We did the AYCE Premium. Food and Service were 5 Stars. Our server was Nancy and she was very helpful and very sweet to my daughter who was being a handful.

Came here for their 7 piece omakase + AYCE for $60 (amazing value) and so impressed!! I don't usually have high expectations for AYCE places, but sushi damu really impressed me! The quality of the fish was amazing and I can't believe everything we got for $60. They have unlimited nigiri, sashimi, rolls, and hot items too like agedashi tofu and yellowtail collar. The variety and quality are unmatched. Our servers Nancy and Jaslin were phenomenal and so attentive and sweet too!! No reservations, but thankfully they have yelp waitlist available so if you plan ahead you can get seated within reason.

Unassuming outside, Sushi Damu truly exceeded expectations especially as an AYCE! You can tell it's a local favorite -- it was crowded on a random 2PM weekday. My husband and I tried their new omakase experience, which was on a promotion for $65 for the omakase experience followed by AYCE which was such a steal. Fish was fresh and great quality especially for the price. Definitely recommend coming for this promotion while it's still going on (one of the premium AYCE options was already priced for $65 so you're essentially getting a 2 for 1 With the new omakase experience with the promotion). Service was quick and attentive despite how busy it was but not overbearing. 10/10 would definitely come back! No complaints

Sushi Damu has to be one of the BEST AYCE sushi spots I've been to -- and I've been to many! The restaurant itself is beautiful, clean and modern, with great music and a really nice atmosphere. Service was outstanding -- friendly, attentive and consistent throughout our meal. I also LOVE their ordering system. You actually order directly through your server, which makes everything so much easier. They have QR codes if you want to browse the menu and read more about the different items, but you're not stuck ordering everything through your phone. Such a simple thing, but it makes the whole AYCE experience feel much more relaxed and personal. And the sushi? Amazing. I did the premium/omakase upgrade and it was absolutely worth it. You get some seriously impressive premium selections plus sashimi -- and this wasn't just "good for AYCE" sashimi. It was legitimately excellent quality. The bluefin tuna was phenomenal, and the freshness, variety and presentation really impressed me. Everything else we tried was delicious too, from the rolls and mussels to the appetizers. They manage to offer a huge selection without compromising quality. Excellent fish, great variety, beautiful presentation, outstanding service, an easy ordering system and a great atmosphere. Absolutely worth the drive to Tustin. I'll definitely be back!

tldr; the accommodated a party of 10 w/ really good quality fish! Server - Jackie, she was lovely. We joked and we even gave her some pins we got from irvine Chimac festival. My favorite orders: 1. Bluefin tuna nigiri 2. Tamago - I love eggs 3. Salmon nigiri- The gave some really good quality salmon. Great marbling.

Sushi was very fresh throughout all the rounds! Usually quality goes down for a lot of ayce restaurants but not this one! Thick and fresh slices all night! Service was great as well! They were fairly busy but servers were very attentive and quick!

I came for the premium $60 ayce includes blue fin tuna and sashimi They have a bunch of things on their menu from nigiri, rolls, appetizers, hot dishes, sashimi, and etc. The blue fin tuna nigiri was pretty good, similar quality to x fish. Salmon and yellowtail was good as well. Service was fast once it got going but it was slow to start. Staff were all friendly and nice. Main concern: when i bit into blue fin tuna sashimi, i felt a thin layer of ice as if the fish hasn't been properly thawed. Big issue since this is one of the main things i came for Regardless, imo this is one of the best ayce in oc in terms of bang for your buck since you can order as many blue fin tuna as you can. This is very similar to x fish, biggest difference is that x fish is $55 and you also get a 12 piece omakase which includes a toro piece. This place is $60 without that. But if you live in the oc area it makes more sense to come here instead of driving further to go to x fish.

One of my new favorite AYCE sushi spots. The sushi was fresh and high quality. Ambiance was very intimate, great date spot. Peak dinner times can be very long, since they do not have many tables. I suggest going during lunch. They had toro here which is rare to see for an ayce restaurant but it's on the higher price menu.

The ambiance is gorgeous dark, moody, and they have great food and service. This may be weird to point out but I love the size of their tables haha so spacious. Please note that their fizzy drinks are not from a soda machine but rather a can with ice on the side I didn't mind but just letting you know. Food is absolutely picture perfect and I love the options of the baked sushi. I was able to get dry udon for my baby girl. Ages 0-3 are free and thank goodness because I have twin babies (not so babies) and it gets expensive doing family outings. Im already thinking about my next meal here. Ohh they had the fun bendy straws+ waters for my kiddos which was so cute and my kids loved it.

