This is a pretty good pub with a nice atmosphere. I came here back at the end of Oct 2015 after a meeting at NYU and I'm glad we stopped in. The service was good and the staff were all very kind. The brews were great and they have a nice selection of brews. I can't comment on the food as I didn't have any, but my friends enjoyed their snacks (typical bar food). My friends and I were wandering around in the neighborhood trying to find somewhere to get drinks. The beer variety is great! There were a lot of great things on tap. I didn't have any mixed drinks so I can't speak to that. Also, none of us ordered food. The biggest plus of this place is that I went with a group of 9 people. They have something called a beer tube, which I had never seen before. You can get 96oz of Bud Light for $39. We all threw in $3 and each got a pint with a little left over. Great deal if you have a big group! There weren't a lot of people when we went, but we did go early. It was nice and clean. The bartender was pretty quick on getting our orders, but there weren't a lot of people there. Main complaint is that a can of PBR was $5.50. I'm from Milwaukee and I generally can pick up a 12 pack for $6. It was a bit of a shock, but I suppose those are the price differences. read more

It works. Why? An extensive beer list (took 10 minutes for me to read through it). Yummy, greasy bar food (if you sit really still, in between beer burps you may even feel the cholesterol stick to your arteries). A friendly atmosphere (unpretentious, easy-going, laid back, yet active). Yes, it works. Even despite the crap service ("I'm sorry, what did you order?" and "Are you done looking at the beer list yet, miss?"). Even despite the crappy cocktails (a lemon drop, I think, is supposed to taste just a teeny bit like lemon, especially if I'm gonna pay 10 bucks for it). Even despite the crappy, luke-warm white wine ("We just opened the bottle." Uh huh. Was it next to the oven?). So, in short, come with a group, stick to the beers, order some fried cheese to soak up all that alcohol, and relax -- you'll enjoy yourself a lot more than if you get caught up in details. read more

3.5/5 The Half Pint is an excellent beer bar, boasting a long menu of various beers. I hope that's what you're there to drink, because it's one of its best aspects. It helps that the place is spacious and the service was really friendly, attentive, and overall fantastic while I was there. I came for brunch, and they had a sweet offer of $12 for unlimited Mimosas or Bloody Marys for the remainder of your meal/brunch hour. Considering that some places (like Cafe Orlin) charge something like $9 for a single mimosa, this is a steal. Just drink two and you've already made out well. Note that it is just a big pitcher they're pouring from. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, which was okay. Nothing stand out about it, but the potatoes it came with were really disappointing. Kind of dry and cardboard-y, I didn't bother to eat them. For $10, you get the two slices of English muffin topped with the Canadian bacon, poached egg, and Hollandaise sauce. Nothing unique here, just standard and expected. Good brunch spot if you're not in the mood to be impressed by the food, but great spot if beer with friends is what you want. read more

This place was terrific. I ate outside on a lovely day, and I'm not from around, but it seemed to be in a really nice area. A lot of college students around also because I believe the college is near. The food was at a fairly cheap price for where it was, our waitress was on point, as were others who were clearing our plates. And our waitress was nice enough to charge one of our phones behind the bar. I would come here again to try other foods they serve! read more

I enjoy the music, the vibe and the atmosphere of this place. They have the same owners as Amity so if for some reason you can't get into Amity, this is definitely your place. In my mind it's kinda the more upbeat version of Amity. Amity is more of your typical sports bar (awesome) and this place seems more like your typical drink and party place. So all in all the owner of these bars is doing a great job at capturing everyone's perfect amount of drink(age) and party(age). Last time I came here it was a typical Friday. Packed per usual, there was a fiesta going on at Amity so we went to the Half Pint. We found ourselves some chairs by the bar and all in all had a good time having some drinks. We stopped here for a quick beer. I had the Weihenstephan Hefe Weissbier and enjoyed it very much. They have some happy hour specials, but they kinda suck (Coors Light, Bud Light, something else... meh). The rest of their beer menu is pretty neat, though, so I'd spend the extra dollar or two and get a more exciting beer. The service was quick and the bartender was attentive (even though we only ordered one drink). 96 ounce towers of beer! If you're a beer fan, Half Pint has a lot to offer. The atmosphere is really laid back and relaxing, and the staff is always very helpful (and patient when the towers of beer inevitably spill on the tables). Seating is a little bit limited, but every time I've come in with a group they've been good about letting us move furniture around. The food is okay-typical pub food, nothing too special. I usually just get the cajun fries or chicken strips, which are pretty good. Mostly, I just go for the amazing selection of beers. read more

Really not too much to this place besides being a pretty standard spot in the village with a better beer menu. It's not going to have a jammed crowd on a Friday night, so if you want somewhere that you can sit and chat before hitting up some of the busier spots, this would be it. Yumm their bar food i believe was decent. Every bar i go to i have to try their wings ahhaa. and they did not disappoint! crunchy on outside and soft on inside. a friend ordered cheese kurds- they all liked it- i felt it was too dry. veggie burger was reported as "alright," pizza's were reported as yummy. Pretty busy lively crowd- mostly 30's- late 20's i would say- mixed race and dress. it was a nice bar looking atmosphere with lots of hightops and stools- nice wood tables- an almost cozy environment. read more

