This is a pretty standard bar with nothing out of the ordinary, either bad or good, that I could see. It's steps away from Washington Square Park, so this bar probably feels like with a location like that, they don't have to try so hard. This bar probably has more to offer that I just didn't experience - I saw ad advertisement for their bottomless booze brunch, and I might be a bit more exuberant with this review if I had gone for that instead of a few happy hour drinks. My friends shared some buffalo wings and they gave them good reviews (I didn't try them). I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this place, but if I were in the neighborhood again, I'd probably prefer to try out a new bar. read more

The bottomless mimosas are a really good deal. the mimosa itself is good and they are prompt about refilling. the food was just alright. we ordered two Benedict's which had well done soft boiled eggs and came with some nice greens and good french fries, but the rest of the Benedict from the biscuit to the hollandaise wasn't very flavorful. we also ordered the breakfast pizza which was alright if you really like bacon as that was about the only thing on it. also the tables outside are not very comfortable. read more

What to do with you, Half-Pint... You serve a good number of microbrews, but are routinely - ROUTINELY - out of them. You have a great menu, but the quality of a single dish varies day by day. You are centrally located for NYU students and locals (with all that entails), but can't hold up when compared to similar bars in the area (Peculier Pub, Blind Tiger). Within your moderate-sized, wooden-floored walls, one can get a drink and a meal, but it gets way too packed for a place with no TV's or side diversions. The big windows let in the air, let out the noise, and generally keep things nice inside, but you just can't help bringing back mediocre staff, can you? Thus, I'll have to say let's stay friends and forget about those few random hook-ups we had during college. We can hang out (or, should I say, I'll hang out in you) from time to time, but don't think that means we're getting engaged. I'm getting serious with Peculier, and she hasn't done anything to make me cheat on her. BEER SELECTION: Great, with decent prices, but with two or three kegs always tapped, even at odd times. FOOD: Great menu but not consistent. One time, their caesar wrap will be fantastic. The next, my taste buds will cry out in pain. We came here last night, it started ok. We got a beer tower and some food. The food was good as was the beer and service (at first). We asked for the bill and the waitress (Sarah) promptly brought it. The bill was $140 and change. We gave $140 in cash and asked to charge $40 on a credit card and needed the change (there were 7 of us- tip was included). Sarah brings back the bill with the cc slip and no change. We flag her down and told her she wasn't supposed to keep the extra $40 tip when her tip was already included in the bill. She comes back with $20 in the folder. We call her back and said you are supposed to give us $40 back and she looked very confused and was trying to tell us her tip was supposed to be out of the cash we were like that's fine but either way you need to give us the money because it was included in the bill. She then left again. We finally got the Manager and explained the situation. He quickly fixed it (hence the two stars) and brought the rest of the money. No likey. read more

Made a reservation for brunch today with a friend. She showed up first and the staff tried seating her at a small table with two high stools. Other regular tables were available and so she asked for one and was told "those are reserved." We had a reservation too, and I walk with a cane due to knee and back problems. Meant to post this a long time ago but here I am, One time I came here with a few friends to relax and get a drink. We had to sit outside because it was packed but luckily we got a table to watch the game. Unfortunately that's where it all goes downhill. The waiter we had caught an attitude because he thought I refused to give my ID but I told him I'm not buying a drink right this second so I will buy it later when I find out what drinks they had that I could buy. When he serves my friends drinks I decided to try one of them to get an idea of which one I can get myself. Next thing you know, manager snatches our drinks even my water out of my hand when I was drinking it and tells out to get the fuck out. My friends and I were confused at the moment so I came to her and asked what was the problem. She said "Your waiter told me you refused to give your ID" which I told her that was not true, I said I'm not buying a drink at the moment. So when the waiter told her what I said, she was staring at my friends and I thinking we were causing trouble and was waiting for us to do something bad, which was not cool at all. We did nothing wrong and we were following the rules. In fact, security told us to show our IDs in the first place even though we couldn't get in when it was packed but we still showed them anyways because anyone 21 and up had to anyways since it was nighttime. So I decided to defuse the situation and while the manager and I both apologized, she still gave me an attitude, then I told the waiter to apologize for the miscommunication he said "I don't know what you guys are even talking about". I felt so disrespected and disappointed in the service, how my friends were treated and the night was ruined because of this place. I'm never coming back here anymore, it used to be a good place to eat but after being treated poorly, I do not want to step foot in here again. Service is quick and love the towers so you can pour yourself and really maximize the bottomless! Brunch food is just ok/nothing special and good prices but I mainly come for the towers. read more