Nancy was our server and she was so amazing and kind! Food was absolutely amazing as well. Definitely will be back.

Sushi Damu has always been my favorite AYCE sushi spot because of the quality, variety, and usually great service, so this experience was really disappointing. I give Five Stars for the food, but two for the service we received this night. We came in for dinner and placed our first round of orders, and while we received our sides and two rolls, we were still waiting on our nigiri for quite a while. At first, we understood because it seemed busy, but after waiting longer we finally asked about it and were told that our order paper had been lost. If we didn't ask would they have even noticed? By that point, we had already been waiting a long time. We were handed a new order sheet and put in our 1st round order again and not long after that we were then told to put in the rest of our order because last call was soon... They also forgot one of our appetizer orders but at that point it wasn't worth waiting for. I still love the food here, but the service during this visit was frustrating and made the experience feel rushed and overlooked.

It's been a while since I've been here. I've visited once before. I brought my family along with me during this visit to celebrate my mom's birthday. Parking: There's a medium sized parking lot. Finding a spot can be difficult. Since all the spots close to the restaurant were already taken, I parked further in the back. Ambiance/Environment: We visited on a Sunday for an early dinner around 4pm. It was already packed with every table and booth filled. We waited about 18 min to get seated. The tables were somewhat close together. Everything was kept clean. If you're a millennial, you'll appreciate the type of music. Service: We thought the service can improve. 3/5 at most. The host was really nice when he greeted & seated us. If you need assistance, you'd flip the sign to get their attention. It takes a while to grab their attention. The servers weren't as efficient. They forgot some of our dishes and didn't bring a bottle opener for the beers. Throughput was a bit slow bc it took a while to receive our orders. Sushi & cocktails: They offer two options, and we decided to go with the Premium AYCE. They have a QR code for the menu then you'd fill out the sheet for each round. The taste of each fish was good, especially the seasoned ones. Presentation can improve. Some of the cuts were messy. My favorite appetizers is the Monkey Ball. The alcoholic beverages were sweet. Can't expect much when it's $10, so I didn't expect them to be strong. - Monkey Ball - Garlic Edamame - Lychee Martini - Soju Sunrise - Salmon, Tuna, Blue Fin nigiri - Sushi Damu - Protein rolls Pricing: Their AYCE options are more on the higher end. We enjoyed the majority of the appetizers and sushi. Presentation can be cleaner. Drinks were okay, and service can improve.

We had a wonderful visit at Sushi Damu! The portions are very generous, and there is a great variety of options for everyone. I was initially worried about finding something my kiddo would eat, but he absolutely loved the karaage chicken. Great food, kid-approved, and worth the visit. Price for weekday ayce was fair for the quantity and quality of food.

Ask the Community - Sushi Damu

Would love to have the premium AYCE, but have a friend who is strictly vegetarian- can they sit with me and order their own meal alacart?

My wife is one who only eats cooked fish and we wanted to do the same as you (for slightly different reasons). Their policy, which they strictly enforce, is all members of the party must choose the same option, no exceptions.…

Does everyone at the table have to do the AYCE if at least one person orders it?

Our policy is that everyone at the table must participate in AYCE. Thank you for your inquiry.…

    How many rounds?

It's AYCE (all you can eat) within their time limit so as much as you can eat. You'll get charge if you over order and can't finish it.

Do they still offer AYCE lunch prices?

Yes they do. Regular AYCE and sashimi AYCE for a little bit more.

How much do they charge for a child under 3 for all the AYCE options?

    Free

When is your last call on Fridays?

We close at midnight on Fri, last call is 30 min prior to closing so it would be 11:30pm on Fridays. Please note that last seating is at 12:00 pm

Is there a max number of people you can do for reservations?

Hi, it’s usually 6 people max, we turn it off occasionally based on business requirements. We have waitlist though to put your name on it in case there’s a wait when you get here

How much is the AYCE dinner during the weekday?

Thank you for the inquiry. It's 44.95 everyday, all day.

    How much per person?

35.95 for lunch and 39.95 for dinner!

Do you have a separate menu for someone who does not want to do AYCE and have bento like menus or noodles for someone who does not eat raw fish?

We are currently making our progress on a la carte menu. This individual menu is only available from 90min prior to closing. Please visit sushidamu.com for specific hours of operation.…

Are you open today (Martin Luther King Jr. Day)? I've tried calling the phone number listed on this Yelp page and on the website multiple times to speak with someone to confirm if today's hours are the same as usual, but no answer.