Loved this place! I was in town for pleasure, and was looking for somewhere for a bite and a pint before hitting the comedy club. This had everything I could possibly have wanted. Their beer list was amazing, with all sorts of styles and flavours. Found a few new favourites! The food was delicious, with no expense spared on ingredients or portion sizes. I came here for Saturday brunch with some friends. Weird, the restaurant was almost completely empty. Their beer and scotch selections were impressive, but the servers didn't seem to know their own drink or brunch menus. I ordered one of their brunch skillets (eggs, potatoes, bacon and bread). They are served in an actual miniature skillet which while cute, is annoying and slightly challenging to eat out of. Pretty average brunch offerings, nothing to complain about but nothing to write home about either. Let me tell you... this place deserves more business than what we saw there a couple of Saturday's back! The food was yumyyyyy and came out quickly. They did a decent job of making sure our mimosas were always topped off (though of course, I wouldn't have complained if they had come around even more). I ordered the waffle egg sandwich and my friend got the bacon/cheddar scramble. The scramble was a little small, but she says it was filling. The sandwich was really good and quite unique. Went to The Half Pint with a friend for an early dinner on a Saturday night. We were seated immediately & had great service! There is a large variety of beer to choose from, all at a reasonable price! Ordered a burger & fries. The burger was cooked perfectly & the fries were just like they had been from the boardwalk. I'm always excited to see them add beers to their rotation from some of my favorite NYC breweries and they always keep the menu interesting by changing up their draft selection every week or two. Brought some friends here for pre-dinner drinks and snacks. It was around 6:00 on a Saturday, and we were seated right away. We shared a plate of nachos and some cheese curds. The cheese curds were fried to perfection and served with a ranch dipping sauce. The nachos were fantastic, too. They were smothered in cheese and beans and topped with fresh (not pickled) jalapenos and avocado. We had various beers. I tried their special drink called Angry Balls, which is Angry Orchard with a shot of Fireball. It was so good. I'll definitely come back soon! read more

I got the pork sliders and a Franziskaner and that made me happy. The sliders needed a little more barbecue sauce but other than that they were good. I give HP 3.5 but will err on the 3-side: As the name may imply, the focus here is beer and the people who like to congregate around tables and circles discussing life, school, what ever, with rounds or towers of beer. 24+ beers on tap, hundred (?) bottles of brew organized by country, and cask-conditioned ales are the beverage offerings here. I've been coming here since it opened and has been an especially good spot for me to wait while my laundry drys across the street. The food is generic pub fair with burgers, wings, and nachos but you can also build your own sandwich and pizza are also offered. HP is the metro-sexual brother in the village to Peculiar, Vol, or Blind Tiger (it is owned by the same guys as mid-town's Stout), so with a purposefully stylized look, the bar attracts a similar crowd. In the late warm spring and summer weather, the design lends large open windows for that hanging outside inside feel and they do offer seating lining the outside walls. I'd be back for a starter/ending brew with mates but probably not for a bender or to game. read more

It'd be a guy's guy bar if it had more TV screens. They're beer focused and have decent American bar food. The beer towers are kind of fun if you have a small group. Tables go quick, especially on weekends and standing near the bar seems kind of awkward for some reason. It's a nice medium-level hang out spot i.e. there's no beer pong in a slightly trashy setting or super refined service of any kind. NYU Biz school students do hang out here (I know a few), but I don't think you can really tell who is an NYU-er or not. Go here if you're in the area and need a place to chill, but don't go out of your way. read more

I've been here for a drink and now for lunch and I have to say, from what I've seen, I am a fan. There's an extensive beer list (Boddingtons, a big plus) and the atmosphere seems cool. Lots of tables etc. Dark wood, bricks, etc. They also have beer towers which my friends will surely like. The menu had a nice selection as well and while I got the Ahi Tuna Salad (which was great! Very fresh) the sandwiches and fries looked and smelled great. Definitely on my short list of places to try more often. read more

I only really go here for drinks and bar snacks.. if you're looking for a (somewhat) reasonable place to get beer (some drafts are less than $7, which is unfortunately on the lower end for nicer pours here in NY).. for happy hour (4-6 p) some beers are $5. I like the seating in the bar area.. lots of small tables & stools, windows (that open in spring/summer!) and sunlight (during the day!). They recently (perhaps as of 3 mo ago) changed their food menu; and it is just OK. I recommend the pretzels, and to steer clear of the overpriced nachos that left something to be desired. read more

Not a fan of this place. They advertise themselves to be a brunch spot with drink specials, but fell short. I met up with a bunch of people to celebrate a birthday, so was excited. The unlimited drinks were very watered down, so we had to keep asking the waitress to give us more pours. At one point they ran out of mimosa so mixed my drink with another fruity one, actually tasted good so that worked out ;) The brunch food itself was very average but overpriced. Great spot for drinks after work. Finger food, good beer selection and cool+friendly staff. They have a small area for outdoor seating in front (sidewalk) but the sidewalk is tight; to close for comfort to passers-by in my humble opinion. The crowd inside is usually a mix of personalities. Bonus: They have Delirium on tap! On request, you can get a Delirium tower but it will cost ya. It's a nice spot; close to Washington Square Park to walk off the wings. Do it! read more