I came here for their bottomless brunch. There were several people walking around making sure your glass was never empty for long. I ordered the fried chicken and waffle. I had my birthday brunch here this past saturday. It was a party of 18 of us and they gave us three tables in the back bar. They offered us a special deal- for $45 dollars you got an entree and 2 hours unlimited budlites, mimosas, bloody marys, and brunchpunch- tax &tip included. The waitresses were fantastic- they came around with pitchers to refill us even before our glasses were totally empty. Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed the food- i got the biscuits&gravy which was delicious. All in all, our experience here was fantastic- amazing food, drinks, and staff was great!! A few of my friends stumbled into this place to watch the first presidential debate this year. I think it'd be great to watch the World Cup (I'll have to keep this in mind if I'm not in Rio or Sau Paulo myself, but that's neither here nor there). It's sort of hard for me to explain why Half Pint gets four stars and Amity only gets three. But after three years at NYU, I have a huge soft spot for the Half Pint. I just love the casual vibe, the reasonably priced beers (you can get these.. beer towers? if you're with a group for a good deal), and even the food I actually think is really good, especially for bar food. Our glasses were never empty except for the one time I finished two drinks in five minutes... I had to wait a second to refill again but that was probably a good thing. The Half Pint has a good space and great potential for a good bar in the touristy Greenwich area, so I'll cal this an interim review until I give the place another try (this review is based on my second experience). To start the rant, I expect all places boasting such a large beer list to have the top selection from Germany and at least a few decent brews from neighbouring (CDN spelling) Canada! Instead, aside from not serving Hacker Pschorr (my fav beer, and inarguably top 3 brews from Germany), their only selections from Canada were Labatt (actually a Busch label) and Canadian (ironically a Coors label), both of which are crappy college-grade beers. As a suggestion, Blanche de Chambly, Alexander Keith's, and Moosehead are many folds over better representatives of Canada if you are going for the generic brands! On to the next part (and I swear I wasn't being this snobby while at the bar), the beer my friends ordered didn't arrive for a good 10 minutes, and in fact mine did not arrived at all. To make things worse, after bringing the pints for my friends the waitress did not return for 30 mins, and needless to say I went to pick something up at the bar instead. This is totally fine, except in situations where you tell your patrons that they will be waited upon if they sit at the tables in the front of the bar! Finally, for such a large space, 1 or 2 washrooms are not enough, and making them unisex was not a good idea ( this is worse for the ladies of course). On the bright side, Half Pint carries a lot of great American brews and Belgian brands, and if it wasn't for the crappy service, they would have gotten at least 3*! Prohibition Big Daddy is a great IPA from Northern Cali and I was pretty happy to see it on tap in New York! read more

This one is a 2.75 stars for me. I really was digging the atmosphere and beers, but once the food hit it was going down faster than the Hindenburg. You have to love a place that has Chimay on tap! You have to also love a place that has 24 other beers on tap. This is a place for alcohol lovers to go! Though I didn't get past the beer, their scotch offerings looked just as impressive; this will definitely be a place I return to for an imbibe. The food, however, missed the mark. Although their nachos were some of the best I have ever had, their cheese fries were sub-par. And when our main meals came out, my turkey burger was very over cooked and lacked any real taste. To add insult to injury, their fries were way over salted. This did not help the burger at all. Again, I will definitely be back next time I am in the city for beer. This bar is awesome. Me and my boyfriend were seated immediately in a cozy corner of the bar. They were so kind and considerate when I accidentally knocked over my drink. One person helped me clean off my jacket by giving me napkins and gave me water to wipe it off. He then suggested that I lay my jacket on the heater so it dried off faster. "... where every body knows your name..." ok so technically, they don't know my name. but they know my face. and i love that when i walk in, they know what i want to order. they have a super impressive beer selection. it's literally a book (while their menu is just one page, albeit an oversized page). they have always have a great selection on tap, and almost any beer you'd want to consume in bottle form. its the only place i can find fruli (yes, a super girly fruity beer, don't judge me). also, you must try the skittle bomb, which LITERALLY tastes like liquid skittles. it will get you where you need to go. the food is great, too. big soft pretzels, homemade chips, jerk chicken burger, turkey burger with black bean salsa, seared ahi tuna salad, chicken wings, calamari, nachos, all good and all huge portions. on sundays they have unlimited mimosas or bloody marys for an extra price, i forget how much, but definitely reasonable. in general actually, their prices are very reasonable, like $6-$9 for a beer. i love this place. read more