Hi, we are open during the normal hours.

Is this restaurant open on the 2nd of January?

    Yes they are open.

Are you guys open Christmas Eve?

    Yes we are

Will you bring back the poke bowls? They had been the best I've ever had

    Is there AYCE sashimi?

They will charge you an extra $15 per person on top of the AYCE price.

    Make a reservation?

They don't take reservations but you have the option of joining the waitlist

Do you serve all you can eat all day?

Yes. Lunch pricing and dinner pricing

What gluten free options do you have?

Rice is GLUTEN-FREE, however most soy sauce is not. Some places do offer a gluten free version.

    Do you take reservations?

Hi, not at this. Please use the waitlist.

How many items per person can be ordered each round? Moreover, is it 3 rounds limit?

Just went today for lunch, unlimited rounds for 2 hours - 5 items per person per round.

I was lucky enough to stumble across this gem of the center of OC when they first opened - and I am proud to be a regular here. I don't know how to go somewhere else - because I feel like the staff are giant gems in this jewel of a spot. Winters is a curator of boozy information that has helped me learn about "gin" and "root beer whiskey" so I can sound like an adult-ish purveyor, when really I know close to nothing except being a willing student to his creations. Dan the Man and Jacob always see me raise my hand in the corner of the bar, like the student I am, and have been willing to fill in the blanks for me when I know I am of thirst, but do not have the words for what to order. Every person working in the well has treated me with kindness - they have taken the time to get to know me, and I will be forever appreciative of how they have taken care of me over the years. But the real joy has been the transformation that this spot has for building a community of people in Santa Ana for real recognizing real. I have been bringing my Dad with me to play pool for the past few years. Sometimes people ask me if he plays professionally, I am terrible, and my skill incline is slow, he is patient and plays with the same level craftiness that the staff offer the cocktails. My Dad is always stoked when we have time to go have a few hours of games at 616 - especially now that there are regulars on 4th street that are excited to see that he is there playing - and they rush to write their names on the chalkboard to challenge him - or beat him in a game they really earned the W. On lazy Sundays, I watch couples sit with their drink, listening to Jazz, and watching my Dad whoop my ass while making amazing shots. I am forever grateful to Memo who sometimes takes a break from his shift behind the bar to give my dad an actual challenge - which allows me the chance to watch my Dad enjoy fellowship around the table. Knowing the table was a relic of the bars former self, and knowing the history that this spot has in Santa Ana is a reminder that so much around us can change - but it is those moments of the crack of the rack, the cheer of getting the combo shot, and the shake of hands when it's over that shows that it's not just about the pool table - but about the energy of a place that is welcoming and curated by people who care about what they do - and care about who comes through their doors. Thank you Jason and Mike B to bringing this to 4th St and supporting the community that was already here - and for building a community for the future. Thank you to Christina and Brandon for always having amazing pictures, decor, and fun events at 616 that help introduce new folks into this great spot. Time is short. Learn about Root Beer Whiskey. The last time I was in OC, Qua was just getting ready to be opened. We generally like the Kei…read moreConcepts restaurants and were excited to try out Qua. We came when happy hour was going on (2-5 pm M-F), and it seemed they had a good selection for that alone. Otherwise, their regular menu was pretty extensive and they had so many unique options. We had dinner to go to so unfortunately we couldn't order too much. I would have loved to order more food! We ended up ordering the following: - Chili crunch burrata: This is chef's kiss. I love burrata in general and it was so unique to have chili crisp mixed with the burrata. The pickled shallot provided a nice balance. I loved the Chinese donut to eat with the burrata. It was hot and fresh, and contrasted very nicely with the burrata. I really wished they gave a bit more Chinese donut so that the ratio of cheese to dip was better. We really had to eat a LOT of cheese to go with the Chinese donut we had left. The hostess said this was also one of her favorite dishes. - Chicken cartilage with Mala BBQ spice: This was surprisingly meatier than I thought (thought there would be more cartilage). It was deep fried and the mala dip was spicy, as promised! - Stir fried ong choy with garlic (not part of happy hour): This was solid, and they gave a generous amount of ong choy. Service was very friendly at the front and when they served our food. The restaurant is beautiful, and feels upscale. It is nice enough for entertaining guests and for dates. I would totally come back to try their other dishes.

Surprisingly good--definitely worth a try if you're a KEI concepts lover like myself. Spicy wontons were sweeter than spicy, which did not meet my DTF dupe expectations, but the cucumbers were great. Everything else was cool but not spectacular. I love the happy hour menu at Vox, and the happy hour menu here looks promising. I'd definitely come back for the happy hour specifically because I feel that the dinner prices here are too much for their portion sizes.

