. "nuff said." * Rice - very oily, tough and a weird orange in color. * The White Sauce - DO NOT LET THEM sauce your meal without supervision. The sauce was underwhelming in taste - no tahini taste AT ALL and the quanity used on my dish was OVERWHELMING in quanity... * Regular size vs. Small size platter: "It's only a $1 more..." will be the sales pitch from the kid behind the counter. Save your $1 towards another piece of the Baklava... As another reviewer stated elsewhere on YELP (paraphrased) this place is the McDonald's of Middle Eastern food. Normally, I love this place and it really satisfies a craving. I ordered a small beef gyro platter ($9) with a side of hummus ($5). After devouring 3/4 of the meal, I was a bit sad to find a bug buried within my platter because it was super yummy. A side note (not affecting my rating): their spicy sauce is pure heat with no flavor.