We have returned to Strong Water several times in recent months, so it's time for an update. We…read morefirst returned in early June since they introduced some new cocktails and food to the menu. The other visits were just because this is by far our number one place. Recently added cocktails: Buzzin' Jungle Bird (Jamaican gold rum, coffee infused campari, dark rum, pineapple, lime, hemp orgeat, cane, Angostura bitters). This is a great spin on a jungle bird, with some complexity and coffee flavor. I'm usually not a big fan of coffee, but it is at a good level. Chi Chi (Whey vodka, pineapple, lime, date, honey, coconut, salt). This has a great creamy texture which I believe comes from the dairy component of the whey vodka. It is well balanced with some sweetness, and I could taste the coconut and date flavors. Lapu Lapu (Asian rum, Jamaican rum, dry curacao, lime, orgeat, demerara). It is juicy, well balanced, and served with a flaming sugar cube on top. This is the cocktail they chose to serve at their booth at Tiki Oasis recently which says a lot, try it! Thai Me Down (Barbados rum, coconut liqueur, papaya, lemon, demerara, Thai basil). It is served old-fashioned style, and was light and perfectly balanced. Those Thai inspired flavors were all noticeable. Demerara Dry Float. They added and took this one off the menu as of now. It was a balanced light citrusy drink which was served with a delicious sidecar of Hamilton 151 rum infused with banana chips. I sipped half of that and mixed the rest into the cocktail. It was served with a beautiful ice shell. I'm guessing it was too labor intensive, and took up a lot of space in their freezers. Recently added food: Ahi Poke Nachos (marinated ahi tuna, masago, avocado, cucumber, spicy mayo, furikake, green onion). This is such a tasty starter with so many textures and flavors. I love that the nachos are wontons too, and not just chips. Crab & Cream cheese wontons. Nice crisp wontons with a good amount of crab and cream cheese inside. The chili sauce and spicy mayo adds another layer of flavor, and there is a slice of jalapeno on top for a little heat. Pan-Seared Scallops. This was an excellent lighter entrée. The four scallops are cooked perfectly, and even have a little dollop of caviar on top. I liked the mix of veggies and really liked the bed of potato puree underneath. Steak & Eggs (8oz hanger steak, crying tiger glaze, Nam Jim Jaew sauce, sunny eggs, rice). I normally wouldn't try steak & eggs for dinner, but I can't resist a good hanger steak. It was cooked a perfect medium rare and I appreciate that it was pre-sliced. The crying tiger glaze and sauce were so flavorful. There's plenty of rice to soak up any left egg yolk or sauce. Recently added desserts: Dubai Chocolate Lava Cake. This was excellent, but it's definitely sweet and rich. Save some room if you plan on ordering this. Ube Flan Cake. I'm usually not a fan of flan, but I have to try anything with ube and this was good. The cake had nice ube flavor, and I liked that the flan was a little firm since the looser custardy/gelatinous texture is not for me. This is definitely a lighter dessert than the lava cake. It's not a new drink, but I also had the Naval Grog for the first time. (Lost Voyage rum, overproof white rum, allspice dram, lime, grapefruit, demerara, honey). It is boozy with nice spice notes. Other repeat cocktails enjoyed were Tales from the Black Lagoon (my favorite), Missionary's Downfall, Agave Parrot, Singapore Sling, and Serpents Grasp all of which are excellent. Their cocktails, food, ambiance, and service are always top notch. Thank you Ying, Erica, Greg, Jordan, Joey, Iris, Karen, Kyle, Joy, and John for your wonderful hospitality during our visits. We will return again soon!

Do you guys remember the infamous rainforest cafe that used to be at Disneyland? Well this place…read moregave those vibes and I really miss rain forest! This was such a gem of the place. The inside was decorated all throughout and made you feel like you were truly in a different place. It's dim, intimate and gave such a cool atmosphere! I heard this place is hard to get a reservation but one of my girlfriends was able to snag one the week prior! The inside of the restaurant is a smaller establishment so I can see why reservations would be difficult. They have a plethora of drinks! Mostly specializing in specialty rum cocktails. Ordered the ritual of the Queen which was a specialty drink with tequila and coconut rum. Very delicious! For food our table shared the Loco Moco and chicken katsu. Both delicious! There is also another smaller bar area behind closed doors that give speak easy vibes. I'm not sure how or if this place accommodates big groups as the tables are good for maybe 4-6 people. I'd definitely come back her
